Sonny sat in the detention class, for being smart with the principal Miss McGee. Deep down, he regretted mouthing off to her. He told the guys to tell a little lie to his parents, especially his mother, since Sharleen sees Sonny as her sweet little Martin and he is. He was just having the worst day, since Marty turned him down…again. Everyone keeps telling Sonny to find a better girl and that they don't want him to get hurt. The T-Birds' families are very protective of one another. "Sonny." He looks up to see Miss McGee walking inside. "I'm gonna let you off the hook this time." She tells him as Sonny looked at her shocked.
"W-why?" He asked. "I mean, I'd like to get outta here."
Miss McGee slightly chuckled to herself.
"Thanks!" Sonny smiled.
"Look Mr. LaTierri, I know you are a very bright boy…" She started.
Sonny looks at her confused.
"I am?" Sonny asked. "Did someone pay you to say that?"
Miss McGee chuckled.
"I can assure that nobody pay me to say it." She tells him.
Sonny looks down.
"I'm…you know…" Sonny started.
Miss McGee knew what he was trying to say.
"It's quite alright, Mr. LaTierri." She spoke. "Remember, you are a bright young man…and Shane told me a lot about you…I just wish you'll see the good thing about yourself." She explains.
Sonny lets out a sigh.
"Well it ain't easy." Sonny said.
Miss McGee gave him a warm smile.
"Danny's out in the hall waiting for you with Shane." She smiled.
Sonny winced to himself.
"Oh great, I'm gonna be chewed out by my own brother." Sonny groaned.
Miss McGee laughs.
"He's not angry, Sonny." She assured him.
"Really?" He asked.
Miss McGee gave him assuring smile.
"Come on." She said.
Sonny nods as he stands up, grabbing his stuffs and they both walked out of the classroom to meet Shane and Danny.
"You alright, lil' bro?" Shane asked.
Sonny just nods a little.
"Yeah, I just…I just want to go home." Sonny says.
"Well forget her, you're amazing my boy." Danny tells him. "Don't you ever forget that, ok?"
Sonny nods his head.
"I won't Danny." He replies. "And thanks."
Danny ruffles his hair and gently headlock him before letting him go.
"Anytime kid." He smiled.
"C'mon, let's go home, alright." Shane said as he patted the back of his head.
"Ok." Sonny says.
Danny and Sonny walked off to wait for Shane.
"Miss McGee, I'm so sorry about my little brother's behavior today." Shane said to Miss McGee. "It's not like him to do that. I can assure you!"
"It's alright, kids like those boys just…need discipline and love." She said.
Shane smiled.
"Yeah, Sonny's…has been having trouble seeing that he is a great kid and a smart guy." Shane told him. "But once that girl, Marty or whatever her name is, keeps putting him down…he's just…I'm sorry, I'm really protective of my youngsters."
Miss McGee gave him a warm smile.
"I understand, Mr. LaTierri." Miss McGee smiled. "You kids have a good evening."
"You too, ma'am." Shane waved. "And thank you…"
"You're welcome, Mr. LaTierri." She responds.
He turned and walked down the hall, outside to see Danny and Sonny sitting on the bench, Shane let out a sad sigh. He wish his brother would see the good things about himself.
"That chick is a brat." Shane mutters.
He was raised to never hate, but the way that girl, Marty was treating his baby brother, angers him so much. He hated that girl so much. Ever since Phil, Sonny, Sophie and the other kids were born, he wanted to be just like Derek, a protective big brother and he is now a lawyer with a beautiful wife and a adorable child and another baby on the way. So he walks towards them.
"Ready boys?" Shane asked.
Both boys looked up and smiled.
"Yep!" Sonny smiled.
They chuckled at him.
"Let's go." Shane chuckled.
"Finally!" Sonny cheered.
They chuckled at him as they all walked to Shane's car and drove off to drop Danny at his house first.
"Thanks Shane!" Danny said getting out.
"Anytime kiddo!" Shane waved as he pulled out of the driveway.
He drove off to go home.
"Shane, mom or dad don't know that I got detention, do they?" Sonny asked.
Shane chuckled at him.
"Don't worry little brother, Shane got it covered." He tells him.
"Oh good!" Sonny breathed.
Shane chuckled at him, again.
"I told them that you and Doody wanted to have a water fight with your pistol water guns" He tells him.
Sonny laughs.
"Thanks big bro!" Sonny smiled.
Shane pats his arm, letting out a small chuckle.
"Hey, what brothers are for." Shane spoke.
Sonny nods.
"Just…next time, be careful, ok?" He said.
"I will, Shane." Sonny spoke.
Shane smiled at him and patted the back of his head.
