It is now March of 1957 and Putzie walked into History class with Eugene. He stops at the door when he sees a girl with brown hair, in pigtails. "You ok, Putzie?" Eugene asked.
"I'm ok kid, look." Putzie said pointing at the girl as Eugene looked to where he was pointing at.
"Oh her? That's Jan Barrows." Eugene replies. "She's really nice. She always talks to me during and after school."
Putzie smiled softly and then frowned, making Eugene notice.
"She'll be back soon, I promise." Eugene said softly.
But Putzie just nods and pat his back.
"Come on." He said as they went to sit down next to Jan. "Um…hi, I'm…" The girl looked up and smiled.
"Putzie Jacobs." She spoke. "Eugene told me all about you."
Putzie smiled over at Eugene.
"Thanks, my nerd." He smiled as Eugene smiled back and nodded.
"Hey, you're my favorite T-Bird." He responds. "Just don't tell Danny or Doody."
Putzie and Jan chuckled as the boys sat down.
"So…is this your first year?" Putzie asked.
"Um no, I started to go to Rydell last year. I moved from New Jersey last year."
"Cool!" Putzie smiled. "You didn't tell Eugene…what happens in Jersey, right?"
Eugene rolls his eyes at the protectiveness from Putzie.
"Hey, I have to deal with the over protectiveness from the guys, so deal with it." Putzie winked as they laughed and talked to Jan some more, before class started.
Putzie was starting to have a crush on Jan now, but in reality he was still and will always be in love with Abby.
