- Day 43: Arguments-

Japan.

Misaki stood amongst a crowd of people in the airport waiting patiently for Takumi to arrive. Their high school reunion was tomorrow and the plan was for him to arrive the day before and settle in. However, Misaki felt a little weird right now. She hadn't spoken to Takumi vocally since their little argument yesterday. They had only spoken through text afterwards.

What was she supposed to do? How would it be when they were face to face? Would they just forget what they were arguing about? Pretend like it never happened?

She didn't know what to do right now. Sure her and Takumi had disagreements here and there but this time it felt different. She couldn't understand why however.

"Misaki?"

She was brought out of her thoughts when she heard his voice unexpectedly. Takumi stood in front her with his luggage in hand. How much was she zoning out to not even notice him approach her?

"Hi," she shyly greeted him. Misaki felt slightly awkward. She looked away from Takumi rubbing her left hand against her arm trying to warm up from the cold air.

"Did Misa miss me?" He questioned.

Misaki looked back at him a little shock. Was he really just going to act like everything was fine. "Of course I missed you pervert," she muttered.

Takumi smiled gripping his luggage. "Where is the car? I'll drive."

"This way," Misaki said pointing to the direction of the car she rented. When Takumi started to walk away, she knew he wasn't just pretending nothing happened but giving her space. Every time he saw her after they separated, he would always kiss her. He didn't today.

She missed it.

The car ride back to the apartment was mostly silent. Takumi didn't make any jokes and Misaki had nothing to say. She didn't want to talk about the issue in the car and waited for them to reach the apartment room.

"Are we going to talk about it or just remain silent till it blows over?" She questioned as soon as they entered the room. There was no need for her to sugar coat it. They needed to figure this out right now.

Taumi smiled taking off his jacket. "I thought you would still be angry and not want to talk to me."

"Of course I'm angry but I don't want feel awkward around my husband. I wish you were never a diplomat? How did you think that made me feel? It hurts because it came out of your mouth," Misaki angrily said. He knew how hard she worked to be where she was today. "Yes I was tired but thats because I needed to complete work. It's not everyday I take on more than I can handle."

"More than twenty years you took on more than you could handle," He replied slowly.

"What?" She questioned.

"Working to clear your father's debts, pay the bills, put food on the table, make your family happy. You've took on more than you could handle most your life," Takumi continued. "You took on the responsibility of providing for your family, over working yourself and worked to change Seika," he took a deep breath before continuing. "I watched you worked hard for as long as I could remember and as much as I admire it Misaki, I dislike it."

"I wanted to take care of you, pamper you, make sure you never lifted a finger. I wanted to care for you like you did for others. I would never not support whatever you wanted to do but seeing you tire yourself, I dislike it. I dislike how you don't notice how much you push yourself," Takumi unapologetically. He knew she was hurt by what he said yesterday but he wouldn't apologise for how he felt.

"Why can't you be a diplomat who remembers she's just a human being who needs to rest at times? When theres something big at work you go into shut down mode. Sometimes I wonder if you believe you're an unstoppable demon," he joked. Takumi picked up his luggage. "I'm going to unpack this."

He headed to their bedroom leaving Misaki alone.

Misaki's eyes fluttered trying to hold back her emotions but it didn't help. Tears fell from her eyes one by one recalling what Takumi admitted to her.

How could he say those things then leave?

She never saw it from his pont of view. Misaki finally understood why he got so angry seeing her over work herself at times. She had a lot of thinking to do when it came to work. Misaki did not want to worry Takumi any longer.
