-Day 64: Family dinner (2)-
Raven castle
6:30 pm
Gerard Walker placed a bouquet of flowers on the memorial site of his late grandfather, Richard Ranchester. It had been over a month since Richards passing and Gerard had not gotten used to not seeing him roaming around in the castle. As tough as his grandfather was Gerard still missed him a lot. But he also knew there wouldn't have been peace in the castle if his grandfather was alive.
He wanted his grandfather alive and well but he also wanted to fix the broken relationship he had with his brother. His resentment and anger towards Takumi had long disappeared and Gerard found himself conflicted feeling as if he had to pick which family he should stay beside in the past.
Gerard hoped Richard was enjoying his reunion with his daughter and wife. Maybe Patricia was continually knocking some sense into Richard from the moment they reunited and maybe Richard had a change of heart.
It just sucked Richard couldn't ask Takumi for forgiveness before he passed.
It would be great if one day Gerard could pay the memorial a visit with Takumi. It didn't have to be next week, month, or even next year. As long as they could do it at least once he would very much appreciate it.
Gerard stood in silence for a few more seconds before bowing and then leaving the site. It was currently time for dinner. Misaki had already arrived home from work to change and prepare herself to come down to the dining room. Takumi would mostly pop out from wherever Misaki showed up.
Gerard entered the dining room which was almost chaotic with the servants rushing to put all the dishes on the long table. He took a seat at the head of the table where his grandfather used to sit. With the Raven castle being handed down to him, he had to deal with the pressures which came with being the head of the family.
Somehow he understood why his grandfather needed to be tough but Gerard figured there was a better way to lead the Raven castle. He did not want to put the business before family just like Richard. It caused Patricia to feel suffocated in her own home and for her two sons to have a bad relationship.
Going forward family would come first.
"Hello, Gerard! What are you thinking about so deeply?" Misaki questioned entering the dining room. The first thing she noticed was Gerard who sat alone in silence staring at the table.
"Maybe he wishes to become a silver spoon," Takumi teased following behind Misaki like a little puppy. He pulled out Misaki's chair for her to sit then took his place on the other side which was by Gerard.
"Wondering what was taking you so long. Don't tell me you two were fooling around. Honestly, Don't tell me," Gerard begged. He was still traumatized from the valentines day gift he took a peep at.
As expected he saw Misaki blushed while his brother smiled. He found himself being able to predict their behavior with how close they were getting.
"H-How was your day Gerard? I saw they were a lot of changes done to the castle on the outside," Misaki said changing the subject.
"I decided to change up a few parts of the castle to make it more welcoming and comfortable. If there is anything about your side of the castle you would like changed please notify me," Gerard offered.
"Thank you," Misaki replied then secretly tapped Takumi under the table for him to ask a question.
"Misaki and I will be watching a movie after dinner. We were wondering if you'll like to join us?" Takumi asked, offering an open invitation for Gerard to join their usual movie nights.
"Since you're begging me to come I guess I'll join," Gerard replied accepting the invitation. "Ceddy! Please serve dinner and prepare some snacks for us to watch a movie with," He added out loud for Cedric who popped out the most random place.
"Yes, young master!"
Gerard knew in no time the Raven castle would be filled with the laughter and happiness it was declined for many years.

I always thought of creating my own world and characters and having the chance to do it is exciting. Creating the story on webnovel is time-consuming since I plan to update daily and I thought about stopping writing fanfiction entirely. If you haven't noticed Teach me is discontinued for now. I decided to continue Innocent Romance and Our lives at the moment. I will try to have our lives or Innocent romance updated once a week. Writing fanfiction on and off throughout 6 years has been and I'm happy to get to try doing something new. Hopefully, I will finish Our lives and Innocent romance as planned.
