Chapter 1: A Haunted Old School House Pt. 1
~Ryu's POV~
As I dropped Mai off at school, I noticed my brother at the old school house that supposedly haunted. I heard stories of that place from Mai and her friends, yes I come to their ghost story telling after school. I don't want my brother, Lin know that I'm here. So I went to a coffee shop and ordered coffee. I went to meet Masako at our favorite spot in the park. We talked and she said that a principal has asked her to come in tomorrow to see the old school house. She told me that she can bring me because the principal knows that she works with me a lot on cases and he allowed me to join. I know it would be a surprise to my brother. Masako knows about my brother and she knew that my brother is here in Japan. After a while, I told her to meet me at the school that's across the street from the old school house. She agreed and I went to the school to pick up Mai after the ghost stories. I listened to the stories before it was my turn. I told a story about a case that my father was on. They listened to the story. I continued the story and I soon finished. I turned off my flash light and we counted till we heard Kazuya say 5. I didn't scare easily. I stood up and walked out with Mai after me and we said our goodbyes. Mai and myself started to head back to our home and we entered. I made dinner for the both of us and Mai asked me why I didn't talk to Kazuya when he entered the class room that we were all in. I told her that I was friends with Kazuya's brother, Gene and that I was the last person to have seen him (Gene) alive.
"Kazuya doesn't trust me because I was the last person that had seen him before a case that I warned him about because of a vision type dream. I hated how I couldn't save him from a fate I couldn't change." I said.
"It's not your fault that you couldn't change the fate of Gene. I believed that you just told him about your warning to just be careful." Mai said.
"That's nice of you to say that. I just wish I could find him and find out what truly happened to him on that case." I said.
"I know you will find him alive and not dead. I know that you can. I believe in you Ryu." Mai said.
I thanked Mai and helped her with her homework while I was researching the history and Mai was telling me about a girl claiming she had Psychic abilities. I told her that some people will said that they have Psychic abilities just to get attention because no one would listen to that person other wise. Mai asked me about what I said. I told her that I'm a Psychic Medium and first on both sides of my family. I told her that I can see, talk, Feel and know when spirits are good or evil. I also told her I went on a case with my father about someone lying about being a psychic medium and my father told that someone off about the lie. Mai believed me and she headed to bed. Before she went to bed, I told her that I was going to drop her off at school if I wasn't busy. She understood and she went to bed. I called Masako and told her of what I found and told her to meet me there in the early morning. Masako understood and she said that she's going to bring coffee for her and myself and I thanked her.
In the morning, I left before Mai woke up and I left a note for Mai, telling her that I was busy and hope she wouldn't be late for school. I made it to the old school house and me and Masako went inside and decided to check out the second floor before Masako left to meet a client while I was checking the building. I heard Mai's voice and heard Lin's Voice. I came downstairs after hearing a crash. I told Mai to get to School and that I got this and Mai didn't want to leave because of what happened. Kazuya came inside and asked what happened. Mai explained that it was an accident while I checked on my brother Lin. I surprised my brother, Lin, and He let me to take him the hospital and Mai went to her school to at least learn while Kazuya decide on how to let Lin rest. Kazuya let Mai join to at least repay for the broken camera. Kazuya never forgave me, but he finally got my side of the story that I gave his brother, Gene, a warning from my vision like dreams. Lin rested up in the hospital, I went to meet Masako and head to the old school house with her, Ayako, Monk and John came because of the principal, Masako and I came and explain that there isn't any spirits. Monk knew who me and Masako was and even asked why we believe that there isn't any spirits. I told him that Masako and myself would know.
Then Mai's classmate explained that there are spirits here and that she was attacked. I didn't believe her. I still say that there isn't spirits here because there was no deaths that was reported here. Masako and myself went to the second floor and walked around Masako was about to fall and I pulled her close as I took the fall and not her. Masako did get hurt but I took the most of the fall. Mai, Her classmate, Ayako, Monk, John and Kazuya came outside and noticed me and Masako on the ground. I groaned in pain as Mai came over with Monk and Ayako. Mai asked if me and Masako are ok and I just groaned because of the pain. Kazuya called for help as Masako explained that I took most of the fall and said that there aren't any spirits here. I had to go to the hospital to get checked out and see if I can go home for rest. Mai helped to take care of me once I made it home. I face time with Mai when she went to the old school house the next day and I knew that it was the weekend. I was told that Ayako and Monk failed at cleansing the old school house on that day. I was able to come to the old school house and watched as John tried to cleanse the old school house and fail, but was saved by Mai.
