Operation Savage Forrest

Ethan had just arrived at Elemental Hero HQ, and was immediately escorted to the lab by Shadow Mist. In that room, he found Elemental Hero Neos talking to Stratos, with Hyperion in the background. Neos then noticed him and went up to greet him.

"Greetings, Mr. Hono. Glad to make your acquaintance." Neos said, shaking Ethan's hand.

"Likewise, Neos. Now then, what's the situation?" Ethan asked.

"To be honest, not so hot. Scanners have indicated that Remnant was hit with some kind of space-time-distortion thing. Also, at the same time, Ms. Yuno was dueling a robot that exploded and teleported her somewhere. We have reason to believe that she and team RWBY are in Remnant." Neos said.

"So, what's preventing you from picking her up in the first place? You did travel to Remnant before." Ethan asked.

"I'm not sure. There's some kind of blocker. Whatever it is, it's preventing me from traveling to that dimension. Fortunately, where there's a will, there's a way. Shadow Mist is currently working on a solution with Hyperion. Care to elaborate, Mist?" Neos asked.

Mist nodded. She then walked over to a device where Hyperion was standing next to and began typing some inputs. "Hyperion normally has the power to travel beyond space, and other dimensions. However, some other greater force prevents him from doing so. To counteract this, we have to distort the powers that restrict us. That's where this device comes in." Mist then took out a remote and pressed a button. A display of a teleportation gate.

"This portal, or gate was made to amplify Hyperion's powers. With it, we can overwhelm the forces that prevent us from entering." Mist said.

"That sounds great. What's the catch?" Ethan asked, crossing his arms.

"Well, the catch is that in order to bypass the forces, we're powering it with some Dark-Dust crystals we kept to ourselves. Meaning it's running on Nether Energy. It was the only thing that the readings would accept. Mixing it with Hyperion's powers won't hurt him, but it'll corrode the Dust Crystals after being expose to his powers, making them useless. Luckily, we've gathered enough Dust Crystals so that the portal can be use twice. One for entering and the other for the return trip." Mist said.

"Okay. I can see where this plan is going, and the Igknights and I would be happy to help. But why exactly do you need us? You are super heroes with super powers." Ethan asked.

Neos then stepped in to answer that. "That's the problem the Dark Dust Crystals will use different amounts of energy depending on the spirit that enters. Since I'm a galactic super hero with cosmic powers, the Dark Dust Crystals will use more energy for me. However, Pendulum Monsters require less energy when traveling through dimensions. You know, with pendulum summoning technique they can use. Plus, we're kind of short-staffed on heroes right now. You know, the usual. Tyrant overlords, crime bosses. Apocalyptic scenarios. That kind of stuff." Neos said.

"In short, we can send in a total of seven people through there. However, Stratos will be manning a dropship, for evac. Just in case if things get dicey. Also, don't worry about the return trip. Everyone including team RWBY and Anna will make it back." Mist said.

"And since I'm a human, the Dark Dust won't be using a lot energy on me, nor weaker spirits. Also, follow up question. We won't be negatively affected by the Dark Dust, right?" Ethan asked.

"Trust me. If there was any risk of corruption, we wouldn't take it." Hyperion said.

"Ok. So, we go into the portal. Get Annie and RWBY out of there if necessary, and possibly fight any hostiles we come across. Correct?" Ethan asked for clarification.

"That sounds about right." Neos said.

"Well then, you called right people for the job. Just make sure that we get payed. We are mercenaries after all." Ethan said, as he walked away.

"That won't be a problem. Meet us in the hanger bay when your team is ready." Mist said.

(Later)

In the hangar a gigantic gate that was the size hanger door opened up to the outside world, and there was attached to road like construct. There was also a dropship perched inside. Right now, Mist, Stratos, Neos and Hyperion waiting patiently.

"So, Mist. Can I have one of your belts? Stratos asked.

"Sorry. I don't have any on me. A bunch of other HEROES are using them." Mist said.

"Ah. Bummer." Stratos said shrugging.

"Enough talking you two. Get the ship ready. The team is here." Neos said.

Stratos and Shadow Mist nodded, as they entered the ship to get it prepped for lift off. Meanwhile, Gallant and Ethan were making their way over to Neos and Hyperion.

"Please don't tell me this all the back-up you brought, Ethan?" Hyperion jested.

"Certainly not. Gallant isn't even coming with us. He's going to stay her and gives us commands, as he watches through this drone." Ethan said, holding up a drone with a camera.

"You can rest assure that my men will succeed in their mission. And here they come right now." Gallant said.

(Insert BGM: XCOM 2: Squad Loadout theme)

Neos and Hyperion then turned their heads to the direction Neos was pointing. There, they saw Crusader, Lancer, Templar, Cavalier, Lu and K walking forward to them. All them were heavily equipped, even Lu had some extra magician's armor and K had advance goggles on his head. Gallant then signaled them to stop.

"Crusader will act as our scout. He excellent with his gun blade, going in close for melee combat. He's also good at maneuvering around enemies if he so chooses to do so. We also given him a med kit and some Shard rounds, for extra punch." Gallant said.

Crusader drew his blade and swung around a few times, testing to see if it was in good condition. "If we're going up against some baddies, they won't know what'll hit them." He said confidently.

"Lancer is great with his gatling gun. I can assure you that he'll mow down anyone that gets in his way. Provided that he hits of course." Gallant said.

"Also, he's our demo-man." Ethan said.

"It means he's good at blowing stuff up with grenades. We've given him an exo-armor suit, with a special Igknight homing bomb. Meaning he'll tank more damage, with extra boom. Plus, he's carrying two special Igknight Grenades, and one Proximity mine." Ethan said.

Lancer examined his gun, and aimed it at imaginary enemies to check if it felt alright with him. He then took out a grenade launcher that he was given and gave it a good pullback to make sure it was all good. "I'll bring the damage. You can count on that." He said.

"Our next soldier is Templar. He's a sniper of sorts, capable of long-range attacks and he's a good shot as well. Squire was also kind enough to lend him his pistol, just in case if he needed to be quick on the draw. Equipped with a grappling hook, he can get to elevated positions for the high-ground. In addition, the weapon is A.P. packing rounds, just in case. We've also given him a Flashbang, when things get a bit hairy." Gallant said.

Templar, decided to test out his grapple, by firing at a nearby antenna pole. He was then pulled upward, and then came back down. He examined each of his weapons, to make sure nothing was wrong with them. He then pulled back the bolt handle on the rifle to ready it. He only gave a nod showing that he was focused for this mission.

"Cavalier is a skirmisher of sorts. She derringer daggers acts as both melee and mid-range combat weapons. Capable of a variety of maneuvers, and choosing any order of action she wishes. Whether it be firing multiple times, or strategic placement." Gallant said.

"For further advancements, she also has a grappling hook. She can use it for combat purposes as well. We also gave her a standard grenade." Ethan said.

Cavalier took out one of her Derringers and delivered a quick swipe in the air. Underneath her helmet, she gave a cocky smirk. "I'll let my weapons do the talking for me." She said, flipping a Derringer in the air and then catching it.

"And then there's Lu, and K. She may not be an Igknight, but she has proven her worth. Plus, she makes good company. Lu is a spellcaster, meaning she's excellent in dealing with magical items. To a certain extent. K on the other hand acts like an extra pair of hands for her, or an extension of her body to say the least. She'll act as our healer, or a supporting member of the team. One of the subjects she deals with is with Healing Charms. We even gave her a staff that shoots lasers at a fast-rapid pace." Gallant said.

"I'm still unsure about the laser staff, but I can vouch for her utility with magical items in the field. Plus, her wand somehow is a lot more effective against Magical Based enemies." Ethan said.

Lu examined the wand was given, and tried it out. This result her firing multiple lasers into the sky rapidly. She had a surprised look on her face, and no one got hurt. She then nodded giving it an approval. She then looked up at K and gave him a high five. "Trust me, this isn't my first rodeo. Except with the laser staff. I won't let you down, Ethan." She said, while K replied in his Kuriboh language.

"By the way, Ethan. I made something for you." Lu said. She then ran back to the door, and then quickly came back with a duffel bag. Handing it over to Ethan, she had this eager face, which was begging Ethan to open it up. Cautiously, the Inferno Dueler, slowly unzipped the bag and found magical gauntlets. Colored Dark Red, with an orange magic circle on the palm areas. There was also, a flame design on them. Ethan immediately took them out and examined them.

"Go on. Tried them on!" Lu said, smiling.

With that said, Ethan immediately equipped the gauntlets on to his wrists, and activated them. The gauntlets then opened up, as blades made out of fire extended from them, and burned brightly.

"Those gauntlets were a little pet project I was working on during my free time. Of course, some of the other Igknights pitched in and decided to help me out." Lu said.

"It was nothing." Gallant said.

"I'm on with anything that'll cause explosions." Cavalier said.

Lu only giggled as she was proud of her creations. "I'm calling these the Hono Gauntlets. Get it, because your last name, and the Japanese meaning? Hehe. It's a funny thought. Besides the name, these gauntlets help channel Duel Spirit energy. Most Duelists excel in that expertise, and these bad boys just amplifies it. You do a whole bunch of cool things with them! Slice up baddies, block most attacks, fired a chain attack of fire, send arc-waves of fire with each slash, create fire-pillars for defense, and you can even create a fire ghost!" Lu said.

Ethan walked forward and re-activated the Hono Gauntlets and swung them outward a couple of times, until he found a stance suited for him. He then turned to Lu, and gave her a little head pat. "Thank you. I appreciate it." he said. Lu only gave a big grin in return.

The Igknights, Lu and Ethan then lined up and awaited further orders from Gallant. The leader of the Igknights then waved his hands singling them to board. The squad then proceeded to walk aboard the ship, and the rest of began to ascend to the control room. Hyperion remained on the roof, as he began using his powers and the struck the gate with a powerful blast. The gate then formed a portal that crackled with dark electricity from the Dark Dust Crystals. Stratos, who were piloting the ship, quickly took off, and flew passed the rails and into the portal.

"We're in the pipe. Five by five." Stratos said.

While making their way to Remnant, the squad sat in the hanger of the ship as Neos radioed them of their mission.

"Listen up squad. It's most likely that Anna and team RWBY have been transported to Remnant. Under normal circumstances, that wouldn't be much of a problem. However, strange things have been happening there, and we don't what it is. Our objective is to secure Anna and team RWBY. There may be hostile forces, since this may be the work of the Grimm. Good luck out there, and be careful." Neos said.

On the flight, it was quiet. Only the sound of the engines humming was heard. No one knew what they would encounter in the world of Remnant. Would there be hostiles? Most likely. Just your average day for these knights. To ease the tension, Lancer bumped his fist into Crusader's right arm, as Crusader responded by doing the same. Cavalier was flipping some of her daggers in the air to keep her mind occupied. Templar was reading a book. He was hoping he would be able to read the ending. Lu and K were a bit nervous, but they tried not to show it. As for Ethan. He just kept twiddling with his fingers, worried of what they might encounter. When the lights in the hanger then turned red, everyone stopped what they were doing and got ready to disembark.

Once the hangar doors opened, the squad ran out of the door, and rappelled down, using the ropes that were hanging from the door. Mist and Shadow immediately took off, to higher altitude and activated some cloaking tech. Everyone took a moment to take in the environment, and how it was in some kind of trance.

"Is there some sort of mannequin challenge going on here?" Crusader joked.

"Not now, Crusader. If there are enemies here, they might already know that we're here." Templar said.

Everyone nodded in agreement, as the mission had just begun.

Squad Concealed

"Alright. While you're there, we'll use the tech back over here to analyze the surrounding area. Right now, we're detecting signatures of concentrated duel energy. Head to that location there first. Where there's duel energy, there is a duel, and that probably means Anna Yuno and team RWBY are most likely dueling." Neos said.

With that said in mind, the team advance slowly, with Crusader taking the first move. He didn't see anything, at his new position. He then silently signaled everyone else to move upward. Templar and Lancer crouched next to the log Crusader was next to, with Cavalier and Ethan moving to the sides, and Lu remained a little bit back. Everyone took a moment to overwatch the area.

Once everything was clear, Crusader once again moved upward. Only this time, he spotted a group. "Enemy patrol spotted." He said quietly through his comms. The pod of enemies contained three Rifle Marauders, but one of them had a different helmet. It was sharper looking. Probably a unit of higher authority.

"Those creatures, or whatever they are, seem capable of military tactics. The one with the with the sharper helmet seems to be in charge. Must be the foot soldiers of the Grimm." Gallant said.

"Actually, Gallant. I don't think they are Grimm. They lack some characteristics, but it looks as if a dark presence radiates off of them." Neos added.

The Igknights didn't care what they were. They just hoped they weren't bulletproof. Lancer, and moved to the right, out of view of the Marauders. Templar took cover near a big rock, and readied his rifle. Cavalier saw a nearby cliff edge, and dashed over to climb up. Ethan slightly moved to the left and hid behind a tree. Lu then moved up next to Crusader, and was trembling in her magician boots. Crusader noticed and placed his hand on her shoulder. He nodded his head, as a sign saying she'll be alright. Everyone then went on overwatch, as they watch the troops. Unaware of the Igknight's presences, the Marauders slowly advance upward.

"Templar, Lancer, Lu, Crusader. Get your guns ready for reaction fire. Cavalier. Take first blood." Gallant said.

Crusader: "Overwatch."

Templar: "Got it Cover."

Lu: "Come get some."

Lancer: "Eyes on the prize."

Cavalier made ferocious grin on her face, as she then revealed herself. "Here, catch!" Arming herself with the grenade, she immediately threw it towards the group, as it then immediately exploded, damaging all the hostiles. "They're on to us." Cavalier said.

Squad Unconcealed

(Insert Any "XCOM 2 Combat Music")

The Lead Marauder let out a garbled order, telling the other Husks to scatter. What happened next, was a chain attack of destruction. Lancer first took aim, as he then let out a barrage of energy down on one of the husks, successfully destroying him. Templar then took aim with his rifle, and fired a single shot at the other Marauder, but the enemy was quick to dodge, as he was only grazed. Lu on the other hand, was able to clean up the mess, as she used her wand to fire down on the Marauder. Finally, Crusader then stood up and took aim at the Leader, firing a power shot, gravely wounding his foe. The remaining Marauder ran for cover and hid behind a nearby tree.

"Two X-Rays neutralized. One hostile target remaining." Templar said

"Don't worry. I'll take care of this." Ethan said, as he got up from his cover and ran towards the Marauder. "A righteous strike!" he yelled. His fiery blades then opened up, as Ethan cut down the Marauder with a single strike. After his enemy fell, he felt duel energy coursing through him, being more concentrated. He didn't had time though to relax, and he spotted something else. "Hostiles spotted!" he shouted.

Three more enemies were now in sight, with two Marauder, one of them having a sharper head like the other, and a Bone Shaman. Shaman's eyes lite up, as it took notice of the squad. Somehow, its entire body became covered in a cloak of darkness as it then hovered from its current location, to a nearby Ursa, for cover. As for the Rifle Marauders, one went over to a fallen tree for cover, while the other went to a chopped off stump. Seeing that he was flanked by new targets, Ethan ran back to a huge tree stump, which was a bit farther down to the right.

"That does not look normal. Then again, normal isn't something you should expect from these foes." Mist said on the comns.

"I'm on watch." Cavalier said.

Just as everyone got ready to brace a wave of attacks, they felt something sinister. The readings back at Hero HQ began to spike.

"T-these readings. Please tell me it's just a strange fluctuation." Gallant pleaded.

"I'm afraid not Gallant. It's something alive and deadly. Storm Cloud. Use the secondary pod camera to lock on to the signal to get us a good view." Neos said.

Stratos complied and sent the pod to the location of the energy spike. Once the drone made it to its location, a flash of purple light appeared from the sky and struck the ground.

"It's…it's…it's…!" Gallant said, as he tried to make out what was coming out.

"It's a what!?" Cavalier shouted.

"It's…" Gallant stuttered, as he then saw it. What jumped out of the pillar of darkness was none other than Mindy. The Faunus Revenant did front flip in the air, and landed on the ground in a three-point landing pose. "…...A teenage Japanese High Schooler Cat-Girl?" Gallant said confused.

"Are the Grimm starting to resort to sending Yanderes after us now? If so, I hope they don't bring her back." Templar shudder.

"You dated a Yandere?" Lancer asked.

"Long story." Templar replied.

Mindy then got up on her feet, and took out a syringe. "A new world of possibilities awaits us." She then took the syringe and placed it into her arm brace, and injected the liquid. Her eyes then turned bright red, and became feral. "And I'll silence you all to make sure that we do. Unleash." Mindy said quietly. A Dark Burst of energy erupted and surrounded her body, transforming her. Where the quiet and timid Mindy was, stood a ferocious, bipedal armored panther. Mindy let out a snarl, and somehow blended in with the surrounding environment.

"Look alive, men. Our little High-School friend just turned into a Hybrid Panther Warrior." Gallant said.

"Not only that, but she concealed herself somehow in the forest. Be careful. The equipment back here is sensing a lot of Nether Energy coming off of her." Neo said.

"We'll worry about that later. We've got enemy activity here!" Crusader responded.

Nether Activity

The Bone Shaman advanced first, as he then hovered all the way over to Ethan. Cavalier then took aim, but her shots seemed to phase through the Husk, as she clenched her teeth out of frustration. Suddenly, the Husk threw several bones around Ethan and began moving his hands around in a mystical manner. The bones on the ground began to crack, as dark particles began spewing out of them and swirling around Ethan, covering his body. The Inferno Dueler struggled to break free, but it was no use, as his he then lost conscious, and fell to the ground. The Dark Particles then separated from his body, as they then took on Dark Shadow version of Ethan. The clone immediately ran over to nearby spot, that close to the Commanding Marauder, while the Skull Shaman floated away, to another position.

"Damn. That was pretty freaky." Cavalier said.

"Ethan is still alive though. His vitals are still good." Crusader responded.

Lu on the other hand wasn't taking it well. Seeing Ethan lying unconscious like that made her feel uneasy. Her breathing began to increase, with eyes dilating. She began shuddering. "ETHAN GOT SHADOW REALMED!" she yelled.

Lu Panicked

"Lu! This is no time to be panicking! Try to stay calm and…" Gallant yelled desperately.

However, Lu didn't listen, as she immediately ran to a new position, which was farther to the right of her comrades. "TAKE THIS YOU EVIL ABOMINATION OF CALCIUM!" She then took aim with her laser staff, and fired a devastating blast to the Bone Shaman damaging him significantly, by attacking a critical point, and with the extra boost from her special wand.

"…. Good work, Lu. But, try to pull yourself together. Ethan will be alright." Gallant said.

Lu only began breathing heavily, while K tried to calm her down. Up next, the Commander Marauder then issued a command to the other troops, and pointed at Lancer. Lancer's body was then highlighted in the Husks' eyes.

"Brace for impact, Lancer! They're targeting you!" Gallant yelled.

Lancer then spotted the Marauder Commander taking aim at him, and was immediately struck with a nasty blast. "Arrgh. That's going to sting." He said.

The other two Marauders then followed up and took aim as well. Lancer was able to dodge the second attack, only receiving a graze. "Thank goodness I have this armor. I still might need a med-kit in a moment." Lancer said, as he tried to ignore the pain.

"Alright team. This looks a bit messy. Clean it up with a counter attack! Light them up, Lancer!" Gallant yelled.

"Heads down!" Lancer said. He took out his grenade launcher and readied it for firing. Aiming it at the correct angle, he fired the Igknight's special flame grenade, towards the two Marauders and Shaman who were grouped up just enough. The bomb went off, as fire surrounded the Husks, damaging them, and destroying most of their cover. The Enemies then caught fire, as they desperately tried to put it out.

Templar then decided to follow up, as he used this opportunity to take aim at the lower ranked Marauder damaging him. After that, he figured that the burns should take him out soon.

Opportunity has also shown itself for Crusader, as he did a full dash, running up to the Bone Shaman, and slicing him in half. "Who's keeping score?" He said. In doing so, the Shadow Clone of Ethan immediately disappeared, and the real Ethan regain consciousness and stood back up.

"Geez. My head feels like it's been in a washing machine." Ethan said, while rubbing the back of his head. He immediately shook off the dizziness and focused on the battle at hand.

Cavalier then noticed where the Commanding Marauder was, and pull him out of his cover. "You have been judged!" she yelled. She then fired her grappling hook, and successfully got ahold of the Marauder and yanked it towards her. Once the Husk was in range, Cavalier struck him with a lethal attack, causing her enemy to kneel on the ground. Afterwards, she fired multiple shots for extra damage.

Cavalier turned to Ethan, and gesture her head, which translated to "Get your bum over here now!" Ethan immediately understood what she meant. "A strike of power!" he yelled. After a long dash and a climb, Ethan used his gauntlets to tear down his foe right where he should. "One down, thousands to go." He said. After that, Lu finally managed to calm down, and the remaining Marauder fell, due to the burn damage he took from the grenade.

It was now calm. No firing shots, no action. However, everyone knew that Mindy was still out there, and that they still need to find Anna and team RWBY.

"Is it clear?" Lu asked.

"Not for long. This was just the welcoming committee. We still have to meet the other attendants." Ethan said.

"Yeah. Not to mention we have a special guest with us." Lancer said, while he reloaded his weapon. Lu then moved up closer and asked K to heal Lancer. K immediately flew over to Lancer, and placed a charm on him, allowing K to heal Lancer.

Templar then moved up and reloaded his rifle, while Cavalier and Crusader did the same. "Just keep your eyes peeled, and your ears opened. You'll never know when the enemy will strike." Templar said.

After everyone reloaded their weapons, they began to advance forward. Crusader then decided it was best to scout ahead, so he used his armor's ability to re-conceal himself. "I was never here." He quietly said. After advancing forward, he managed to spot another patrol.

"Enemy patrol spotted." He said quietly. This time, he saw two Stun Shockers and a Lancer Knight.

"Those swords look like they can generate shocks of concentrated Nether energy. They're probably powerful enough to knock one of you guys out if you're not careful." Mist said.

"Not to mention that Knight looks quite sturdy. It's probably going to take a lot of shots to bring him down." Stratos said.

Knowing this, Templar spotted an Atlassian outpost, and used his grapple to move up, to the inside, while breaking the glass. There were also an Atlassian solider in there, but he was frozen. "Taking the high road." He said. Afterwards, Templar activated his advance sights in his helmets, as it then highlighted a cone of vision. "Area on Lockdown." He said.

"Alright, Lancer. Now that we know where the enemies' position is, you can move in carefully for another grenade blast. Move to these coordinates." Gallant said.

"Stepping off." Lancer replied. After settling into his new cover, Lancer took out his Grenade launcher and began adjusting it for the perfect angle.

"A little bit to the left. Tilt it about fifteen degrees upward. Darn trees are blocking the projectile arc. Wait! Stop! That's the perfect angle! Light'em up!" Gallant shouted through the comns.

"Fire in the hole!" Lancer said, as he fired the grenade. Whistling past the trees, the grenade landed right between the three Husks, and exploded in their faces. It did a significant amount of damage to the Stun Shockers, but unfortunately the Lancer Knight's armor absorbed most of the blast. The Lancer Knight then immediately took notice an issued an order to the Stun Shockers. The group then made a dash for cover. Templar immediately began taking shots, with the first bullet completely missing the first Stun Shocker. "Hrrgh. Get it together." He told himself. He immediately took another shot at the other Lancer and managed to graze him, just a little, since he dodged. "Only winged him." The final shot was then fired at the Lancer Knight, making a clean shot. The only problem was that most of the armor absorbed it. "Hard target, minimal damage!" Templar said in frustration.

"The big one looks like he's going to be trouble. However, those stunnies are troublesome as well." Gallant said.

"Stunnies?" Hyperion asked.

"I tend to give enemies nicknames under stress. We're going have to hammer them with a lot of damage. Ethan. Start with the weaker Stunnie." Gallant ordered.

"Roger that. Feel the power of the Igknights!" Ethan shouted. He then ran towards the nearest Stun Shocker, and delivered a single strike, ending him. After that, duel energy began charging up within him.

"Well done. Just hold position there. We won't be able to take out the big one just yet. Cavalier. At your current position, your shots aren't good. Instead, go on watch. Same goes for your as well, Lu." Gallant said.

"I'm on it." Cavalier said.

"Covering fire." Lu said.

Nether Activity

In response to seeing the new intruders, the Lancer Knight was first to move. Taking their re-action shots, Cavalier unloaded several rounds of energy blasts from her derringers into the Husk, but the damage was reduced by the armor. "That armor is tough!" Cavalier shouted.

Lu on the other hand missed the shot, as the recoil caused her to roll back. Fortunately, some of the lasers the wand fired, did some damage to the Husk. Lu then got back up and then noticed that the knight was charging up energy in his lance. "That doesn't look good." She said.

"Kurrri." K said in agreement.

The Knight then thrusted his spear into the air, calling forth a purple lighting from the sky, which then struck the ground where Lu and Cavalier stood. The two screamed in pain, as everything around them got blown up.

"We're getting flanked here!" Cavalier yelled.

"We need a medic! Oh wait. I'm the medic." Lu said. Cavalier only face palmed at that remark.

That wasn't the end of it. The remaining Stun Shocker began moving on double time, and made its towards Lancer. Moving within Templar's line of sight, Templar took another shot, and bullet pierced the Shocker's body, but he still had enough vitality to keep moving. Without any time to react to the quick speed of the Stun Lancer's attack, managed to shock Lancer's body, knocking him out. "V-vison, blurry. Electricity shocking. S-s-self narration. Not helping." He said, as he collapsed to the ground.

"LANCER! Gosh darn it!" Templar yelled.

"He's still breathing. At least's that's good." Crusader said.

Revenant Action

Suddenly, Crusader felt a cold chill run up his body. He heard deep breathing from something. When he turned around, he at first saw nothing. But then, air in front of him began to distort, as black traces of nether energy fell off of something. It was none other than Mindy, in her Panther form, staring down on Crusader, with her claws sharpened.

Crusader Revealed

Crusader only stared at Mindy with a blank look, and sighed. "This is going to hurt." He said in a monotone voice. Mindy then raised her paw and swiped at Crusader, knocking him to the ground, dazed and wounded.

Mindy only let out a growl, as she then ran back to a faraway position to analyze the situation. Although most of her cognitive thought is nullified due to her transformation, she retains the instincts of a keen hunter. Capable of making smart and wise decisions in a fight.

"It's that Were-panther girl. We'll need to take her out first before we can locate Anna and team RWBY." Neos said.

"Neos. We've just finished analyzing the threat. Its movement speed is so quick that none of the Igknights will be able to take any reaction attacks on it. Her claws are deadly as well, and seem to generate the same form of Nether energy we've seen from these other enemies as well, but can do it in a much stronger attack. It would be wise for them to try and spread out as quickly as possible. Her armor is also going to be a problem, as it seems to have self-regenerating properties. To make matters worse, melee attacks are useless against her. But there is good news. Apparently, if you can get in close enough, you might be able to do a ton of damage. To add the cherry on top, Cavalier's weapons are perfect to fight against it" Mist said.

"Alright Igknights. Priority number one is to get Lancer and Crusader back on their feet, and we need to get healing spread out asap. Lu! I know it's a bit early to use the big spell! But I'm not taking any chances! Use your Restoration Spell! Now!" Gallant shouted.

"You can count on me, Gallant. Alright, K. It's time to make everyone feel better now. Go medical." Lu said.

"Kuurri!" K replied. The kuriboh then flew over to where Lancer was, and then placed a little charm on Lancer's, and did the same for Crusader. He then flew back over to Cavalier and Lu and gave them different charms.

"May your souls be rejuvenated, and filled with courage to fight on. Complete restore!" Lu chanted. She couldn't come up with a good name for the spell.

"Body, feeling stronger. Strength, returning. Self-narration, going away." Lancer said, as he got back up on his feet, feeling better and his wounds were healed. "Thanks for that, Lu!" he shouted.

Crusader also got back up on his feet, and was healed as well. Cavalier and Lu had their wounds patched up. Lu then gave K a high five.

Templar, who was still in the watch tower, then spotted where the Stun Shocker was. His hands moved quickly, and fired a pistol shot at Husk, putting it down. "You can't handle me."

Lancer was then given an order to move closer to the Husk Knight, to shred the armor. "Getting it done." He replied, as he made his way towards the knight, but not to close. Once he was in good range, Lancer let out a barrage of energy towards the Knight, but completely missed it. "Negative damaged."

Gallant only placed his right hand on his forehead and sighed. And he then realized that Lu wasn't in cover, but standing out in the open out of cover. "Alright now. This is, salvageable. Crusader. Do you have a shot on the Knight?" Gallant asked.

"Yeah. But it'll be somewhat of a fifty-fifty shot." Crusader said.

"Better than nothing. Ok. Here's what you guys are going to do. Cavalier will move up, and attack the knight with her whiplash attack, and then take a shot. Ethan will then slice him up. Actually, Templar's AP Rounds should do the trick. How's the shot?" he asked.

"I say around a 73 percent. I'm going to take it." Templar said. Aiming down his sights, he fired the shot and landed a clean shot. The shot also bypassed the armor, dealing significant damage to it. Seeing an opportunity, Lu asked K to fly over to the Knight to deal, using a lightning charm. K nodded his head, and flew over to the knight undetected, and delivered a devastating shock to its armor, putting it down.

"That's right." Lu replied.

"Kuri." K said.

"Well done guys. Now to handle the panther. Let her have it, Ethan." Gallant said.

"Suffer my rage!" Ethan shouted, as he delivered a swift strike to Mindy, wounding her. However, upon doing so, he discovered more enemies. "Incoming hostiles!" he shouted.

The group consisted of one Marauder, a Necro Shaman that was colored differently, and another Lancer Knight. The three enemies then spread out to different locations, ready for combat.

The Igknights were a bit frustrated that they had deal with more enemies. Crusader felt strongly about it. "Running and Gunning!" he shouted, as he made a dash to a nearby cliff, and climbed. Taking aim at the Marauder that was below him, the Shard Rounds in his weapon activated, dealing lethal damage to the Marauder, killing the Husk. "It's dead. It has to be dead!" he said.

Cavalier and Lu were a bit far behind, as Cavalier advance upward, and reloaded her weapon. Lu on the other hand decided to give Ethan some Aid, by sending K over to provide extra defense.

Nether Activity

Just then, out of the blue, something else showed up. Another group of enemies emerged to the right side of Igknights. It was two Nether Husk – Colossus. The two hulking monsters spotted the fight, and let out a loud roar, as they slam their fists on to the ground. They then charged towards the battlefield, with only the intent to smash.

"Probably the muscle of this army. Although, there is something strange about their magical structure." Neos said.

"If anything, they're starting to look like damage sponges. This is bad." Mist said.

"Eh. We've been through worst. Right, guys?" Gallant asked.

"Yeah. We Igknights can dish out the pain and we can take the pain." Lancer said.

"Trust me. The only unfortunate souls are the ones who went up against me and my daggers." Cavalier said.

"Hey, fellas. I hate to interrupt a good motivation pep-talk, BUT WE GOT PROBLEMS THAT NEED FIXING!" Templar yelled.

Everyone then nodded as they would take about it later. The first one to move was the Necro Shaman. Being a different color, it did something different from the last one. It then threw several bone shards onto the ground, and began waving its staff in the air. The bones then dug themselves into the ground. Suddenly, ground beneath Lancer's feet erupted, as a skeletal body emerged from below and wrapped itself around Lancer's body. "Hey! I can't move. The skeleton thing is controlling me!" he yelled.

Lancer is, Skeleton Controlled?

It wasn't the end of it though, the Knight began moving upwards. He then spotted Crusader, and began hammering away at him. However, right now, Crusader's armor reacted for a shot while, making him invulnerable for that moment.

Revenant Action

Energy in Mindy's hands began to build up with energy, as two pillars of Nether energy emerged next to her, as Two Stun Shockers appeared. One of them drew their swords and let out a garbled battle cry, and they both ran off in different directions. However, one of them was foolish enough to run past Ethan, who attacked him with a fierce slash, although he was still running. Afterwards, Mindy disappeared and was out of sight.

"I lost sight of her." Ethan said.

"And I just saw something new! It's a rift portal!" Lu shouted. Everyone then turned their heads toward where Lu pointed to, and saw that massive amounts of Nether Energy were gathering in one single point. "That means more enemies. Yaaaaay." Lu said sarcastically, while giving out the jazz hands.

"We'll worry about it later. There are multiple problems to deal with but they should be done in a certain order. First is freeing Lancer, before he starts attacking us. Templar. Reposition, to new high ground to get a good shot on that weird Bone Mage." Gallant order.

"Throwing the hook!" Templar shouted. He then used his grapple hook to reposition to a new rock structure. He then ran over to edge and spotted the Bone Shaman, and fired a pistol shot at the Shaman, weakening him. Crusader immediately ran up to the Shaman and delivered a swift strike, ending its life, and his armor then absorbed energy for the next incoming attack.

"Did you see that?" Crusader said. After that, the skeletal bounds on Lancer began to wither away, freeing him.

"Awesome. Lancer! Launch the Proximity Mine at the void rift area!" Gallant said.

"They're in for a nasty surprise." Lancer said with a sly smile. Using his grenade launcher, he sent his last ordinance flying into the air, as it landed on the ground, near the rift.

Cavalier then reposition to another cover, where she had view of every single enemy in sight, and where she would be able to see future incoming threats. "The Battle-lord has arrived." She said.

Lu on the other hand gave K a charm and sent it over to the Knight. Unaware of a little fuzzball flying over to him, K was able to sneak up from behind and place the charm on its back.

KURI GRANTED

Seeing her options, the Knight's magical score was low enough for a guarantee stun. She could go for a takeover with her own magic, but she didn't want to risk it. Using her staff, she chanted the spell, and nullified the magical properties of the Knight. If you're wondering why she could do this to the Knight and not the other Husks, is because the Knight is using more magical energy, and her charms only work on highly magical concentrated foes. The spell caused the Knight to kneel over and become stun for a short period of time. "I bought us some time. You better not waste it!" Lu shouted.

"We certainly won't." Ethan said, as he then turned to one of Stun Shockers. "You will pay the price!" he said with zeal, as his blades cut down the Stun Shocker putting it down for good.

Nether Activity

There was no time to rest, as the Void Rift's energy expanded, as a high-ranking Nether Husk – Rifle Marauder, another Rifle Marauder, and a Stun Shocker appeared. The leading Marauder then gave a hand single and an order to both of the lower-class Marauders, as they all began to scatter. Just then, the Proximity Mine that they were standing on, blew up, causing explosion damage to the three Husks. Cavalier immediately reacted upon this as she then used her hook and latch it on Stun Shocker that came in with the group, and pulled him in.

"Face Justice!" She yelled, as the hook latched onto her target, and pulled him in, and delivered a strike to the head with her daggers, and burning him. While the other Rifle Marauder was running to take cover, Cavalier then used her Derringers to fire multiple shots into Stun Shocker she was facing, ending the Husk's life.

Cavalier then spotted the Captain, and made a devilish smirk. "Tactical movement." She said in a sly tone. She then aimed her hook at the Captain, and instead of pulling him in, she instead pulled herself over to the Captain. The Marauder tried to pull out his gun against her, but Cavalier used the rope of the grapple to throw him off balance, and struck him in the head, with the back of one her daggers, staggering him. "Alright then. Who's next?" she asked.

To answer her question, the other Stun Shocker began making a dash at her. He then drew his sword and thrusted it towards Cavalier. However, Cavalier threw one of her daggers at the Husk's arm, causing him to serve off his target and miss. "So, close. But close isn't good enough to beat me, as she unleashed a rapid fire of energy bullets into the Stun Shocker's body, doing critical damage, completely destroying him.

Up next, one of the Colossus came running at Ethan, and threw out a devastating punch at him, but Ethan used his blades to parry the incoming attack, but still felt the pressure. "I'm okay. For now." Ethan said.

Cavalier then took another action to fire on the Commanding Marauder, but the tremor from the Colossus' attack threw her off balance only grazing her target. "Darn it." she scowled.

Meanwhile, the second Colossus let out a fierce battle cry, and ran all the way over to Ethan, and slammed both of fists into Ethan, making the Duelist cry out in pain. "Arrgh. That actually hurts." He said, shocked from the amount of damage he took. As for Cavalier, she tried firing at the Captain Marauder, but only heard clicks, realizing she had to reload, which she immediately did.

Ethan however fought back, as it turned into blade storm of attacks, as he struck both of the Colossi, but it only made them even angrier.

Revenant Action

All of a sudden, Mindy reappeared, to the location of where Crusader and Templar were. She claws began glowing with Nether based energy, with sparks flying off. She then crossed her arms, and them outwards to the sides, sending out a wave of Nether Energy towards Crusader and Templar. The two Igknights screamed in pain, as they were then swept off their feet and knocked down onto the ground, leaving them dazed. To make matters worse, it appears the damage that Ethan had dealt to her a while go had healed.

"Lu! Use the Revival Charm on Templar!" Gallant ordered.

"Go help him, K!" Lu asked. K nodded as he then flew over to where Templar was, and placed the charm on it the. Lu then chanted a spell, causing the charm to let out a magical shock through Templar's body, allowing him to recover. Templar immediately dropped down from his original position and went over to where Crusader was.

"Stay with me, Crusader. You can take a nap when we get back home." Templar said.

"Uuuhhhh. What's…going on?" Crusader asked.

Crusader is disoriented.

Templar then saw where Mindy was, and then used his pistol, and fired a total of three shots at her. Mindy then took notice and immediately bended backwards to dodge the bullets, Matrix style.

"Damn. For a berserk Were-panther, she has good reflexes." Templar said, bewildered.

"That, or your aim stinks." Cavalier said, as she unloaded two shots into the Captain, putting him down.

"Really? Do you really have to be like that right now?" Templar asked.

"Everyone has different ways of coping with stress. This is my method." Cavalier said.

"Guys. We don't have time for this. Crusader. Do you think you can take the shot?" Gallant asked.

"M-maybe. Wait. Why are there two panthers?" Crusader asked. Apparently, he was still disoriented. He tried attacking Mindy, but he was too disoriented, as he missed her.

"Eh. It was worth a shot. Lancer. Use the Blaster Bomb! Those Giants and the Panther are in the blast Radius! Let it loose! Also, try not to hit Ethan." Gallant yelled.

"Boom!" Lancer replied. He then raised his left arm, activating the launcher. It then shot out a red orb of energy, which weaved and turned around almost every obstacle. Once it reached its location, it then blew up into a red burst of energy damaging everything within it's radius. The Colossi began to show signs of becoming weaker, and the explosion also caused Mindy to regain control for a while.

"You…will receive…no mercy." Mindy said, as her panther-instincts kicked back in.

Ethan then moved to attack the other Marauder. "I will tear you apart!" he yelled, as he ran over to the Husk, and attacked him with his blades. Lu then asked K to fly over to Ethan, and patch him up, while Ethan remained put.

Nether Activity

First, the Marauder tried to reposition to a new location, but Ethan let loose and struck him down. The Knight then begun showing signs of regaining control of its body, which may prove to be a problem soon. The first Colossus then let out a roar, as it then charged towards Ethan again. Ethan the readied his blades and blocked the attack, and did a counterattack, slicing the monster.

The second Colossus set his sights on Crusader instead, as it then charged towards him. Crusader tried to strike back, but his head was still messed up from Mindy's last attack, and was struck with a heavy blow from the Husk. "Yikes. Going to feel that in the morning."

Revenant Action

Mindy's armor began healing herself, allowing her to recover a little of her health. She then climbed a nearby formation and did something different. In her right hand, an orb of dark energy and she then threw at both Crusader and Templar, blinding them with Darkness.

"I can't see anything!" Templar shouted.

"She turned off the lights!" Crusader shouted.

To make matters worse, another rift appeared on the field, meaning more reinforcements were on their way. "You've got to be kidding me." Gallant said to himself.

"Feeling alright, Gallant?" Lu asked.

"Y-yeah. I'm fine. I'm just a little annoyed. Alright then. Let's begin cleaning up this mess. Crusader. Fall back and heal yourself up. Lu, send K to provide Threat Assessment to Crusader. Templar, fall back as well. Make a full dash if you have to. Lancer, Ethan, Cavalier. Focus your attacks on that single giant, the one that's attacking Ethan." Gallant ordered.

"Running!" Templar shouted, as he ran back to find some cover, until his vision was restored.

"Patching myself up." Crusader said, as he used the healing charm on himself.

"Alright, K. Go help Crusader." Lu said.

"Kuri!" K said, as he saluted.

Cavalier then moved in closer to a position where she had a full view of the Colossus. "Fear the lash!" she yelled, as she then fired a flaming lash at the Husk. However, the Colossus managed to evade it despite its large size. After that she then took a shot at the Husk, but missed as well.

"Blast it. Tricky bastard." Cavalier said.

"Or maybe your aim just sucks." Templar said in a sly tone.

"Har. Har. Very funny, Templar. Very funny." Cavalier responded while she reloaded. Templar only grinned.

"Don't worry, Cavalier. I got ya covered." Lancer shouted, as he aimed his Gatling gun at the Husk, and unleash a torrent of bullets at the Husk, hitting the Mark. Ethan then came in for the final strike and cut down the Husk, as the rocks began to crumble to the ground.

"Hostile pacified." Ethan said.

"Um. Is it just me, or are those rocks moving on their own?" Lu asked.

Everyone then turned their attention to where the Husk fell, to see it's remains vibrating. The rocks began levitating off the ground, and reformed into two mini Colossi. Their arms them morphed into hard hitting boulders, as they all let out little roars, ready to pound something.

"Great. They come in fun-size. And they other one hasn't split yet." Cavalier said. After that was said, Lu aimed her wand at one of the Mini-Husks and fired a laser at it, and missed, but managed to do some damage with the stock.

"*sigh* This just isn't our lucky day." Lu said.

"Don't worry, Lu. That's what we said on our last mission. But everyone came back home alive on that mission. So, as long as we play it smart, we'll be okay." Lancer said.

Just then the rift then opened up, as another Colossus, and two Lancer Knights appeared. One of the Lancer Knights made a command, and the units then spread out.

"Nothing is ever easy in life. You have to work and earn what you want in life." Lancer said in a stern tone.

"That sounds rough." Lu said.

"Listen, Lu. If you want to truly live, you must walk among the path of thorns, suffer and endure the pain of hard-work and determination." Cavalier said, sounding serious about it.

Nether Activity

The blindness on both Templar and Crusader had worn off. However, the Lancer Knight that Lu had shutdown has now reawakened, and is ready for action. The Knight then advanced forward. With the help of K, Crusader was able to identified the threat, and react upon the knight's movement, firing a single shot, damaging the knight. It wasn't enough though, as the Knight then raised its lance into the air, and called upon a savage lighting strike down onto Crusader and Templar, who were shocked to the bone. You could even see their skeletons for a brief moment.

"Now that lightning was really shocking compared to other electric attacks we faced." Templar said.

"Nah. That Thunder Dragon we went up against had better electrical attacks." Crusader said, as his body twitched a little from the aftershock.

The mini Colossi then began targeting Ethan, and Ethan counterattacked with two consecutive blade attacks, one for each foe. Ethan managed to block one of the attacks, but was struck in the back by one of the Mini Colossus. As for the Giant Colossus, he began charging at Crusader and ready it's fists for a powerful strike. However, K used his own body to block the blow of one of the attacks. The strike caused K to bounce off of the ground and sent tumbling back. He was still alive, as most Kuriboh bodies are able to withstand most punishment, and they are surprisingly bouncy. Crusader however used this opportunity to deliver a swift sword attack to the Husk, causing the Husk to reel back in pain.

"You okay, K?" Crusader asked.

"K-kuri." K said, waving his claw in the air.

"I'll take that as a yes." Crusader replied.

Revenant Action

It wasn't over yet, as Mindy made her next move. Her hunter's instincts immediately targeted Ethan, as she sensed that his body was on the verge on giving out. She then quickly sprinted across the field and her claws began to glow with dark energy. Ethan then turned around to see Mindy's overwhelming panther form, towering over him, as she raised her claws. With a swift slash across the chest, Ethan was sent flying off the ground, with blood spilling to the ground. He was then sent tumbling onto the ground, and he felt pain all over his body. His vision began to blacken. He tried to get up, but his body was becoming numb, and the wounds he had taken had begun to take their toll. All the Igknights looked at Ethan, with shocked and worried expressions. Lu however was waiting for something.

"Come on, come on, come on, come on. Please work." Lu whispered to herself.

Suddenly, the Gauntlets on Ethan's forearms began to emit a fiery aura from them. The flaming energy somehow lifted Ethan off of the ground, and then placed him on his knees. The flames then formed a dome around him and began healing his wounds.

"Yeeeeeessssssss! It worked! The Sustain function worked!" Lu shouted to the top of her lungs.

"What the heck was that, Gallant?" Neos asked.

"It's a little trick that Lu installed into the Hono Blades. She calls it the Sustaining Function. What it does is that whenever the user would, well, die, the gauntlets will tap into a large amount of unused Duel Energy in the user's body, and generate a stasis shield around them, and heal them from the brink of death. It requires a large amount of Duel Energy to use, so only people who can channel it properly can use the function. Fortunately, even before joining the Igknights, Ethan has been channeling his Duel Energy for a long time, and there is another factor." Gallant said.

"And what might that be?" Neos asked.

"It's personal for him. I'm in no position to tell you. Anyways, the Sustain function can only be used for a limited time since the amount of Duel Energy required to use it is massive." Gallant replied.

"Technically, it won't heal him completely, but hey! It's better than being dead." Lu said.

The fire dome that surrounded Ethan then disappeared, as he began to regain his senses and the ability stand back up. Although he felt a little be weak, he still had the will to keep on fighting. "D-did I just died?" he asked.

"You almost did. Lucky for you, your Duel Energy and the Hono Gauntlets saved ya." Lancer said.

Ethan didn't really know how to respond to that. "Ok then. Back to business." He said, as he repositioned into a combat stance. Right now, the odds were stacked against the Squad. Mindy had just repositioned to a new area, and the Knights were ready to attack, and probably with their lighting attacks. Not to mention that there were two more Colossi on the field and they have yet to split into two. Things looked bleak, but it wasn't impossible. Gallant was now trying to strategize how to get out of this horrible situation. Just then, footsteps were heard, and whoever was making the sound was heading towards where Ethan was. Everyone then prepared themselves to face whatever enemy they had to deal with. Ethan raised his arms and prepared to strike, and then the figure emerged.

"Salutations!"

Standing in front of Ethan, was a Ginger-haired girl, with green accents on her clothing. It was the last thing he expected to find on the battlefield. "My name's Penny. It's a pleasure to meet you. What's your name?" Penny asked, as she extended her hand out for a handshake.

"Uh…Ethan." Ethan replied, accepting the handshake.

"Ethan. That's a nice name. My name's Penny. It's a pleasure to meet you." Penny replied. She then glanced over Ethan's shoulder noticing the other Igknights, Husks, and Mindy.

"You, just said that." Ethan said as he took a step back.

Penny blinked a couple of times before responding. "So, I did. Who are your friends?" she asked.

"Not all of them are my friends. Cavalier, Crusader, Lancer, Templar, Lu and K, are my allies. Everything else is an enemy." He said as he pointed to his allies in the following order. "Also, mind telling me what you're doing in a place like this?" he asked.

"I'm on an assignment to test my skills. You?" Penny replied.

"Technically, we're on a rescue op. Trying to locate Anna, and team RWBY, but we have to…" Ethan was then interrupted as Penny leaned in closer to his face.

"Did you just say team RWBY? Whose team leader is Ruby?" Penny asked, sounding more intrigued.

Ethan was a bit taken back by how Penny was just up close in his face. "Uuuuuhhhhh…yes?" he replied.

"That's wonderful! I'm one of Ruby's friends! And if you're trying to rescue her, that means you must be a good friend!" Penny exclaimed with joy.

"I wouldn't say were that close. We're more like…acquaintances." Ethan muttered. Right now, the Igknights and Lu couldn't help but hold in their laughter of how socially awkward Ethan was.

"That means you're her friend!" Penny said.

Lu then decided to chime in. "Yeah, totally! They're good friends! Buddies till the end." She said.

"LU!" Ethan exclaimed.

"Oh, how wonderful! A friend of Ruby's is a friend of mine! You also said that you need to rescue Ruby. If that the case, allow me to help you!" Penny said sounding more excited.

"Um…no offense, Penny. You don't like you're suited for combat. Then again, assuming that you live here, attire doesn't really define how you fight. Ruby and Weiss do wear skirts after all." Ethan said.

"They wear combat skirts, Ethan. Totally different from normal skirts." Lu said.

"You don't have to worry about a thing, Ethan. I'm combat ready!" Penny said. Her face then made a serious look as she then walked towards the battlefield.

(Resume BGM)

The Squad were worried, but yet interested in what Penny was about to do. Penny stood face to face with all three Lancer Knights. Her back-pack then opened up as multiple green swords emerged. She then propelled herself towards one of the Knights and delivered a chain attack of slashes to it, and then sent her swords flying in a disk like motion, attacking all three Lancer Knights on the field, as well as destroying one that was in front of her. In the process. Ethan, Lu, K, Neos, Stratos, Mist and the Igknights jaw dropped after seeing that happened. Cavalier didn't but only whistled.

"I'm starting to like this chick." Cavalier said.

"I'm not a bird, Ms. Cavalier. I'm a real human girl." Penny replied, in a cheery tone.

"Well, that just happened." Templar said.

"First of all. Thank you for assistance, Penny. Alright men! This girl gave us the edge we need to win this fight! Templar, grapple back and go Serial on those Knights!" Gallant ordered!

"Taking the High road!" Templar said, as he grappled to his new position. He then adjusted his aim on one of the Knights, and fired the shot, destroying the Knight. Templar swiftly pulled the bolt back, on his gun, and immediately fired another shot, destroying the final Knight. "Who's keeping score?" he said.

"Lancer! Rupture the Colossus that is close to Crusader! Templar, use your final shot to soften it up for Crusader!" Gallant ordered.

"This is going to hurt!" Lancer said. Taking aim, he reloaded his gun and set it to maximum damage output. He then unleashed every single bit of ammo he had in his gun, dealing a significant amount of damage to it. Templar immediately set his sights onto the Husk and fired a shot, brining the Colossus closer to death. Crusader then used his blade to cut down the monster to size, and it then crumbled to the ground. However, just like before, the remains of the monster immediately reformed into two mini Colossi.

"We're not falling for that trick again! Ethan! Used that ghost skill that Lu was talking about earlier." Gallant said.

"How do I do that?" Ethan asked.

"Simple. You find a dead corpse, concentrate your duel energy over the lingering life-force of said corpse and manifest the fire-ghost from it." Lu said cheerfully.

Ethan didn't know how to exactly respond to that, but he wasn't here to question tactics. He then spotted a Stun Shocker's body, and did exactly what Lu told him to do. "Rise to my command!" he said, as an astral-fiery version of himself rose up. The ghost then ran up to one of the Mini-Colossi that was next to attacked it, and stood next to Crusader as the two readied their blades.

"Cavalier! Pump some damage into that other Giant! Lu heal Ethan and then do the same thing!" Gallant ordered.

Cavalier did as she was ordered and fired two rounds of ammunition into the Colossus. K then flew over to Ethan, and placed a healing charm on him, healing most of his wounds. Lu then took aim with her laser staff, and managed to land a hit on the Colossus.

Nether Activity

Just then three more hostiles began making their way towards the battlefield. Two Marauders and one Stun Shockers. The Stun Shocker issued an order to the Marauders and group advanced forward. The Mini-Colossi that were next to Ethan began attacking them, but Ethan countered attacked with his blades, completely destroying them. As for Crusader and the Fire-Ghost, they two counterattacked the Mini-Colossi that were attacking them, with swift sword strikes and cut them down to size.

"Check it before you get close." Crusader said.

"How many is that now?" Ethan asked. He lost count of how many foes have fallen so far.

Meanwhile, the remaining Colossus spotted Penny, due to her bright colored clothing, and immediately charged at her. Penny saw the Husk coming at her, and immediately dodged it, by propelling herself backwards, with her jet boosters on her feet. "That was a close one." She said, while smiling innocently.

"Is every kid in this world trained to fight in a flashy method?" Lancer questioned.

"Just roll with it. We've seen crazier stuff in our line of work." Gallant said.

Revenant Action

Mindy then gathered Nether Energy in her hands, and summoned forth two more Stun Shockers, who immediately charged towards to the battlefield. After that, she then turned invisible, waiting to strike at the right moment.

Penny immediately turned around to see the new threats that have arrived. She only let out a playful smile, and sent her swords flying towards the group, creating an enclosed circle, attacking everything that was in it. The Marauders and the single Stun Shocker all got shredded, to a sliver of their health.

Cavalier right now was laughing and clapping her hands. "Damn! This girl got mad skills! Now I really want to see what else she could do." She said, sounding impressed.

"Like what? Fly? Shoot a gigantic laser beam?" Ethan asked.

"Yes. I can do both." Penny replied.

"Seriously!?" Ethan and some of the Igknights exclaimed.

Penny only nodded her head a couple of times, with a gleeful smile.

After hearing that, Cavalier had a huge grin on her face. "We're definitely seeing that. No retreat!" she yelled, as her Combat Presence gave Penny more energy to move forward.

"Ok. I'll do my best!" Penny said. The swords on her back then formed a jetpack, as she then launched herself into the air, and landed at a new location. Spotting both the Stun Shockers that were summoned by Mindy and the Husk, Penny arranged her swords into a ring as green energy began to charge up in the center. She then reeled both of her arms back, then thrusted them forward, firing a gigantic green laser beam, severing the Colossus and the Stun Shockers with a single strike. She even got Mindy, who able to survive the blast, but had taken a huge amount of damage, as her cloaking was disabled. Of course, the Colossus began to reform into two Mini-Colossi once more. Everyone else was just speechless after seeing what Penny had just accomplished.

"The people of Remnant are kind of awesome." Templar remarked.

"And destructive. Is she some kind of robot?" Lancer questioned.

"Nope. I'm fully 100% human. I'm a real girl." Penny quickly replied.

"…Works for me." Lancer said, shrugging.

Gallant analyzed the situation at hand, and saw the light at the end of the tunnel, of this battle. "Crusader! The enemy is vulnerable! Become the Reaper and destroy them all!" he ordered.

"It's killing time!" Crusader said. Drawing his blade, he charged towards the weakened and performed multiple consecutive slashes, bringing death to the enemies. One by one, the two Marauders and the three Stun Shockers fell to his blade. He then took aim and Mindy and fired a shot, but Mindy was able to dodge the shot, as she was only grazed.

"That was sensational!" Penny said.

"I shouldn't take all the credit. You did all the hard work and soften them up for me." Crusader said.

Penny hummed and thought about it for a moment. "How wonderful!" She said.

Meanwhile, the Fire-Ghost and Ethan ran up to the mini husks and struck them with powerful flame blade attacks. Cavalier then shot the both of them, finishing them off. Lancer then moved up, and targeted his attacks on to Mindy, taking multiple shots, but missed due to the range. However, his gun managed to mark Mindy, making her easier to aim at. Templar and Lu then took their shots, but Mindy dodge both of the attacks.

Revenant Action

Mindy's health regenerated just a little and she then ran up to the battle and generated Nether Energy within her paws, and sent out another wave of her Nether Energy from her claws, towards Crusader and Lancer, knocking them onto the ground, leaving them dazed and damaged. The Fire-Ghost then vanished as it just had run out of Spirit Energy. Gallant then noticed that Mindy was quite far back, meaning that any shots on her would be quite horrible, but since there were no other hostiles around, this was the perfect opportunity to strike.

"Excuse me, Penny. But do you think you could bring that Panther Monster a bit closer to us? It would be really helpful." Gallant said.

"I would love to!" Penny replied. She then used her swords to reposition to a new location where she could see Mindy, and then flung out towards Mindy, and ensnared her. Using all of her might, Penny was then able to lift Mindy off of her feet, and send her flying closer to the Igknights. "Is that close enough?" she asked.

"It's perfect! Now for the finishing touches. Ethan! Burn her with a Flame Attack!" Gallant ordered.

Ethan only nodded as he ran back to an area where he could attack Mindy. However, this time he didn't use his blades for attacking but instead, created a ball of fire in his right hand. "You shall bear my mark!" Ethan shouted. He then shot out his right hand, as the ball of fire transformed into a streak of fire which traveled quickly across the field and burned Mindy with it's scorching flames. Furthermore, since Mindy was on fire, it was easier for the other Igknights and Lu to see her.

Cavalier then inputted an override command into her armor, to use her abilities to the best of her abilities. "I come to you!" she yelled, as she aimed her grapple at Mindy, and pulled herself in to get up close. Using her Derringer, she delivered a quick slash at Mindy, and then took out two more daggers, and fired two shots from them. Her weapons also did additional damage, due Mindy's armor weakness to them.

Templar then took aim and fired the final shot, putting Mindy down. The Panther Revenant fell to the ground and transformed back to her normal form. Cavalier noticed that she was still breathing, meaning she was still alive. Suddenly, a beam of purple-light surrounded Mindy's body, and whisked her away elsewhere, to recover. "We're seeing a lot of odd girls now a days." Cavalier said to herself.

(End the BGM)

Neos let out a sigh of relief. "Good work squad. It wasn't easy, but you all manage to pull through. Gallant. Although some of your actions seemed, questionable, your men and your tactical analysis are to be commended." He said.

"Thank you, Neos. I'll admit, we've could have done better, but we get the job. However, this mission isn't over yet. We still need to locate team RWBY and Anna." Gallant replied.

Ethan then took time to recharged his duel spirit energy, while Crusader and Lancer managed to recover from their dazed state. Afterwards, everyone regrouped together, including Penny.

"Thanks for the assist, Penny. If it weren't for you, we would be quarters." Lu said. K then smacked her on the head for the joke. "Ok. I'll admit that was bad, but I couldn't resist." She said.

"You're most welcome, Lu. Now, let's go save our friends!" Penny cheered, raising her fist into the air.

"Actually, I have another job for you." Ethan said. The Igknights were surprised at Ethan's reply, wondering what he was planning. Ethan the reached into his jacket pocket and took out a Wrist-band Comunications device, and gave it to Penny. "Here. It's a dimension communicator. Capable of communication across dimensions." He said.

"It's a nice gift. But what do I do with it?" Penny asked, as she examined the object.

"Something big is happening here in Remnant, but I don't think we're going to be coming back here soon. I want you to be the link between our worlds." Ethan said.

"Would that happen to be involved with the sudden appearance of three suns and why everything is frozen is a stasis like status?" Penny asked.

"Maybe. For now, I need you to hide from anything that looks like a Grimm, or anything that we were fighting back there, until we can contact you. There may be others here in Remnant that may be your allies, but be careful. This is really important, Penny. Can I trust you do this?" Ethan asked.

"Absolutely! You can count on me friend! Afterall, I trust you to save Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang. Let's shake on it!" Penny said, saluting.

Ethan reluctantly accepted Penny's handshake, as Penny did most of the shaking. She then bid farewell to her new friends and went off elsewhere to explore her surroundings, while waiting for her new Communicator to go off.

"You know, she took this pretty well. Normal people would freak-out after what's happen so far." Templar said.

"It's almost like she isn't human." Lancer said.

"Almost robotic." Cavalier said.

"You don't think…." Crusader said.

The Igknights, Ethan, Lu and K thought about it. "NAH." They all said in unison.

"That's just ridiculous." Ethan said.

"Yeah. That's almost as saying she's a living puppet with no string attached." Lu said. K just chuckled.

(Several Minutes Later)

The Igknights had just resumed their search of team RWBY and Anna, as they quickly moved through the frozen forest. Some still had injuries from the previous battle, but they continued to press onward. Just then, there heard faint explosions and magical sounds coming from another direction, and immediately ran to the source. As they got closer, the sounds got louder and louder, but then everything went quiet. Suspense filled the air as they approach. The squad soon found themselves standing over a ledge and spotted ancient ruins, and saw team RWBY and Anna. However, Anna was laying down on the ground, as team RWBY, who looked tired and worn out, was confronting four mysterious figures.

"This is Ethan Hono. Team RWBY and Anna Yuno have been located. Moving in to secure." He said into a comm link. Cavalier, Lancer, Templar, Crusader, Lu and K came running in as well to his side.

"Excellent work men. Alright Igknights. Let's get this job done!" Gallant yelled.

"YES SIR!" the warriors yelled.

"Judging from the look of things, I say we need an immediate extraction. Templar! Use the Flashbang! After that, deploy the Zipline to get in closer." Gallant ordered.

"Heads down!" Templar yelled. He then threw out the flashbang, disorienting everyone in the blast radius. He then fired out his grapple at a nearby column and then attached then of it to a tree. The Igknights then used their weapons to move quickly across the gap and make it towards the ruins.

"Remember. Team RWBY and Anna are top priority. Move to the evac zone and get out of there. You've already had to deal with one overpowered Nether enemy. I don't think you can handle four more." Gallant said.

The Igknights acknowledge by charging in and making a dash. However, Pythor was first to recover, and spotted the squad.

"Clever. Still. It won't be enough." He said, while activating his helmet. He then took to the skies, and began firing down shots. The group then spread out, and began firing at Pythor.

Lancer and Templar, then moved out into the open and began firing. "Go! We'll keep him occupy for now!" Templar yelled, as he fired multiple shots at Pythor.

Soon, Ashley regain her senses as well, and noticed the fighting. "Huh. Looks like we've got a couple of party crashers!" she then let out a loud battle cry and charged. Cavalier then turned around to noticed her, and immediately recognized the Revenant.

Cavalier then turned around and locked weapons with her. "I remember you. You're that annoying pest from the museum." She said.

"And you're, Pinky! After I'm finished with you, I think I'll get some payback on that Ethan fella." Ashley replied.

"That's it. You're dead!" Cavalier said. She then threw up her arms and the two began fighting each other, although Cavalier was a bit tired after that last fight.

Ethan, Crusader and Lu managed to reach team RWBY and Anna, and Ethan immediately ran over to Anna and slouch her over his shoulder. At this time, the effects of the Flashbang were wearing

"E-ethan? What are you doing here?" Ruby asked.

"Getting you out of this mess! Let's move it!" Ethan yelled.

"You heard Mr. Cranky! Less talking, more running!" Lu yelled.

"And where are we supposed to run to!? We're on ruins for crying out loud, and the bridge is gone!" Weiss snapped.

Lu and Ethan then looked around and realized she was right. "We forgot to put down the evac zone." Ethan said.

"Don't worry. I'm on it." Lu then took out a flare from Ethan's belt and threw out onto the ground. It then emitted a blue light, signaling Stratos and Mist from above to move in closer. Team RWBY didn't know what to say right now, but knew now was the time to retreat, as they quickly made their way to the evac zone.

Malisha was more tired than most of Revenant, during the last duel, that it's taking her longer to recover. However, Saika then regained her senses and saw team RWBY, Ethan carrying Anna and Lu moving towards the evac zone. "There is no escape!" she yelled. Drawing two of her swords she charged forward and prepared to strike. Luckily Crusader immediately saw it, and drew his blade and parried the strike! However, Saika swung her swords faster than Crusader could and managed to disarm him. Saika then delivered a swift blow to Crusader, chest, and sent him flying, leaving him to bleed out.

"Crusader!" Ethan cried out. He then saw Saika charging at him. His eyes widen as he feared the worst. However, Yang jumped up from behind him and fired multiple shotgun blast from her gauntlets. Saika immediately noticed this and deflected the attacks with her swords. Weiss then moved up, and used what little energy she had to create a glyph, and stab her weapon in to the ground, causing Ice to emerge from the ground and it crawled over to wear Saika was standing. The Revenant then jumped back to avoid it, as Yang, Ruby and Blake fired at her with their weapons, using dust-based ammo that Weiss gave them a moment ago, forcing her to either dodge or block the elemental attacks.

"Thanks." Ethan replied.

"We can thank each other later after we get out of here." Yang said.

"We may have lost the duel, but we'll live to fight another day." Weiss said.

Blake then ran over to Crusader and helped him to his feet. She then supported him, as the two slowly made their way to evac zone. "You're not going to die here. Not after coming this far to help us." She said.

"T-thanks…*cough*…for the assist." Crusader said, as he held his hand to his wound.

Ethan nodded and then shouted out to his comrades. "TEMPLAR, LANCER, CAVALIER! WE'RE LEAVING, SO HURRY UP!" he yelled.

"Yang, Weiss! Cover them!" Ruby shouted.

Lancer and Templar began to fall back, but Pythor managed to land a shot in Lancer's right leg, causing him to fall over. Templar doesn't leave a man behind, as he helped Lancer to his feet and used all of his strength to run. Pythor took aim once more, but didn't noticed the rifle shots fired from Ruby. What's more, they were Fire Based Dust. Normally, his aura would provide protection, but Ruby managed to strike the jet pack, as it then caught fire. Feeling the heat, Pythor immediately detached from his jet pack and bailed at the last minute, as the pack exploded in the sky. Pythor did a roll on the ground, and realized that his gun had fallen quite some distance.

"Hmph. The kid is a lot smarter than she looks." Pythor said, as he then began dodging Ruby's sniper fire.

Cavalier was careful around Ashley, since the last thing she wanted was a disabled limb. Right now, Ashley was laying a beat down onto Cavalier, forcing the Pink Armored Igknight to go on the defensive. Cavalier then performed a backflip and threw several her Daggers at Ashley. Ashley saw the incoming projectiles and did a slide to avoid them.

"Looks like you missed." Ashley said.

Cavalier only stood up, as she then pressed a button on an arm data pad. Ashley then heard beeping noises behind her. She then turned around to see the Daggers were embedded in a pillar, and were flashing red, until a long beep ranged out. The daggers then exploded, causing the pillar to come falling down, forcing Ashley to jump out of the way. However, she failed to notice the grapple that had just latched onto her armor, allowing Cavalier to zoom right in and deliver a powerful punch to the gut, sending Ashley flying downwards, to the ground.

"On the contrary, I've hit the mark." Cavalier said, as she ran towards the evac zone.

Meanwhile, Saika and Yang were battling it out, with Weiss providing support. Yang was in better condition than the rest of team RWBY, but was still struggling in keep up with Saika's swift attacks. Thankfully, Weiss had being using her glyphs to help support her. Yang kept throwing out her punches, but Saika easily deflected them, and decided to end it. She then took out all of her swords, as two floated in the air, two in her hands, and two in feet.

"Overkill. I can respect that. But you hurt my sister, I don't take kindly to that." Yang said, as she positioned herself.

"True, but I also sense hostility from you in another form. It almost feels personal." Saika said.

"Sorry about that. Your weapons and looks just remind me of someone. At least, I think they do." Yang said in a more serious tone.

"How, interesting." Saika said. She then readied herself and charged at Yang. However, Weiss used multiple glyphs to enhance, Yang's speed, strength and endurance, allowing the blonde brawler to easier parry the attacks. This also allowed her to absorb more damage, as her semblance kicked in. Her hair then ignited on fire, as she then threw out a punch at Saika. Saika raised her swords in an attempt to block it, but was surprised, when the attacked caused her to slide back a great distance.

Afterwards, Templar, Lancer and Cavalier managed get closer to the rest of the group. Weiss saw this, and then decided to use up all her energy for one final move. She then set her chamber to Ice-Dust chamber and stabbed the ground, causing a wall of Ice to emerge from the giant glyph on the ground, separating the Revenants.

"That'll buy us some time. But not much." Weiss said, as she quickly hurried to the evac zone, but only fell to the ground due to fatigue. Ruby gasped and immediately rushed in to grab her.

"Stay strong, Weiss. I see the light at the end of this dark tunnel." Ruby said, as she supported Weiss as the moved as fast as possible.

"T-thank you." Weiss said weakly.

Normally, this would give our heroes enough time to escape. Unfortunately, Malisha was now active. Upon regaining her senses, she spotted the gigantic Ice Wall that Weiss had made. "Hmmm. Looks like Mindy failed to keep our guests occupied. I'm going have to check up on her later to make sure she's okay. As of now, I'm feeling, destructive." She said.

Malisha then raised her right arm, and conjured, multiple dark blue swords, and sent them flying towards the ice wall. The swords embedded themselves into the wall, and formed cracks. Everyone on the other side of the wall turned around to see the cracks and their eyes widen with fear, and they stood frozen.

"Why aren't we running?" Lu questioned.

Malisha then clapped her hands to get as, the entire ice wall crumbled to the ground. Right now, Blake, Crusader, Templar and Lancer, had just reached the evac zone, but Ruby, Weiss, Yang, and Cavalier were a bit behind. To make matters worse, Malisha began charging up a devastating attack, and Ethan didn't want to take any chances with that.

"Lu. Hold Annie for me." Ethan said, as he dropped Anna on to Lu, who caught her with her magic.

"You're going to do something reckless, are you?" Lu asked in a deadpanned tone, only to see Ethan running at Malisha at full speed. She only gulped out of fear, as she then crossed her fingers and began praying for a miracle.

Ethan then opened up his right Hono Blade, and pointed the tip at the palm of his left hand. Spirit Energy began manifesting in the blade, as orange sparks flickered from it. Malisha then noticed Ethan running at her, curious of what he was about to do. Saika on the other ran started running towards Ethan, to throw him off course. Cavalier had other plans, as she began throwing all of Daggers and Saika, forcing her to parry them. This gave Ethan just enough time to get in close. "A gale of power!" he shouted

Ethan then thrusted the blade into the sky as embers swirled around him. A pillar of fire erupted from the blade, as fire rained down upon the area. Smoke covered the area, obscuring everyone's view. When the smoke cleared, Malisha still hovered in the air, but was holding the flames in a little sphere. Ethan only stepped backed, speechless.

"I'm not going to lie. That was pretty intense. I could've been fatally wounded from an attack like that. It's a good thing I have Dark Magic." Malisha said, smiling at Ethan.

"Ah fudge." Ethan muttered. Malisha then let out the flames in her hand, and launched at Ethan, who tried to use his blades to absorb most of the damage. However, the strength was too much, as Ethan was then sent flying further back all the way where Lu was, and slide on his back. On closer inspection, Ethan was now cover in burns, and his clothes were burnt, but his cap was still on his head somehow.

"Oh, my goodness! Ethan! Are you still alive!?" Lu asked.

"Yes. I am still alive." Ethan said, as he managed to get back up on his feet. However, the blast destroyed his right gauntlet meaning he could only use the left one.

"Woah, woah! Are seriously still planning on fighting her!? She barely even flinched from that last attack!" Lu shouted.

"I know. But right now, we have to do our best to save as many lives as we can. As much as I don't want to admit it, I think only a few of us are going home alive." Ethan said.

"Don't say that! I don't hear that." Lu said.

"Lu. Face it. Chances of us taking down that magic caster are slim to none in our current status. Lancer and Crusader are out of commission, Cavalier lost most of her Daggers, and team RWBY is too fatigued too." Ethan said.

"As if you're one to talk. We could use K. He has been perfecting his Multiply-Self Destruct technique. Right buddy?" Lu suggested.

"Kuri, Kuri." K said in agreement.

"I just used a fire storm, super move on her. It did nothing. Worst case scenario is that she deflects every single K clone back us, and blow them up in our face." Ethan said.

Lu and K exchanged looks at each other, and thought that could actually happen. "I guess you have a point there. Gallant. Orders?" Lu asked.

Gallant took a moment to process everything, as he took a deep breath. "Have Blake, Crusader, Lancer and Templar evac. They need immediate first aid immediately. However, no one gets left behind. Ethan. Cavalier. You two are, the best we got so far. Have Yang assist you as well. She's in decent position to hold off the enemy. Lu. Get Anna to evac zone. Stratos. Think you can hold position for a little longer?" he asked.

"Heroes don't turn their back on people in need. I would never forgive myself if I took off right now. But I can't help it if we run out of time." Stratos said.

"So, how bad is it?" Cavalier asked. Meanwhile, Ruby and Weiss managed to move closer to the evac zone.

"Well, we're going against a powerful magic caster, a martial artist of sorts, a six-sword wielder and a rifleman. In short, not really good." Ethan said.

"Eh. We've been through worse." Cavalier said, as she stretched out her fingers.

"Nah., I think this is as worse as it gets." Ethan said.

Yang then walked up to the two, as she did a stretch. "If we're going down, then we're going down fighting. By the way, nice Gauntlets, Ethan." She said, as she reloaded her Ember Celica

"Thank you." Ethan replied.

The other Revenants recovered from the Fire Storm, and prepared to strike. Malisha began creating another dark sphere, Pythor charged his gun, Ashley and Saika prepared to lunged. Ethan, Yang and Cavalier drew their weapons and with little ammo and with little strength. Stratos then let down ropes, for rappelling, as Blake helped Crusader and Templar helped Lancer to get first-aid back to the ship. Meanwhile, Lu was carrying Anna with her magic, hoping for a miracle. Ruby was struggling to get to the evac zone, as she summoned all of her strength to carry both herself and Weiss to safety.

Anna, who was unconscious for the most part, began to open her eyes. She didn't know what was going on, but what she saw was chaos. Ethan, Yang and Cavalier standing face to face with the Revenants. Ruby desperately trying to save her dearest friend, and Lu's face, struggling not to cry. She then saw Malisha, and something strange happened. A rush of emotions flooded through her mind. Desperation, sadness, anger, and fear.

"I cannot fail." A voice echoed through her head.

"C-can't…" Anna muttered.

"If I fail, it'll all be my fault. MY FAULT!" The voice said in head, sounding even more desperate.

"Failing. I can't allow it." Anna muttered, but with anger.

"Failure is not an option!" voiced echoed even louder.

"I deny it. I refuse it. I reject it. I hate it. Failure." Anna said, as her tone got even more menacing.

Lu then heard Anna's words, and was shocked from hearing it. "Uh…Anna? Are you awake?"

"I'll do whatever it takes! Any length, any extreme! No matter the cost, I HAVE TO WIN! I MUST SUCCEED!" The voice shouted.

At that point, something had awakened in Anna. Her deck began to glow, as her pupils began to glow blue. "I will…and I must…SUCCEED!" she yelled, as a pulse of energy was emitted from her body. The pulse then traveled across the field as it then caused the Revenants to be thrown back from the energy weave, but everyone else remained unaffected. Anna's eyes then closed, as the glow from her deck then vanished. Lu was shocked at what just transpired, but then realized this was the miracle she prayed for.

"What was that?" Ethan asked, curious of what just happened.

"It's called an opportunity! Double time it! Now!" Cavalier shouted. The three begun running for the Evac zone.

Ruby had also seen what happened, and wonder what it meant. She would have to ask Anna about it later. She managed to reach the evac zone, and rappelled upward with Weiss to the dropship. Lu was the next person to reach the Evac Zone, as she then hooked Anna up with a Rappel and got out of there.

Ethan, Yang and Cavalier ran as fast as they could, while the Revenants began to recover. Yang was the first to each to the zone, and immediately rappelled upwards to the ship. The remaining two soldiers managed to make it the Evac Zone, and began rappelling upward. Pythor managed to shake off the disorientation, and saw Ethan and Cavalier making their escape. He then raced for his gun, and took aim at them, firing a single shot from his railgun. The energy wave that Anna emitted made his aim worst, but he managed to sever the line from Ethan cable. Gravity began to kick in as Ethan began falling down. With quick, thinking, Cavalier used her dagger to detached herself from her harness and fell down as well. Ethan then extended his hand, and just in the nick of time, Cavalier caught Ethan with her right hand, and the rappel with her left.

"Damn it, Ethan! You need to start losing weight!" Cavalier said, with her voice sounding strained.

"Sorry about that. Ramen is my favorite meal after all." Ethan joked. Up in the ship, Templar, Ruby, Blake and Yang began pulling the two up.

"Status confirmed. Team RWBY and Anna Yuno have been secured. All Igknight Operatives are here and accounted for. Returning to base."

"That's music to my ears. Head home, Storm Cloud. However, head for the Huntress HQ. Some of our Heroes had just returned from fighting a group of villains. Our med-bay is a bit full." Neos said.

With that said, Stratos head back to the Spirit World, and set coordinates for the Spirit World. On the ship, Crusader was getting medical treatment for his chest wound, while Lancer was wrapping up his leg with a band aid, and placing a support against it. Weiss dozed off, Cavalier decided to take a nap and Anna was unconscious as well. Ethan was sitting down in one of the chairs, while Lu was now chewing Ethan out for making her worried. Ruby, Blake and Yang didn't speak for the rest of the trip, as they all needed some time to think. Mostly about what happened with Anna back there. What was the energy pulse about? Is there something else about Anna that didn't know about, and was it something that she didn't even know herself? For now, they needed some rest.

(Back at the Ruins)

The Pythor was currently helping everyone to their feet, and they had the same question.

"Pythor. How do you recover so fast?" Ashley asked.

"I just shake it off." Pythor said.

"Rrrriiiiiggght." Ashley said

"Still. What was that pulse of energy? It interfered with our Nether based powers for a moment. Almost similar to that one time." Saika said.

Malisha had a stern look on her face, in contrast to her usual carefree face. "5000 years have passed, and you're still a crick in the neck." She said with spite.

Epilogue

Penny had just finish figuring out how her new communicator works, and was now exploring the rest of the frozen world. So far, she saw nothing but frozen Grimm. That is until she heard groaning noises. To her surprise, she saw what appears to be a pirate underneath a giant tree branch. Penny immediately rushed over to where she was and crouch down.

"Excuse me, Ms. Do you need some help?" Penny asked. When the woman lifted up her head, Penny saw that she had pale blue skin, confusing her.

"Oh, my word. Finally! Something actually moves in this world!" Joanne said.

"Why is your skin blue?" Penny asked.

"I'm a zombie. This is our natural skin color. For others, it's grey and green. But anyways, can you get this tree branch off of me? I would do it myself, but my legs are in twist. So, I need some assistance. Savvy?" Joanne said.

"I would love to!" Penny said. She then walked up to the giant branch and lifted it up off the ground with minimal effort and threw it aside.

Joanne was at first shocked at Penny's tremendous strength, but shrugged it off. She then turned on her back, and immediately snapped her legs back into place. Penny was a bit uncomfortable after hearing the crunching and snapping noises. "Thanks for the assist, kiddo." Joanne said. She then extended her hand out for a handshake but saw that her fingers were all bent. After pulling them and twisting them in place, it was good as new.

"You're welcome. Also, how did you ended up under a giant tree branch in the first place?" Penny asked.

Joanne thought about it.

Joanne was transported to his world, and begin exploring the area. She then came across a frozen man, fighting a nevermore, with a giant broadsword. He wore a red, tattered cloak, a gray dress shirt and black dress pants and black dress shoes. He had spike graying black hair, and due red eyes. Joanne approached the man, and the first thing that caught her was the drinking flash on his belt. She immediately snatched it and read the name on it.

"Qrow…Branwen. Strange looking fella." Joanne said. She then unscrewed the cap, and took a sip of the contents within it. "But a fella with good taste." She said, as she placed the flask back on his belt.

As she began to walk away, she immediately tripped and fell forward. Startled by what just happened, Joanne looked at her feet to see a tree root sticking out of ground. She wondered why she didn't see it in the first place. After adjusting her hat, she continued on her way, but she quickly noticed the cliff that was in front of her, stopping just in time, right at the edge before she fell over. However, for some reason, the edge of the cliff crumbled, causing the pirate lass to fall from the cliff.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh." *THUMP*. Joanne had fallen a great distance that would kill any normal human being. It was a good thing she was a zombie. She then noticed that both her legs were broken. A problem that could easily be fixed.

"Sorry universe. But this ain't enough to keep down, Captain Joanne Crane!" Joanne yelled.

Meanwhile, back up where Qrow was, a nearby tree that was also near the edge of the cliff. A pulse of energy then vibrated through the area, causing the biggest branch to snap off and fall on Joanne's back.

"OOF! …. Touché universe." Joanne said.

(Present time)

Joanne was currently thinking back to what happened. "Just a series of misfortunate events." She said.

Just then footsteps were heard, as Kirin had just joined the group. "What do you know? Looks like this just got interesting." She said.

Author's Note

If you haven't guessed already, this chapter is a parody of the XCOM 2 game. I've been playing lately, and it's been quite fun. To me, it's an accurate representation on life. Sometimes life smacks right in the face. Other times, it makes you feel awesome. I also thought this would a good time to give Penny some time as well. As for the fight, I tried to make it resemble an accurate version of an XCOM fight, because I thought it would be fun. Let me know if you guys actually want to see more of these types of fights in the future. On a side note, it appears that something has awakened within Anna, and will it be bad or good for our heroes? Only time will tell.

In other news, I'm also planning on writing a new story. Yes, I know I already have my Battle Spirits fic on hiatus, but this story idea is just jumping around in my head, as if it is begging to be let out. It's another Yugioh crossover fic, but different. Less dueling related. You'll just have to wait and see. If I decide to do it.

I'm going to be straight with you fellas; I didn't really plan how this story will go when I first started writing it. Of course, I did decide how this story will flow, but like when I made the first chapter, I really didn't have any of the future planned out. I've just been firing the chapters fresh out of my head. However, I do have somewhat of a plan.

GearStriker: I have different plans for Penny, so she may not be a Duel Spirit, for some time. As for Anna, let's just see where this loss takes her.
