Chapter 9

Heading For The Altar Of Horus

Previously in the last chapter:

Tyler, and the other Rangers along with Mr. Watkins was able to free Heckyl, Riley, and Chase at Hamunaptra. Meanwhile Keeper and the other Dino Rangers along with all the entire Power Ranger Roster was able to see The Pyramid of Horus rise up as Imhotep, Anck-Su-Namun, his priests, Zenowing, and the girls, Kendall, Kaylee, and Erin, all went inside the pyramid. There still was no change for Shelby to regain control of her body as the wedding draws ever closer. The Rangers end up fighting off Imhotep's army outside of the pyramid, while the Dino Charge rangers along with Mr. Watkins, Heckyl, and Keeper head inside the pyramid to stop Imhotep and his plans of marrying Anck-Su-Namun inside Shelby's body.

And now… the continuation:

"Ladies and gentleman, we are gathered here today to join our lord Imhotep and his mistress Anck-Su-Namun in unholy matrimony."

"My lord Imhotep do you take Anck-Su-Namun to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

"I do."

"Anck-Su-Namun do you take Lord Imhotep to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

"I do."

"No I don't!"

"By the power vested in me I now pronounce you husband and wife."

"No…"

"You may kiss the bride."

"No! No! Please, help me! Guys! No, Guys! No! No! Help me! Help!"

It was only mere moments before the nightmare Shelby had became a reality. As Anck-Su-Namun who was still in control of her body was now Facing Imhotep's as she walked down the aisle in a white ancient Egyptian wedding dress. Kendall, Kaylee, and Erin had to see in disgust the imposter taking over Shelby's body walk gracefully down the aisle to her husband-to-be Imhotep.

Outside of the pyramid the the entire Power Ranger army kept on defeating Imhotep's army, but to no avail the army kept coming back stronger than ever.

"We can't keep this up!" Billy yelled.

"We have to." Tommy replied. "We have to hold our own until Tyler and the others stop Imhotep."

"Hopefully they can do it soon!" Adam said.

"These guys just keep getting stronger!" Rocky said but the rangers still kept bringing the fight to them.

Meanwhile back inside the Pyramid, the Dino Charge gang kept going inside corridor after corridor destroying every mummified priest and soldier of Imhotep's that stood in their way.

Hang on, Shelby, I'm coming.

The more and more they ventured inside the Pyramid the darker it got at one point when they all faced off against Anubis Warriors in a corridor the room started to shake and in that moment Tyler was shoved into another place by a revolving wall.

"Tyler!" They all shouted.

"Keep going I'll try to find another way to the Altar!"

"Okay, But hurry!" Riley said as they had ventured on.

Meanwhile at the altar Anck-Su-Namun has made it to Imhotep and Zenowing was ready to start. Inside Shelby's body Anck-Su-Namun smile as Shelby began to worry.

"Greetings, mortals, we are gathered here to day to join our Lord and our mistress in unholy matrimony."

"Stop Zenowing!" Shelby said.

"He can't hear you foolish mortal. I suggest you stop trying." Anck-Su-Namun replied. As Zenowing had kept on continuing with the ceremony. Meanwhile the rangers as well as Heckyl, Mr. Watkins, and Keeper had came across another room to find out more about the marriage ceremony.

"Ring on one side, bracelet on the other." Mr. Watkins said. "To get rid of the extra other. Both the ring and the bracelet must be completely on before the sealing."

"What does that mean?" Chase said.

"In order for the ceremony to be complete the Bracelet of Anubis has to be on one arm while the ring needs to be the on the hand of the other arm before the groom could kiss the bride."

"Could we hope that both are on the same arm?" Ivan asked.

"I hope so."

"Watkins…"

Mr. Watkins heard the voice from another room and they all went into the other room to find gold markings. One symbol had a similar marking to the staff of the Gold Zeo Ranger when Mr. Watkins raised the staff he chanted a hieroglyph below the symbol from the golden book. And appearing in front of them was the Medjai Mr. Watkins saw when he was in limbo.

"Watkins, My friend." Ardeth Bay said.

"Ardeth." Mr. Watkins replied. "Nice to see you."

"I see you were able to briefly resurrect me."

"Yes."

"Who is that?" Phillip asked.

"My friends this is Ardeth Bay, a Medjai from long ago which formed a secret society to prevent evil like Imhotep from rising into this world."

"For you to mention him, one can only assume he's back. Only matter is how?" Ardeth asked.

"Remember the Bracelet of Anubis?"

"Yes. It was the key to stopping the Scorpion King."

"Well now it has another purpose."

"It acts as a betrothment to the wearer." James said.

"My daughter, when she put on the bracelet, she didn't know that she woke up the soul of a loved one affiliated to Imhotep." Mr. Watkins said explaining.

"Anck-Su-Namun."

"Soon after Imhotep abducts her and has been brought here to marry her. My daughter still has Anck-Su-Namun's soul inside her."

"So if Imhotep marries Anck-Su-Namun inside your daughter's body, your daughter's soul will go to the underworld and they will be invincible."

"Yes."

"Well it's been know that marriage rituals can only be performed here and the only way to stop it is for someone to marry your daughter. Do you have someone?"

"Yes, my son, Tyler was supposed to marry her." James said.

"Is he alive?"

"Yes but he disappeared back there somewhere in a secret wall." Chase said.

"I'll go back for him."

"Rangers…"

"What?" Riley asked until they saw that the voice was coming from the Gold Zeo Rangers' staff.

"Trey, what is it?" Ivan asked.

"We're barely depleted, we can't hold out much longer against this army. You have to hurry!"

"What is wrong?" Ardeth asked.

"Our friends are fighting Imhotep's army outside as well." Riley said.

"If they defeat… our friends…" Koda replied.

"They will come in here next." Keeper said.

"Watkins… you have the book."

With that Mr. Watkins and Ardeth had held on the staff and they had read an incantation. When it was done Ardeth soon ran to find Tyler as the rest kept going to find the Altar of Horus.

Back at the Altar Zenowing kept on going and was soon to the all important question.

"My lord Imhotep do you take Anck-Su-Namun to be your lawfully wedded wife for as long as you both shall live?"

"I do." Imhotep said.

"Shelby don't do it!" Erin yelled. "Don't marry him!"

"Silence!" Imhotep ordered. "Continue, High Priest."

"With pleasure my lord." Zenowing said before continuing.

Meanwhile outside most rangers were demorphed but yet they still kept fighting there were only a few of Imhotep's army left before the next wave started to come in.

"It's too late!" Connor said.

"We aren't going to make it!" Emma replied.

"Gotta keep fighting!" TJ said. Suddenly from the opposite side from where Imhotep's next army wave was attacking, there was an army that was coming towards them as well.

"This is it, Rangers." Jason said.

"It has been an honor." Tommy said.

With them ready to fight to the last Ranger they all prepared to face them until the group who approached them decided to rush past them paid the rangers no mind and went straight for Imhotep's army. Four people stopped to greet the Rangers. Two men, two women.

"Are you guys friends of Ardeth Bay?" The first guy asked.

"Ardeth Bay?" Tommy asked.

"The Medjai."

"Wait I remember that Shelby's dad mentioned about being a Medjai from his past life. Who are you?"

"We're Ardeth's friends the O'Connells. I'm Rick, this is my wife Evy, my son Alex, and my Daughter-In-Law Lin."

"We're here to fight Imhotep's army." Evy said. "We'll hold them off long enough for you guys to regroup and recover."

"So are you guys…"

"We're before your time." Alex said answering Katherine's question. "We can only hold them off until Imhotep's destroyed."

"Well we can only hope that he is destroyed." Kimberly said. And as the O'Connells went to tend to the Army all of the Rangers to the time to recover and regroup.

Meanwhile elsewhere inside the Pyramid, Tyler faced off more of Imhotep's Army but the ground was crumbling, as if it soon would collapse once Tyler finished off the last Mummified Soldier, the ground had suddenly collapsed and Tyler ran towards the open door but he fell and was now hanging on by a thread on the edge only having three fingers on the edge, as he look down at the pitch black abyss below.

"I… Can't…Give…Up!"

Tyley kept struggling to hang on but slowly he was slipping until he had two fingers left holding onto the edge, at that point Ardeth showed up at the door and say Tyler. He grabbed his arm and helped him up from the edge.

"Thank you."

"Don't worry. Are you Tyler?"

"Yes."

"I am Ardeth. I have been sent here to help you."

"Mr. Watkins?"

"Yes, we must hurry."

"Of course."

With that Tyler and Ardeth had left out the door and headed towards the Altar of Horus.

Meanwhile the Rangers, Keeper and Mr. Watkins had made it to the corridor where they can hear Zenowing. Though faint they could hear him.

"And do you Anck-Su-Namun…"

"You hear that?" Riley said.

"He's asking the soul that's inside Shelby's body if she want to marry Imhotep." Ivan replied.

"We must hurry!" James said. As they had rushed to the altar.

The other girls had yelled in protest for Shelby to say "I don't" but Shelby who still couldn't reply back could only watch in horror as Anck-Su-Namun reply to Zenowing who already had finished asking her if she want to take Imhotep's hand in marriage. Inside the body of Shelby Anck-Su-Namun smiled wickedly at Shelby before replying to Zenowing.

"I do."

Shelby had shedded tears as if to find out that her end was coming and it couldn't be too soon. Because Zenowing was ready to finish the ceremony.

"And so by the power vested in me…"

The Rangers had all got to the alter and found them they looked closely at Shelby's body to find that her left hand indeed has the black ring and the right hand does indeed have the bracelet.

"If Imhotep kisses her now, it's all over!" Heckyl said. "Quick!"

"I now pronounce you…"

Soon the Dino Charge gang had blasted at Imhotep and Regretfully at Zenowing and Shelby's body still being fully inhabited by Anck-Su-Namun. Imhotep couldn't believe that Chase, Riley and Heckyl all broke free.

"You forgot to ask if anybody objects to this marriage!" Riley said.

"Riley!" Erin asked as her savior had showed up.

"Chase!" Kaylee replied as well to see Chase alive and okay. Kendall was relieved to See Heckyl fine as well and can only shed a tear. Mr Watkins soon walked up to speak to Imhotep.

"Monster, You will never have my blessing to marry my daughter, and I forbid you to marry someone inside my daughter's body!"

"Impudent fools! As if you could stop us!" Anck-Su-Namun said. The thought that she said this in Shelby's voice couldn't make Mr. Watkins more sick.

"I'm sorry Zenowing." Ivan said as he and Phillip blasted Zenowing to use their Dino Blast Morpheus to blast at Zenowing with friendly fire sending him back a good distance and knocking him out cold. Before Imhotep could unleash his power at the Rangers Mr. Watkins said an incantation and before long a translucent chariot had started to collect up the physical forms of all the life forces Imhotep absorbed which is King Sphinx, Tutenhawken, and Gold Digger. The chariot soon disappeared with these forms and Imhotep couldn't be more angrier. Imhotep had summoned his army to attack the Dino Charge gang.

"Attack!"

As the army attacked the rangers had tried to fight them off but at the time they couldn't hold them off long enough because of how strong his army was.

"We got to destroy his army!" Phillip said.

"Quick, Watkins! Use the spell on the girls!" Heckyl said. But before he could complete it, Imhotep had used his power to blast Mr. Watkins back and knock the golden book out of his hands before long Imhotep had got the black book and did a spell on Zenowing to wake him up. Soon after that, the Dino charge gang had more trouble coming their way because Zenowing had made short work of them by simply morphing into the Silver Ranger and knocked down everybody who opposed him.

"Zenowing, No! Guys! Get up!"

Imhotep's army had gathered them up and held all of them in place kicking Keeper's staff the Gold Zeo's staff out of distance. As for the golden book Imhotep threw it high through a doorway on higher flooring. Zenowing who soon de-morphed went back to Imhotep and Anck-Su-Namun to finish the ceremony.

"High Priest, Oblige these fools with a threat." Imhotep ordered.

"Yes my Pharoah."

Tyler and Ardeth was running as fast down a long corridor which was leading to the Altar, however Tyler tripped on something, Ardeth looked back and saw Tyler on the ground.

"Tyler, hurry!"

"I tripped on something."

Ardeth saw what Tyler tripped on and it was the Golden book. Tyler picked it up and the hurried to the Altar.

"If anybody had any reason to interrupt my Pharaoh's wedding to his wife, let him speak now so he can be destroyed soon after."

Everybody tried to speak out but it was all muffled. This was Shelby's nightmare coming to life.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride."

"No… No…" Shelby said half-sobbing. Anck-Su-Namun smiled as she had her arms out ready to inhabit Shelby's body. The Dino Charge gang had pleas of despair and sorrow. As they were about to kiss, a huge blast shot at Imhotep's back which sent him stumbling a good distance before tripping over. When they all looked at where the blast was shot at, Tyler suddenly appeared. And to Shelby's joy her fiancé was alive.

"Tyler."

This brought anger to Anck-Su-Namun's face as well as Imhotep's to see Tyler alive but everybody else was happy to see him here alive and he made it.

"I object."
