Charlotte's POV

"Liam! Come back!" I said, following him down the hallways of the hospital. He continued ignoring everything, and kept walking down the hallway. He walked straight through the waiting room and out the door, me following behind. I got outside and looked around, not seeing him anywhere, until I spotted him sitting under a tree.

I walked over and he was just staring at the ground, completely zoned out.

"Liam? What's wrong?" I asked, sitting next to him.

"It all felt so real..." He said, still shaking.

"What felt real? Are you okay?" I asked, getting quite worried.

"I thought… I thought I…" He said, tripping over his words. He was extremely distraught and the colour was drained from his face.

"You thought what?" I asked, getting more confused and worried by the second.

"I thought I killed you…" He said bursting into tears. 'What?' I thought to myself and he buried himself in his arms.

"Why? What happened?" I asked, still confused.

He then went on to recount the entire ordeal, explaining that he was hallucinating, along with what happened, what he saw, and what he thought he did, all while bawling his eyes out. I was speechless. I didn't know what to say, if there was anything to say. He stood up and started pacing back and forth, tears still running down his face. I got back up and stopped him, bringing him into my shoulder, and wrapping my arms around him. We just sat there for a solid 5 or 10 minutes.

"Guys? Are you okay?" I heard Lily say, walking up to us, then realising Liam was crying, and her eyes widened, "Liam, what's wrong?"

"It's nothing important," He said letting go of me and wiping away his tears and sitting down again, "Don't worry about it."

"Are you sure? It looks pretty important for you to be crying like that..." Lily said, still quite worried.

"Are you sure you want to know?" He said, looking up at her. She nodded, and he proceeded to explain what happened, again, finishing a lot quicker than when he explained it to me, "There, now you know."

"Liam…" She said, figuring out what to say, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked."

"No it's fine. Everyone has a right to ask," He said, sighing, "Listen, I need to go home. I need some time to think."

"Are you sure you want to drive?" I asked, worried he might get distracted and end up back here.

"I'm not gonna drive," He said, pulling out his keys and handing them to Lily, "Can you drive it home, Lily?" I completely forgot she had a license.

"Yeah sure. Just text me your address and I'll drive it to your house. I'll get mum or dad to pick me up from there," She said.

"Thanks," He said, and she brought him into a hug, a frown growing on my face at the sight, "I'll see you later."

"See ya, Liam," she said, walking back into the building, Liam waving. He turned to me, seeing the frown on my face.

"What's wrong?" He asked, seemingly ignoring the events happening prior. I find that quite intriguing about him. He might experience something rather traumatic and be completely distraught, but then a 5 minutes after, he seems completely fine.

"It's… it's nothing," I said, not wanting to reveal any feelings that are more than just a friend, "How are you gonna get home?"

"I'll just walk. It's kinda long but I'll live, plus it'll give me some time to think. I don't want to be in a vehicle right now," He said, looking at a map on his phone, "Yeah the walk is about an hour or two, but it's fine."

"Are you sure?" I said, because it is quite a long walk.

"Yeah I'm sure. I'll be fine," He said, smiling at me. I smiled back and brought him into a hug, him returning it, "Just tell Humphrey where I've gone, that's if Lily hasn't already."

"Yup, I will," I replied, him bringing me out of the hug.

"I'll see you later then, okay?" He said, looking me in the eyes.

"See you later, Liam. Stay safe for me, will you?" I said, kissing him on the cheek, getting a wide grin and a nod from him. He started to walk away and waved, me waving back, watching him leave. Soon after he rounded a corner, and was out of sight and I walked back into the hospital and back to Humphrey's room.

Two and a half hours later…

Liam's POV

I arrived home after my walk across town. I would've driven but my 'episode' prevented me from doing so, plus Lily is driving my car home later anyway so I don't have to worry about that. Speaking of that, I need to give her my address. I don't even have her number so that's gonna be interesting. I'll just ask Charlotte to tell her or give me her number.

L: Hey Charlotte, was just wondering if you could tell Lily my address? I realised I don't have her number so I can't text her it.

C: Okay, I'll tell her. What's your address again? You said it once but I don't remember it.

L: It's 13 Aspen Crescent.

C: Yeah, I just told her. She wrote it down so you'll see your car later today.

L: Thanks Charlotte.

C: No problem x

L: I see an 'x' has appeared out of it's natural habitat…

C: Oh really? Since when were you an expert.

L: Ever since I was born.

C: How did you realise?

L: Because I'm useless with women, and have been from the start, I've even developed a simple algorithm for knowing if anyone likes me and it works every time.

C: How so?

L: Here, I'll show you…
1. Is the person female?

1a. Do they have scaly skin, fangs and a forked tongue?

1b. Do they appear in all ways as a bag of garbage?

2a. Yes, they are female.
2b. No. They are male.

3a. No. Females are snakes and incapable of human emotion.

3b. No. Males are trash and incapable of human emotion.

(Thanks Goatsplus)

C: That isn't simple at all XD

L: Still, it works every time.

C: Well you may have to add an exception… 'What?' I thought, not understanding the message.

L: Wdym?

C: Nothiinngg.

L: I don't believe you XD

C: Well too bad. I ain't telling you over the phone.

L: Awh whyyyyy.

C: Oh stop being such a child. Humphrey's getting out today too. Now, I gotta go, I'll talk to you later x

L: That's awesome. See ya x

I turned my phone off and set it down next to me, looking at the clock in my living room. 11:45am. Still got a lot of daylight left. At that moment I heard the rumble of my car show up in my driveway. I got up off the couch and walked up to the front door, opening it to see Lily shutting it off and getting out, I also noticed Charlotte getting out too.

"Hey girls. Thanks for bringing my car back Lily," I said, her handing me the keys and nodding, "I would've thought you'd have gone home, Charlotte?"

"Lily said she needed directions so I just went with her. Humphrey and I used to go this way all the time with our parents when we were younger, so it was all quite familiar to me," She said, smiling.

"Well, I'm not gonna complain about that. It'll be nice to have some company," I said, letting them in, "You guys want anything to eat or drink?"

"Yes please, if you have lemonade," Charlotte said, me nodding and going to the kitchen.

"Nah I'll be fine," Lily said, "Thank you though."

The following hour that ensued was a lot of us talking and watching TV. We talked about a lot of things, like school, friends, TV shows, music, and even a bit about love-life but Charlotte shut down the topic rather quickly. I looked at the clock and it was roughly 1:15pm. Charlotte decided to cuddle up to me which I didn't see a problem with but Lily found it 'quite cute,' were her words.

Charlotte must've been quite comfortable and tired because I heard her quietly snoring, telling me she had fallen asleep. I realised then that she was quite beautiful and peaceful when she slept. While she slept, Lily and I kept talking. Then Lily brought up Charlotte and I.

"You know, I do really think Charlotte likes you, and quite a lot too. She always seems happier and more calm when she's around you," she said.

"Honestly, I do like her. She's sweet, beautiful, and just has an overall great personality. I just can't work up the balls to say anything to her," I said, chuckling a bit and looking at the sleeping Charlotte that my arm was wrapped around.

"Well, like I said, I really do think she likes you. I think you should ask her out," She said, smiling at me.

"Yeah I want to. Just waiting for a good time to," I said, "What about you? Since we're back on the topic, anyone you're interested in?"

"I don't know. I kinda like Remington but I don't know. The only people who ever showed interest me were fuck-boys who were just looking to have sex, really," She said, hanging her head down a bit.

"Lily, come here," I said gesturing to the open spot on my left side, her getting up and sitting next to me. I wrapped my open arm around her and said, "You are extremely beautiful, Lily, and you're amazingly kind and caring, more than just about everyone I know. Don't settle for someone just because you feel like you need to be in a relationship. The right one will come along and you'll know it from the second you start talking to them. There is nothing wrong with being single, and there's no point in getting into a relationship with someone you don't like just to make you feel like you are liked, because that's just how toxic relationships happen. Just be patient, and I know for a fact you'll find someone you genuinely love, and someone that genuinely loves you." She smiled at me, wrapping her arms around me for a hug.

"Thank you, Liam. I needed to hear that," She said.

"It's alright, I like to help out," I said smiling at her.

"I wish there were more guys like you," she said, resting her body on mine more. The remark surprised me quite a bit.

"Oh come on. I'm not that amazing," I said, looking her in the eyes.

"You really are though!" She said, giggling.

"That's the biggest pile of bullshit I've ever heard," I said jokingly, getting more giggles out of her. At which point there was a knock at the door.

"That'll probably be my parents," Lily said, sighing. I got up very carefully as to not wake up Charlotte and made my way to the door, opening it to be met with Winston and his wife that I still didn't know the name of, somehow.

"Hey Liam. How are you?" Winston asked.

"I'm alright, yourself?" I said.

"I'm good thanks," He said, "I don't think you've actually met my wife yet."

"No. No, I don't think I have," I clarified.

"Well, this is my wife, Eve. She's Lily and Kate's mother," He said.

"Well it's nice to meet you Eve," I said, holding out my hand for a handshake.

"You too, Liam," She said, accepting the handshake.

"I take you are here to pick up Lily?" I said, Lily coming out from behind me.

"Yes, we are. Sorry about that," Eve said.

"No need to be sorry. It's not like we have shared custody over her," I said getting a chuckle out of Winston.

"Well we'll see you later Liam," Eve said, "Come on Lily."

"See you at school, Liam," Lily said, kissing me on the cheek on the way out, surprising me. It seemed friendly but part of me said otherwise.

"See you later, Lily," I said, waving to her and shutting the door.

I went back to the living room to find Charlotte still fast asleep. I sat back on the couch, wrapping my arm around her again. She adjusted in her sleep and wrapped her arms around me again, causing me to smile. I turned the TV on again, and just flicked through the channels, not finding anything to watch so I just turned it off. My eyes started to feel quite heavy, so I just shut them, and let my body drift off into slumber.

A/N: Sorry if this chapter isn't as eventful. I had ideas, but was just a bit dry for words. Thanks for tuning in guys and I'll see ya'll in the next chapter.
