Charlotte's POV
I woke up to the feeling of movement and the TV playing what sounded like Family Guy. I opened my eyes relatively slowly because I was pretty comfortable where I was. After I opened my eyes completely, I realised the sun was nearing the mountains, meaning it was around 5 or 6pm. I yawned and tried to stretch out, but realised I was being held by someone.
"Well, good evening to you too," Liam said, chuckling. I looked up, and surely enough, he had his arm wrapped around me and I was leaning against him.
"How long was I asleep for?" I asked, looking him in the eyes.
"A few hours at least. I fell asleep myself and woke up about half an hour ago," He said, looking at the clock, "It's about 5:45pm at the moment so yeah, you would've been asleep for a solid 3 or 4 hours."
"Well, it was a good sleep, I can say that," I said, chuckling and getting comfortable again, "You're like a gigantic pillow."
"Why, thank you. Now, I think I might want to get you home before your parents start worrying about you," He said, looking down to me.
"Are you sure you want to drive?" I asked, a little worried about his little 'episode' earlier.
"Yeah I'm sure. I don't want you walking home and I doubt your parents would be very happy if you stayed the night here," He said, whispering the last part of the sentence to me, causing me to giggle.
"Awh okay. You're so comfortable though," I said, bringing myself closer to him.
"Charlotte?" He asked.
"Hm?"
"Would you like to go on a date at some point? It doesn't have to be anything special but-" I cut him off.
"Of course! I would love to!" I said, hugging him tighter.
"Char... lotte... Can't... breathe..." He said while gasping for breath, causing me to loosen my grip.
"Sorry..."
"Don't worry about it," He continued, still getting his breath back, "About the date then, how about we go to a cafe or something and just get breakfast, maybe, next Wednesday?" He suggested.
"Wednesday? Don't we have school on Wednesday?" I asked, with an eyebrow raised.
"They're doing maintenance on some of the buildings due to some water leak they found in some of the classes, I think. I'm not entirely sure the reason, but either way, we get the day off on Wednesday," he mentioned.
"Oh yeah, that's right," I said, remembering the notice that was put out, "Well sure. How about you pick me up at 10 on Wednesday and you surprise me for breakfast or brunch or whatever."
"Sure thing. Now let's get you home," He said, going to get up but I refused to get up, "Charlotte, we are not doing this again."
"Yes, we are. I don't wanna move," I said, burying my head in his chest again. He chuckled at the remark.
"We can either do this the easy way or the hard way. Easy way is, you get up and we have no issues. If you don't, then you'll find out what the hard way is," He said, chuckling. I shook my head, "Welp, hard way it is," He continued, picking me up off the couch and putting me over his shoulder.
"LIAM! PUT ME DOWN!" I shouted, laughing and banging my fists on his back, him carrying me through the house.
"Are you gonna co-operate with me?" He said, laughing.
"No," I said quietly, and he shrugged his shoulders and proceeded to carry me out to the car, opening the passenger side door and plopping me in, "You're such an ass, Liam," I said giggling.
"Welp, you wouldn't get up so I made you get up," He said, shutting the door with a wide grin on his face, and walking around to the driver's side, "Now, let's get you home," He said, climbing in and turning the car on.
Kate's POV
Humphrey was finally being discharged from the hospital. I expected him to be out by like 2 or 3 o'clock, not 6. Either way, he's being let out today, which is good. I'm just happy to finally go home. Mum, Dad and Lily had left earlier on because they had to drop Liam's car off and Dad had to deal with something at work so he had to leave.
I was just zoned out at the moment, sitting in the car with Humphrey and his parents. Humphrey and I were sitting in the back-seats while his parents sat in the front. Humphrey just sat there, staring out the window at all the passing objects, following a couple as they went by. He then turned around and I found myself staring at him, and so did he.
"You alright, Kate?" He asked, smiling.
"Yeah I'm alright," I said, staring deeply into his ice blue eyes, "Your eyes are absolutely gorgeous. That blue is just stunning to look at. I'll never be able to get over that."
"Well, thank you, Kate. I must say about yours too, they suit you so well, it genuinely amazes me. They are really beautiful and they just fit perfectly with your hair," He said, smiling more.
"You're just saying that..." I said, turning away, my head being quickly brought back by Humphrey.
"No, I'm not. I wouldn't lie to you, especially about how you look or you as a person in general. I can't be speaking more truth than I just did," He said, his hand holding my chin, lightly.
"Well, if you say so," I said, shrugging my shoulders, and him letting go of my chin with a smile. I set my hand down on top of his and he flipped his hand over and held mine, causing a smile to grow on my face. He turned back around and continued to watch the on-coming traffic and buildings, not paying much attention to anything else. Soon enough we arrived at my house and I found myself not wanting to leave, but I had to. It's not like I could stay the night at Humphrey's. My parents would murder me and most definitely, Humphrey.
"Well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow, Humphrey?" I said, turning to him.
"Yup. I'll see you tomorrow, Kate," He said, smiling at me.
"Thanks for the ride home Rob and Linda. It was very nice of you," I said, looking at them.
"It's no problem, Kate. None of us would want you to walk that distance home," Linda said.
"Have a good night guys," I said, about to get out of the car, but then turning to Humphrey, "Oh, and Humphrey..."
"What's up-" He said before I cut him off, kissing him on the cheek goodbye, a smile growing on his face, "See you later, Kate."
"See ya," I said, getting out of the car and waving, heading inside as they left the driveway, Humphrey waving through the window of the car. As I entered, I looked at the clock on the wall next to the kitchen door, 6:54. Usually dinner was around this point.
"Lily! Dinner!" I heard mum shout from the kitchen.
"I'll be down in a minute!" Lily shouted back from across the house, Mum walking out of the kitchen and setting down some plates on the table, noticing me coming through the door. I also realised, I never actually got changed. I'm still wearing this damn dress. I still had the bag of clothes though. I wasn't stupid enough to leave it at the hospital.
"I was starting to think you'd never come home," Mum said, snickering a bit. I just rolled my eyes and went to my room to get changed. I was tired. Really tired in fact. I hadn't had a good sleep last night after trying to sleep in a chair so the minute I got to my room, I laid on my bed and just crashed.
I woke up to what felt like being violently shaken.
"Wake up, Kate!" Lily shouted in my face, my eyes opening slowly and my body not waking up.
"Wh-what is it..." I said, her stopping the shaking.
"It's bloody 8:50 in the morning! Are you trying to make me late for school or something?!" She said, screaming in my face.
"Jesus Christ, calm down. I'm sorry, okay? I'm not trying to wake up late," I said, rubbing my eyes a bit and sitting on the side of the bed, "Plus, since when did you care about being late for school? You never have."
"I want to talk to people before class, okay?!" She continued, still basically shouting at me.
"Ah I see. So who's the special someone?" I asked, causing her to blush and not respond to the question, my eyes widening, "Wait, you have a crush on someone?!"
"N-no. What are you talking about?.." She said, starting to blush and turning away from me.
"Yes, you do! It's the only explanation!" I said, causing her to blush more, "See you're blushing! You do like someone!"
"Okay! I do! Just get ready! I don't want to be late." She said, the volume leaving her voice.
"Who is it?!" I asked, really excited that she finally actually likes someone. She did like Remington a little bit for quite a while, but got over him pretty quick when he got with Abby.
"It doesn't matter, okay?! Please, just get ready," She said, leaving my room, also leaving me disappointed that I didn't get an answer. Either way, I needed to get ready before mum would kill me.
Time skip to 9:57am.
I somehow managed to get to school on time despite this mornings antics. I didn't even mean to just crash like that. My body just took over when I went into my room and basically threw me into bed. I didn't have the time to have a shower so I ended up just using the classic 'shower in a can' shit.
But now, I was sitting in Physics, waiting for the bell to ring, watching the clock tick by. It felt like the longest 3 minutes of my life.
Everything that came out of the teacher's mouth just sounded like muffled speech. I couldn't understand anything. I ended up zoning out and thinking about Humphrey. His ice blue eyes, grey fur that glows in the sunlight. He really is extremely handsome and amazingly kind and caring towards people. There isn't many people like him.
Then out of nowhere, the bell rang. I looked at the clock and surely enough, it was 10. 'Well, I'm not complaining,' I thought to myself, packing my stuff away and leaving the room.
I headed to my locker which just happened to be a few lockers down from Liam's. As I was walking up I saw Liam at his locker talking to Lily, as her locker was directly next to mine. As I got closer, I noticed she was giggling a lot and seemed quite a bit happier than usual. 'No... It can't be...' I thought to myself. I got to my locker and I couldn't hear them perfectly due to the amount of people in the hallways, but I could hear that her tone of voice was very happy and cheerful, a lot more than usual.
Soon after I saw Charlotte and Humphrey show up, Charlotte giving Liam a hug, him returning it. Oh boy, Lily did not look happy. She looked like she could've killed Charlotte at that very moment. 'No way... she likes Liam?!' I thought to myself, my eyes widening.
