A/N: Hey everyone. I apologise for how long it took to get this up. I have been caught up in other things the past week or so and haven't had much time to write. I would also like to thank everyone for the continued support of this series. We have successfully surpassed 1,000 views and I cannot thank you guys enough for that. Anyway, enough of me, let's get to Chapter 17 of Hello! My Name Is...
Humphrey's POV
"...Humphrey?!" Sienna asked, a surprised and confused look on her face.
"Sienna?!" I asked in a similar tone, "I never thought I'd see you again," I continued, chuckling a bit.
"Yeah, me neither. I would love to catch up but I don't wanna be late on my first day. I don't know why I didn't come yesterday," She said, laughing a bit.
"Okay, I'll see you later," I said, making my way to my locker and grabbing my Chemistry book out. Eventually I made it to class, however I was late, and Mr. Johnson was not happy about me being late.
"Mr Wilkes! You're late!" He shouted as I entered the room.
"I apologise sir. It won't happen again," I said, sighing and walking to my usual spot. As I arrived at my spot I realised something. 'Something's different..." I thought to myself as I looked at my seat. It lay empty, Liam sitting to the right of it, but someone else sat on the left, where it usually was an empty spot.
I soon realised who it was, recognising the brown fur with white and grey splotches. I sat down and turned to my left to be met with Sienna, as I had thought. She looked over to her right after seeing me sit down out of the corner of her eye, her eyes widening at the sight.
"Wait, you're in this class?!" She whispered to me. I just nodded my head and chuckled quietly.
"Interesting isn't it?" I asked, chuckling, and she nodded her head, turning to the front and listening to the teacher.
"...today we're going to do a quiz!" I heard Mr Johnson said. Usually we have Mr Fryer but occasionally he switches with Mr Johnson. Today was one of those days. English was not one of my strong subjects, neither was the next class, Chemistry, but both were mandatory subjects we had to pick. Chemistry was one of three different science subjects you had to pick from; Physics, Biology, and Chemistry were the three. Since Chemistry was my best out of the three, I chose that.
I couldn't help but notice Sienna staring at me out of the corner of my eye. She seemed quite engrossed in just staring. As the quizzes were handed out I noticed she was still staring at me. Soon enough about 30 minutes had pasted and every once in a while As I was writing in the answers to this stupid quiz, I decided to speak up.
"You know, I can see you staring at me," I said to Sienna, not looking up from my paper. I saw her look away and start to blush a bit, "I didn't say you couldn't though," I continued, chuckling. I noticed Liam was awfully quiet, just engrossed in his work mostly. I noticed he had a pair of bluetooth earphones in, and I heard some faint music escaping from them. I couldn't really recognise any of it but it sounded like metal and rock so I guess that's what he listens too.
I saw Mr Johnson walk up to Liam and stand in front of him like he was wanting something from him. It took Liam a solid minute or two to realise he was standing in front of him. When Liam noticed the teacher standing there, he looked up and pulled an earphone out of his ear with a questioned look on his face.
"Earphones. They aren't allowed. Hand them over," Mr Johnson said bluntly, with a miserable look on his face.
"I'll be more than happy to put them aw-" Liam said, getting cut off.
"Hand them over," He said bluntly again, holding his hand out.
"Like I was going to say before you interrupted me, sir. I would be more than happy to put them awa-" Liam said, getting cut off once again.
"I said, hand them over. Otherwise I'll send you to the head of year for disobeying," He said, an angry look appearing on the teachers face.
"Sir, if you'd just let me finish my sentenc-" Liam said, being interrupted once again.
"I don't care. Hand over the earphones. This is your last chance," The teacher said, getting angrier by the second, finally drawing attention from the class.
"Bu-" Liam said once again, being cut off for the fourth time, however not taking it so kindly.
"Go to the head of year. I'll write you a note," He said, Liam's face filling with anger and sadness.
"I SAID I'M NOT HANDING THEM OVER!" Liam shouted, everyone looking over, "If you'd let me finish my damn sentence, then you might understand!"
"Now your shouting at me. Another reason to send you to head of-" Mr Johnson said, getting cut off by Liam.
"These were the last thing my parents gave me before they died! I'm not handing them over, and I'm not going to the fucking dean!" He shouted, tears streaming down his face and him packing up his stuff and shoving it into his bag, a look of shock appearing on everyone's faces, however the teacher staying straight faced the entire way through. Liam zipped up his bag, threw it over his shoulder and left the classroom, slamming the door behind him.
"Good riddance," The teacher said, heading back to his desk, a look of shock still lay on everyone's faces. He was about to continue but was cut off quickly by Charlotte.
"What kind of inconsiderate, unsympathetic prick are you?" She said, a look of complete disgust appearing on her face, "After all of that, all you have to say is 'good riddance'?" She continued, picking up her stuff and leaving the room to go after Liam, more faces turning to disgust as time went on. This teacher was known to not care much about students. He will find any reason to tell someone off. Sienna tapped me on the shoulder, to which I turned around with a puzzled look on my face.
"What was that about?" She asked, a slightly worried look on her face.
"Well from what Charlotte told me, Liam's parents were killed in a fire a few years ago," I said, a slight look of confusion appearing on her face too.
"I take Liam was the one who ran out?" She asked, me realising I hadn't said anything to her about Liam prior to this.
"Yeah that was him," I said, "We still need to catch up a bit more. I haven't seen you since I lived in Vancouver."
"Yeah I know," She replied, chuckling a bit, "By the way, who's Charlotte? Is she your girlfriend or something? I can't remember."
"Ew yuck, no," I said, fake gagging, causing her to giggle, "She's my sister."
"Ooh yeah, now I remember. I kinda forgot you had siblings," She said, giggling a bit. The rest of the lesson went on as normal, everyone continuing on with their work. I also heard people gossiping to each other about the events that occurred. Liam and Charlotte also didn't come back to class for the last 25 minutes or so. At the moment I thought that my phone vibrated and it was a message from Charlotte.
C: Liam and I are at the football field. Mr Johnson can suck it
H: k cya later.
I slipped my phone back into my pocket and continued back on with my work. The bell rang, signifying it was time to leave the classroom.
The day went by incredibly slowly, nothing eventful really happening for the rest of the day. I didn't see Liam and Charlotte until interval, them both not taking Chemistry, instead taking Physics. Even at interval, Liam was relatively quite, looking rather unsettled and just overall not happy, which was understandable.
However, now it was time for football practise, and it was time to see how our team played. I was hoping Liam would be able to make this team great again, as Garth was the only major downside of the team. Making my way to the changing room, I saw Sienna again, except not how I would've expected. She was pinned against the wall by Jillian and he pathetic gang. For context, Jillian was the biggest slut in the school. You name an STI, she probably has it. Rumour has it, she's had 4 abortions, but my guess would probably be higher than that. I rolled my eyes, ready for the events waiting for me.
"Jillian, what are you doing?" I asked approaching her. She turned her head to me, the anger in her eyes quickly subsiding.
"Hi Humphrey..." She said seductively, biting her lip, letting go of Sienna, causing her to drop to the ground. I hated it when she spoke like that. It felt disgusting, "Couldn't resist this couldn't you?" She continued, gesturing to her body.
"Jillian, I'd rather have sex with a dead horse," I said, Sienna now sitting on the ground, Jillian and her gang focused on me.
"You're so funny," Jillian said after a loud giggle, trying to approach me. I put my hand out, stopping her.
"I'm not interested, Jillian. Leave Sienna alone and I might refrain from hating you like I always have," I said, a surprised look appearing on the face of the female's face.
"Why are you defending this pathetic slut?" one of her gang members asked me.
"Shut it!" Jillian shouted, "Fine. We'll leave her alone," She continued, turning back to Sienna, "You won't be so lucky next time," She said, getting in her face before leaving, along with the rest of her gang. I held my hand out for Sienna, her grabbing it and hoisting herself up.
"Thanks Humphrey," She said, me letting go of her hand.
"It's no problem. Jillian's a bitch," I said, chuckling and starting to walk, Sienna falling into stride next to me. Sienna wasn't very tall. She only came up to about my elbow if my arms were flat down my sides, and now was a good example of that. I arrived at my locker, the walk being rather silent. I grabbed my other bag out with my training gear in and shut my locker. Not realising Sienna was still next to me, causing me to be startled when I shut the locker door to be met with her face.
"Jesus, scared me a bit," I said, laughing slightly, "I thought you'd left."
"Sorry," She said, giggling a bit, "Do you play football?" She asked, pointing to the cleats hanging from the bag.
"Yeah," I said, "I'm actually on my way to practise now."
"Do you mind if I watch?" She asked as we exited the main building and made our way to the football field.
"I don't mind. It's up to you," I said, shrugging my shoulders.
"Okie dokie," She said.
"I remember how you used to say that all the time," I said chuckling as I opened the gate for the football field, "Clearly you still do."
"Yeah, it kinda stuck to me," She said giggling. I signalled I needed to get changed and she nodded and broke away, heading to the stands, taking a seat at the closest bench. I then finally, made my way to the changing rooms, getting ready for practise.
