Davina using objects for power and Siphoners drawing on objects really inspired me for this story.

"He's so cute."

Samuel turned, a bit confused by the voice of a woman so close to him. "Hello?"

The woman in question was beautiful and dark skinned with curly hair and a warm expression. She had beautiful teeth too, which really stood out when she smiled. "Hello, you're Samuel, right?"

He nodded. "You're Eva, I can sort of feel your magic... it's ... really strong." He focused and felt waves of heat wash off of the woman.

She laughed, a beautiful sound. "Thank you, you're sweet. You'll likely never be on my power level, part of being a Traveler, but you'll be skilled I am sure." She waved toward her. "Come on, it's time to get your lessons started."

And so he followed her, moving out of his big and fancy room, down the hall to a library filled with books of magic and a roaring fireplace. There was a man in the room, excluding as much magic as Eva, he was very dark skinned with perfect cheekbones and really tight short hair. He oozed a sense of warmth about him, smiling kindly.

"Hello there, Samuel right?" Getting a nod from the boy, he waved them on. "Name's Vincent Griffith, I am this one's husband and together we are going to train you for John."

"Thank you, I really appreciate this. From everything I know, my kind are rarely liked by witches as a whole."

They both gave him soft looks, Eva said. "We don't judge kid, just a few centuries ago Vincent and I would have been forbidden from practicing magic for being black. That's just a reality of the world. People are judgemental and cruel. Now, enough of that talk. Let's get you started. Today we are going to work on building your basics. Since you are a Traveler, and you cannot draw on the earth, you will need to focus on Sacrificial magic, Herbal magic, and tapping into your own innate power... enchantment to give you permanent sources of power to draw from would also be a good choice.

Vincent is better with herbal and blood magic, and I am better with enchantment and Sacrificial magic. Both of us have skills with Dark magic, using our powers and other things Together we will get you quite powerful. We have about five months to get you into a good place, in five months you should be able to get good enough to at least have a good grip on magic and even hold your own against the vampires in your town."

Vincent pulled out a ring, one that was silver with a black stone on it. "This is enchanted to hold magic, while you sleep it will draw on the magic of your body. It will never be a lot of power, but it will good in a pinch. Eva and I both made it. We really want you to survive."

He sniffled, feeling beyond happy.

"Where do we start?"

"Well, let's get you working on mastering your personal power. You can study herbal magic on your own like you would anything else."

"Sounds fun."

Samuel's days moved at blinding speeds. Within three months he graduated highschool entirely and decided to take off some time to focus on his magical studies. Every day he worked out hard, at least two hours a day plus two hours of kickboxing four days a week. When John was in town, which was every other week, he would work on vampire hunting. To help out with this, John got him into a firing range and gun lesson twice a week for an hour and a half each day.

Eva and Vincent worked on his magic. He spent two hours a day studying herbs and minerals and other things, several hours levitating objects and creating potions or enchanting minor objects using the sacrifice of plants or animals, all of which were then cooked by the house. He made several interesting objects, a coin that could seal off a room, a ring that could cast a pain infliction spells, several hex bags that could disable a vampire or werewolf depending on the ingredients, a knife that would cause intense pain and prevent healing, an enchanted hoodie that would resist damage and allow him to not get killed by a vampire in mere moments.

He loved enchantment, it was fun, hard, but deeply exciting. He had a good grip on what did what, how things went together, and how to bring out the most of herbs or salts or blood. He loved it all.

His favorite object was a wooden bird that mask his magical stuff when he went back home. It would create a barrier that prevented theft, masked the mystical energies and protect his magical supplies so no one could get into it. It was, in Eva's words, the creme of the crop for a beginner in enchantment.

Before he knew it, it was time to leave...

"I'm going to miss you both." He hugged Vincent and Eva close, holding them tight.

They pulled away, smiling at him. Vincent picked up his box, putting it in John's car. "You have our number, we are always available to you, kid." He slapped the box. "This boxi is filled with the grimoires you made, plus your magical projects. You are going to be fine, kid."

Eva nodded. "We will miss you too, but you have stuff at home to take care of, we get that."

"I know, but I... this is the first time I've ever felt free. To learn the craft, to work on what I want to do... I feel great, but now I have to go back to my old home, to put on my old mask and.-"

"Says who?" John started. "I am no fonder of Mystic Falls than you are. Most people think I'm a dick."

"You are a dick, Dad." Samuel said, making John smile. "But you are our dick, so, you're okay."

John rolled his eyes. "The point I'm making is to do what you want, talk about the occult, you are almost an adult. Between your part time job and the money I set aside for you, since you're my heir, you have a nice future ahead of you. As long as you don't outright reveal your witchiness or the fact that you are a hunter outright, you'll be fine. Now... let's get on the road, your sister made things very mess back home and between the two of us we should be able to keep her safe."

Hugging Eva and Vincent once more, he hoped in the car and together with his father, drove off back to Mystic Falls.

Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.

This was a lot of fun. I sped through the training since training is boring without plot and I had no plot to show...All he did was train, so there was no meeting Marcel or anything.

Love, your Ninja Overlord,

Mika.
