INFESTATION (A Cancelled Series)

Intro: So… if you've spent ANY amount of time on my profile, you can tell I'm a sucker for crossovers! IRL, I read just about any comic crossover I can, as so many of them prove to be so entertaining or perfect, you wonder why it hadn't happened yet.

Transformers vs. The Terminator

Batman Meets the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1-4, if you count the animated adventures one, not the movie, the comic.)

Archie vs. Predator 1 and 2

Archie vs. Sharknado

Archie Meets the Punisher

Archie Meets the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (I don't like Archie IRL, they've just had some good crossovers. Lol)

Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphing Power Rangers

Alien vs. Predator vs. Terminator (This is a bad comic, but hilariously bad)

Alien vs. Predator vs. Judge Dredd

Eminem Meets The Punisher (This isn't a good comic, but it's hilariously bad)

Batman (and DC in general) vs. Aliens or Predator

And the O.G. (in my opinion) classic; Aliens vs. Predator

What I'm saying is, I really like Alien and Predator, and that's what inspired the Infestation storyline I'm here to discuss.

WHAT WAS IT?

Well, to be blunt, Infestation would be a massive, multi-fic crossover depicting the Xenomorphs accidentally being sent to other worlds for reasons I never really figured out. More specifically, a face hugger or egg or two. Never a full Xeno to ramp up the tension. The story focused on a Colonial Marine Combat Scientist named Cynthia, who would end up being dragged along with the eggs to the first world, that world, being Borderlands.

I wasn't joking when I said this would be a multi-part crossover, here's a list of (no joke) all the worlds I had planned in the early drafts to eventually get around to, each with their own story.

NOTE: Don't ask me what the plots of each story was, I didn't plan ANY of that. This was just the 'road map' so to say…

- Borderlands

- Overwatch

- Sonic the Hedgehog

- Deadrising

- Star Trek

- My Little Pony

- Street Fighter

- X-Men

- Superman/DC Comics

- Hellboy

- Guardians of the Galaxy

- Dexter

- Dangarompa

- iCarly (yes, really)

- Ratchet and Clank

- RWBY

- Cuphead

- Breaking Bad

- Frozen

- Game of Thrones

- Warhammer 40K

- Totally Spies

- Critical Role

- Rick and Morty

- And more…

Looking at this, you can probably tell why this was canned. But regardless, here's the beginning to the Borderlands story…

The Story…

All that could be heard through the large station were screams of death and terror. People fled and tried to escape, but there was nowhere to go. No one knew where the Xenomorphs came from, who was infected, or who let them in. It made no difference now, they were here, and there were many of them. The Colonial Marines had managed to get a decent amount of ground to set up their attack, and the Xenomorphs were pressing their attack. The last safe zone was just behind the Marines attack; if they fell, everyone on Equinox, both conscious and in hypsersleep, were dead.

"They've breached the blast doors!"

"We're burning through our shells! We need more!"

"Oh Go-Gak!"

"Chestburster! Kill it!"

A lone Colonial Marine sprinted down the hallway, firing shots over his shoulder at the xenomorphs that were chasing him. He heard a screeching sound, knowing he had hit at least one of them. Rounding a corner, he ran towards the laboratory at the end of the hall and flew through the door. He immediately after closed the door, slamming it shut behind him and destroying the locking mechanism.

"CYNTHIA!" He shouted, his voice echoing throughout the small lab. "Where are you!?"

A woman appeared, pushing her hair out of her face and readjusting her glasses, upon seeing the wounded marine, she grabbed the medkit and ran over.

"Boon! What happened!" She exclaimed, sliding the last few feet and setting to bandaging the marine's wounds.

"Agh, one of those stinking bugs got the drop on me, it tried to kill me with its tail, but I shot that sucker off. It wasn't too happy, so it clawed my shoulder… Heh. This ain't the worst injury I've taken."

"Seriously Boon?" Cynthia sighed. "This isn't the time for this…"

"Sorry, I just figured maybe a little bit of humor could-GAH!" He exclaimed as his wound felt like it just had the Xeno's acid blood poured on it. "What gives!?"

"Sorry! I have to clean your wounds!" Cynthia retorted. "Some subspecies of these creatures have been known to inject acid into their victim with their claws, if I don't clean it and apply a base to neutralize any potential chemicals, you'll lose your arm. And your lungs, and your heart and your-"

With a loud BOOM! The whole room shook slightly.

"Alright I get it." The marine groaned. "Sorry."

Cynthia sighed as she finished wrapping up her friends' shoulder before turning back to her computer which began frantically beeping.

"What are you working on?"

"A few months ago, an expedition team found this weird crystal." Cynthia remarked, returning to her work. "No one knows what it is or where it came from, but it's got really weird properties, one of them being that it creates and conducts energy like a supercharged battery. I've been trying to find a way to apply this to weaponry or travel."

"So, you're making superweapons? That's badass."

Cynthia chuckled, despite also feeling terrified of what was happening outside.

"Yeah, I guess." She shrugged. "The weird thing is I keep getting what I can only explain as signals from it, as if it's trying to contact someone, or something…"

"You think it brought the bugs here?"

"I don't know." Cynthia shook her head. "I haven't figured that out yet. But I'm close. If I can crack this, I may be able to help the survivors get onto ships and get to the next colony in days rather than lightyears. You, me, Kowalski, everyone."

"Hey… Cynth?" Boon spoke up again, his tone much, much more somber now. "They got him. Kowalski's gone."

Cynthia's breath hitched. She turned around, tears forming in her eyes. Kowalski… was dead?

"He… he's gone?" She whispered.

"Got pushed into a corner, tried to burn them with a flamethrower and superior weapons, they had superior numbers. He pulled the pin on a frag and took a good number of them with him. But we lost him."

"He was a good solider." Cynthia nodded solemnly. "I… I'm sorry."

"Cynthia. I don't know if any of us are going to survive this, so I need to ask you something." Boon sighed, clearly in pain as Cynthia walked over to see what he was doing. He was pulling a box out from his belt. He sighed deeply then opened it, revealing a ring with a diamond on the top. "Cynthia? Will you marry m-"

SHULK

Cynthia screamed in terror as a Xenomorph tail went straight through Boon's chest, blood coating the walls and tail. Ripping it out, the wounded Xenomorph Boon had shot pulled the doors open with an angered hiss, proceeded to grab the marine and drove its inner jaw through his skull. Killing him.

"NonononononoNO!" Cynthia cried, before sadness turned to anger. "GO TO HELL!" She screamed, grabbing his rifle and firing at the alien, who screeched and jumped forward Cynthia jumped out of the way as acid blood flew all over the lab. The xeno began slashing at her with its claws as she grabbed her emergency hand gun and began firing, the alien screeching in pain as she unloaded a full chamber into its skull. The creature hissed and fell to the ground dead. Cynthia breathed heavily before breaking down and crying for the loss of her brother Kowalski and her fiancée Boon. However, her tears were cut short as alarms began blaring from her computer, seeing that the device holding the purple crystals had been damaged, and the energy levels were rising. Cynthia sighed, looking around before grabbing a drone and her tablet. As she began to run for the exit, she cried out as she fell through a hole, realizing the alien's acidic blood had eaten through the floor. She fell for a what felt like a few minutes, then hit the ground, landing on a sort of sludge-like material.

Groaning, Cynthia pulled herself up and felt her spine freeze, heck, she felt her heart stop.

"Oh…no…" She whispered as she looked out upon the Xenomorph nest, eggs and aliens scattered about. She saw the overmorph eggs that housed face huggers, she saw all matter of Xenomorphs, types no one had ever seen before, all turning to face her.

"If this is where I die, so be it…" She said to herself, closing her eyes. A xenomorph hissed and lurched towards her, jumping onto a wall and crawling in her direction. Cynthia kept her eyes closed, she didn't want to see her killer approach. She didn't care. However, while her eyes were closed, she didn't see the purple crystal that had been dislodged from its restraints pop free when another explosion rocked the complex, sending the crystal through the holes on the ground until his shattered in front of Cynthia. There was an electrical CRACK! And Cynthia found herself falling again, but it looked like she was traveling through a purplish vortex. Cynthia remained silent until she saw the alien from earlier had followed, not noticing the numerous face hugger eggs had fallen in as well. Seeing Boon's plasma rifle, she grabbed it and began firing widely, doing everything she could to kill the Xenomorph. Thankfully, its head exploded into green acidic blood. But the blood didn't fall towards her, in fact, all of gravity seemed to be doing its own thing, as everything but her was tossed into different directions. By now, the velocity at which she had been falling was too much, and Cynthia passed out.

"So, is she dead Z?"

"No, not dead… she's passed out though, and from her vital signs, it's clear she went through something horrific."

"Wh..where am I?" Cynthia mumbled, her head pounding mercilessly. As her eyes came into focus, she saw a doctor and a scraggly-looking man with a red headband, goggles and a beard.

"Oh, crap! She's awake!" The scraggly man laughed in disbelief.

"Calm down Morty, go get Roland. He'll wanna see this." The doctor replied. Shaking his head before shining a light in Cynthia's eyes, making them scrunch up in agitation. "All right, your retinas aren't damaged. That's good."

"What…?" Cynthia groaned, beginning to be more conscious by the moment. Finally, she blinked and looked up at a grimy ceiling. "Who are you?"

"Don't worry ma'am." The doctor replied, gently laying her back down. "The name's Doctor Zed. You're on Sanctuary, and furthermore, lucky to be alive."

"Sanctuary? Where's that? Are we still on the Equinox?" Cynthia began asking questions weakly, trying to figure out where she was.

"Equinox? Never heard of it." Zed shook his head. "But, considering we saw you fell out of a vortex, I wouldn't be surprised if you were from some other dimension."

Vortex.

"SHIT!" Cynthia screamed, bolting upright in bed, pushing hard against the restraints, nearly breaking free. Zed was taken aback as Cynthia began violently struggling to get up. "The Xenos! We need to kill them! They're gonna breed! They'll kill all of us! They'll ruin this world just like-"

That was as far as Cynthia got before Zed jabbed her with a tranquilizer. The sleeping sedative quickly took effect and Cynthia fell back asleep, but tears were noticeable on her face, her heart rate was going off the charts.

"Zed! What happened?!" Roland demanded as he came to a stop in the doctor's office. He had heard the last few words, but that was it.

"I… um. I don't know." Zed finally admitted. "I think she had a flashback or a panic attack. Probably both."

"Did she say anything about who she was?"

"No, she said something about a place called 'Equinox' and something called 'Xenos' and how they were going breed and then they were going to kill all of us."

"Hm. What do you think?" Roland asked, scratching his chin.

"I think she's nuts." Zed replied matter-of-factly.

"Well, coming from you, that dosen't mean much." A voice commented as a red-haired woman entered the room.

"Well Lilith, considering the world we live in, I think it's safe to say we're all a little insane." Zed replied evenly.

"…right." Lilith rolled her eyes. "How long is she gonna be out?"

"Five minutes? Three hours? It's different for everyone." Zed replied with a slight shrug.

"Okay, you two, scram." Lilith ordered, waving the two men away. "When she wakes up, I'll try and talk to her."

"Oh yes. Let the siren human flamethrower be this ladies' introduction to what could possibly be a new world. Great idea!"

"Zed. You have until I finish loading my gun to run. Then I'm coming after you." Roland remarked, dropping the empty clip from his pistol. Zed blinked then took a few steps towards the door, then ran off.

Thankfully, it only took Cynthia about three minutes to finally wake up again, groaning and rubbing her eyes.

"Hey." Lilith remarked. "You good?"

"The hell…?"

"You had a panic attack, and the doc decided to knock you out."

"Okay, hold on… who are you? And, where am I?" Cynthia finally got out.

"First off, th'name's Lilith, secondly, you're on Sanctuary. It's a floating city, and before you ask, we've never heard of the Equinox place you were talking about."

Why'd I Cut It?

Simple, Dragon Ball.

I was working on ideas for this prior to taking over The Z-Fighters fic, and when that took off finding success that I am insurmountably thankful for to this day, and never feel like I can properly repay you all for, and I had to decide what I wanted to work on. A story which may not work, and then would mean I had to cancel a bunch of other stories I hadn't started… or stick with DBZR2DB, which was very popular. So, I went with the latter. Also, another reason was a number of the worlds I had planned, I didn't know. This would've been problematic with worlds like Warhammer 40K, Star Trek, Game of Thrones, RWBY, Danganrompa, and iCarly, as I didn't know these series', and wasn't realllllllly going to dedicate time to learning about them…

Overall, I think this was a fascinating idea, but one which really is better off staying in the past. But, if you'd like to take a crack at it, go right ahead!
