(Hey y'all, I'm really trying to keep up the updates but school has seriously been keeping me down, but I'm going to try to give y'all more updates. Just a reminder: Drink water, relax, and make sure that you're not overburdening yourself. It's really important to take care of yourself and keep up your physical health, it does help the mental part.)
Izuku groaned as he dropped onto the couch of the common room and just flopped onto his stomach. They were training for the provisional licenses test and all of them were exhausted yet again, but he was doing extra training with Edgeshot and . Not only was he training for the license, he had to work so much harder to make people believe that he should stay within the hero course. His sword skills with the katana from Edgeshot were the best they've ever been and his spatial awareness had increased dramatically thanks to Aizawa. That hadn't even been considering the practice he was doing on his own for stamina training, it may sound arrogant but he was willing to bet he could keep up with some pros now. However, that didn't mean that he was going to quit working on it. "Hey Izuku, finally done training for the day?" Momo said gently sitting on the floor by the couch he was on and rubbing his back gently as he nodded, not wanting to move at all.
"Yea, I might just take a nap here for a bit." He muttered turning his head to face his girlfriend, exhaustion written on his face but he was still smiling as he said it, conquering her worries for him.
"You should take a break tomorrow, we still have a week before the exam and you've literally made so much progress it actually is unreal. Plus, tomorrow is a Saturday and I KNOW for a fact that AND Edgeshot both gave you the day off." She said with a small glint in her eye that left no room for argument, but he was too tired to argue and just nodded.
"Fine, fine. Do you want to go on a date or something tomorrow then?" He asked yawning, his eyes hooded slightly as he was slowly falling asleep.
"Absolutely, and I'll wake you up for dinner so you don't have to worry about it okay? Get some sleep." She said gently kissing her forehead before going to the kitchen where a few of their classmates were hanging out and cooking. Momo walked in and laid her head on the counter, she laid her head there for a second before looking up at her classmates. "How in the hell can I get that fucking lunatic to stop working out, even when he won't listen to a top 10 hero and Mr. Aizawa, who is basically his father figure?" She asked, looking at her classmates, looking almost as tired as their homeroom teacher.
"Well, have you tried just pretty much tying him up and forcing him to relax?" Mina threw over her shoulder as she began to work on finishing the food for their class. "He might literally just need to be forced to relax because if he's that tired then he won't be able to form that armor and force him to relax." She said quickly as she tasted the still hot soup that she was making. "When Kiri and I were working out together and he turned into his super work alcoholic mood, I'd just hide his equipment or tie him to his bed to get some sleep for once." She said offhandedly not aware of any of the eyes on her.
"Mina, that sounds… the slightest bit weird or harsh right?" Uraraka said from her spot near Bakugou where the two were studying some hero laws and regulations that the class had recently started to learn of. "But you may have a point of keeping the workaholics down…" She trailed off with a meaningful look at Bakugou who just kept his mouth shut and gulped, earning a proud look from Uraraka.
"But in all seriousness, maybe you should just show him how much he has been doing and try to convince him that he is actually overworking himself by showing how much time he actually spent training, that maybe he deserves some time to relax since he goes to classes, then has like another four hours of practice." Toru supplied helpfully from her spot at the sink as she rinsed the dishes that Mina was doing, Ojiro next to her drying off the dishes she finished washing.
"That's actually a really good idea, Toru, thank you." Momo said, pleasantly surprised with the actual help that she got from her classmates. She created a weekly planner and had begun to figure out how much time her boyfriend actually spent training with some minor input from classmates who had trained with the boy, since he seemed to regain stamina so much faster than everyone else, probably a side effect of his quirk from the extensive training he did. She continued on for a while, eventually eating dinner with her class as she made the sheet. Izuku had apparently woken up and had dragged his feet coming to the kitchen, the smell of food becoming too enticing for the boy. He drug himself in and wrapped his arms around Momo, barely opening his eyes before finally getting some of the soup to eat taking a place next to his girlfriend at the counter.
"Thanks Mina." He said with a sleepy smile, slowly waking up with the food, finally getting back his energy and talking with his classmates. After a while Momo elbowed him gently and motioned for the two to go upstairs. He nodded quickly, grabbing his bags from the other room and coming back into the kitchen, they quickly waved goodbye to their friends before he followed Momo up the stairs to his room. "So what's up Momo, you never ask to talk just one-on-one normally?" He asked slightly concerned as he turned to her the second his bags touched the floor and the door was closed, grabbing Momo's hands gently.
"So do you know how I asked if you could take a break just for tomorrow?" She asked, Izuku nodded and looked at her without wavering. "Well, I think it should be longer than that. At least just the weekend." She said with finality to her voice looking her boyfriend straight in the eyes before leading him to his desk. She finally set down her notebook of his training schedule and how intensive it was and his eyes widening seeing his actual schedule laid in front of him.
"Is this my entire training schedule for the past few weeks?" He asked gently and flipped through the notebook, sometimes noting the sidenotes that mentioned how much sleep he got, primarily on the nights where one of them had stayed over at the other's dorm. "You did this entirely when I was asleep?" The raven haired girl nodded at both the questions and stayed on the desk to talk with him more, making sure to grab ahold of his hands and look him in the eyes. "Why?" He asked genuinely confused why she would do that.
"Why?" Momo looked shocked at the question before answering truthfully. "You've not only been overworking yourself but you seem to take almost no pleasure to do things that you used to enjoy. Hell, I haven't seen you even longboard with the guys in these last weeks and you love that. Plus, you seem to forget your headphones all the time and you can't live without music Izuku. This is seriously worrying, just look at how much you actually sleep compared to how much you train." The girl said the need for him to actually start taking care of himself bleeding into her voice and worry smothering almost everything else in her tone. Her eyes conveyed the worry even more than her voice and it almost pained Izuku to look into those eyes that he just couldn't get enough of.
"You've been really worried about and I didn't realize that I was doing that to you…" The boy trailed off as the girl nodded gently, it sounded ugly but it was the truth. He sighed again and nodded, smiling lightly. "I really let my insecurities about not being good enough for hero work because of my dad affect me, and in turn affect you." He muttered and looked at her gently before shaking his head for a second. "I'm sorry for worrying you." He said gently leaning up and kissing her gently, which she quickly reciprocated, holding onto the boy in front of her.
"It was honestly scaring me because I thought I was going to lose you in a training accident or some type of thing leaving you out of commission." She said as she gently brought them over to the bed so that they could sit side by side with each other as they talked. "You're allowed to have insecurities Izuku but I was there when you literally fought him nearly to the death. I can't say I know how it feels dealing with something like that but I can tell you that I would never leave if you needed to confide in me about what's going on." She said gently and squeezed his hands gently as she looked into his eyes.
"I'm sorry Momo, I'm going to do my best so that this never happens again but can you help me to work through it? I know this insecurity will probably never go away but I know I can do better about it. I might just need you to knock some sense into me when I'm not thinking and letting it affect me too much." He asked gently, chuckling lightly and the girl nodded, accepting those conditions. He leaned over and the two gently kissed again, this time letting it continue on for longer than just a few seconds before breaking apart again. "So what did you have in mind for this weekend?" He asked with a cheeky grin, that made the creation quirk user blush.
"Just wait and see you dork." She said smiling,
"So how was the date Angel Boy?" Kirishima asked as they skated around the campus with Kaminari and Bakugou.
"It was awesome, we were able to hang out for the longest time without really 'needing' to do anything ya know? We went to an amusement park and rode a ton of rides, then went and got some food. It was really relaxing and I didn't know I needed it." He said chuckling as he took the turn to go down towards the beach where the rest of their class was with the other three following.
"Remind me why we long boarded down here again when Yaoyorozu offered her limo for us to use to get down there." Kaminari called from behind him as they whizzed past the houses, each of them enjoying the feeling of the wind in their hair. He wasn't annoyed by the fact they hadn't, he was just curious.
"It's lowkey balance training but it's also super fun and I haven't gone out in a while to just ride and feel the wind. Even in my armor I use the helmet because I'm going too fast so being able to have the wind on me and not basically cutting me at supersonic speeds is really nice." He said smiling widely as he swerved around a car waving at the person in it. "Plus the limo is gonna be waiting for us so we can put our boards in there and we'll be going back up with everyone since it would pretty much be an uphill fight the entire way."
"Makes sense dude, but you know, you could just slow down in the armor?" Kaminari said back, shocking Midoriya as he hadn't thought of that. Midoriya looks over his shoulder and looks at Kaminari before turning to look back at the road and finally on the road next to the beach.
"THERE IS NO WAY DUNCE FACE SAID SOMETHING SMART THAT YOU DIDN'T THINK OF WARMONGER!" Bakuogu yelled and laughed almost falling off of his board before recovering, his laughter only making the rest of them minus Midoriya laugh about the situation.
"Oh look we're here and we are never to speak about what happened on the way here, got it?" Midoriya asked, showing an incredibly intimidating smile that had the rest of them nodding on instinct before they finally stopped, and put their longboards in the waiting limo that was waiting for them. He sighed as he felt his feet sink into the hot sand and relished the feeling before walking over to where the rest of his class was hanging out. "Hey guys!" He called waving to them and most of them waved back with a few exceptions, mainly the people in the water and Momo who ran up to him and hugged him tightly, not giving him the chance to see her bathing suit that she had been hinting at the entire time that they were at their date the other day.
"There's some guy who's been trying to hit on me since we got here." She quickly whispered into his ear and he nodded slightly before wrapping his arms around her and hugging her tightly to his body.
"Well, whenever he appears again I'll be right next to you." He chuckles gently and the two seperate to the wolf whistles coming from their class as they make their way over. "Now, who wants to get beat in beach volleyball?" He called to their class taking off his shirt much to Momo's enjoyment who quickly slid over to her boyfriend's side and declared herself his partner. Instantly, Bakugou was up and shouting a challenge back and declaring that Uraraka would be his partner before she walked over and kissed his cheek ending the tirade in that instant.
"Izuku, get uuuup, you're heeeavyyyyyyy." The raven haired girl complained and tried dragging her boyfriend from under the umbrella he was laying under and sighed when he didn't nudge an inch.
"Momo, I'm dead tireeeeeed, they made me play volleyball until one of them beat me! They made me play one on two!" He groaned as the class laughed at their classmate who was flopped in the sand not bothering to even help in an attempt to get up and get to the water. "I'm so hot from staying in the suuuuun." He groaned before the girl gave up and dropped the boy's arm who chuckled at his girlfriend's efforts.
"Well if you're that hot maybe you should get to the water to cool off Bird brain!" Momo said sitting next to the boy smiling at his childish attitude towards effort whenever it wasn't something to do with school, heroics, or dating her. He suddenly shot up and looked at her with a wounded expression.
"Bird brain!?" He questioned looking at her with shock and a somewhat hurt expression, that they both knew were fake.
"Yep! Now get your ass to the ocean or I'm just going to leave you behind!" She said standing up and smiling down at Izuku, who slowly drug himself up only to feel a hand on his shoulder turning him around to meet a rather short man with thinning and graying hair. He was standing too close to the boy as his arms seemed rather short but still carried himself as if he was the next best thing since sliced bread, while the opposite was true, he was definitely not the best thing since sliced bread.
"Now son, I think you've bothered the lady enough." He said with a sleazy smile that made Izuku squint his eyes at his rather predatory tone, barely seeing the glint of a gold tooth in the man's smile. The man adjusted himself from one foot to the other as he began to talk again. "Just leave the young miss to me and stop bothering her alright? That way she can come with me and you can leave her alone." He said with an arrogant air to him. Izuku looked down at the man, seeing he still had his hand on him; he shrugged it off much to the man's chagrin, before leveling him with a glare. There was no way someone was going to be this openly predatory towards a high school girl while her class was there and it was rather clear that he was not bothering in the slightest since she was the one technically bothering him, but all things aside…
"That young miss is my girlfriend and I happen to know that you are definitely not underage like she is, if that bald spot and gold tooth are anything to go by." He said growling a bit, Momo moving behind him feeling uncomfortable under the adult man's lustful gaze as he stopped in front of her more to block his view of the girl. "I think it's best if you leave her alone and move along if you don't want trouble." He said leveling the man with another glare seeing that he wasn't about to move anytime soon, leaving the threat in the air. He clearly didn't know who they were so it would be more of a risk for the man if he were to suddenly start a fight between the minor and himself. The man glared right back at the fledgling hero before starting his retort.
"Now why would…" The man started before being interrupted by a dark voice behind him causing to spin around comically before paling.
"Wouldn't you be leaving this young couple to their own devices?" The man interrupted and stood tall, the form of Edgeshot popping into existence from his quirk unfolding him and Ryukyu landing next to him, both in beach wear. The man sprinted away as soon as the two pros finished speaking and away from the beach, tearing a path in the sand as quickly as he could. "Kid I swear if I leave you alone you're going to get into more trouble than ever." The pro said with an exhausted tone as Ryukyu went over to Momo who quickly hugged the pro before talking with her, their class leaving them to their own devices and continuing on to the water.
"Sensei, I swear I didn't mean to threaten him, it was…" He trailed off as the older male held up a hand and sighed, rubbing his face, which still had the face covering on it. The pro wasn't really annoyed but it was still somewhat frustrating that his pupil really couldn't stay away from trouble whatsoever, even if it was dealing with a creepy old man on a beach.
"Don't worry about it, hopefully there won't be a next time but next time just say you were given permission by me to deal with people like that." He sighed, waving his hand in the air signaling that it was done with and that he should let it go. "You're just lucky that we were in the area and wanted to go to the beach on our time off otherwise you'd be getting an earful from Aizawa instead of me." The young boy shuddered as the pro mentioned his teacher who wasn't his biggest fan right now. He said before wrapping an arm around his old intern's shoulders before guiding him back over to the other pair before stopping a bit away from the two women. "But," He started catching Izuku off guard as he stared at the boy with pride. "As a man, good job protecting her from that guy, your mom should be proud of ya." He commented gruffly, making the green boy smile at the mention of his mother, he really should be talking to her more but gratefully his mother knew how much work UA was and how much more was going to be required from him before he was a hero. Edgeshot looked content for a second before flipping the green haired boy in the air, Izuku managing to get a grip in the air and land on his feet, sending sand in the air everywhere making the two men laugh at their own antics.
"Gotten slow Old man. You should have had me pinned by now." Izuku cackled as the two women rolled their eyes at their respective significant others' antics. The two males began to spar lightly against the other before Izuku yelped, feeling his ear being pulled.
"No training! And I mean it!" She said as he sighed and nodded plopping on the sand much to his mentor's amusement who had to rest his hands on his knees so he wouldn't fall over from laughing so hard. He stood up and quickly wiped a tear from his eye as he watched the boy pout in the sand like a child.
"Whipped much, you little warrior? She has you under lock and key now huh?" He laughed before suddenly ducking underneath a hand that would have hit his head from the woman standing behind him who while looking amused also looked slightly annoyed at the others behavior.
"Don't antagonize him, just let them go hang out with their class." She said gently pulling the male close to her and hugging his arm. "Plus we gotta go back to our spot so we can relax while we can. Our breaks only come in one or two day spurts ya know." She said as the male sighed and nodded, standing up tall once again. The dragoon hero turned to the pair and smiled gently at them before giving them her parting words. "All right kids go have your fun, just be sure to be back at UA by night time okay? I know Aizawa already ripped into you two for missing curfew the other night while you were out on your date, even with the requested later time you still managed to miss it." She teased the pair before laughing as the two turned red at the mention of what happened the other day but nodded, the two pros quickly saying their goodbyes and leaving. As they watched the pros leave the two students turned to each other.
"Midnight." They said as they resigned to the fact that their teacher definitely had a video of what transpired the other day knowing it was already sent to their mentors, and if it had reached them, the entire UA staff now knew. Groaning, they resigned themselves to a much longer day than normal, knowing Present Mic was going to have a field day with them and that Midnight would be accompanying the loud mouthed hero to their class the next day.
"Good to see everyone back on time tonight without any of the lip locking." Aizawa said in amusement as the two hero students blushed, entering last out of the class. Bakugou turned back to see the red pair as he overheard the teasing from his teacher, before smirking evilly and grabbing Kirishima and Kaminari whispering quickly to the others.
" ! It was one time! Please let it go!" Midoriya said blushing brightly as his teacher and father figure once again teased him about it, Momo blushing brightly smartly said nothing trying to get her boyfriend to follow her lead but unable to as he was rather loudmouthed and outspoken.
"Problem child, I'll stop once that video stops being the funniest thing I have seen to date. I don't know how Midnight got that video but it will always be on that computer and my phone even when you graduate." Aizawa smiled before chuckling and shaking his head as he started to walk away from the pair who had blushed bright red again at the mention of them making out had been somehow been filmed by Midnight, exactly at the time Aizawa had caught them and the two students had freaked out calling on their quirks, Midoriya bashing himself into the wall in a panic to get away only to fall down right in front of Aizawa with spirals in his eyes.
Heeeeeeey Midoriyaaaaaaaa." Kirishima said, slinking over and throwing his arm around the green boy's shoulder who just glared at his teacher before his gaze turned to the ceiling. "What was that about being found making out with a certain girl?" The red haired boy teased as he nudged the boy as Kaminari slinked over and did the same thing with the same shit eating grin.
"Nothing, don't worry about it." He muttered missing the exchange of juice pouches to Aizawa from Bakugou, an evil smile forming on the Blonde's face as his phone rang with a notification. As Izuku struggled to get away from the two boys Bakugou walked over, the video playing, making the green haired boy and his girlfriend pale.
"Oh this is going to be a great, great time for these next few weeks Weapon Monger. This is going to be wonderful." The blonde smirked and laughed evilly.
"Alright Class, this is it. Provisional Licensing Exams. You trained for this extensively and you all have progressed at unreal levels." Aizawa said as the class stepped off the bus, before starting again. "However," He said, shocking the class as they stepped out. "You all have to be the best, they are shortening their list of people who get a license to get more higher quality heroes." He said looking around his class before his eyes settled on Midoriya, who stood straighter at the gaze of his teacher. "That means, problem child, less property damage than normal." The student was about to sheepishly retort before being interrupted by a loud voice behind him, making him jump lightly.
"Yo! Eraser! Still scaring your students huh!?" A woman's voice calls from behind him, seeing his teacher pale even more than normal, he whirls around to see the pro hero, Ms. Joke! "C'mon Eraser! Ya missed me didn't ya?" The woman laughed as she walked over to their teacher, making their class chuckle slightly due to the woman's quirk. She threw her arm around the man and laughed again. "C'mon Eraser! Let's get married!" She said before Eraserhead moved faster than the class had even seen, getting away from the woman. As he moved away she countered and followed him, the two interacting in a friendly manner. As they moved away the woman's class followed and introduced themselves, they were mostly friendly but something about Yo Shindo that bugged Izuku, Bakugou even agreed with him while the rest didn't see anything wrong with the boy.
"Izuku, you're being seriously paranoid right now, he's just being friendly." Momo argued with her boyfriend who stood adamantly despite the girls pulling.
"Momo, there's something up with him, his smile doesn't reach his eyes." He muttered as Bakugou nodded with him.
"Something is definitely up with the guy," Bakguou started despite Uraraka agreeing with Momo. "He's up to something and it's seriously starting to rub me the wrong way." The two boys stood off the side as others mingled. "Warmonger, we have to split from them, they can handle their own but I wanna get to the end first and I have a plan." He muttered to the green haired boy who helped his katana's hilt like he was ready to jump into a fight at any moment and who's gray jumpsuit was tight against him, drawing eyes from some of the women in the crowd. Izuku nodded, still staring at Shindo, who was talking animatedly with Kirishima and Mina, something still feeling off, no matter how much he thought otherwise. Their talk was interrupted by Aizawa who started ushering them into the area as it was called that UA could finally start getting ready to head in, as they walked away the pair caught an almost evil smile from Shindo barely catching something about 'the crushing of UA.'
"You heard that too?" Izuku asked as Bakugou changed into his hero costume away from their class but still in the same area. Bakugou nodded and slid on one of his gauntlets before adjusting his mask, closing the case and locking it.
"Yea, we should defend the class first then we go off and start on whatever random task they give us." Bakugou said as the two rejoined their class, melding in with their friend groups quickly, Izuku formed the armor quickly so that he could defend his class as best as possible. The two were once again yanked out of their thoughts and preparations by the man on the stage, who looked like he needed even more coffee than Aizawa did.
"Alright," The man sighed giving the instructions for the first part of the exam. "This is the first stage of two for the Provisional Hero LIcense Exam, in this stage you will take three targets from the bins provided and place them in areas on your body where they are able to be hit with one of these balls." He said holding up an aforementioned ball. "Once this hits the target it will light up and not be able to hit again. Taking someone out by hitting their last target will score you an elimination point, you need three elimination points to move on to the next round which will also be the final round." The man slumped on his podium and yawned loudly. "After three elimination points, you will come back to this area and you will move on. If at the end of the time you do not have three elimination points you will fail and come back here, either leaving or waiting for your class to complete the exam. Put on the targets now, grab the balls and go into the arena, wait until you hear the buzzer then you may proceed." The man droned on as the students went to put on the targets and get the balls before heading into the arena. Most classes split up but Bakugou and Midoriya managed to keep their class together, phase one complete. Suddenly the buzzer sounded and everyone surrounded the UA students.
"You all act so high and mighty, but you weren't prepared for one thing." Shindo called, the friendly look he had earlier was gone, replaced by a cruel smile. "THE CRUSHING OF UA!" He yelled and all of the students threw everything they had at the students, shocking all but two.
"NOT HAPPENING!" Midoriya and Bakugou yelled, and blasted away the projectiles, the balls shooting back at the others, shocking them. Bakugou used the shockwaves of his explosions sending the balls back in a shotgun like manner while Midoriya swung the blunt side of his katana sending back balls like they were shots from a rifle, each managing to score enough two elimination points right off the bat, each boy knocking out two other students each and hitting multiple other targets forcing them to retreat away form their class. The two stood up and looked at the people gathering around them as the man from before announced that two students had already been knocked out of the running, shocking the rest of the participants. "UA won't be getting crushed today, you all just got everything sent back to you. Just think if you'll be able to take on our class if you can't take us on." Izuku said a cold stare leveled at the other students, Momo shivering lightly not feeling what villains felt like under his gaze even though that stare wasn't directed at her.
"Listen up Extras!' Bakugou yelled and stood his ground. "If you guys got beat by us, then you'll lose to them." He yelled pointing at their class, shocking the UA students, Bakugou gave them a compliment? "They can run circles around you guys because they give us a run for our money and we ran you. Good luck! You'll need it." Bakugou cackled with glee as the pair walked away, Midoriya winked at Momo before yelling.
"Kick their ass babe! You got this!" He said walking away with Bakugou to start the second part of their plan, the tight fitting hero costume causing the girl to blush. "You'll get to see more if you get into the next round and by more I mean- AGH!" Midoriya slumped onto Bakugou's shoulder as the boy hit him, slightly red at the insinuation that the boy was about to spew.
"Good luck pink cheeks even though you don't need it." He smiled gently at the girl with a permanent blush which was brighter than normal at the compliment. She smiled and nodded instantly getting back into it and helping her class get their elimination points as the two boys walked away. "Did ya have to say that shit Warmonger? Now I gotta drag your stupid ass back up, we gotta get our last elimination points while making sure we don't get knocked out." Bakugou sighed at the weak chuckle coming from the green boy, as he clutched his head as the other walked with him on this shoulder, the armor helping immensely in reducing the weight because of the wings.
"Fuck you Sparky, that was gonna be a good line." He chuckled from his spot on the blonde boy's shoulder. Bakugou rolled his eyes and shook his head.
"Whatever you say, Warmonger, whatever you say." Bakugou laughed as he walked away from their class until they got to a secluded area, each preparing as Izuku made sure he still had all his mental facilities intact after the hit from the blonde. "Ready to knock out two more poor bastards?" Bakugou asked with a massive smirk, as he looked at the greenette.
"Oh yea, but first we gotta find em." He said his armor shuddered before shooting into the sky and looking for a large number of students. He stayed in the air looking around until he finally spotted a group that seemed to be working together. He created a sword and threw it at the group, following it closely while being followed by Bakugou. The sword stopped the group from moving forward and then they were pushed back by the massive air wave from the pair landing, stirring up a cloud of dust. Their outlines shown by the sun made the group pale as angels had seemingly landed in front of them before stopping when the cloud cleared revealing the pair. "Welcome to the Exam, think you guys can give us our final elimination points?" Izuku asked politely, slightly leaning in towards the group.
