Chapter 12: Visiting the living world
After having their unexpected yet unwanted encounter with Verosika (except for Loona and Jax having a friendly chat with Vortex), the murder professionals were settling in the office. Blitzo was at his desk drinking away bottles of beer to clear his mind and Millie was on a comfy chair reading a book. Meanwhile Loona and Jax were at the couch nearby and they were both about to pull a prank on Moxxie for quick fun.
"Are you ready to do this buddy?" Loona asked with a mischievous grin
"Hehe Yes." Jax snickered
"Alright." Loona said as she takes out a pink whoopee cushion.
Loona places the whoopee cushion on the couch in a spot where Moxxie usually sits and covers it with a thin blanket.
"*snickers* This is gonna fun." Loona grinned
Suddenly they hear Moxxie coming out of the bathroom followed by the sound of a toilet flushing. Moxxie whistles a tune as he walks while carrying a folded newspaper.
"Oh here he comes! Quick!"
Loona quickly runs to her desk and sits on her chair followed by Jax who hops onto her lap in a sitting position. Loona takes out a random magazine and pretends to read it with Jax as Moxxie comes out and makes his way to couch.
When Moxxie prepares to sit on the couch, Loona and Jax couldn't help but watch and snicker as they were imagining the awaiting outcome.
Moxxie hears the snickering and turns to look at the two hellhounds with a puzzled look on his face.
"What are you two laughing at?" Moxxie asked with a suspicious look
Loona and Jax quickly put their eyes back on the magazine and look as if they were reading something funny.
"Hmmph kids." Moxxie said in a deadpanned tone as he unfolds his newspaper.
Moxxie starts to read his newspaper as he plops his rear end on the couch
*PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT*
"What the!?" Moxxie shouts at the sudden loud fart sound
"*snickers*BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA*gasp*AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! *gasp*AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
The two hellhounds burst out laughing loudly. Loona was laughing so hard that she was slamming her fist on the desk while Jax was holding his belly as his guts were hurting from the intense laughter.
The commotion caught Millie by surprise as she looked up from her book wondering what just happened.
Moxxie gets up off the couch and lifts the blanket revealing the whoopee cushion
Millie saw the cushion and it didn't take long for her to figure out what happened and started laughing along.
"Oh honey hehehehehehehe what did you eat!? Hehehehehe" Millie joked as she giggled
"Grrrrrrrrrr!" Moxxie growls in slight anger and embarrassment. Blitzo comes out from hearing all the laughter.
"What is going here? What's all the hubbub?" Blitzo asked
"Sir! It appears your receptionist here is goofing off on the job!" Moxxie complained as he held up the whoopee cushion to show Blitzo what he meant
Blitzo looked at the cushion then looked at Loona who was having her laughing fest with Jax. Of course Blitzo had to snicker after figuring out what happened.
"*snickers* Well I don't see what the issue is. I got nothing against workplace humor. They're just having fun together." Blitzo brushed off
"Of all the imps in hell, why am I the only one to get constantly messed with? I mean seriously why me!?" Moxxie complained
"Oh chin up you. Besides that's the loudest I ever heard Loona laugh I'll give you that." Blitzo smirked
Blitzo's phone suddenly rings and he walks back to his desk to answer it. "Now I wonder who that could be."
Moxxie groaned as he tossed the cushion behind him and crossed his arms.
"Oh cheer up hun he does have a point. I mean look at them, they're like a brother and sister. Don't you feel touched to see them happy together?" Millie smiled as she patted his shoulder
Moxxie only sighs in response
Eventually Loona and Jax calmed down from laughing.
"Ahahahaha oh my satan that was so damn funny." Loona said as she was patting Jax on his back to help him calm down from laughing.
"*giggles* Moxxie farted! *giggles*" Jax giggled as he points at Moxxie
Moxxie only turned away with a grumpy expression while Millie giggled
"Hehehe alright calm down kiddo." Loona smiled as she kept on patting his back
"Alright team listen up! We got a hit!" Blitzo annouced as he came out after getting off the phone
"*sigh* Who is it this time?" Moxxie asked deadpanned
"Well this one's pretty easy actually. I could pretty much do this one myself." Blitzo said
"Well what is our target?" Millie asked
"Our target this time is just one adult male who screwed over our client like so. He's currently sitting on his ass in his apartment so this will be an easy kill." Blitzo briefed
"Really? Just one guy?" Millie asked
"That's right. Now let's get to it." Blitzo works on opening the portal
After overhearing that this was an easy and not so dangerous mission, an idea came to Loona's mind
"Hey Jax, wanna go see the living world?" Loona asked
"The living world? What's that?"
"It's a place where humans live. It's also where we go to kill our targets. It's very different compared to here and it's pretty awesome. So what do you think?"
"Yeah! Let's go!" Jax exclaimed excitedly
"Hey Blitzo wait!" Loona called as she and Jax approached him
"We're coming with you. I wanna show Jax around the living world."
"…What?" Blitzo asked raising one eyebrow before getting down to Jax's eyelevel
"Say kid, are you from the living world?" Blitzo asked
Jax shrugged in response
"Why are you asking him boss?" Millie asked
"Well because all this time I thought he got killed in the living world and ended up here as a hellhound." Blitzo said
"Now why would an innocent kid like him end up in hell?" Moxxie asked
"Because he didn't get baptized retard!" Blitzo glared at Moxxie
"I swear I don't know anything about the living world." Jax said
"We know Jax. We know." Loona assured while patting his head
"Well anyways you and the kid are certainly welcome to come with us Loona." Blitzo smiled
"Prepare to witness what you're about to see kiddo." Loona smiled as she grabbed Jax's hand and followed the others through the portal.
The murder professionals all come out into an alleyway of a medium sized city that had not so tall buildings and plenty of trees on the sidewalks.
"Alright Loona meet us back here in an hour." Blitzo instructed
"Yeah whatever." Loona said
"Alright gang let's go shed some blood." Blitzo enthusiastically said as he started running to the location of their target.
"Fuck yeah! Let's go make a mess out of this guy!" Millie said following Blitzo along with Moxxie
Now it was just Loona and Jax alone in the alleyway
"So what are we going to do here Loona?" Jax asked while jumping excitedly.
"Now before we go exploring kiddo, we have to change into our human disguises first." Loona said
"Change into our human what now?"
"Well you see all hellhounds like me have this supernatural ability to change into a human in order to blend in to the living world." Loona explained
"Really? How does that work?"
"Watch closely kid."
Just like that, Loona closes her eyes and changes into her human disguise in a flash of blue aura and appears as a normal human emo looking girl. One thing that came with her disguise was a pair of sneakers for her feet so she doesn't have to go barefoot like she does in her hellhound form.
Loona does a quick pose to Jax with a smile that said "What do you think?"
"Woah! That's awesome!" Jax said in amazement
"*giggles* Now you're a hellhound two so let's see you give it a try." Loona smiled
"But…how do I do it?" Jax asked while looking over himself
"It's very easy, just think of yourself as a human." Loona instructed
"Um okay."
Jax closes his eyes and tries to think hard. Only a faint of blue aura appears around him but vanishes. Jax tries again but to no avail.
"I don't think I can do it." Jax said in defeat
"It's okay. It takes practice for first timers like you. Just keep trying Jax. I know you got it in you." Loona encouraged
Jax proceeds to try again as hard as he could. Meanwhile a random bird flying above sheds off a piece of feather and it floats all the way down to Jax.
Jax stops when he sees the feather and looks at it in curiosity as it lands gently on his black nose. Unfortunately the feather landing on his nose was enough to trigger him to sneeze.
"*sniff* eh, Eh, Ah, ACHOO! *POOF*" Jax sneezed very loudly as a big flash of blue aura covered him for a second. Loona covers her eyes from the sudden blindness.
Loona takes her hands away from her eyes and to her surprise, she sees Jax successfully changed into his human disguise with his same clothes on. He looked like a normal 5 year old kid with dark grey rough hair with a white streak on one side. Just like Loona, he had normal eyeballs with red irises and sneakers for his feet.
Jax rubbed his nose with his index finger.
"*sniff* Sorry Loona. I'm just easily-" Jax stopped mid-sentence when he noticed his human hand. Immediately he looks over his human body and smiles victoriously.
"Yes I did it! I did it!" Jax cheered as he jumped
"Geat Job little dude." Loona smiled
"I did it! I-eh Ah ACHOO! *POOF*" Jax sneezed again which caused him to change back into his hellhound form.
"Uh oh. I changed back." Jax said looking over himself again while Loona watches in confusion
"Is he really changing just by sneezing?" Loona said in her mind
"This is harder than I-eh ACHOO! *POOF*" Once again Jax sneezes changing back into his human disguise
"Um Loona, I can't seem to sto-eh-ah-Ah-*boop*"
Loona quickly put her fingertip on his nose to stop him from sneezing back into a hellhound again witch thankfully worked as Jax was calming down.
"*sigh* Thank you Loona." Jax smiled
"Jeez you really are sensitive on the nose aren't you kiddo."
"Yes. Sorry." Jax apologized
"*chuckles* No biggie. Hopefully soon you will master on changing into your disguise without sneezing." Loona smiled
"Yeah I hope so."
"Anyways now that we are both in our disguises, let's go!" Loona said as she took his hand and led him out of the alleyway.
"Yay! Let's go!" Jax exclaimed excitedly
