As Always I hope you enjoy it and 'till next time!
"So, uhhh, what the hell are you guys doing?" A confused Nyau asked.
Upon coming back from is mission, he expected to have a nice and calm day. However, as he entered the palace, he spotted Near and Daidara decorating some weird ass tree.
"You're not blind, are you? You can see it for yourself," the white-haired boy bluntly added.
Immediately, a tick mark appeared on Nyau's forehead. And his anger only got worse because of Daidara's ugly grin. Of course he could've known his day was gonna get ruined by these two dumbasses.
"Whatever," the blonde angrily stomped away. "I'm not even gonna bother. BYE!"
The one time Nyau was actually thinking rationally Daidara just HAD to stop him. The bigger male grabbed him by his collar.
"You're gonna help us."
"NO I'M NOT! LEAVE ME ALONE!"
"It's not like I gave you a choice!"
"REALLY?! WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SUCH A BITCH?!"
"All right, who are you calling a bitch?! Your tiny ass is gonna get ruined!"
"BRING IT, BITCH!"
"Could you two maybe not yell. I'm getting deaf here."
"NO NEAR! SHUT THE HELL UP!"
"WHAT IS ALL OF THIS NOISE!"
An angry Liver stormed inside. The poor guy woke up from his beauty sleep by some voices he unfortunately recognized all too well. Because of these three together, he atleast got a migraine twice a day.
Not to mention there were even days when there were awake at 6 in the morning! Why, you ask? Well, nobody fucking knows! And to be clear, the former General doesn't even want to know. He just wished they would shut up for once!
He rubbed his temples, "why?! Why must this happen again?!"
Nyau and Daidara looked at each other with confusion.
"Wow Liver, do you have a mental breakdown or something?" Nyau asked.
"Yeah, chill out, man. It's not a big deal." Daidara added.
The oldest man sighed heavily. "Oh god, what did I do to deserve this?!"
"Well, to be fair, it's probably because you took innocent li-"
"Near, you're not helping!" Nyau yelled. "And how do you even know that?!"
"It's kind of obvious. You two have your fair share, as well."
"That's still not answering my question, smartass!"
"Nyau," Daidara put a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "A dumbass like you would never understand the greatness that is Near's brain. So shut the hell up."
"EXCUSE ME?!"
"I agree," came Liver from behind.
"And he's always right."
"I agree."
"And you have one big temper."
"I agree."
"And you're short."
"I agree."
"Liver, you're ugly."
"I agree."
The old man shut up as soon as the words left his mouth. Nyau, on the other hand, had on big grin on his face.
A vein popped on Liver's forehead, "stupid, tiny midget."
Nyau's grin was remplaced by anger, "who are you calling a midget, old man?! And all of you, stop picking on me!"
"Have some respect to you elders!" Liver countered.
"Ahh, so you admit that you're old?" Came Nyau's first smart reply.
"Why are you all yelling?" Finally, Esdeath herself came walking down the hallway, raising an eyebrow at what she was seeing.
"Nyau's being a bitch again," Daidara answered boldly.
"No, I'm not!"
"He called Daidara a bitch and Liver old," the white-haired boy added.
Esdeath sighed while rubbing her temple. "I've got enough of this banter. Nyau give me a headache one more time and I will throw you in my torture chambers."
"Why does it always have to be me?!"
"Nyau," the Empire's Strongest shot him a glare that, if it were possible, would kill. It quickly made all of the people in the room shut up.
"So," she continued as she eyed the decorated tree, "what's all of this?"
"It's Christmas tomorrow!" Daidara answered/yelled.
"And since when do you know what it is?" The blue-haired woman asked.
"That's because of me," the younger of then all raised his hand. "I've read about it somewhere in a book. I told Daidara about it. And, well, this happened." He pointed at the tree.
"It' so amazing! You get gifts and shit!" The bulky man yelled, once again.
"Owwww, now I get it." Nyau began. "Well, the only gift you'll be getting from me is a fist to your face. WHAAAAHAHAAAA!"
"Not funny."
"Dumbass."
"I agree."
Esdeath couldn't help smile at the two idiots (and Near and Liver) and their shenanigans. How livelier it got when they all were together.
"Isn't it about the feeling? Celebrating with your loved ones and such?"
"Aww, Near." Daidara gave him another painful hug. "I love me too."
"T-That's not what I-I meant," came the choked reply from underneath.
"He's kinda dying," Nyau spoke up. "About darn time."
"That's it," Daidara let go of Near and took a hold of Nyau. "We're going to have some quality time together~" Daidara cooed and started dragging him away.
"Wait! What the fuck?!" Nyau got creeped out and tried to struggle out of his grip, but to no avail.
He looked helplessly at the three who were casually wathing. "You've got to help me!"
Near shrugged, "I don't have a reason to help you."
"You need some punishment, anyway." Esdeath replied.
"You've called my cooking bad," came an upset Liver.
With that, all of his hopes shattered.
"You HAVE got to be kidding me?!"
"No."
"You need to be more obidient."
"That's what you get for calling my cooking bad."
"AAAAAAH!" They finally disappeared from sight.
"I finally feel better," the former General spoke up. "He got what he deserved for calling my cooking bad."
"Which reminds me," he looked at Near. "You were right, Christmas is all about celebrating it with your loved ones. So why not celebrate it with some of my qualtiy cooking?"
Esdeath and Near gave each other 'THE look.'
See, 'THE look' is something everybody subconsciously developed when they come in contact with Liver's cooking.
"Umm..." Near was at a loss of words.
"Lets save that for another time," Esdeath said quickly.
The white-haired boy sighed in relief. Liver's cooking had seriously caught him off guard. "I think it's best if you save skills for another ocassion," he played along.
"Alright then," he looked disappointed and started walking away. "Why does nobody like my cooking?"
They both obviously did not answer that question. They started talking when he was finally gone.
"That was close," Near said.
"Celebrating with you loved ones? Christmas doesn't actually sound so bad," Esdeath muttered.
Near caught her gaze getting softer, giving him the impression she was sad or lonely.
"Is something wrong, General?"
"It's nothing." She defended. "Anyway, you should continue with your duties for the day. I still have some things I have to finish, you're dismissed." With that, she left.
That let him to think, did she actually feel alone? She knew many people, and yet there were only a few she could call close. The closest one were the Three Beast. But they weren't always around.
That said, it wouldn't actually be bad to celebrate Christmas together. And if it made her happier, then it would be even more of a profit. Maybe he should plan something...
There was still something he was curious about. Why did he care that much to go out if his way and make her happier? He didn't know Esdeath nor the Three Beasts that long, but for some unknown reason he could not wrap his head around, he actually grow fond of them. It felt like a family he never-
"Daidara, incoming!" Interrupting him out of his thoughts was a Daidara with a piece of paper in his hand. He ran down the hall towards the tree.
Near had to ask the million dollar question," where's Nyau?"
"Oh? In a better place," he quickly said as he placed the paper under the tree.
"About time."
As he finsihed his sentence, Daidara left as fast as he came. Like a gust of freaking wind.
The white-haired boy scanned the note the bigger male just put seconds ago.
'If you touch this tree, I will murder your ass.
Love,
Daidara~'
"Oh, what the hell?"
Near was not one for swearing. But for once in his life, this note made him do it.
The next day, the blue-haired General completed her duties as usual. However, throughout the entire day, she never noticed a blot of white hair out of the corner of her eye or atleast passing by her. It actually made her wonder what the young boy was up to. Near always popped up from somewhere, most of the time going to the librabry to cure his boredom.
"General! General!" A screaming Liver interrupted her from her thoughts. The older man came running towards her.
Esdeath raised an eyebrow at his actions. Wondering what was wrong with her subordinate.
He stopped in front of her. "You have to come! You have to come!" He screamed once again, even though she was literally in front of him.
Her eye twitched out of annoyance. She followed Liver, hoping to stop his constant yelling. Whatever he wanted to show better be worth it. Otherwise some pretty horrific things are going to happen down in the torture chambers.
The duo stopped before the dining room. Esdeath noted the delicious smell coming out of it.
When Liver opened the door, she saw Near in a pink apron. He was busy setting up the table. Said table had all kinds of food on it. From turkey to salad to dessert, you name it.
"Oh," Near spotted them. "Good evening, General."
Esdeath stood there, awe-struck. "For what is this?"
"Christmas," the white-haired boy started. "I thought it would have been fun to celebrate-"
"Well, well, well, what smells so delicious here?" A voice said.
From the door emerged Daidara. The food's aroma had seemingly drawn him here.
"Ahh, Near! This is why I love you! Time to dig in!" Without waiting for a reply he took a seat and started stuffing himself full.
"What are you waiting for? Take a seat before Daidara eats everything," Near said.
Esdeath overcame her initial shock and took a seat together with Liver.
"It smells delicious," Esdeath commented as she was putting food on her plate.
"I guess not as good as niet cooking, but this will do. You're a beginner, after all." Liver commented. Unfortunately, nobody took HIM seriously and just stared at him with a poker face.
"Where's Nyau, by the way?" Liver asked.
Daidara and Near took a glance at each other.
"In a better place," they both said in unison.
"He doesn't need to be here, anyway," Daidara said.
"He's just an extra," Near commented.
"I HEARD THAT!"
And just like that, Nyau burst through the door. His face had dirt all over it.
Near raised an eyebrow, "what happened to you?"
"A terrible creature shoved head into a hole! I just got out of it!" Nyau yelled, clearly pissed. "And why is everyone eating without me?!"
"Hmm, he might be talking about me," Daidara mumbled.
"Of course I'm talking about you!"
"I'll show you!" Near continued as he took a seat. "I'll eat everything as revenge! HAHAHAHAHAAH!"
"Here we go again," Liver sighed.
"That's mine, Nyau!"
"No! Give it back! I'll shove my fork up your-"
"It's mine."
"Give it back, Near!"
"Haha, let's split, Near!"
"Can I have some, too?"
"No, Liver, you old hag!"
"Don't test my patience, you imbecile!"
Esdeath sighed softly as she looked at the mess that were supposed to be her bodyguards and little subordinate. On first glance, you wouldn't think three of them were professional killers.
But spending time with the people you care about is one of the most beautiful things. And she learned that from this bunch. She learned that she could enjoy things that were not related to fighting. And she loved spending time with her little family. She will appreciate every moment of it.
"Unfortunately for you all," Esdeath starter with an evil grin, "it's mine."
But Esdeath is Esdeath. And she loved showing her family who's boss.
