Week 8
"Oh my God," Shinsou muttered under his breath, "Oh my God".
"What are we supposed to do? Why are you panicking?" Iida questioned with equal amount of alert.
"The superiors wouldn't like this. They're so not going to like this," Shinsou murmured. His normally expressionless face twitched and Iida was making his usual robot dances. "Todoroki-kun's in the room. With you. With Midoriya".
The tension was high in Midoriya's quarters this evening. Shinsou quite uncharacteristically paced in the kitchen; making Iida feeling jittery in return. Meanwhile, you could barely hear Midoriya and Todoroki having their own exchanges in the prior's room. Iida craned his neck just a couple of inch so that he could get a glimpse of the two.
He couldnt see them. Still something told him Todoroki was not pleased.
The thing about Todoroki was that it was difficult to see behind his mostly flat expressions. The Prince of Class A was known to be stoic, and there had been phases in which his walls truly were imprenetable.
They both grew in Japan's hero community; what with their families being old money in the pro hero industry; thus it makes sense they had seen each other since they were very young. And of the many phases in Todoroki's life, Iida witnessed almost all of them.
One time he was this famous kid; whose quirk and family line made him a celebrity since birth. Even in kindergarten everyone would point at him as he passed by – because he's a Todoroki; his father was Japan's no. 2 and his mom was related to numerous political figures in the country.
Then there came the isolation phase, in which his life was controlled by his father and everyday was a rigorous training. Iida had befriended Todoroki around this time, but they weren't very close either.
Nobody was truly oblivious about Endeavor's strict training of his youngest son. Words had gotten around the inner circle of the pro hero community of what went on inside the Todoroki's household. Iida's mom, who was close to Todoroki's mom, knew exactly what was going on. All Iida knew at that time was that Todoroki Enji and Todoroki Rei were secretly separating and their children were stuck in the midst of their awful spat. One way or another, Todoroki Enji managed to put his ex-wife into a mental institution and took his youngest son into his custody. Sadly no one could step in and help the children. After all, Todoroki Enji was a prominent figure in Japan no one dared to challenge.
When they were about 9-10 years old, Todoroki started to not only be cold, but you could sometimes see bursts of anger and disdain out of him. To Iida, Todoroki's silent fury was the most transparent around this period. That was the age where they participated in many camps and trainings by hero agencies. Young aspiring heroes would pay to be trainees in agencies in hope of getting scouted by a prestigious hero school. Team works and mini projects were introduced early on in the child friendly regime, but you knew Todoroki Shouto would always be headstrong to finish first in everything. There was this desire in him to prove something to someone; and he would lash in anger at whoever dared to get between him and his achievements. Iida never understood it back then, but he would later on.
Then came their arrival to UA. It wasn't a surprise that both of them would make it there. At the beginning of their term Todoroki was very aloof and calm. He's no longer angry, or at least not obviously so. Generally, Iida would say their arrival in UA was the start of a major change in Todoroki.
It could be all because of the changes in the hero community that also took place around the same time. That year, All Might had defeated All for One. Iida failed to fully grasp what was going on but everyone in the hero community was silently in a panic. Something happened – with Japan, no, with All Might – that triggered a revolution deep under the what the public could see. All Might changed. He joined UA as a teacher and no one could explain why at that time. Yet most importantly, Endeavor changed.
The situation at Todoroki's home was turning into the better around that time but you could sense the teen, then only a child, needed time to get used to it. He was not very accepting of their classmates attempt to befriend him at first. But when you stayed together for a long time, away from your family, you were bound to make new family ties elsewhere.
It was a good thing that UA's warm and friendly environment loosen up Todoroki a little. However, no other person in this world actually changed Todoroki for the better but Bakugou himself.
They started on a rough patch. Both were stubborn and aggressive when they wanted to. Bakugou couldnt help but challenge the next strong person he sees anywhere he goes; and Todoroki had this drive to prove his worth to his father. Iida was first convinced the combination of these two would prove to be the worst for Todoroki's well being. But who'd expect that the moment they were too close to simply be friends, Todoroki started opening up to everyone else too.
While he was still the silent prince charming to almost everyone in UA; to Class A, Todoroki was their secret kid brother. This was a teen whose childhood was robbed from him so he didnt experience the magic that period gifted most people. Once he opened up, everyone just realized how childish and easily impressed he was at the simplest things; like that time he finally went to his first Mc Donald trip with friends, or that time he spent the night at a friend's house the first time. And the more you knew him, the more you were intrigued to get more out of the Todoroki heir.
This discovery came to their class in their third year. Todoroki was no longer seen as the coldest (though he was still considered the coolest somehow); instead he was dubbed to be the cheesiest and the goofiest. His humor taste was weird, almost dorky; and this was exposed when he laughed at an unfunny situation for minutes while everyone else awkwardly forced a laugh too.
Class A liked that part of Todoroki; the human and very much kidlike part of him that made him so approachable. In fact, despite the icy persona he still maintain most of the time, everyone in their class would dub Todoroki to be one of the friendliest and nicest.
Yet that was part of Iida's problem now.
Iida had seen many parts of Todoroki. The part where he would act like a baby toward Bakugou (in which Bakugou will scold him and they both would fight; yet usually Bakugou would go along with him) and the part where he actually led the biggest youth organisation in Japan currently. Todoroki was both childish and mature; both calm and a mess. He had seen phases where Todoroki was this ball of anger, and phases where he was just this harmless teen in class (who could still made you into an ince statue if he wanted to).
So which face would he show Iida this evening? Would he be angry? Or would he be the goofy kid he secretly was to his classmates?
Iida had never seen Todoroki get genuinely angry after he went out with Bakugou. Hopefully he wouldnt; ever.
"Our hope is Midoriya-kun," Shinsou blurted out of the blue, "Getting him to talk with Midoriya-kun could surely sort everything out, hopefully".
Iida frowned, "Do you think he's mad?"
"Furious," was Shinsou's answer, "And this is why the Headquarters refuses to talk to Bakugou and Todoroki about you being the person next to Midoriya while he was missing; with you guys being classmates and friends and all that". Shinsou's eyes were moving erratically, "This shouldnt have happened. You shouldnt be briefed about Midoriya's sex contracts yet. You know what -," Shinsou took his phone and started tapping onto the screen madly, "I'm contacting someone. You need the talk tomorrow. Or soon... ish."
Out of everything he had heard, being the clean and pure slate he was, the only word that got Iida so shaken was, "S-SEX!?"
That was the exact moment Midoriya made his entrance into the kitchen and giving Iida a worried look. "Midoriya-kun!" Iida called. Midoriya simply walked ahead into the room and turned off the stove. The two occupants of the room actually missed the pot that had been whistling loud and clear. "You... You talked to Todoroki," Iida murmured. It was more of a statement than a question.
Midoriya turned slightly from the stove so he could see Iida. The green haired teen didnt seem afraid nor overly worried, but he didnt seem very confident either. "... yeah".
Shinsou was still texting like a madman . Iida was left on his own accord to interrogate Midoriya. "S-so?"
"Umm...," Midoriya was too distracted with preparing tea to answer and Iida wondered why the other teen didnt share his predicament. This was Todoroki. He could turn them into ice statues in a flick of a finger. "He's at the dining room now, you guys should join him. I heard all of you are classmates?"
Iida was already running his mouth while Midoriya was talking, "I think my impending doom is here – Oh," he and Shinsou just caught that last bit from Midoriya and they shared a look before nodding to Midoriya's question. "Yeah, we're in the same class".
"I didnt know that you're classmates with Shoto-kun," Midoriya addressed Shinsou. The way he spoke was so friendly and happy-go-lucky that it was a stark contrast to Shinsou and Iida's state of mind. "I'm Midoriya, by the way," He offered his hand to Shinsou. The latter hesitated, but shook Midoriya's hand eventually.
"Shinsou," Shinsou answered carefully, "... and I already know your name".
Midoriya ignored that last statement and instead said, "You guys should talk to him at the dining table. He's waiting for his tea. I'll make some for you two; you guys could catch up and we could maybe have chats too".
Midoriya was taking this too lightly for his own good. But then again, Midoriya was not the person Todoroki might have a problem with. Iida was so ready to deny this request. Even Shinsou's mouth had opened and closed like a fish like he was on his way to find the word to say no. Unfortunately the brainwasher agreed to Midoriya's request instead, "Uh, yeah. Sure. We'll go greet him".
"What?" Was Iida's sharp return to that.
"Yeah, we would have to talk to him eventually," Shinsou explained. He then grabbed Iida's arm and dragged him outside of the kitchen.
Todoroki was sitting by the round shaped table; one leg crossed over the other, attention to his phone, and a frown latched to his handsome face. Shinsou and Iida's steps faltered for a second before they continued and took a seat across from Todoroki's seat.
Todoroki didnt address their presence. He seemed pretty engaged in whatever text conversation he was in on his phone. Lets just hope its not with a particular explosive teen. But then again, Todoroki was also among the most demanded teen hero in the country. It could be work related. Probably his busy schedule could keep his mind out of this.
"So...," Iida started. Todoroki was unmoved and kept acting like Iida was not there. This was when it was validated to Iida that the teen was angry. Because even in his angry phase, Todoroki would always maintain some sort of politeness to everyone.
"Todoroki-kun -," Shinsou started but was disrupted by Todoroki when he stopped fiddling with his phone and put the device on the table with a resolution in his pose. The heterochrome eyed teen crossed his arms.
"Is Father informed of all of this?" His tone was cool and calm; but you could hear the iciness to it.
"... Todoroki-san knows," Shinsou referenced the elder Todoroki warily. The way Todoroki was staring him down was similar to those times when he was bitter and angry. It was weird to find this Todoroki acting in such a way to his friend.
"So whats the deal. Why are we not informed by the Headquarters?"
Iida tried to explain too, "Actually –"
"I'm sorry Iida-kun but I was not talking to you," Todoroki cut off before nonchalantly, coldly, gestured to Shinsou to get him to answer.
Iida was taken aback.
Shinsou's shouders squared, "Todoroki-kun, you have to understand we did this because we want to respect Midoriya-kun's requests. We all agree that his previous situation was too restrictive for him. The Headquarters deem it best –"
"And not include us with this?" Todoroki gestured toward Iida.
"The Headquarters know you wouldn't agree to have the guy who was with Midoriya on his absence return to Midoriya's side. And it would have been especially complicated if you knew it was Iida".
"It's complicated alright," Todoroki turned to Iida. He took his time in observing Iida from head to toe before finally openening his mouth, "How does it feel to know Izuku? You sure didnt seem to mind from what I sensed in our last meeting".
That hit Iida hard. Iida not only had hit Bakugou, but he also lied about it when they met in the Ice Cream Parlor. And now it was finally out that Iida had been in the know of Izuku behind Todoroki and Bakugou's back.
"Oh, come on. Class Rep was not involved in the decision making. He was dragged into all of this," Shinsou defended. But Todoroki was unfazed.
"Izuku's different, isn't he? Did he kiss you?" Todoroki was strangely calm, yet his gaze was so dark. Iida was basically put to silence. Todoroki then sneered his last words,"No surprise if he did".
The situation could've escalated then, but thankfully Midoriya appeared into the room with four cups of tea. "Hey, what're you guys talking about?" The teen chirped. Iida didn't know whether Midoriya was good at ignoring the tension in the room or if he genuinely had no idea something was up.
The green haired teen put the cups down and sat next to Todoroki with a good-natured smile. Something in his last gesture, in which he landed next to Todoroki pretty casually, kind of bothered Iida. Despite knowing the relationship, seeing it unfold in front of him was still very new. So far Iida had only been witnessing Todoroki and Bakugou's interactions. He had defended their relationship; as their Class Rep, and as their friend.
Iida had also witnessed Midoriya's life. While he cared for Midoriya deeply, it had yet to make sense to him how Midoriya's life could somehow be tangled with his two overachieving friends.
The sight of Todoroki and Midoriya sitting side by side; no Bakugou around; was so unnatural to Iida that everything else around them was muted on him. Midoriya turned to Todoroki, fist propping his face as he talked close and personal with the latter. Something about their exchange was very intimate. This was unlike how Todoroki talked to his two classmates just then. This time he actually listened to Midoriya despite having a frown on his face.
Then all voices came back to Iida.
"We're in the same class for six years," Iida heard Todoroki said using a volume that was meant only for the green haired teen. Iida could hear Midoriya's mutters of , "Interesting", before the latter turned to Iida and Shinsou and said, "Hey, Iida-kun, you're the Class Rep? You never told me!"
"Oh, y-yeah," Iida sputtered.
Midoriya seemed very interested. He laid his head ontop of his folded arms and said, "You must be very close with everyone in your class. As the leader, you have to constantly be in the know. I think that's amazing," he then looked thoughtful, "Oh, Shoto and Kacchan must've inconvenient you a lot!"
"Did not," Todoroki responded quickly with a roll of his eyes.
"Yes, you must've been! You two were a mess back then!" Midoriya insisted, then smiled apologetically at Iida, "They had to be too much for you to take. I kinda feel sorry for you".
It was weird to hear Midoriya addressing those two's relationship after knowing that Midoriya was also a part of it. Todoroki clicked his tongue and looked away, "It wasn't like that at all, 'Zuku". Midoriya turned to Todoroki and they, again, shared silent conversations as if Iida and Shinsou didn't exist. Iida shifted in discomfort as he observed further.
Shinsou was in the middle of sipping his tea when Midoriya addressed them for the second time. "Wouldn't you agree? These two were such a mess back then, right?"
Shinsou was so surprised he was talked to that he almost spilled his tea. "Oh, no – Actually, I joined Class A on the third year".
"Like, they moved you to Shouto's class? Wow, they still do that," Midoriya was awed, "You must've impressed them so much that they moved you. From which class were you?"
"Um... General Study".
"WOW! And you got into the hero course! That's awesome! What got you into the General Study course in the first place?"
"Oh, well, I was scouted for the Hero Course admission test, but it was taylored to favor confrontational type of quirks so I didnt get in. My quirk is brainwashing".
"Wooooow, so mind manipulation is your forte. Hmm, the extent of developing that quirk is scary; but that would make you a very unique hero. They could use you best in stealth, but then you could also be on the attack by using your quirk to take control of another qurik user or even a villain. And then...," And so Midoriya started rambling, only stopping to turn to Todoroki again, "You didnt tell me you have a transfer in your class! I thought they no longer do that practice. It happens so rarely nowadays".
Todoroki, strangely, smiled a little at the green haired teen. That was probably his first smile that evening after he stepped into Todoroki's room.
Shinsou finished his hot tea in one go, which made Iida cringe. The teen then stood from his seat, "I'm sorry but I have to leave," he said, "Thank you for the tea, Midoriya-kun".
He instantly walked to the door. Iida followed him.
"Sorry Class Rep, buy you have to stay," Shinsou turned to Iida before he left, "I understand how you feel though. Is it weird?"
"That? Yeah," Iida admitted, "I'm not used to seeing Todoroki-kun with someone else".
"Get used to it," Shinsou patted Iida's shoulder, "It'll take some time, but you'll get there. Anyhow, its best to leave those two alone when they're together," Shinsou put on his shoes then he pursed his lips, "I mean, Todoroki-kun is quite... something once you get to know him. But the Todoroki around Midoriya is...," Shinsou squinted his eyes as though struggling to find the words that could explain his thoughts, "Uh, they... baby talk one another and stuff. Like... it's very Todoroki, but worse".
Both Midoriya and Todoroki actually excused themselves to bed once Iida returned to the table. Midoriya spent the time to walk Iida to his empty assigned room and he apologized there. "Sorry I have to take back that offer to sleep in my room tonight Iida-kun. With Shoto here we cant really share the room. We have a furnished room down the hall though, but that is for my... other guests. Y'know sometimes my patrons stay around to rest. Its a bit messy currently, but if you'd like you can sleep there!"
Iida ended up denying the offer and opted for the couch instead. Midoriya refused at first, but then let Iida do whatever he wanted.
Iida opted for the couch.
The knowledge of having Todoroki sleeping in the same room with someone else but Bakugou felt weird to Iida. However, he slept like a baby that night; waking up to Shinsou's worried face.
"Oh my God!" Iida gasped in surprise. Shinsou lifted an eyebrow. "You surprised me," Iida exclaimed.
Shinsou was already nicely dressed in a school uniform that was unlike UA's. Iida understood it was part of his disguise; but what kind of student would be out and about in school uniform this early?
"You're having your morning exercise soon right?" Shinsou murmured. He was strangely silent as he stood by the couch Iida was sleeping on. "You should go now. One of our agents will see you at 7 o'clock at the juice bar on the 12th floor".
The whole apartment was still dark and quiet when Iida left. Shinsou watched Iida exited the door; leaving the latter wondering what the seriousness was all about.
There was a number of gyms in the building. Iida went to one located only two floors above Midoriya's floor. The place was very spacious, with only four other people in the room. Iida decided it was a good opportunity for him to make use of the whole gym as his own private training space, then maybe he could proceed to take a jog in the jogging track on the 12th floor.
Afterwards he could meet the agent Shinsou mentioned.
There was an underlying worry that lurked in the back of Iida's mind as he started doing warmups in the gym; but the more he moved his body, the less he thought about it. Before he knew it, it was already 7 am and his smartwatch warned him of the impending meeting at the juice bar.
Iida took some breather after his jog around the outdoor jogging track. A couple of women passed by as Iida cooled down. The sky had turned brighter and the view on the jog track was pretty nice. After some stretches, Iida went inside the building and looked for the juice bar.
It was located not far from the jogging track with a nice view of the jogging track itself. Some joggers had filled the place to have breakfast or to have a rest at the lounges. IIda looked around the area and wondered which person was the agent he was supposed to meet. Thus he decided to make his order first by the bar. It was interesting how the bar could customize your order as you like it. They offered many ingredient options too.
"But do you have...," Iida added slowly, "Gasoline?"
The man behind the counter smiled, "Of course; how much would you like in your smoothie?"
Iida decided then he would be a regular.
Iida stood right next to the counter when his name was called for his order. He took the glass of smoothie with him and was surprised to see a note stuck on it. It said; "Table 7". Iida looked ahead. Sure was; there was a man dressed in a pair or grey sweat pants and a white shirt sitting there with a tablet in hand. Iida approached the table with his smoothie.
"Hello," Iida started as he stood awkwardly by the table.
"Oh! Hey, Iida-kun!" The man, who seemed like he was well in his fifties, greeted casually as if they had known each other for a while, "Take a seat!"
Iida sat down on the chair right across the man. Their table was situated right next to a huge glass panel facing the fountain at the center of the jogging track. Iida watched the activities outside with light interest.
"So I heard Todoroki-kun is paying a visit?" The man didnt beat around the bush and Iida was thankful for that.
"Yes," Iida answered.
"Truly a problem there, isn't it?" The man grinned as he looked up from whatever he was reading on his tablet. Iida chuckled lightly. The older male was almost a senior citizen, but he had this friendly yet intelligent air about him that you couldn't ignore. It was probably the golden rimmed glasses, or the wrinkles on his two hands that casually maneuvered the surface of his tablet. "The younger Todoroki wasn't supposed to be here last night. But the Todorokis never followed the rules," The man mused, "How did you feel when he saw you?"
"Guilty. I felt guilty," Iida admitted, "Or conflicted, I don't know. I felt like witnessing a good friend cheating on another good friend with another good friend. I do'nt know what they are and it confuses me".
The man grin was unmoved as he nodded to Iida's complaint. "And that's why we are here, Iida-kun,"he said, "My name is Akayama Hiroshi, I'm the law expert working alongside Midoriya in arranging his partnership contracts".
"Partnership contracts," Iida repeated as he shook the man's hand.
"Yes. In other words, sex contract".
"S-SEX!" Iida gasped scandalously. A couple of heads turned their way, but they continued to ignore them afterwards.
The older man casually put two fingers to his own cheek as if observing IIda keenly while a leg crosed over the other. His lips were pursed as he waited for Iida to calm down. And when the latter did, his smile grew even more. "Is it really surprising?"
"I-I-I, k-know. I-I mean, I've known for a while that Todoroki and Bakugou have been going around and and and...," IIda stopped as if his whole mind froze. The image came to him, Todoroki and Bakugou, doing the unspoken. How crude!
"So then you've understood that it's not a new concept for Bakugou-kun and Todoroki-kun. So is for Midoriya-kun if I have to add," the man added. Iida felt like shrieking, but he held it in as best as he could. "They've been doing it together. The three of them".
Iida's hands moved robotically (and erratically) as he comprehend the whole concept. Gay relationships had only been accepted in Japan not too long ago. Some people still struggle to accept this new reality; let alone polyamori same-sex relationship!
"A-are they a part of the Foundation's scheme? Because, you know, because... Midoriya is a quirkless teen in a quirkless school; and Todoroki and Bakugou are our nations best young heroes," Iida sputtered.
Akayama gazed at Iida as though he was measuring him. "You forgot that Midoriya is also the best donor our nation currently has," the older male stated, "Specifically,he's the best the whole continent currently has. That being said, Midoriya-kun's appearance has invited some attention from the start. He's got many offers and contracts. Among them is All Might, who happened to know Midoriya-kun through a shared experience. I would say, knowing Midoriya-kun's obsession toward the older man, I'm not surprised he took the contract to be All Might's life-long blood donor".
Iida was reminded on how pale and dead Midoriya seemed that day in the clinic. He was donating blood back then too. And the next day, All Might actually won his fight abroad.
"Then came the rest of the Top 5. Being a type 5, he is obligated by the country to give back; so thus our other biggest contract is given to him. Midoriya would donate blood in the form of injection to each of the Top 5 regularly," Akayama continued, "Not to forget the duty to be present in important fights so he could assist the Top 5 in assuring their survivals".
"However, Midoriya is expected to give more. His gift will go to waste if he doesn't allow it to be of use. So he's obligated to take more contracts".
Iida frowned, "Whose expectations are we talking about here?"
Akayama seemed surprised by the question, "The people, of course. The government is responsible of assuring each donor would contribute their gifts for the hero society. The heroes, in return, would give back in the form of protection to their donors and our citizens".
Iida's frown was still visible, "How many contracts are we talking about here?"
Akayama hesitated, but he answered rather curtly. "Depending on their type, a donor could have up to 20 permanent contracts and tens of loose ones. In Midoriya's case, because how high ranked he is, his numbers are pretty strict."
"How many?"
Akayama blinked, "Ten exclusive contracts. None casual ones".
"I dont get it. What does exclusive entail in this case?" Iida enquired.
"Exclusive as in these people would only receive donations from Midoriya as is dictated by the contracts. Among all of these contracts, five is with the top pro heroes, from no. 2 to no. 6 in which Midoriya has an individual contract for each; one is for the four last ranks in the top 10 and this one is less demanding, yet still exclusive. Midoriya also has one contract with the government in which he's on of their first in the contact list in case of national emergencies such as an attack to our country's leaders. All Might's contract counts as one, but it is the most demanding one we've ever handled. All of these are blood contracts".
"Midoriya donates his blood".
"Yes. Very easy. Each has different demands of amount and frequencies. Now, as you know, so far I have mentioned eight of his contracts".
Iida noted there were two empty slots. A number that could accommodate Bakugou and Todoroki. "No way".
"Yes, your friends are his next contracts; still in the middle of arrangements currently for they have a lot of demands".
The brows on Iida's forehead met. "These two are the... partnership contracts".
Akayama nodded.
Iida was disgruntled. "Do you have to establish such a contract under your authority if the blood is already enough? I mean, actually getting someone so young to partner up with someone... that's just".
"We would've. We prioritize blood contracts most of the time. Pushing a person to be intimate with another person is very intrusive of one's liberty. That, most people would agree to," Akayama finally put down his tablet and allow his fingers to intertwine. "But Midoriya is a special case. Even with only eight contracts at hand, all of them are very demanding. With a contract like All Might tying Midoriya to give up more blood than most human are capable of in a day, he can not donate more blood than necessary".
"And s-sex is the only means he can donate currently?" Iida cringed. This sounded strangely like... prostitution.
"In a way, yes and no," Akayama admitted, "Six of Midoriya's contracts are of frequent donations; two are for emergencies only. Emergencies don't happen everyday, and if you don't add these two contracts into the calculation, Midoriya-kun can actually take some more blood contracts. However, imagine if these emergencies happen at the same time, Midoriya would lose too many blood".
"So blood contracts are out of the table for now. Nations all over the world are still looking for a way to best utilize a donors' gift without further adding more burden onto the donor. This comprises of looking for other means of donations beside blood. Sex contracts have just been legalized in the last two decades and even that is still questioned morally".
"This all goes back to a donor's cell growth. Academists belief that the gift is in fact an above normal cell growth rate in the donors body. So far we've discovered that each part of a donor contains different qualities of regeneration. For example, a donor's blood is considered the most consistent and very strong in it's healing factor; donors can gain them back in a higher speed than most humans. Still, in Midoriya's case, even with such a high recovery rate after each donations to All Might, it'll take him some time to recover. Bones, teeth, hair, and nails happen to have very low healing component. The flesh is pretty effective, but it's not recoverable as it doesn't have any regeneration function on the donor them selves. Among all organs, the heart has the highest healing component, followed closely by the brain, and the liver is actually pretty low with healing factors. Of course donors cant regenerate their organs so that is also out of the table".
Iida had his jaw slack. They had researched so far into this and it was hard to believe how much was happening behind the scenes of the hero community.
"On the other hand, researchers have also found out that elevations in emotion can increase the effects of healing factors from all parts of a donors body. Believe it or not, in the past, the practice of consuming a person with a gift alive is considered to be a much more extraordinary experience because all of the donor's cells qualities intensifies when they experience horror. Back then it was believed that terrorizing the donor was required to activate the gift. Now, however, we've discovered that any type of emotion is able to improve it".
"Of course, how strong the emotion is will affect how much the quality of a gift becomes. The sweat of a donor who is chuckling could probably heal a scratch someone got from a light fall. A cackle could probably do more".
Iida's gears were starting to move. He could start to see where being intimate with another person play into this. Akayama grinned as he read Iida's expression. "Midoriya is a crybaby isn't he? But most people around him don't have the heart to make him cry even more despite the knowledge that his tears once brought All Might to victory against All for One. Laughter can probably be equally powerful; but the same joke cant bring you the same reaction after you tell them too many times".
"This... T-this is why s-sex is –"
"Yes," Akayama nodded then laughed, "Sex is good! People don't seem to get tired of them for a reason. It consistently brings satisfaction and it mostly gives you the same excitement every time. This is why, among any other methods beside blood donations, it is considered to be the most efficient and effective. Not only you trigger the proper amount of emotions out of the donor, you exchange a lot through being intimate. Sweat and spit to name a few. It has been reported, despite the lack of privacy and it's moral implications, some people have reported that donations done through sex is more effective than through blood".
Iida's cheeks reddened. "Still, to think that you can get someone as young as Midoriya-kun and... and Bakugou and Todoroki to-"
"The latter two wanted to. As for Midoriya-kun," Akayama shrugged, "It's his responsibility".
"Just because he has the gift?" Iida was taken aback.
"Back in the past, people would kill each other just to get their hands on the gift, especially a type 5. Some ancient cultures would even hunt them and hand them to their leaders to be eaten. The fight for an eternal life and to be the fittest makes the gift highly sought after for ages. Our government wouldn't be able to keep this peace if they hadn't promised the people one thing," Akayama paused, "The gift has to be utilized for the people and the government will see to it".
Iida lifted an eyebrow. "I'm not sure if Midoriya gain anything from all of this".
Akayama shrugged, "We offer them protection. We nurture them," he answered like it was the most obvious fact, "Otherwise, they can end up hunted and dead. A lot of people would love to get their hands on such a gift". Akayama then added one last thing, "But if you're thinking we're dropping those two onto Midoriya-kun's pile of work , you're mistaken. Midoriya-kun took the contract himself".
When Iida returned to Midoriya's place, there were two men sitting in the living room with Todoroki. Midoriya was not in sight, so Iida questioned the people he saw first. "'He's is with his tutor for his study session. Why don't you take a seat?" Todoroki patted the spot right next to him on the couch. Iida wondered if the other teen was still mad; but the way he's acting said otherwise. Therefore Iida landed himself next to Todoroki as the two men continued their talk.
One of those two men, Iida noted, was a lawyer in the Todoroki's legal team. Iida had seen the man in the meeting with Endeavor. The other man was someone from Endeavor's agency. Any hero of Todoroki's caliber would have people arranging their work schedule from time to time and Iida had seen this mini meeting involving Todoroki where he managed the kinds of work he'll be taking. However, the topic at hand this time sounded different. "What is this about?" Iida asked.
"I'm having a legal consultation forming a hero team in Japan," Todoroki answered.
"Oh," that, Iida thought; half amazed, half confused.
"The three of us deem it possible to form one without much of a hassle; as long as each member agrees to join a new agency which will house the whole team," Todoroki was focused and engaed in the whole plan. Iida bent his body forward as he listened.
"Iida-kun has a team from Idaten too, correct?" said one of the men.
"Ah, n-no. I'm having a temporary leave from the agency," Iida admitted, "I want to experience working for myself; after Ingenium and all that".
"Oh, yes, I've heard about your new hero alias. Bullet, is it? I think it's an interesting concept," responded the man.
Iida shifted in mention of his hero alias would probably irk Todoroki (Bullet did kick his boyfriend and went behind his back). Yet Todoroki looked unbothered as he opened his phone. Iida gulped, "Yes".
"The whole concept is very solid," the other man mentioned, "Kids nowadays are very creative. They design their own hero persona; have fresh new ideas –".
"Back in our times, the concepts are mostly made by a team of people who never worked as heroes," the other laughed, "But this will make it easier, with Iida-kun being an independent hero for now, you could join force easily because there will be less papers to dictate the nature of your partnership".
Partnership. The word sparked a memory of another conversation Iida just had earlier this morning. Todoroki has started chiming in the conversation again and they continued to discuss about the legal implications in making a hero team. Iida wondered where Midoriya was in this conversation. What would he know about the hustle and bustle of being a hero. In fact, compared to all of this, Midoriya would simply be an accessory. So then what is he for his patrons? They say the patrons cherish him; but is he a person or an object of convenience to them?
At that second a door to one of the rooms opened to reveal a woman in neat clothings. Midoriya made an appearance close behind her. Not once did the men in the living room bat an eye despite knowing this apartment was owned by Midoriya. The green and haired teen and the woman walked to the direction of the front door.
"So what do you think, Shoto-kun?" Asked one of the men.
Todoroki nodded, "I'll ask Katsuki about the potential members' current agencies. They need to deal with their own contracts first before we can proceed".
They were just starting to talk again when Midoriya passed by for the second time; and again, no one was fazed; as if he didn't exist. Yet this time, he made a turn to them and took a seat on Todoroki's other side; a comic book in hand as he lifted his feet from the floor and crossed his legs. Todoroki casually slung an arm over the teen's shoulder and continued discussing as if nothing was happening. And the two men acted cordially. Iida was the one blinking dumbly a couple of times to process the situation.
The two men departed twenty minutes later. This time, they did address Midoriya, with extra bows and thank you's, to excuse them selves in which Midoriya nodded. Iida took the guests to the front door.
"Thank you for having us Iida-kun," the lawyer said as he was making his way to leave; but Iida held them back.
"Wait, let me ask you something," Iida said. Once he was sure he had both their attentions, he said, "Does Todoroki care for Midoriya?"
The two men shared a look before they answered, "Well, yes, I suppose. He's pretty obsessed. Shouto-kun did do a lot of stunts the first time he met Midoriya-kun".
"oh - Oh! Right. The sneaking in part; no one was happy with that. His Father was very upset".
"Sneaking in?"
"Yes. Around that time, not everyone has the freedom to interact with Midoriya-kun. There are protocols and permits; and Shouto-kun was introduced to Midoriya-kun to have one meeting at a hotel. Shouto-kun was injured back then and he needs some treatments. Endevaor arranged for him to see Midoriya you see".
"At first it was arranged to be a blood donation, but somehow, I dont know the details, but somehow they ended up for an... intimate exchange instead and - well, Shouto-kun was pretty against it. He has a boyfriend. But he did a lot of stupid things. He stole Midoriya-kun's number, which is against the protocol. He snuck in to the headquarters to look for Midoriya-kun," the other man explained, "Very unlike Todoroki-kun; but you see how they are now".
"Nowadays we accept it as a part of normalcy to have Shouto-kun appearing out of nowhere next to Midoriya-kun".
They had lunch together not long after. Chisaki was cooking and despite not being able to see his mouth, Iida could somehow know the man was grinning. He's creepy as usual.
All the while, Iida was still wondering about what kind of relationship Todoroki and Midoriya had; and of course, Bakugou. There was the fact that Midoriya holds the most wanted gift among heroes. Yet, would Todoroki did a lot of the stupid things his legal team told Iida he had done for Midoriya? That was very uncharacteristic.
Or was it Midoriya's own gift that made Todoroki head over heels without his control? Was this relationship genuine, or contract based?
"I would be leaving after lunch. I have a mission in the outskirts," Todoroki announced. He was dressed in his hero costume like he was ready to go anytime.
Midoriya hummed in understanding. The both of them had been acting pretty casual around one another and Iida had been paying close attention. "By the way it's nice to see that they're finally reconsidering your ideas, Shouto," Midoriya said while playing with his foods, "Back then they were pretty adamant on not letting you leave the agency".
"Only because dad's willing to listen to you," Todoroki half scoffed at his plate, "He's so stubborn I couldn't get to him".
Iida was somehow stunned at this revelation. He thought he just discovered something.
"Ooh, lemme get the dessert. Chisaki-san made this awesome brownie!" Midoriya left the table right after he took his last bite. Todoroki was still calmly finishing his food when Iida opened his mouth.
"It was his idea, isn't it?" Iida murmured in disbelief and pointed slowly at the direction of where Midoriya was going, "The Hero Allegiance?"
Todoroki didn't even look up from his plate when he nodded. Iida was very surprised by this finding, "Todoroki-kun, I -"
"Don't be mistaken, I'm mad. I honestly dont want you here," Todoroki said out of the blue, "I only forgave you because 'Zuku asked me to. I cant promise you Katsuki will behave though. That guy is willing to butt heads with 'Zuku if he feels like it".
Iida instantly jumped from his seat and made the perfect L shaped bow to his friend, "I am sorry! I didnt mean to lie to you and Bakugou-kun! Nor did I planned to attack him!"
Todoroki was sighing pretty loudly. He pretty much understood Iida's antics. The guy wouldn't stop apologizing until he embarrassed himself. "Forget about it. I'm the least of your concerns. Drop all of that to Katsuki, please, Iida-kun".
Iida stood to his full height and watched his friend carefully. Todoroki didn't seem to care at this point. "I don't want Zuku to get mad at me for acting mean to you, so don't act like I've been harassing you".
That statement implies many things. "Todoroki-kun, I wonder why you stick to Midoriya so much even though you have Bakugou-kun on your side?"
The other teen simply rolled his eyes, "That's none of your business, Iida-kun".
"Sorry I just got here. How are you, Class-rep? Are you okay? Did Todoroki try to kill you?" Shinsou said hurriedly after Iida opened the front door for him. Iida glanced at him weirdly as he walked inside the apartment.
"Umm, I'm good. No, he didnt kill me".
Shinsou eyed the whole place warily as if checking if this was a trap and Iida was forced to say he was fine. "I've been worrying over the fact that he might attack you or something. He's not happy you're with Midoriya the whole time".
"Look, Shinsou-kun, I'm fine. I think... I think he wouldnt kill me while Midoriya is here," Iida cleared, "Actually we just had lunch together and Chisaki just left. Todoroki told me he's also leaving soon for a mission. They're currently having their goodbyes".
"And he didn't kick you out? Really?" Shinsou seemed very disgruntled.
"No, he did not". Iida stopped to look at his friend, "You know what, I'm still confused about this whole partnership contract. Are they in a contract or is this a relationship?"
"What are you talking about?" Shinsou turned around to see him.
"At first I thought maybe it's a casual relationship; for the sake of being the best pro heroes. I mean, those two are the most compassionate people I know. But they are also the most ambitious people I know. Would they compromise their relationship for the sake of being the best heroes out there? I think so," Iida frowned, "But I've also been hearing other stuff from other people around them and I saw how they interact; and this confuses me even more. Dont you know that Todoroki and Bakugou listened to someone else's ideas? For once? They are building a hero allegiance because Midoriya-kun told them so!"
"Class Rep, I think you're making this more complicated that it i – oh crap!"
Just as he said that, they actually caught the sight of Midoiya and Todoroki from the door leading to the kitchen. There, Midoriya was sitting on the countertop and Todoroki stood right between his leg; head sinking to Midoriya's shirt in what seemed like a loose yet intimate embrace. Shinsou quickly grabbed Iida's shirt to pull him out of their view. "Casual," Shinsou stated as sarcastic as his flat toned voice allowed, "Yeah. That is absolutely casual".
Iida's jaw opened and closed like a broken robot. "Shinsou-kun, i-is that... A-are they g-going to have s-sex?"
"No, Class Rep. Todoroki is having a mission soon; he's not having sex anytime right before that," Shinsou exasperatedly explained.
Shinsou decided it was best for them to leave Midoriya and Todoroki alone for their goodbyes. "You don't want to know what they're doing over there," Shinsou deadpanned. The two boys actually met up with them in the living room as Todoroki was ready to leave.
Of course Todoroki had to make a show by pausing by the window sill, with his feet and hands on the window frame as he faced Midoriya.
"I'll be seeing you again soon," Todoroki murmured softly to Midoriya.
"Okay".
"Don't miss me too much".
"Okay".
"I'll be missing you".
"I'll miss you too".
Shinsou was practically shifting in discomfort as Iida was struck by this weird sense of inappropriacy. This was way more innocent than how Todoroki and Bakugou would interact; but there was an air of intimacy that you wouldn't be able to deny. It made Iida wanted to look down to his feet; and it was a feeling he recognize to appear whenever Todoroki and Bakugou were in the room and not caring.
Todoroki did lean for a kiss on the lips; though thankfully it was blocked by Midoriya's head as he was standing between Todoroki and Iida and Shinsou. He patted Midoriya's cheek softly as he gave a sappy smile. He then said, "Don't kiss anyone weird," and for a second there, he sent a very sharp look to Iida before his smile returned, "Bye". The teen, in his hero costume, throw himself back and out of the window; billowing hair and all that – looking exactly like the poster teen hero you'd imagine out of a movie.
Shinsou, however, frowned at the irrationality of it all. "Why do they always insist on leaving and entering from the window?"
Iida watched Midoriya waving as he looked down from the opened window. The kid never seemed lonelier before. "It's uh... heroic. That's what my brother said". Iida's older brother had a thing with entering and leaving through the window too.
"All Might breaks the window. All the time," Shinsou sighed.

What do you think about this chapter? I do have to take out important explanations as its not the time to expose everything yet lol. But then tell me about what you think of their relationship! I really want to know!
