Noah was four now. Roman had just moved into his new apartment. Diana had graduated High school after Noah's first birthday. She was working at a bar with Dean, he had been the one to get her the job.
She was also taking courses at the community college in the next town. She watched as Roman walked in and took a seat at the bar.
"I have ten more minutes and then I'm all yours", she said.
He liked the sound of that. What he didn't like was the stares she got from men who lived out of town. She and Brie caught a lot of attention.
Victor had to set a few men straight when they tried to hit up Brie.
"Can I get you a beer?", Dean asked.
"No, driving. Then I have Noah tonight, picking him up from my sister's house later", he said.
Dean smirked.
"Is D still riding your D", Dean whispered.
Brie heard him and slapped the back of his head.
"I'm telling Vic", she said.
"Oh come on B, it was a joke.", Dean shouted after her.
Brie shook her head at him.
"None of your business", Roman replied.
"That's a yes. Hurry it up will you, I want another nephew or a niece this time, I'm not picky", Dean said.
Roman laughed softly, shaking his head at his best friend. Diana came out from the back with a box of food for Noah. French fries with bacon and melted cheese were his go to.
"Have a nice night", Dean winked.
Roman smirked and followed after Diana. He drove them to an empty field, the same empty field they drove to when they got the urge to take care of their needs.
Diana straddled him and kissed him. Roman's hands roamed her body before he unzipped the waitress outfit. Diana unbuttoned and unzipped his jeans before removing the outfit she had on and lowering her underwear.
"Fuck baby", he whispered against her lips.
He checked the door for the condoms. Empty.
"Hold on", he said.
Her hand was working him and it was hard to concentrate. He checked the glove box. Empty.
"Roman", she moaned, kissing his neck.
"I know I have a new pack", he said, more to himself.
She smiled as he frantically looked.
"Fuck, babe, I need to look under the seat", he said.
She nodded and climbed off him. He removed his clothes after she did and got off his truck, searching underneath. He found the box, but it was empty.
"Oh fuck me. Just my luck", he mumbled.
"What's wrong?", she asked.
He lifted the box and shook it out.
"How's your pull out game?", she asked.
"You know its damn strong", he smirked and got back in the truck.
He pulled her to him by her calves and made himself comfortable between her legs.
The next day, everyone was over at the house. Roman had offered to wash her parents cars. Noah helping his dad as best he could. Diana smiled as she watched them from the window.
"What's with the smile?", her mom teased.
Diana looked away from Roman and shook her head.
"Its Noah, he can barely hold the water hose.", she said.
"Sure", Brie smirked.
Her mom and Brie joined her and they glanced outside. Roman had removed his wet shirt as Noah accidentally wet him.
"Wow", all three women said.
Victor and Dean cleared their throats and the women jumped.
"Go tell Roman to put a damn shirt on", Victor said.
Dean laughed and made his way out after saying hello to Maria.
"I'm telling Mr. Mendoza", he said.
Maria laughed. Victor kissed Brie before following with some drinks. Diana noticed Roman had spotted her and he winked. She shook her head at him and he smiled.
"You missed a spot Noah", Dean said, Noah followed him.
Victor nudged Roman.
"She's in love with you", he said.
Roman chuckled.
"She's in love with the great sex we have. Not me", Roman said.
"Dude, that's my sister. Come on", Victor said, making a disgusted face.
Roman laughed. Dean handed Noah a small bucket full of water. He lifted him over Roman and Victor.
"Now Noah", he shouted.
He turned it over, wetting both Victor and Roman.
"Oh its on now", Victor said.
"Run for it Noah", Dean shouted.
Noah laughed and followed his uncle Dean behind a tree. Victor got another bucket and Roman the hose.
"Oh where could Noah have gone?", Roman said.
"I don't know man, he just disappeared", Victor said.
They each went around the tree.
"Got you", Roman shouted and started spraying Noah and Dean.
Noah was laughing so hard, Roman couldn't help but smile. His son was a happy, energetic kid and he was thankful for that.
"Dad, no more", Noah laughed.
Roman dropped the hose and went to lift his son, tossing him in the air.
"We lost this battle Noah, but we'll come back stronger", Dean said, high fiving Noah.
"Okay uncle Dean", he replied.
"Hey, you four, dry up. Lunch is ready", Diana said.
They sent her a thumbs up as Noah ran over to her. She laughed softly as she wrapped her son up in a towel.
"Shower time mister", she said.
"Oh mom, do I have too?", he asked.
"Yes", she laughed softly at his cute pout.
"Fine", he mumbled.
"You'll thank me later when you don't get sick", she said.
"Come on Noah, I'll turn the warm water on for you", his grandma said.
He nodded. Roman stepped over to her as Dean and Victor went to the side of the house to remove their wet clothes and wrapping a towel around their waist.
Brie took their clothes and tossed it in the washer, along with Noah's.
"And your clothes?", Diana asked.
He set his hands on her hips.
"I might need a little help", he said.
Wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Let me get my dad then", she said.
He stopped her.
"Hold the towel for me?", he asked.
She nodded, covering his bottom half with the towel as he removed his shorts. She took them and tossed them towards the open door. Brie grabbed them and tossed them into the washer.
Diana's eyes glanced down inside the towel and Roman tipped her chin up.
"My eyes are up here", he said.
"But I like what's down there", she replied.
He bit his lip.
"Is that all I'm good for?", he asked.
She met his eyes.
"Hey, you know that's not it. I was just teasing you", she said softly, placing her hand against his cheek.
She kissed his cheek. Taking his hand and pulling him into the house.
"Come on", she said.
Roman had Noah for the week. His son was fast asleep, wiped out from the day. He laid his son down in his room, covering him.
"Dad", Noah said softly.
"Yeah buddy?", he asked.
"I love you, I had a lot of fun today", Noah said, eyes still closed.
Roman smiled.
"Me too. I love you, goodnight", he replied.
He kissed his son's head before turning off the light. Closing the door to his room. Before he could make his way to his, someone knocked. Answering, it was Diana.
"Hey, did Noah forget something?", he asked.
"I'm not here for Noah. I think you and I need to talk", she said.
He swallowed, hating those words because he knew what came next. Though they weren't technically dating. He let her in and they sat in the living room.
"So?", he asked, almost afraid too.
"I just couldn't get what you said out of my head.", she said.
"What?", he asked.
"About me only wanting you for one thing. You do know I was just teasing you, right? I don't want you to feel like I don't care about you", she said.
"Diana", he said.
"No, I'm serious. The way you said it, it felt like you really believed that. Like you feel that I'm using you for sex and I'm not okay with that", she said.
"That's not true. I know you care about me, you are my best friend.", he said.
"Maybe we shouldn't be having sex", she said.
He stood up.
"Diana", he said.
If he wasn't having sex with her, would she find someone else to fill her needs?
"Its complicating our co-parenting. I love you and I don't want to ever hate you or make you feel like I'm using you", she said.
She was going to walk out, but he stopped her.
"No, please. I was just teasing you too, I shouldn't have said it. I didn't mean to upset you", he said.
She looked up into his eyes.
"Rome", she said softly.
He rested his forehead against hers.
"Please don't end this. No one else's pull out game is stronger than mine", he said.
She laughed and playfully slapped his arm.
"We trust each other with that, D. It works for us.", he said.
She exhaled and nodded.
"Stay the night?", he asked, pulling her hand to follow him.
She smiled and nodded.
"But I have to be out of here before Noah wakes", she whispered as they passed his room.
"Promise", Roman replied.
