The Battle of Olympus part 1

After Zeus had crushed the rebellion on Mount Olympus by changing all who stood against him into loyal monsters, the King of the Gods had called a meeting with all the other Olympian Gods who were still loyal to him: Poseidon. Hades. Hermes. Helios and Artemis, as he knew he needed to unite them against the fallen Goddess of War, his granddaughter Calliope.

As he sat on his throne, with next to him his drunken wife Hera, he started with his speech. "My fellow Gods. We were forged in victory. A victory that ended the Great War and brought forth the reign of Mount Olympus. Born from the depths of the Underworld. Rooted in the river of souls. Our mountain emerged out of the chaos. As it grew, so too did the might of the Olympians. We created a world of peace. A world of prosperity. A world that lives in the shadow and safety of my mountain. A mountain that has come to be the absolute measure of strength and power! Now on this day, that power is to be tested. The mortal Calliope and the ex Fury Queen Alecto, seek to destroy all that I have wrought! Brothers, sisters, put aside the petty grievances that have splintered us for so long. We will unite. We will stand together. And I will wipe out this plague! Olympus will prevail!"

As all the present Gods and Goddesses were about to say that they were willing to put aside their differences to stop a common enemy, a sudden rumbling was shaking the foundations of Olympus before a guard ran into the Throne Room, calling out to the King of the Gods. "Lord Zeus! Lord Zeus! You're... you're not gonna believe this! It's the Titans! THE TITANS HAVE ESCAPED AND ARE ATTACKING OLYMPUS!"

Hades could not believe this. "What!? That's impossible! The Titans are all imprisoned in Tartarus!"

Zeus frowned as he realized that Calliope had used the power of the now deceased Sisters of Fate. "Calliope must have returned to the past and taken the Titans before I destroyed them thousands of years ago." He concluded before he then stood up from his throne, leaving the Throne Room with the other Gods following him. "No matter. We'll show Lady Death the true power of Olympus."

Zeus and the other Gods looked down from the balcony, seeing the dozens of Titans climbing the high mountain. Helios spotted his flying chariot and jumped onto it before flying down to attack the Titans. Hermes used his amazing speed and ran fastly down the mountain and Hades and Artemis jumped down too, ready to kill the Titans again.

Zeus nodded at Hercules, who stood not far from them with an army of undead soldiers. "Attack!" Hercules ordered, sending the mindless monsters to attack the Titans blindly before dozens of them landed on Gaia's arm.

Calliope and Alecto were both on Gaia's shoulder as Lady Death then called out loud above. "ZEUS! Your granddaughter and her 1 true love have returned! AND WE BRING THE DESTRUCTION OF OLYMPUS!"

Helios flew above and fired a fireball at Gaia's arm, calling to the fallen Goddess and former queen of the Furies. "The Titans will fail again, Calliope!" But then suddenly, Helios' chariot was hit by something. He looked at his left and saw the winged stallion Pegasus, who neighed in anger at the Sun God. "Pegasus! You dare to stand against the might of Olympus!? So be it!"

As Helios tried to avoid Pegasus, he dived down to the other Titans, intending to use his Godly powers to destroy them before Pegasus pursued him!

Back with Calliope and Alecto

Dozens of undead soldiers landed near the two heroes, surrounding them. But Calliope and Alecto were not going to be stopped by a mindless mob of undead soldiers and charged at them, using their weapons and magic to easily kill them all.

When they were all dead, Calliope and Alecto saw a rock Titan break off a piece of the mountain and throw it up to where it almost hit the balcony where Zeus and Poseidon were. Poseidon then nodded to his brother and dived off the balcony and right into the rock Titan, sending him down into the water, much to Calliope and Alecto's horror before water line creatures bursted out of the sea!

Suddenly, Gaia felt something grab her. "Calliope. Alecto, something has me! I can't move. Free me." She told her friends before blowing on the part of her arm that had fire on it, clearing a path for them.

But before they could advance, the Ghost of Sparta and her Fury lover killed a few more undead soldiers before getting to Gaia's hand, killing more soldiers along the way before a Hippocampi of Poseidon appeared! The Hippocampi proved to be a powerful adversary for Calliope and Alecto, attacking with their massive, arthropodal limbs, either trying to slam them on the 2 lovers or swinging them through the air that Calliope and Alecto avoided as the sea stallion also used water-based powers, either spitting a highly pressurized jet of water from their mouth, or rearing back and creating a large shockwave of water by smashing the ground with their bulk.

Calliope and Alecto then used their weapons to hurt the sea creature while also holding on to Gaia's hand when she moved it until Alecto stunned the creature long enough for Calliope to rip its lower jaw off with her blades!

Alecto then grabbed her lover before flying her onto the mountain before they killed more undead soldiers and Calliope opened a few chests along the way, even seeing one of their new Titan friends battling Helios while Pegasus still went after him. The 2 lovers then got to where Gaia's head was and saw another sea stallion break through her chest, making her yell in pain before she grabbed it in her large hand.

"My friends, help me!" Gaia called out before Alecto went to help her new friend while Calliope went inside a chamber with more undead soldiers and a centaur. Calliope easily dealt with them all thanks to her last encounters with the centaurs and after they were all dead, the Ghost of Sparta looked down and saw the body of the one that ruined her life: Ares, the fallen God of War. Calliope glared with hate at the body and moved to a nearby lever and pulled it, bringing the platform down to the lowest part as she got on it and got to the upper level before opening another chest and getting to a gate.

"Hurry, Calliope. Alecto is doing all she can, but she needs you." Gaia said to her friend with urgency.

Calliope quickly opened the gate before another sea stallion burst through Gaia's chest and tried to attack Lady Death but Calliope used her strength to hold its crab leg back before using her blades to stab it before it got her on Gaia again as another leg tore through the Titan's mouth.

When Alecto joined her lover again, they avoided the sea beast's attacks while using their blades to hurt the sea stallion enough to stun it, allowing Calliope to tear open its chest armor as Alecto cut off one of its legs before Calliope threw the leg into the Hippocampi's chest as deep as it could go, killing the creature almost instantly and making it fall off a weakened Gaia.

Alecto and Calliope knew that something must be done to help their new friend, so they went inside of the Mother of earth and got to the very heart of the Titan before Alecto flew them to the upper level and they killed a few undead soldiers before they went all the way up to Gaia's head and got back outside of her.

There, they saw a gigantic sea version of Poseidon on his chariot. "You dare to challenge me? A God of Olympus?"

Calliope called out in anger. "A true warrior does not hide, Poseidon!"

"Leave the sea and face us you coward!" Alecto called to the God of the Seas to face them in battle.

As some stones gathered to protect Poseidon's chest, he said to both of them. "You bitches have disrespected the Gods for the last time!" As Poseidon's sea limbs grabbed Gaia's head, he told them both. "I will leave nothing of the 2 of you in my wake! You or any of your Titan kin!"

Calliope then attacked the legs to get them off from Gaia while watching out for the electric current that Poseidon unleashed and dodged it by rolling around. Once Calliope and Alecto got the claws from Gaia, the female Titan then grabbed the God of the Seas and called out to Calliope and Alecto. "Alecto, get Calliope to my hand!"

Alecto nodded and held her lover as she flew them both to Gaia's hand before the Titan held Poseidon against the mountain. But that didn't mean that the Sea god was bound enough to not be able to attack. Poseidon used his trident to try to stab the 2 lovers but they easily dodged and attacked him with their blades until he was stunned enough for Calliope to shatter Poseidon's chest armor with godly strength put into her blades before Poseidon signalled his limbs to attack Gaia's head before she grabbed 1 of them but let Poseidon go in the process.

That was when the same process from before repeated, with Calliope and Alecto attacking the limbs holding Gaia's head until they were off her. When Gaia tried to punch Poseidon, 1 of his limbs stopped her hand but Calliope used the other limbs and her blades to swing to the 1 holding Gaia's hand, attacking it enough for it to get Gaia's hand free.

Once Calliope had freed her hand, Gaia delivered the final blow and Calliope jumped and grabbed the real Poseidon from the giant sea version of him and slammed him to the walls of Olympus. Calliope then watched as Poseidon's giant water version vanished before she then turned herself and marched up to the wounded God.

Poseidon scowled at Lady Death. "Zeus should have kept you and your Fury lover where you both belonged. No matter how many Gods fall before your blades, there will always be another to stand against the both of you."

"They will fall as well." Calliope said as she faced Poseidon.

The Sea God tried one last time to convince Lady Death to stop this. "Calliope, please reconsider. The death of Zeus means the death of us all!"

But nothing was going to change Calliope's mind, as she had enough of the lies of the Gods. "Then prepare for your death, Poseidon!"

Calliope then picked Poseidon up and together with Alecto, beat the Sea god by punching him, kicking him and banging his head against the hard wall. When Poseidon tried to crawl back to the edge to get back into the sea, Calliope grabbed him by the ankles, picked him and gouged out his eyes and snapped his neck before she let him go to fall into the sea as he turned into water... before a massive tsunami rose and the oceans began swallowing the land, killing many people in the process!

Calliope watched as it happened, but because she thought of nothing but revenge, she paid little attention to the destruction of the world.

Then Gaia appeared, with Alecto on her shoulder "Calliope!" Zhe called to her lover.

Gaia said proudly to the Ghost of Sparta. "Calliope! The death of Zeus is within our reach! Come my friend, climb to my hand!" Before the Titan reached out her hand and Calliope went on it, meeting her lover.

Meanwhile, in Athens

Epimetheus ran through the angry mobs, who all were destroying the temples of the Olympian Gods. He'd barely escaped the Temple of Aphrodite before a group of Calliope fanatics stormed in and started destroying everything and killed all the priests.

Inside the temple, Epimetheus had a vision from Aphrodite, warning him that a terrible disaster would await the whole world and yelled that he should look for higher ground. Epimetheus had hoped he'd finally heard Pandora's voice, but trusting Aphrodite's words, he did as she'd told him. He quickly climbed on his horse and raced in full gallop out of the city, racing upwards the highest mountain.

As he drove near small villages on the way up the mountain, he clearly wasn't the only one who searched for higher ground as hundreds of men, women and children ran up the mountain.

Suddenly, a man saw something at the horizon which made him look with wide eyes and screamed. "TIDAL WAVE! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!"

Epimetheus looked and was shocked to see a hundreds of meters high wave coming towards them and commanded his horse to drive even faster! "Run, boy! Run as fast as you can!"

Meanwhile

In the Athens harbor, Visilios was boarding his father's ship and commanded his personal soldiers to set sail immediately. Celix, Vasilios' best friend ran to meet him "Visilios! Wait for me!".

Visilios looked at Celix and his two girlfriends at the port, begging him to take them with him but he just smirked and called. "Sorry fellas! Try your luck with another boat! Hahaha!" Before he then suddenly heard a huge rumble in the city. He looked and looked with wide eyes as the tidal wave destroyed the city. Horrified, he called his men. "ROW! ROW YOU IDIOTS! ROW!'

Panic spreaded on the port, as everyone searched for shelter, even Celix and his Visilios' girlfriends! But it was too late. The wave engulfed the harbor, killing everyone instantly, even capsized Visilios' ship, taking it with the wave far inland!

Back with Epimetheus,

He and some hundred of others had made it just in time to the top of the mountain when the wave hit. All watched in horror as the oceans swallowed the lands. Epimetheus, while panting, prayed. 'Thank you... Lady Aphrodite... Please, I pray... that Pandora is alright... please, protect her and that... we'll truly see each other again.'

Back with Calliope and Alecto

Gaia then climbed to the top of Olympus, where Zeus stood on the big balcony with his arms crossed. Calliope and Alecto jumped off Gaia's hand and landed on the balcony. Both were now facing their true enemy, who was all along responsible for their suffering.

With her rising anger, Calliope said coldly. "What will you do, grandfather? You can no longer hide behind the skirts of Athena."

Angry, Zeus answered. "Athena is dead because of the rage that consumes you, Calliope. What more will you both destroy?"

Now, it was Alecto that fired back. "I may have conspired before with your son Ares to destroy Olympus for power. But now that we see that you are far more evil than even he was, I will destroy you and Olympus together with Calliope for the right reasons this time!"

Zeus shook his head, feeling disappointed in the former Fury Queen who had redeemed herself. "Once a traitor to Olympus, always a traitor to Olympus, Alecto."

"I was loyal to you." Calliope said. "But your failure to kill me and my family has shown me that you are the true weak one. And you will always fail to destroy me. The Hands of Death could not defeat me. The Sisters of Fate could not hold me. And your reign will not see the end of this day!" Before she then drew her blades. "We will set the world free and I will have my revenge!".

Zeus was now beyond furious. "PETULANT CHILD! I WILL TOLERATE YOUR INSOLENCE NO MORE!" Before he flew up in the air, gathering all the lightning from the sky, making a lighting spear in his hand.

Gaia saw her chance to grab Zeus, but was too late. The king of the Gods shot the Lighting spear to the two women and Gaia! The blast was so powerful that it nearly ripped off Gaia's arm and pushed them all the way from the balcony, falling down from Olympus!

Gaia tried to grab on the side of the mountain after a long fall and succeeded while Calliope grabbed on to Gaia with one hand while holding on to Alecto with the other. But she couldn't hold on for long and nearly slipped. Lady Death then called for help. "Gaia! I can hold on no longer!".

Gaia had heard her cry for help and tried to reach her friends, but nearly slipped! Gaia had no choice but to hold on so she wouldn't fall. Calliope and Alecto slipped, but the Ghost of Sparta used the Blade of Olympus to hold on to Gaia. But even the Blade couldn't hold them for long.

"Gaia, please help us!" Alecto cried out for help to the Titan.

Gaia wanted to help her new friends, but if she did, they would all fall to their deaths. "I... I can't! If I try to help you, we will all fall." Even the Titan had difficulty to hang on and slowly slipped.

Calliope held on the blade with the last of her strength. "Gaia! Please!"

Gaia looked down and then up. She didn't know what to do. Then as her broken arm nearly gave up, she had no other choice but to save herself, she started to reach out with her other arm to climb back on. "I'm sorry... both of you. I'm so, so sorry!"

From the rumble of Gaia climbing up, the Blade loosed... and Calliope and Alecto fell down to their deaths. "GAIAAAAAAAAAA!"

As the women fell down from the mountain, they could hear Gaia scream in shock "CALLIOPE! ALECTO! NOOOOOOO!"

As they fell down deeper and deeper into the depths of the Underworld, Calliope saw her life flashing before her eyes, knowing that this was the end for her.

'I have lived as a warrior. I have loved as a mortal. I was granted the gift to be a mother. I have died as a God. Having suffered the ultimate sacrifice. I have been denied release. I... I will defeat Olympus. I will free the world from Zeus' reign. I will have my revenge.'

When Calliope and Alecto fell into the river Styx, Alecto was the first to emerge before she looked around in panic, not seeing the love of her life. "Calliope! Calliope!"

Just then Calliope emerged, gasping for air as Alecto called to her. "Calliope, come on!"

They swam through the river, seeing the souls of the dead swim close to them. They wouldn't harm Alecto, for she was a Fury, neither living nor dead. But while Calliope was immortal, Alecto knew they would harm her so they had to get out of this river as quickly as possible so they wouldn't weaken her lover.

Just then, the damned attacked Calliope, trying to take her life energy and while they couldn't kill her, they could still weaken her. She tried to fight them off as Alecto helped her. "Get off her!" She screamed as she punched a damned soul away.

When they were gone, she took Calliope's arm to help her swim.

Then the damned attacked again, taking all the magic energy from Calliope. She and Alecto tried to fight them off but Calliope could not swim anymore, for she felt weak after the damned attacked her.

So Alecto helped her lover. "Ugh... I feel so weak."

"Keep swimming, Calliope!"

As they were near to get out of the river, Calliope was attacked again! Being too weak to fight back, she was dragged down into the water. "NO!" Alecto yelled as she dived to help her lover.

Calliope nearly drowned, but was saved in time by Alecto, so she had to carry Calliope out of the water.

Once they made it out of the River of Souls, the Fury Queen dragged Calliope out and held her over her shoulder. Calliope coughed out some water while she panted for air before they walked slowly as The Ghost of Sparta was too weak, nearly losing all her powers.

As they stopped for a moment to rest. Alecto carefully put Calliope down and sat next to her. Both looked around, seeing that they were in the Realm of Hades.

Some minutes passed by as Calliope tried to get up. She felt hopeless, but that soon turned into anger. "We... are not finished, Zeus. The gates of Hades have never held us!"

Alecto stroked her back, trying to calm her lover, if they would ever have a chance to get out of the Underworld.

Suddenly, they were startled as they heard a very familiar voice behind them "Death cannot hold those with purpose, Calliope."

Calliope and Alecto both turned to see who it was, but they didn't believe who it was: the spirit of Athena. Calliope was nonplussed at this. "Athena?"

"I have missed you, my friends." Athena said with a smile.

"I... I don't understand." Calliope tried to say, not knowing how Athena was still alive or something.

Athena interrupted her, explaining everything. "My sacrifice to save Zeus has brought me to a higher existence."

Alecto didn't trust the whole thing. "You still appear to be an Olympian."

"Appearances can be deceiving, Alecto."

"So can the children of Olympus!" Calliope said with anger. For she hadn't forgotten that she betrayed them just to save her father's ass.

Athena shrugged. "Perhaps, but remember, my death came by your blade."

"My blade... was meant for Zeus. What do you want?" Calliope demanded.

"As we speak, the Battle for Olympus rages on and mankind suffers." Athena told them how the battle between the Titans and Gods has caused so much suffering to all of mankind.

Calliope sighed as she turned her back, not looking at Athena. "We know of that. But it's the only way to save them from the reign of Zeus."

Alecto agreed with her lover by nodding before Athena then stated. "Zeus will not fall as easily as Ares. To destroy the King of the Gods, you both must seek the source of his strength. The Flame of Olympus."

Calliope folded her arms, being confused as why Athena suddenly wanted to help them to kill Zeus. "Hang on, you once sacrificed yourself to save Zeus and now you seek to destroy him?"

Alecto nodded and asked Athena. "What has brought about this change?"

Then Athena's arms went through Calliope and Alecto, taking their broken weapons. "I see truths where I did not before." Before she then seemed to repair the weapons from both lovers. "Perhaps these will earn back your trust."

Their blades and swords began to take a whole different form. Athena gave the Blades back to Calliope, what were once the Blades of Athena, were now something even more powerful. "These are the Blades of Exile." She explained before she then gave back the swords back to Alecto, saying. "These are the Swords of Redemption. They will help guide you on your journey to the Flame."

Both women were thankful for the new weapons. "Thank you, Athena." Calliope said kindly to their old friend, now in spirit form.

Athena then departed, giving them her last advice. "Remember, as long as Zeus reigns, there is no hope for mankind. Destroy the Flame, Calliope and Alecto, and the very foundations of Olympus will crumble."
