Hikari's Hope

"Catch her!"

"Don't let her escape!" Hikari quickly jumped off a ledge swiftly getting away from Academia soldiers as she got out a card. "Spell activate! Deadly Petal!" She yelled, activating her spell.

A storm of flower petals was unleashed at the soldiers causing them to scream and be launched away. Hikari panted clutching her bag tightly as she quickly ran in an abandoned building. Once she made sure it was empty she leaned on the wall and slid down to sit on the ground with a sigh. "I got away with the supplies but those soldiers are relentless." She muttered. She looked out the broken window at the destroyed city with a sad frown remembering how it used to be a bright city. She suddenly gasped and quickly shook her head. No, no! Don't think like that I have to stay afloat and positive. She thought, reaching in her pocket to get out her Wayfinder stroking the diamond center. No matter what happens I have to hope for the end of this war soon. It's all I can do for everyone.

She gave a nod putting away her Wayfinder once again before standing. "Ok I better go straight for the hideout now the others must be worried." She began. Just as she said this she looked out the window again and gasped to see someone on the ground outside.

"Are they hurt?! I should go check on them." She gasped, quickly rushing out. But she then stopped herself at the entrance.

But wait he could be from Academia and trying to trick me. She thought, looking again. If I'm not careful he could card me.

Hikari shuddered remembering how all the other citizens and her friends had been carded by Academia before glancing at her bracelet her father gave her at birth before she made up her mind. "No matter who they're from I can't leave behind anybody." She nodded. She quickly went to the person crowing down and carefully turning them over seeing he was unconscious she laid her ear to his chest hearing his heartbeat.

"Thank goodness he's breathing, maybe I can carry him inside." She muttered. She sat him up and slung his arm over her shoulders hoisting him up and carried him inside the building and carefully set him down as she looked him over. He doesn't look injured; he might've passed out from exhaustion. She thought. Then she noticed his duel disk and swallowed it.

An Academia duel disk… She thought, taking a deep breath. I should make sure his head is fine.

She carefully removed his hood and grew wide eyed upon the gray haired male in front of her. Wait, I think I know this guy… Isn't he the commander? She thought unsure, before she hummed. Huh he doesn't look that older than me.

She reached out carefully to check his head when suddenly blue eyes snapped open and a hand gripped her wrist making her yelp. "What do you think you're doing?" He demanded.

"Checking to see if you're hurt obviously!" She snapped out of habit. "I mean any decent person would when they see a guy passed out on the ground!"

He flinched, surprised by her answer and scowled, as he let her go, making her huff. "Thank you now, will you hold still so I can make sure your head isn't bruised?" She asked.

"Something tells me you won't give me a choice even if I refuse." He frowned.

"Glad you understand." She said simply. With a careful touch Hikari touched his head, relieved to not feel any bumps.

"Well your head is fine so no concussions to worry about so you no doubt passed out from exhaustion. Am I right?" She said.

"Y-You're not wrong." He frowned, looking away.

"I thought so." She sighed, reaching in her bag to get out a bottle of water and fruit. "Here, take this and just rest. You shouldn't be pushing yourself like this. Or you'll wind up like that again." He looked at her stunned looking at the water in his hand before looking at her.

"Why? Why are you doing this? Surely you know where I'm from." He told her.

"So what?" She frowned. "Even if you're from Academia or whatever that doesn't mean I'm just gonna leave you out there I like to think I'm a decent human being thank you very much."

"But don't you have a grudge against us for all this?" He scowled. She looked at him before sighing standing and slinging her bag on her shoulder again.

"What would be the point if I did? Holding grudges won't make anyone happy especially in this war." She told him. "You see people think I'm naive and they may be right but I have hope that this war will end soon and that someday Xyz and Fusion can get along without hurting one another."

He looked at her shocked as she looked at him with a smile. "And I think we can reach an understanding. I'm sure there are people in Academia who feel the same. After all, you still haven't card me yet."

He grew wide-eyed realizing she was right before he could move and she ran out. "See you later Mr. Commander!" She smiled, before summoning one of her monsters and went off leaving behind a stunned Edo Phoenix.

Aurasoul: And with that, that concludes our little prologue story! Now I dont have a definite date on when I will be posting my Arc V story but I will try not to take too long with it. So until next time everyone please read and review!
