My Dearest Rose
Grey silver pools danced and shined against the morning sun to the girl. She was transfixed in her spot, unable to speak at all. Her entire being was made for this moment, she thought. It had been so long since they last met.
Now at the crux of the moment said girl was petrified.
Say something!
Say anything at all!
A whisper of words barely left grazing past her lips as they did. A quiet whisper of confirmation.
"...Are you Ruby Rose?"
...
Brown pools danced against the girl. The darkness of her eyes were pulling almost inviting her into a world she knew she wouldn't ever come back from. Where had she seen this girl before?
Ruby knew this was no ordinary girl in front of her that much was obvious. Her mind was stuck, wandering as her eyes took in all of the girl in front of her. She trying her best not to focus to much and get sidetracked.
She was asked a question, one that needed an answer.
"..."
*bzzt*
"All students, please report to the training hall for debrief."
"I repeat all students please report to training hall for debrief for initiation"
The girl in front of Ruby sighed as her head hanged before her, her ears coming close to Ruby's nose. Just a bit closer and she could have sneezed and ruined whatever aura of coolness she had about her right now.
"I'm Velvet-..."
Velvet looked up, and saw nothing but the whispers of a presence. The pleated grass with the slowly falling rose petals were a tell tale sign if the fleeing girl. What a shame, Velvet thought.
Oh well. she'll have to find her Grim Reaper sometime later...
-...-
Ruby slithered through the crowds, barely anybody noticed her as well and soon reached where Nora and Ren were. Pyrrha was there as well. She was talking to some random blonde haired boy. A question for later in Ruby's mind.
For right now the task at hand was flashing in front of her eyes.
Students shall report in random groups of 8 to the front of the bluff.
Each group shall be sent off into the forest.
The first person you encounter shall be your partner for the next four years.
Your goal: Steal a relic from the fortress inside.
Guards will be shoot to kill.
Return and Survive.
That is all.
A challenge, thought Ruby. Something for our little killer to look forward to.
The list began to appear on the screen after a couple more seconds as more students read what was on the board. Perhaps that girl will be there as well, Ruby thought as she scanned for the names of her friends and herself.
As she looked at the board, she felt the weight of a body as she sidestepped as someone tripped in front of her. She caught the stranger by her back, staring into her eyes. Silver met with yellow. A silent exchange meant between the two as another soon came closer to join.
"You! Animal!"
Ruby knew that voice all to well already. Her gripped tightened a tad on the stranger in her arms as she helped her to her feet as the tell tale sound of heels clanking grew closer and closer.
Rosie Monroe in all her ego filled demeanor approached the duo as the crowd once again gathered having formed once again to see what trouble the steel baroness would put herself into this time. In the midst of the crowd Ruby could have sworn she saw a pair of now somewhat familiar bunny ears.
"You beast! How dare you slander the Schnee family worker conditions towards the Fanuas with such false claims!""
Ruby scanned the girl she as referring too. A bow right on top of her head. She clothed in what appeared to be bandages that peaked out from her half opened form fitting dress shirt. Her pants a dark black, perhaps of leather, with pockets in the front and back.
Yet, no tell tale sign of any faunas traits. Ruby was ready either way to tear the girl a new one from her lack of manner and crass attitude when the girl in front of her stopped her with a slight hand.
"False claims? Shall we ask the thousands of Faunas your family 'employs' and ask them how many die each time the mines collapse from faulty security? Or should I mention the lack of payment the living workers get?"
"Or perhaps I should mention the lack of love your family has for each other and use you as an example?"
A slight wink from the girl threw Monroe into a gasping fit. The girl could not for the love of herself find any words to counteract anything that was said. To Ruby it looked like she was almost about to cry. She gave a slight chuckle as she gave the girl next to her a nod as Rosie looked at the crowd around her now angrily.
She was about to reach for the girl's neck when a heavy hand stopped her in her tracks. She looked up and once again met herself with silver covered eyes. At least this time no blood lust was seeping out.
She tried to regain her lost composure as she pulled her hand away with a 'hmpf' as she stormed off looking for anybody to complain to. Ruby just sighed as she dropped the outwardly scary exterior and she turned to the black hair girl again.
Well, she was supposed to turn to her.
Except what greeted her was the large berth the students gave the scene as students began to return to normal, with Ruby still being shunned mostly by the kids.
Roses must never show emotions.
She instead focused back onto the board as she finally saw her group. Group 9,
Looks like the year was going to be...interesting in the least.
GROUP 9

Lie Ren
Pyrrha Nikos
Jaune Arc

"Did you see that Red~? Our groups a-maz-zing!"
Ruby looked to her side seeing Nora jumping around as usual with Ren not far behind.
"And look at that!" Nora said as she pointed the board and got close to Ruby's ear, "We have a Scarlantia too..."
