Rating: K+

Genre: Angst/Family

Characters: Uther, Gaius, Arthur

Time Frame: Probably a few months after Arthur's birth

Summary: Gaius stumbles upon a prophecy, which he then shares to his king.

Let's Go On An Adventure

Uther shut his eyes and looked away from Gaius. "You're sure?"

The aging physician regarded him with sorrow in his eyes. "The seers have foretold it. I understand... That you don't trust magic..."

"I hate it!" Uther snapped, the vessels in his forehead almost popping.

Gaius nodded, almost sympathetically. He understood prophecies better than Uther would. "But this is what may come to pass."

Uther shook his head, determination renewed. "I won't allow it. If I must hunt every last Druid to keep them from killing my son, I will."

As a father, that was his duty.

Sometimes I feel like Uther's love for Arthur is his sole redeeming quality. I mean, he gave his life to protect Arthur, and he only shows emotion when it comes to his children. Of course he would eradicate whatever threat there is to Arthur's life!
