Summary: When Uther realizes that Merlin has magic, nothing will stop him at asking what the boy wants, not even his son.
Let's Go On An Adventure
The king loomed over the serving boy menacingly, eyeing the growing bruise on the boy's cheek with satisfaction. Far away, he knew that his son would be searching the countryside blindly for his misplaced servant, giving him all of the time in the world.
"Now, let me ask you again," he said with a steely voice, grabbing the boy's chin to make him face him. "What would a sorcerer like you want with my son?"
"He'll be a great king someday," the boy grunted. "A better king than you."
Uther slapped him across the face again. "Guards!"
Every once in a while, there is a non-happy ending, and I don't have any sort of continuation for this planned (until I go back and look at all of my unwritten prompts and find one that could work). No names for either Arthur or Merlin to displace them from the situation!
Next: Someone acts like Sherlock to figure out Merlin.
