Summary: Hours have passed since Ygraine's death, and Uther knows what he must do to save the kingdom.
Let's Go On An Adventure
The hours crept by, and her body grew colder. Nonetheless, Uther never left her side. Although in his arms was a golden bundle of newborn life, he only had eyes for her, his beloved Ygraine. All he saw was death, and death had come for her far too soon.
A life for a life. In his guilt and his grief, Uther knew somewhere deep down that only he was to blame for this. Yet, it wasn't entirely his fault. It was magic that took his queen. If left unchecked, it could destroy the kingdom.
There was only one solution.
And to explain Uther's line of thinking in this, Uther has decided that a life for a life is too dangerous. If it took Ygraine, it could take other people if people were to use this power irresponsibly. From there, the pyres are lit, and Gondor calls for aid.
