Hey guys, it's been awhile and I know this post probably got a lot of your hopes up, but I am not continuing this story any longer. Was I ever planning to come back after all the hiatuses I had in the past? This last one being over a year long? Not fully, but I had tried to write the next chapter many times over that period, believe me. I'm going to go into full detail on what exactly happened for those of you curious, but I at least think I owe the people who have read this a "finale" of sorts where I explain what exactly happens at the end of this story. Once you see how complicated it becomes you'll understand why I gave up hope lol.
So basically, the way this story ends from where I left off is that we get into a mission where they go back into the Seattle Lab. Mike, El and Hopper are one team. They're goal is to get Hopper upside down. Alice, Dustin, Conner, Will, and Lucas go to the control room to build the bomb, and Max, Jonathan and Joyce are going to steal cars to watch the perimeter(Not very important). Dustins group gets into the lab but the agents got a tip off, and they are met by Doctor Renyolds, who is Alice and Connors mother, who is a main assistant in the lab as well. Mike, El, and Hopper get surrounded when they get to the portal level of the lab, and the Russian leader as well as Brenner is there to meet them. After that, Connor and Alice betray their mother in order to give Dustin and the others enough time to build the bomb. Dustin ends up finding a way to blow the entire lab up, and when he does her radios mike to tell him the idea. Hopper goes on a big monologue about how messed up what there doing is, but they tell him theyll stop at nothing to link the upside down with the real world. In the control room, Dustin ends up detonating an explosive due to the Russian soldiers coming in and swarming them again. Dustin and the others are rendered unconscious, Lucas is the only one that's visibly alive. Mike takes cover as El starts displaying her power in front of the soldier's, taking most of them down easily. Explosions go off around them as El's power gets out of control. She instead focuses her attention on closing the gate, but warns it needs to be closed on both sides. Whatever the Russians did to link the portal worked, and you could now see both sides of Russia and Seattle through the portal. Hopper and Mike end up going to the other side as you need two people to shut it down. El is almost done closing one side, but one soldier remains and continues to fire at her. She is saved by none other than Lucas using his slingshot, and nails the soldier right in the head rendering him unconscious. On the other side Mike and Hopper are taken on by the Russian guy, who took a surprise shot and nailed Mike in the wrist. Hopper and him battle, and Hopper ends up winning. He promises Mike that he can shut the portal, but he will not survive. He makes him promise to take care of El, and throws Mike into the portal, leaving him alone. Hopper destroys the lab at the same time El closes the portal, and the violence ends. Max, Joyce and Jonathan find Brenner trying to run away, and capture him. Nancy and Robin finally arrive with help from the government, and they manage to save the kids involved in the explosion
Then we get a 6 month time skip, and news broke out about what had happened. As requested, Mike and the others get their identity hidden but also get huge payoffs from the government to keep quiet. Alice and Conners mom died in the original explosion, so with the help of the government they get moved to Hawkins and Joyce is now taking care of them as well, along with a huge payoff check from the government for them as well. Since the upside down connection was completely eradicated, El loses her powers completely, but for the first time in her life she can finally think clearly, and is no longer afraid. Mike's parents still do not accept him after what he had done, but he does not really care. He plans on leaving Hawkins along with El when he graduates from highschool. I also was going to throw in an emotional scene with Steve's father calling him a failure at his grave, and Mike stood up to him and said he was wrong. I might even make it a one-shot at one point but obviously I'm not going to make any promises. If I forgot anything, you guys can pm me and ask questions. But otherwise I won't be adding on anymore.
Now if you made it this far I'll give you a little update as to why I never finished this story, or any other stories on this page. It really comes down to one thing, and that's inspiration. Stranger Things has not released anything in 3 years and it really killed the community. There's a reason why most fanfic writers aren't writing anything right now for Stranger Things, and it's because they have released nothing to really hype anyone up. Lately they have, but I pretty much burned the bridge for myself awhile back. If I was going to come back, I wanted it to be consistent, and that just won't happen until I finish college. I started to enjoy other shows, I got really into anime and I enjoy that as well. But Stranger Things will always be one of my favorite shows, and it pains me it got this kind of treatment. Some of you who have followed me as an author might have noticed I wrote a Black Clover fanfic recently, or at least started one. That was actually for this random class I had called "Cultural media" Where we had to watch 15 episodes of black clover and write some sort of fanfic based on it. It was pretty dumb honeslty, but I ended up finishing Black Clover anyways so I might actually end up finishing that fanfic, because the show ended up becoming one of my favorites. So definitely check that out if you've seen that show, or have any interest in giving it a try. As for my other fanfics, they could get finished if i really like this new season, but again no promises. Anyways thanks for the support, the only reason I lasted this long was because of all the support I got.
