I Can't Go to a Hero School with my Little Sister!

Okay, uh, most of the characters have have powers and Kyousuke has powers and, uh, he goes to a hero school with his sister Kirino and he saves the world and the universe and stuff, doesn't get anymore complicated then that, I swear.

14. Chapter 14

Ky: "I'm home."

Ki: "Hey welcome home, how was the-"

It was then that Kirino noticed what was in Kyousuke's arms, a fluffy, adorable, white with grey and black patterns, Puffball Spider (jumping spider mutation about the size of a housecat).

Ki: "Oh my god where did you get it?!"

Ky: "Oh this guy? Long story, Hitaro and Ayami dragged me along to help the police deal with some smugglers and after everything was resolved I stumbled across this guy while rummaging through the contraband for anything dangerous. Turns out Hitaro was an animal lover and he begged me to watch after this thing until he could find out if it has an owner."

Ki: "Oooh~ You're so cute and fuzzy~ But you do know pets aren't allowed in the dorms."

Ky: "Yeah I told him that but he was insistent, said he'd talk to the principal and he'd take all the blame if I get caught."

Ki: "So it's going to stay with us until then?!"

Ky: "Yep, so enjoy it while you can."

Ki: "Yay! From now on I'll call you Mochi because you're so fluffy and squishy and super duper sweet~"

Mo: I-i-i-i-i~

Kyousuke was mildly shocked at Kirino's out of character behavior, he hated to admit but at the moment Kirino was almost cuter than Mochi, he almost had the urge to hug her.

Ky: "…"

Ki: "Hmhm~ Hm? The heck are you looking at?"

Ky: "N-nothing, so you don't mind watching him for the time being?"

Ki: "Sure."

Ky: "Good cause I have no idea how take care of this thing though Hitaro gave me this."

Kyousuke held out a large syringe and a wad of dense red putty.

Ki: "Oh that's the feeding putty, just put some Puffball food in a blender, inject it into the putty and Mochi will just suck it out like he would with a live animal but don't worry about it, I'll take care of that."

Ky: "If you say so."

So Kirino began to snuggle and play with Mochi as Kyousuke sat down to watch TV though he kept looking back at Kirino fawning over Mochi as he playfully hopped around.

"The strange storm that struck Sydney has mysteriously disappeared along with the strange object that sat at its center, the US government's top specialists are currently attempting to track it down to see if it will strike again, further details to be shared soon."

{Ririririring}

Ky: "Hello?"

Ko: |Heyo Kyousuke, you up to hang out?|

Ky: "Hmm, yeah sure, I've got time, though if it involves money then I can only spectate."

Ko: |It's fine man, I've got your back.|

Ky: "Alright I'll meet you at the usual spot."

Ko: |Okay, see ya.|

Kyousuke then got up and got changed before heading out.

Ki: "Hm? Going somewhere? Isn't it kind of late?"

Ky: "Yeah but it's Friday so might as well enjoy the night, plus I'll have to stay here to watch Mochi since we can't take him home due to dad's allergies."

Ki: "Actually I'm going to stay here for the weekend, mom and dad are going to hot spring."

Ky: "Oh, well then if you get hungry get whatever you want at the store."

Ki: "Hmmm, fine."

Kyousuke didn't notice Kirino pouting as he left so he rushed onward to the meeting spot before the sunset.

Ko: "Yo Kyou, took you long enough."

Ky: "Hey Kouhei, so what do you have plan-"

It was then that Kyousuke noticed someone else with him, a tall, wiry guy with brown buzzcut hair.

"Well hey there Kousaka."

Ky: "Kouhei who's this?"

Ko: "…I'm sorry about this Kyousuke."

Ry: "Name's Ryuu, one of the top ten at THA."

Ky: "What's going on?"

Ry: "Is it really that hard to figure out? Your friend owed me a favor so I asked him to bait you out here by yourself."

Ky: "You guys just aren't going to quit. What about your promise to never touch anyone close to me?"

Ry: "You didn't specify that anyone besides Hoshi had to keep that promise."

Ky: "…So what are your terms?"

Ry: "Well for one, unless you want me to get your friend's dad fired, you are not to contact anyone until I say so, two, you are the one that'll ask to challenge me so we can duke it out at my place and you have to do it immediately."

Ky: "Right now? But it's already past CHA's daily deadline for matches."

Ry: "Yes but at THA we can hold matches at any time outside of class hours."

Ky: "I see but why did you want me by myself?"

Ry: "One third of victory is motivation, the other is confidence and finally is strength, by blocking your cheerleader rack I'm cutting your chances at victory by sixty percent, plus I wouldn't want that sister of yours getting involved."

Ky: "I don't know how any of that math adds up but if accepting your terms means you leave Kouhei alone then I accept."

Ko: "Kyou~"

Ry: "Alright then, follow me."

Ko: "…Hey Kyousuke listen-"

Ky: "It's fine Kouhei."

Ko: "Really?"

Ky: "Yeah, I'm sure you only did this because you had to, so don't worry, we're cool."

Ko: "Okay but I still think you deserve to know though the story is pretty basic, his dad works at the same company as my dad but at a higher position and he still owes him for getting my dad the job and this is how we're paying him back."

Ky: "Seems a little trivial."

Ko: "Yeah but it's not like there's much else we could give him; my dad's job is well paying but his dad earns quadruple that."

Ky: "I see, well then it's a good thing it's getting payed back through me."

Ko: "Really?"

Ky: "Yeah, you and your family have done a lot for me, I owe more than you know."

Ko: "Dude you are officially the coolest person I know."

Ky: "I wasn't before?"

Ko: "Of course not dude but this definitely puts you at the top in my book."

Ky: "Heh, thanks."

After catching a train and a little more walking they finally reached the THA campus, which was at the edge of Tokyo proper and a good distance away from the location of the incident from a few weeks ago and the center was occupied by a large skyscraper that had cool futuristic design to it.

Ry: "Welcome to THA, by the next hour this'll be your new home and you better enjoy the view while you can Akagi, this'll be the only chance you ever get to see this place in person."

Kyousuke didn't doubt his confidence but he wasn't scared, he had a fool proof plan. After passing through the main gate they hopped into a golf cart and Ryuu drove them to the arena which while it was campus property it was also used my local pro heroes.

Ry: "Alright go through those doors, the locker room should be the second to last one on your left, we already have a suit waiting for you in there."

Ky: "Suit?"

Ry: "Yeah, unlike you Chiba chumps, we use full body armored suits for battles built with the same barrier tech as those crappy headbands, now get moving, I'll have the papers ready to sign when you reach the field."

So Kouhei and Kyousuke entered the building, after entering the locker room and grabbing the duffle bag Kyousuke proceeded to change.

Ko: "You feeling okay?"

Ky: "Hell no! That guy is in the top ten, even Hoshi wasn't top ten and I barely did shit to her."

Ko: "Man, now I'm really feeling bad about this."

Ky: "I already told you Kouhei, it's no issue, even if I do end up losing there's no way I'll leave my best friend hanging."

Ko: "Dude I don't deserve a friend like you."

Ky: "Alright don't start blubbering, try to have some dignity."

After finally stretching the suit over himself and getting the visor helmet in place Kyousuke walked out into the arena which was like a smaller version of a professional soccer stadium but the field was only dirt.

Ry: "Hey over here!"

Over at the edge of the field stood Ryuu, who wasn't wearing a suit, with a moderator holding a clipboard with the duel approval papers that was mostly filled out aside from Kyousuke's signature.

Ky: "Haah, well here we go."

So Kyousuke signed the paper and the moderator stowed it a way, now ready to oversee the duel.

Ry: "Hm you know we could just skip all this, just say we fought and that you lost, make this a whole lot easier on the both of us."

Ky: "Hehehe…what in the hell makes you think I'd ever make anything easy for an asshole like you? Given how you THA degenerates do things I can't help but think of you all as insulting excuses for hero students, what kind of hero threatens innocent people to get what they want?"

Ry: "Hmph, whatever I didn't join this school to be a hero anyway, heroes these days are just a bunch of clowns in uniform used as cannon fodder by our government, no better than the military drones sent to die in pointless wars everyday."

Ko: "Jeez this guy is dark."

Ky: "Then why are you here?"

Ry: "None of your business, now how about you stop mouthing off so we can get this started."

Ky: "…"

Kyousuke and Ryuu took their positions in the large battlefield.

Ry: "I know what you're thinking "Why isn't Ryuu wearing an HP suit?" well unfortunately I have to wear this expandable belt instead, you'll see why soon enough."

Ky: "…"

Though he did his best not to show it, Kyousuke was on the verge of pissing his pants and vomiting in his helmet but fortunately his anger kept him together. After the shield projectors had the walls set up the moderator finally called the beginning of the match.

"And begin!"

Immediately Ryuu activated his power causing obsidian armor plating to rapidly grow from his skin and a blade-like tail to extend from his backside, when it was finally complete he looked like a human sized Death Lord but his head looked like he was wearing a helmet with a triangular obsidian mask a jack-o-lantern mouth that he could open with his own mouth. The moment his transformation was complete Ryuu lunged at Kyousuke too fast for him to react and he was sent slamming up against the wall behind him, before he could recover Ryuu then grabbed Kyousuke by the neck and pinned him to the ground before opening his mouth to let out a powerful precharged Death Lord beam but the second before he let it out Kyousuke removed his visor and did something unexpected.

Ky: "Ptew."

Ry: "AGH!"

Kyousuke had spit into Ryuu's mouth and he immediately reeled back in disgust allowing Kyousuke to get back on his feet and quickly let out a half-charged Thermal Impact.

Ky: "Take this!"

{VVVVPPWWWWW!}

He got a direct hit though it only took out a quarter of his health and in the middle of Kyousuke's confusion Ryuu got back up and belted Kyousuke in the face as hard as he could knocking him back at least thirty feet.

Ky: Holy shit, that punch was strong, almost as strong as Kirino's.

Ry: "PTEW! Ugh! You asshole, now you're really going to get it!"

Before Ryuu could make his next move Kyousuke fired and already charged Thermal Rifle x5 and shot at the gap in his armor in his knee but he missed and hit his upper shin though it hit hard enough to painfully bend his leg backwards.

{FwshBANG!}

Ry: "AAAGH!"

But instead of falling to the ground Ryuu gritted his teeth, shot forward and punched Kyousuke in the stomach, the armor absorbed most of the force but it was still enough to make him barf up a little. Ryuu then pinned Kyousuke again this time covering Kyousuke's mouth with his hand and as Kyousuke attempted to burn him off Ryuu fired a successful beam right into Kyousuke's face. Before the heat became too much Ryuu jumped off and Kyousuke got up in a daze blinded and deafened by the blast, seeing the opening Ryuu then began a series of powerful kicks and punches to all parts of Kyousuke's body especially the head, preventing him from properly focusing his powers.

Ry: "Hahaha so much for the CHA number one?"

With the next kick Kyousuke grabbed him by the ankle mid-air, which happened to be the same leg he shot earlier, and quickly positioned his arms so he could set off a thermal blast and use the recoil to twist it around painfully.

{BANG!}

Ry: "AUGH!"

Kyousuke then followed through with a point-blank Thermal Rifle x7 but Ryuu acted quick and pushed it out of the way just before it fired.

{FwshBANG!}

Ryuu then proceeded to grab Kyousuke by the back of the head and kneed him in the face a few times before finishing off with another short Death Lord beam to the face then a high-powered chop to the top of his head before giving a final round house kick right on his temple.

Ko: "Kyousuke!"

Kyousuke didn't get back up and the moderator began the countdown.

"3…2…1! Winner Ryuu Kimara!"

Ry: "Oh yeah! Can't beat The Dragon, by the way my nickname around here is The Dragon, oh yeah you can't hear me cause you got knocked the fuck out! Hahaha!"

"Come on Ryuu, I think that's enough boasting, leave him with at least some dignity."

Ry: "Haaah yeah, I'm gonna go find some tail and grab some Ramen, oh Kouhei you guys can keep the suit, that's going to be his assigned suit for the rest of his time here, you take care of the rest moderator."

"Very well."

So the match was complete, the moderator handed Kouhei the proper paperwork to give to Kyousuke to confirm his transfer and after dragging Kyousuke's unconscious body off campus and to the nearest McRonalds he contacted Kirino with Kyousuke's phone.

Ky: "Ugh, what happened? Did I win?"

Ko: "Hey he's awake!"

Ki: "Oh, good~"

{WHACK! SHATTER!}

Several minutes later

Ky: "Augh, son of bitch, my head."

Ki: "Have a good nap, idiot?"

Kyousuke sat up in the booth and got his bearings, they were in a McRonald's instead of the THA arena and Kirino, who was eating some fries, sat opposite to him. Kyousuke also noticed half of a broken glass bottle next to Kirino that he suspected was the cause of his headache so he knew he had to tread carefully or she'd use the rest of it.

Ky: "Where's Kouhei?"

Ki: "I sent him home, I wanted to talk to you in private."

Ky: "…S…So…looks like I'm transferring to THA."

{SMASH!}

Ky: "AUGH! FUCKING HELL! WHY DOES THAT HURT SO MUCH!?"

Ki: "WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING!?"

Ky: "I was helping Kouhei out!"

Ki: "I heard, I know you couldn't just leave him twisting in the wind but his dad could've found another job, you can't just leave like this, what do you think is going to happen at CHA without you?"

Ky: "I know but Kouhei has done a lot for me, I owed it to him, besides I've been talking with Aoi and he said if this ever happened he swore to maintain the current status quo and keep Daiki from wreaking havoc again so it'll be fine."

Ki: "…Okay…but what about…"

Ky: "…I know I said I'd start trying to be a better brother to you and spend more time with you but I've thought of that."

Kyousuke then presented Kirino the transfer papers along with his dual contract.

Ki: "Hm? There's two sets of transfer papers."

Kirino then looked at the contract and saw the conditions of the deal.

Ki: "Should Kyousuke lose the match he must transfer to Tokyo Hero Academy but he is allowed to bring an optional plus one to act as his partner and will be allowed to keep any pet he chooses to keep in his dorm."

Ky: "So if you want you and Mochi can come with me until I can find a way to transfer back."

Ki: "I see."

Ky: "Though since we're here alone I'm going to be honest with you, I actually lost on purpose."

Ki: "What!?"

Ky: "I mean, I definitely did get my ass handed to me but I did plan on losing and that's because I'm doing an independent investigation for Aoi."

Ki: "Really? Aoi?"

Ky: "Well yeah, did you really expect me to orchestrate something like this on my own?"

Ki: "Hm, yeah you're right but what are you investigating?"

Ky: "Akihiko, I had a bad feeling about him despite his happy go lucky attitude and so did Aoi, he believes Akihiko is undercutting the other students."

Ki: "Undercutting?"

Ky: "Yeah, Aoi has been digging around and he thinks that Akihiko has been encouraging the top rank students of other prefectures to transfer to Tokyo then when they do he uses his influence over the school to completely knock them down, bullying from the other students and staff alike and the principal does his best to keep it all covered up, their grades tank and they become discouraged to the point their powers become affected and they can't stay in the upper ranks, he's even heard that some drop so far that they completely abandon their aspirations for becoming heroes and transfer to normal schools."

Ki: "That all sounds terrible, are you sure he's actually doing all that?"

Ky: "No but Aoi says he's seen enough to have no doubts, we just need some hard evidence that he can he can show to some officials but I have a plan of my own."

Ki: "What's that?"

Ky: "Even if I don't find the evidence, I'm still going to break Akihiko myself."

Ki: "Whoa, where did that come from? It's not like you to go after someone like this, especially if you know they can kick your ass."

Ky: "That asshole crossed the line when he messed with my hot tub but threating my best friend into betraying me…haaaheheheh every man has their breaking point little sis, I just think it's only right to return the favor."

Ki: "Okay calm down before I have to put you in a straight jacket."

Ky: "Hey when you mess with my friends and my hot tub you get crazy Kyousuke."

Ki: "Whatever "crazy Kyousuke", well if you're doing this guess I'll join, you wouldn't last very long without me."

Ky: "What the heck makes you say that?"

Ki: "Come on you said you loooved me~ and you can't live without me~"

Ky: "Okay I didn't say that last part…but honestly I could use the emotional support because right now I'm terrified at the idea of doing this on my own."

Ki: "Well aren't you sweet, not a lot of guys would admit to that they need their little sister for anything."

Ky: "Yeah yeah, try not to get too full of yourself."

The Following Sunday afternoon

Aoi: "So you're actually doing this, are you sure you can handle it?"

Ky: "A little too late for me to change my mind don't you think? Besides if I don't do something Akihiko and his goons will just keep coming after me."

Aoi: "Are you sure it's a good idea to bring your sister with you?"

Ky: "I'm already under enough stress as it is and as much as she bugs me it makes me feel better knowing I at least have someone I can…mostly trust watching my back over there."

Aoi: "I see, well good luck to you, don't feel too bad if you can't pull this off, I'm not expecting miracles."

Ky: "…Hey."

Aoi: "Hm?"

Ky: "Don't get the wrong idea when I say this, I'm not trying to reassure you or act confident but I will pull this off, you can count on that."

Aoi: "Hm, that's good to hear."

Ky: "Oh by the way your shoe's untied."

Aoi: "Oh thanks, let me just ge- wha!? Hey I'm wearing loafers!"

Ky: "Pahahaha, I'm sorry, I just can't believe you keep falling for that, you're so gullible hahaha."

Aoi: "Definitely not going to miss that."

So Aoi left to his dorm while Kyousuke dragged his bags down to where everyone was waiting.

Yo: "Ooooh! I can't believe my baby girl is actually going to Tokyo Academy! How ever did you get admitted?"

Ki: "Oh uuuh you know this and that and the other thing and yadda yadda eheheheh"

Yo: "Sounds fancy."

Sa: "{Sniff} We'll miss you Kiririn! Do you really have to go?"

Ru: "Calm down Saori, it's not like she can't visit us here."

Ki: "Yeah I'll come hang out with you guys next weekend."

Ay: "I'm actually kind of Jealous, I hear the Tokyo campus is super cutting edge and luxurious."

Ka: "Yeah if you're in the top fifty students."

Ky: "Alright, got my stuff and I'm ready to go."

Dai: "What are you doing here?"

Ky: "Um, I'm going too."

Yo: "I don't know if you understand this Kyousuke but just because you're Kirino's brother doesn't mean you get admitted to."

Ky: "…Hey Kirino you got Mochi?"

Ki: "Yeah safe and sound in his crate, is my wittle floof ball comfy~"

Mo: I-i-i-i-i

Ky: "Hnnng."

Ky: Oh god I think I just contracted diabetus.

Dai: "Ugh, alright let's go."

Ky: "Hm, I just noticed, where's Arika?"

Ru: "Who's Arika?"

Ky: "…Oh crap."

Kyousuke and Kirino loaded into the car and they headed to THA.

Yo: "Wow this place is amazing! So well landscaped."

Dai: "Hm, this sort of atmosphere should be optimal for sculpting minds."

Ky: "Yeah sure LOOKS that way doesn't it?"

After parking everyone headed to the siblings' assigned dorm which was rather underwhelming.

Yo: "W-well this certainly has a different feel to the rest of the campus."

Dai: "I'm sure you'll get something better when you rank up."

The dorm was just a single room, no bathroom, no toilet, no beds, nothing but a single window, a closet with some futons and a wide dresser.

Ki: "Ugh god."

Ky: "Not really any different than my room when Kirino moved out."

Yo: "Don't worry sweetie, we'll loan you some furniture if you want."

Dai: "For now think of this as a good humbling experience, okay then we'll be going, come on Kyousuke."

Ky: "Wait you guys really think I didn't get in?"

Yo: "Well of course, no offense honey but THA is one of the most prestigious schools in Japan and, uh, you aren't really the most qualified of people."

Ky: "OhmyfuggingGod."

Kyousuke quickly pulled the papers out showing he was indeed accepted into THA.

Dai: "Hm."

Yo: "W-Wait you actually did get in?!"

Dai: "But there wasn't any other room number on the paperwork, do they really expect you two to share this? There's no privacy!"

Ky: "Yeah that is going to be an issue."

Ki: No privacy?

At that realization Kirino immediately had many thoughts of her and Kyousuke living like newly weds before her thoughts quickly descended into dirty images of indecent accidental exposure.

Ki: "I-It's okay, I don't mind."

Dai&Ky&Yo: "Really?"

Ki: "Yeah we can just set up a privacy screen or something and it'll be fine."

Dai: "Are you sure?"

Ki: "Yeah, besides, we are going to upgrade eventually so we'll only have to deal with this for a little while, so there's no need to make a big deal about it."

Ky: "Huh, and here I was thinking you be bitching about this for the next week."

Ki: "{Kick!}."

Ky: "Agh!"

Dai: "Hm, well your mother and I should get going."

Yo: "If you need anything just call."

Ki: "Okay, bye."

Ky: "Ugh, later."

After the parents left Kirino opened Mochi's crate and he immediately began to hop around before she fed him his putty ball while Kyousuke sat on the floor against the wall.

Ky: "Man, this definitely going to be an adjustment from the penthouse."

Ki: "Yeah but we are doing this for a good reason, if Aoi is right about this then we'd be doing some real good and helping people, you know, like heroes."

Ky: "Isn't this more of a detective or private investigation type of thing?"

Ki: "Yeah but you do plan on kicking his ass afterwards."

Ky: "Oh yeah."

{Knock, knock}

Ki: "Wonder who that could be."

Ky: "It's Arika, I just know it."

At hearing the knock at the door Kirino went to answer.

Ar: "Heya there, welcome to THA~"

Ki: "…"

Ky: "Called it."

Ki: "Arika what the hell are you doing here?"

Ar: "What are you talking about girl-I've-never-met-before? I'm Arika Hiroyuki, proud student of Tokyo Hero Academy for the past several years."

Ki: "Just get in."

So Arika entered the dorm and sat down on the floor next to Kyousuke.

Ar: "Heeeey~"

Ky: "Ick."

He immediately began to scoot away.

Ar: "So I don't think I have to explain why I'm here, do I?"

Ki: "Yeah I think it's pretty obvious, what about the DSA?"

Ar: "Don't worry about the move, if anything this is better since we're closer to headquarters."

Ky: "That's good at least, I was worried this would complicate things between us."

Ar: "Yeah and as for the KDL agents, you'll still be working with them as per usual but they'll give you the week off to let you get settled in. Oh that reminds me, Hitaro wanted me to give you this."

Arika then reached down into her shirt, pulled out an envelope and gave it to Kyousuke which he accepted with a bit of reluctance.

Ky: "Hm, wonder what this is."

Kyousuke then opened the envelope and pulled out a note.

Hey buddy, heard about the move and your little investigation, don't ask me how I know, that should already be obvious, hope you're successful. Anyway I also heard about your financial situation and after pulling a few strings we finally got the higher-ups of KDL to give you what you're owed for your work and any work you do in the future. Despite what you may think you've been more of an asset than a liability for a lot of our jobs and vice versa for a few others but Ayami and I thought you deserved this, have fun but try to spend responsibly.|

Ky: "Huh?"

Kyousuke looked inside the envelope again and pulled out another piece of paper which was a check for 170,000 yen, Kyousuke sat there completely still as statue as his mind imploded.

Ki: "Kyousuke? What is i-"

After Kirino walked over to see what was wrong with Kyousuke she caught a glimpse of the little sheet she became stone frozen as well.

Ar: "Hey, you two okay?"

Ky: "…Kirino, I don't know if I'm hallucinating but is that a comma or a misplaced decimal point."

Ki: "That is definitely a comma, Kyousuke you are a hundred and seventy thousand yen rich."

Ky: "If this was a badly written comedy, I'd be fainting right now."

Ar: "Jeez you really are teenagers if you think that's a lot of money, anyway if you're finished crapping yourselves over pocket change let's get going."

Ky: "Going where?"

Ar: "Eh, the other reason I'm here is because I volunteered to show you two around, so let's go."

So Arika showed the siblings and Mochi around the dormitory building which was empty since everyone goes home for the weekend and Kirino couldn't help but cringe at seeing that all of the utilities were communal, the toilets, the showers, the laundry machines, even the kitchen had to be shared though it was surprisingly clean indicating that most everyone didn't cook their food. There was also a common area with several TVs that had to be accessed via reservation book with a usage limit of 2 hours per half-day, after finishing with the dorm tour Arika showed them the rest of the campus where they encountered more people who were surprisingly welcoming especially towards Mochi.

"Oooh your puffball spider is so cute!~"

"Can we pet him?!"

Ki: "Sure, this guy is a little attention whore."

Mo: I-i-i-i-i-i~

Ar: "Hey come on let's not hold up the tour."

Ak: "Oh hey! There you are!"

Ki: "A-Akihiko!?"

Ky: "Hey wassup."

Ak: "So how you liking the place?"

Ky: "The dorm is kind of crappy but I guess that's what I get for turning down your first offer."

Ak: "Ah don't worry about it, I'm sure with your strength you'll be able to upgrade in no time."

Ky: "Yeah."

Ak: "Oh and I see you're taking full advantage of those sneaky alterations you made to the contract."

Ki: "Uh."

Mo: I-i-i

Ak: "I have to say I didn't take you for the deceitful type."

Ky: "What can I say, I get lonely without my sister around, she's my moral support."

Ki: "{Blush}"

Ak: "Wait you guys aren't "that way" are you?"

Ki: "{BLUSH!}."

Ar: "Ooohoohoohooh!"

Ky: "W-what!? Of course not!"

Ak: "Hey it's fine with me if you are, just wondering if I should separate you two to avoid any "accidents"."

Ky: "Well we aren't, that's just sick man."

Ak: "Okay then but listen I want you to enjoy your time here at THA as much as possible so feel free to partake in all the school's facilities for the rest of the day and go out into the city too, we have a midnight curfew and there's a nearby mall that we can use our school credits at."

Ky: "Really now?"

Ak: "Yeah so go have fun and welcome to Tokyo Hero Academy."

Akihiko then walked off with Hoshi in tow who paused momentarily to glare at Kirino who glared right back, at which Hoshi stuck out her chest to emphasize her superior bust that Kirino couldn't help but be envious of.

Ar: "Ah don't let her get to you lil sis."

Ki: "Stop calling me that."

Ar: "Big boobs aren't the only way to a man's heart, though they do make it easier, you still got the looks to reel in the big fish."

Ki: "Shut up, so Kyousuke you sure got along well with Akihiko and I'm not really getting any bad vibes from him."

Ky: "Oh don't misunderstand, I still hate that asshole's guts and I want nothing more than to curb stomp him but it's best to keep the peace outside the battlefield so he doesn't catch on to what I'm trying to do."

They continued the tour, seeing the pool, the massive green house that was practically an indoor Garden of Eden with a built in cafe, there was even a small animal farm with bees, chickens, ducks, goats and several species of mutated livestock, fortunately Mochi behaved himself and didn't attempt to eat any of them though he was clearly antsy around them. After that Arika then led them down to the underground facilities where the new on-sight DSA office was where they had a short meeting with Naoki and Nicola.

Ar: "Alright and that completes the tour, the tour guide will kindly meet with male patrons in private to receive any tips~"

Ki: "Thanks for the tour."

{SLAM!}

Ky: "The farg is a tip?"

Ki: "Alright, still early, we don't have anything to really do and we have a ton of money to play around with, anything you want to do."

Ky: "Honestly I'd really like to soak in my hot tub right now, but obviously I can't do that…anything you want to do?"

Ki: "Me?"

Ky: "Yeah, my treat, anything you want."

Ki: Anything I want?

At that moment Kirino began to imagine a few things from a dinner at a fancy restaurant to simulate a date to going to watch a scary movie and pretend to be scared to get Kyousuke's attention but then she came up with the best idea.

Ki: "Hm, I don't feel like going out, want to just get some snacks and watch some movies on my laptop?"

Ky: "Really? I thought you'd want to go out to an expensive restaurant or something but okay."

Ki: "Okay then you get the snacks I'll get everything set up here."

Ky: "Want anything specific?"

Ki: "Twinkers, now get going."

Ky: "Alright, alright."

After he left Kirino went about executing the rest of her plan.

Ki: "Even if it's only some accidental snuggling I'm going to finally enjoy a bit of Kyousuke love tonight. Hmm, should I spill some cologne or something to boost the experience?"

After changing into a cute top and her most enticing short-shorts, Kirino set up the laptop and one of the futons on the floor before spilling a little bit of water on the other one and hiding its blanket under the dresser then finally cranking up the AC to the point she was just uncomfortably cold.

Ki: "O-oh hey Kyousuke, uh, b-bad news, while I was setting up your futon I accidentally spilled some of my water on it, but don't worry it should dry out in a little bit."

Ky: "Oh come on."

Ki: Wait I just realized, what if he just decided to sleep on the floor? I didn't plan for that; I need more water!

Ky: "Hm, you don't mind sharing do you?"

Ki: Score!

Ki: "Ugh, as much as I don't want to, it was my fault so I guess I'll let you, to pay you back."

Ky: "Cool."

Ki: "Oh by the way I couldn't find your blanket so I guess we'll have to share mine too."

Ky: "Just my luck, thanks for being nice today."

Ki: "{Blush} N-No problem."

After that they both laid down under the blanket together right next to each other while Mochi crawled into his heated crate for the night though immediately Kirino felt a strange warmth emanating from Kyousuke.

Ky: Whoa, this is new, it's so warm, it's the perfect temperature, is that Kyousuke doing that? If it wasn't for all the sugar in my system I could fall asleep like this.

As they watch the movie Kirino unconsciously snuggled closer and closer to Kyousuke and he was too engrossed in the movie to notice. Once the movie was over Kyousuke decided to get up to stretch causing Kirino to feel unbearably cold despite the room being only slightly chilly.

Ki: So cold!

She immediately put the blanket back on herself.

Ki: Too hot, need big brother heater, jeez how am I going to get to sleep tonight without that heavenly ass I mean warmth?

It was then Kirino came up with another brilliant idea.

Ki: "Whoops!~"

While Kyousuke was looking the other way Kirino grabbed her water glass and tossed the whole thing over her shoulder onto his now dry futon.

Ky: "Wha- Oh come on!"

Ki: "Sorry, I'm so clumsy today~"

Ky: "You got that right, now where am I going to sleep?"

Ki: "Well I guess I'll be super extra nice toda-"

Ky: "Wait a sec, I have an idea."

It was then Kyousuke pressed his hands into the futon and generated enough heat to vaporized the water without burning the material and within minutes his futon was all dry again.

Ky: "There we go, starting to forget how useful my powers are for quality of life issues."

Ki: G*% DAMMIT!

Ky: "Hm?"

Then in the light of Kirino's laptop Kyousuke noticed his blanket under the dresser.

Ky: "Hey there's the other blanket."

Ki: SHIT! FUCK! DAMMIT! HELL!

Ky: "What's it doing down here? Well looks like we won't have to share tonight, bet you're happy about that."

Ki: "Y-yeah, totally elated."

So Kyousuke pushed his futon closer to the laptop and they continued watching movies as Kirino dealt with the spiteful cold without her blanket and the oppressive heat with her blanket, when they decided to go sleep, she ugly cried out of frustration for an hour before passing out.

The Next Day

"Kyousuke Kousaka! I challenge you to a doooell!"

Ky: "FUCK!"

Kyousuke was swamped with challenges within the first week at THA fortunately they were low rank so he soundly beat them, one right after the other, each day he was near dead exhausted but he bolstered his rank enough to qualify for a new dorm room with a single bedroom with a bunk bed, furniture and built in utilities short of a kitchen.

Ki: "Ah~ Finally a couch and a tv~ Thank you big brother~"

Ky: "You better be thankful, I went through hell this week, my blisters feel like burning coals."

Ki: "Kyousuke you don't get blisters."

Ky: "Oh yeah."

{Ririring}

Ky: "Yello?"

Aya: |Dafuq you just say!?|

Ky: "I-I-I uh-"

Ay: |WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY!?|

Ky: "I-I-I mean, h-hello!"

Aya: |Good, anyway how's it going Kyou?|

Ky: "Going well just upgraded my dorm."

Aya: |In your first week? Good for you, anyway you think you could join us today, I know we let you take the week off but we could really use your skills.|

Ky: "You mean not dying?"

Aya: |Exactly, we have a lead on another small smuggler's op and we'll need you to look through whatever contraband there is in case there's anything dangerous, of course this is optional but you are getting payed now.|

Ky: "Yeah sure, I still feel like I owe you for all you did, plus I don't have anything better to do."

Ki: "Hmph, jerk."

So Kyousuke gets prepped, joins Hitaro and Ayami and they head to a warehouse where they planned to ambush the smugglers.

Hi: "Alright, I can hear them in there."

Aya: "You don't hear anything else?"

Hi: "No, all's quiet everywhere else, there's only a couple of guys, we shouldn't need backup."

Aya: "Alright, Kyousuke you should stay behind so you don't break our cover."

Ky: "Roger."

So Hitaro and Ayami quietly opened the door but it did creak a little.

Aya: "Hitaro, wtf!? I thought you muted it!"

Hi: "I thought I did."

They grabbed each other's hands and continued forward but while they were quiet their steps made sound too.

Aya: "Hitaro?"

Hi: "I don't know what's going on…prep your gun."

They continued with guns in hand and reached the area where they heard people but when they looked around a large crate all they saw was a table with a radio on it playing the sounds they were hearing.

Hi: "What the hell?"

Aya: "Okay this just screams trap."

"Yes it does."

Hi: "Huh?"

They looked up to the top of the crate to see a man pointing a gun at them, then they heard noise all around them and noticed even more people all with their sights trained on them. Knowing they stood no chance Ayami and Hitaro dropped their guns and raised their hands.

Aya: "Could really use our meat shield right now."

Then they heard someone walking over, it was a man with an odd hand gun that had a wire attached to the handle that linked to a metal box attached to him by a belt, he was also carrying the radio which he turned off and handed to one of the others.

"Alright, you there, girl, get on your radio and call the kid in."

Aya: They know about Kyousuke?

Hi: "What are you talking about?"

"…Shoot him."

{Bang~}

Before either of them could react Hitaro got shot in the leg with a suppressed pistol.

Hi: "AGH!"

Aya: "Hitaro!"

Hitaro fell to the ground while holding his leg in pain.

"You two know exactly what I'm talking about, now call him in or you and your boyfriend become part of our stock."

Aya: "…Kyousuke proceed with entry, I repeat proceed with entry."

Ky: |On my way.|

A minute later Kyousuke comes barging in.

Ky: "Alright I'm here-"

{BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!}

Ky: "What?"

The man flipped a switch on his box and unloaded a few rounds from his special gun into Kyousuke, hitting his right thigh, left hip, left shoulder and in his stomach, when he was done he flipped the switch back. But instead of bouncing off…the bullets tore straight through Kyousuke, past his armor, his clothes, his flesh and bone and straight out the other side, blood began to pour from him as he fell to the ground.

Aya&Hi: "KYOUSUKE!"

They couldn't believe what had happened, the boy who was supposed to be completely indestructible was shot down and was lying out cold in his own blood. As everyone was distracted Ayame attempted to attack one of the thugs but when she tried to use her power nothing happened and the she was immediately knocked to the ground with a baton.

{Wham!}

Aya: "Agh!"

"You're lucky I don't shoot you but a girl like you is worth more alive than dead."

"Okay set up the rig on the boy, get him prepped for pick up. Get those two secured for transport, we're getting out of here as soon as we're done with the client."

Hitaro and Ayami were tied up and collared while one guy set up what looked like a back brace on Kyousuke that had two metal rods sticking out of it and a metal box that looked similar to their boss's. Once it was fastened the man then flipped a switch on the box pushed down on one of the rods forcing it into Kyousuke's spine with a loud pop as it pierced between the vertebrae on his lower back and neck.

{POP!}

Hi: "What are you doing to him?!"

"Making sure he doesn't get back up."

{POP!}

They were then dragged to the back room of the warehouse so as to prevent the client from pulling anything.

"You two watch them and don't touch the girl, we want her nice and clean."

"Yeah yeah."

Aya: "…Kyousuke? Are you okay? …Kyousuke?"

Ky: "Gah! Hm? Ugh, what happened? I blacked out there."

Hi: "Kyousuke are you hurt?"

Ky: "No I'm just really uncomfortable."

"Jeez that kid's the real deal."

"Can't even imagine going through that."

Aya: "Really? Even after getting shot and bleeding that much?"

Ky: "Blood? I don't remember that, w-wait I got shot!"

Hi: "We really have to report that gun to the DSA if we get out of here."

"Yeah "IF"."

Hi: "Can you move?"

Ky: "…Hmmm…no."

Hi: "Hmm, I need time to think, how are we going to get out of this."

"You do know we're watching you, the moment you try anything we're just going to stop you."

Hi: "Hm."

For fifteen minutes they sat in silence as the two guards conversed with each other.

Ky: "…Hey!...Hey!"

"What is it?"

Ky: "My helmet is getting hot, can you guys take it off?"

"Oh, yeah sure."

One of the guards walked over and removed Kyousuke's helmet before tossing it aside and returning to his conversation.

Ky: "Thanks."

"No prob."

Kyousuke then looked Hitaro dead in the eye until he noticed and he began blinking to him in Morse code like he learned in class.

Ky: |Hey, do you understand me?|

Hi: |Yeah, do you have a plan?|

Ky: |Sort of, more like taking advantage of my loss of bowel control.|

Hi: |Wait, you're not going to…|

Ky: |Here it comes!|

{PPPPPPPPPPlplplplplplppp!}

"Oh my god seriously!"

"Good lord that stinks!"

Ky: "Sorry guys, I'm paralyzed so you know…"

"Ugh."

One of the guards left the room to ask the boss what they should do.

"Alright, boss said to just remove the rig and dunk him in the ocean until he's clean, the residual energy from the box should slow down his recovery so it should be fine as long as we don't take too much time."

The two guards then did a short game of rock, paper, scissors and the loser dragged Kyousuke out to the docks and after removing the spine piercing device, he hooked him onto a small loading crane and lowered him into the water.

"Okay just tell me when you're all clean."

"Paralyzed, remember?"

"Oh, right."

Kyousuke allowed the guard to dunk him a few times to clean out his drawers, then on the fifth dunk he sucked a bunch of water until his cheeks were at max capacity, a few more dunks later and the guard brings Kyousuke back, perplexed at his distended face.

"What are you-"

Before he could finish his sentence Kyousuke then blasted him in the face with super heated sea water.

{BFWOOOM!}

The blast ejected with enough force and heat to completely incinerated the man's head, leaving nothing but his skull and the upper half of his neck bones and he fell to the ground dead leaving Kyousuke hanging on the crane.

Ky: "Sorry man, may you rest in peace."

After a couple more minutes Kyousuke got control of his limbs back and released himself from the crane.

Ky: "Okay, better make this quick."

Kyousuke then rushed over to the dead guard and grabbed his rifle and silenced pistol along with his extra rounds and throwing knives. After that he quietly trotted back to where Hitaro and Ayami were and thanks to the practice he put in at CHA he landed a precise hit on the other guard's head with a throwing knife, killing him instantly and after another quick prayer for him he proceeded to free the others.

Aya: "Whoa Kyousuke, badass."

Hi: "Yeah, didn't expect this sort of initiative from you."

Ky: "I know right?"

Just as they were about to make their escape the doors to the docks and to the warehouse storage opened and all the thugs along with their leader came filing in with guns ready.

"You think we wouldn't notice what you did? Thankfully this guy was peeking in and warned us in time so we could mobilize."

Hi: "Shit."

"Now you cost me two good men, which is more than you two are worth…hmhmhm guess I'll be feeding the girl to my boys."

At that some of the thugs began to chuckle sadistically and they glared hungrily at Ayami as she stood there with a terrified look on her face and Hitaro was at a complete loss of what to do and still unable to use his powers but then Kyousuke came up with another ass-pull and he looked at Hitaro.

Ky: "…"

Hi: "…"

Ky: |Duck for cover.|

As soon as Kyousuke blinked that message Hitaro pulled Ayami behind a crate as Kyousuke quickly aimed the rifle he stole at the leader but the others were just as quick on the draw and he only let off a few rounds before he was pelted with a hail of bullets and few from the leader that pierced his knee cap, arm and neck. But the bullets Kyousuke fired managed to hit the metal box on the leader's belt and a few seconds later it exploded calmly and silently in a blast of steam and a bright flash of light, when the light faded the leader along with everything within a seven foot radius of him disappeared, leaving behind only a pile of dust.

"What the fuck!?"

"BOSS!"

As Kyousuke lied on the ground motionless Hitaro and Ayami realized they could use their powers again and acted quick. Before any of the thugs could react Ayami kicked a large crate sending it sliding into the group that came in from the back and Hitaro snapped his fingers, knocking out the rest with a sonic blast.

Aya: "…Did we actually win?"

Hi: "Yeah…we did."

Ky: "Ugh, glargapahggegh."

Kyousuke was still lying on the ground unable to speak with a bullet in his throat.

Aya: "Just stay calm and heal up Kyou, you really saved our asses today."

Hi: "Yeah after this, I'm giving you a big bonus and a couple more days off."

Ky: "Glargh~"

So Hitaro picked up Kyousuke in a piggy back hold and they made their way back to their vehicle as he fell asleep but once they walked out to the main storage area the door on the exit door opened and in entered what looked like a man in a mechanical suit and a katana with a wire attached to the handle that linked to a familiar looking metal box attached to his hip.

Hi: "Who are you?"

"Hmmm…"

The man then looked at Kyousuke.

"Are you the ones that were hired?"

The man's voice came out softly and intelligently.

Hi: "Answer my question, who are you?"

"…I will have to assume you are not but you are carrying my package, I ask that you hand it over to me and I will let you two free, I'll even give you the payment I was going to give to my intended recipient."

Aya: "Not a chance."

"Then I will have to take him from you."

The man the drew his blade but instead of a solid sharpened edge it had a band of white light that seemed to be projected from the blunt side

"I ask again, give me the boy and you can leave unharmed."

Aya: "If you want him you'll have to kill us first."

"Very well."

Ayami lunged forward to throw a punch but it was like the man moved at the speed of sound as he made deep but non-lethal cuts all throughout her body, she fell to the ground completely immobilized within seconds.

Hi: "Ayami!"

"I will not ask again, hand over the package."

Hi: "…"

Hitaro began to walk to his left keeping his eyes on the man as he followed suit then when Ayami was out of the line of fire Hitaro snapped his fingers, sending a focused sonic blast but the man went into a defense stance and somehow…cut it in half, completely deflecting the blast.

Hi: "What?!"

Immediately after that the man did the same as he did with Ayami and cut up Hitaro but he remained standing and as a last ditch effort attempted to shamble towards the exit but quickly gave out and fell to the ground near Ayami, sending Kyousuke tumbling half way between them causing him to wake up.

Ky: Huh? What's going on?

As he came to, he looked to his right to see Hitaro lying in his own blood.

Ky: "…"

{Drip}

Then he looked to his left to see Ayami in the same condition.

Ky: "…"

{Drip, drip, drip.}

As the man walked towards him he flipped a switch on his box to disable power use but cause the glow on his sword to fade. Kyousuke was paralyzed once again and all sound was blocked by a low sound of static that rung in his ears and his body began to painfully sting all over.

Ky: What's happening to me?!

The man looked down at Kyousuke to see his body shivering and his eyes wide open with little sparkles of blue light popping off in his irises.

The man reached down to grab Kyousuke but then noticed the half second Kyousuke's hand began to move and at sonic speed he back away fifty feet just as Kyousuke swung his thermal blade.

"Hm?"

Kyousuke rose to his feet, eyes half lidded and unfocused like he was half asleep and the sparks in his eyes continued to go off.

"How is this possible? He shouldn't be able to use any of his powers."

The man then noticed the blade projection glitch out for a second.

"So this is the power of a godling, capable of ignoring the laws of physics, at least to a point."

As he stood there Kyousuke began to walk toward him, the man then lunged forward at blinding speed, the moment he attempted the first cut Kyousuke used his hand on the blunt side to redirect the blade and with his other hand made another thermal blade. Kyousuke then attempted to cleave the man but his reactions were quick enough to avoid but then he saw a thermal rifle barrel coming from Kyousuke's elbow and it fired right in the middle of his dodge, hitting him in the chest with ten times charge. Before the man could recover Kyousuke was already in his face and continued with his thermal blade, cutting him hip to shoulder, the man then jumped back to put distance between them.

"He's fast, I must increase my speed."

The man then shed his armor revealing beneath that he wasn't just wearing a suit but he was in fact entirely mechanical, an android. He then burst forward even faster than before, Kyousuke attempted to counter be he was outpaced as the android proceeded to cut off his arm, then without pause he cut off his other arm.

"I have no commands to retrieve you fully intact."

But then to the android's surprise as he turned around Kyousuke was there right behind him about to attack but then he realized that he had accidentally plunged his sword into Kyousuke's chest, as he knew, right where his core was.

Ky: "…Huh? Why do I keep blacking out?"

Kyousuke had partially regained consciousness but the android then detached the wire from the sword and backed away immediately. Kyousuke then felt a rising heat begin to permeate through his body, it got so intense that the sword in his chest melted and the ground around him began to glow in a slowly expanding circle.

Ky: "What's going on?"

"Initiating special containment procedures."

The android then removed two objects from his waist, first a foldable pole, then a small spear head shaped metal cage that opened up in six prongs which he attached to the end of the pole then attached the wire to the other end.

"Godling neutralization device assembled, proceeding with capture."

The man the threw the spear at Kyousuke hitting him in the chest allowing the basket head to encompass his core, forcing it to stabilize.

Ky: "Huh?"

Once the spear was securely in place the man ran toward Kyousuke and tackled him out of heated area.

Ky: "Who are you?"

The man then removed the pole from the head and reset the wire onto the head.

"Capture complete."

With Kyousuke now in his custody, the man finally began to take his leave.

Th: "Where do you think you're going?"

"Hm?"

Theodore had arrived shortly after Hitaro and Ayami were taken out and after observing the fight Theodore finally revealed himself before the android could escape.

Th: "An android, talk about Sci-fi, even the US doesn't have anything like you, bet you don't even have a proper name."

"What is it that you want, Theodore Matthews?"

Th: "You know about me?"

"Yes and I know of your powers, the ability to kill any living thing upon contact with your blood and the ability to immediately respawn with a new body upon death, that is why I was deployed, your blood cannot kill something that isn't alive."

Th: "Whatever, just put the kid and the device down and you won't have to be the first of your kind to experience death at my hands."

"My orders were to retrieve the target…but if I were to face insurmountable odds I must either self-destruct or retreat, logic dictates that if I were to face you now without my Disruptor weapon I'd lose even if your powers don't work on me. I'm not in a position that requires me to self destruct…very well I concede defeat, so long as you let me leave you may have the boy without resistance, though I warn you I accidentally damaged his core."

Th: "Yeah I saw that and it seems that device of yours is what's keeping him stable so I'll make sure that stays in place, now be on your way."

"Farewell then, don't expect me to be so ill-prepared should next we meet."

The android put Kyousuke and the device down, reacquired his damaged armor and left without another word.

Th: "…Jeez, this a real mess."

Theodore picked the once again unconscious Kyousuke up onto his shoulder while carrying the metal box like a suit case, he then made his way over to the other two but was shocked when he saw that while their blood was still fresh, they had no wounds to speak of.

Th: "Hm…so much for being a monster."

The Following Hour

After staying up worriedly waiting, Kirino got the call about what happened and she ran all the way to the hospital where Kyousuke was, even when she was totally exhausted, she power walked through the hospital until he reached his room.

Ki: "Kyousuke?"

Inside she found Hitaro and Ayami sitting next to a sleeping Kyousuke and she spotted the device sticking out of his chest.

Ki: "W-What happened?!"

She was on the verge of tears thinking the device was going to kill him.

Aya: "It's okay, he'll be fine."

Ky: "What are you talking about?! he has a huge piece of metal sticking out of his chest! where's Mr. Johannes?!"

Hi: "He's already looked at him, he said he just needs time to prep for the operation to remove that thing but for now he's okay."

Ki: "Why can't they just take it out?"

Aya: "Because his core got damaged directly and that thing in his chest is the only thing keeping it from going critical but at the same time it's keeping it from healing. Unlike the last time he had to work on him he can't use his powers to fix this so he has to perform surgery to stabilize the core and allow it to heal on its own."

Ki: "…Kyousuke."

She went over and took his hand in both of hers.

Ki: "You idiot…you're supposed to be indestructible, why do you keep ending up like this?"

Aya: "Hm, you really care about your brother."

Ki: "It's not like anyone else will…if I wasn't around he'd be all alone, probably even dead right now, I'm the only person in the world he can lean on, all you people just see him as some tool."

Aya: "…Yeah, he really owes a lot to you, whenever things get slow on our outings, he'd talk about you a lot, mostly complaints but it did seem like he cared a lot about you too."

Hi: "And…you're not the only one that cares about him, maybe not as much as you but we see him as important, even before he saved our lives."

Ki: "He did?"

Aya: "Yeah, just today in fact, if it wasn't for him we wouldn't be here."

Ki: "Hm, jeez, looks like I'm not the only one you're looking after…you doofus."

Aya: "Hm?"

As they were sitting there Ayami suddenly noticed a faint golden glow coming from Kirino's back.

Aya: "Hitaro-"

Hi: "Yeah I see it too, I'll call in Johannes."

After making the call Nicola arrived in minutes and spotted the anomaly then to everyone's surprise Nicola immediately lifted the back of Kirino's blouse revealing her naked back and bra strap.

Ki: "KYAAA!"

{BONK!}

Ki: "What do you think you're doing you perv?!"

Aya: "Yeah Johannes, what the heck?!"

Ni: "Ugh, sorry got a little over excited but please stay calm, I need to examine you."

Ki: "Examine me?"

Ni: "Yeah you don't feel that?"

Ki: "Feel what?"

Aya: "Here look."

Ayami pulled out her face mirror to show Kirino her back.

Ki: "What is that?"

Ni: "No idea, this is completely new to me, so please, let me examine you. I promise, no funny business, I'm a man of science first and foremost."

Ki: "…Alright fine."

Nicola again lifted Kirino's shirt but this time the glow was gone.

Ni: "W-what?"

Aya: "Hm?"

Hi: "Where'd it go?"

Ayami then noticed that Kirino wasn't holding Kyousuke's hand anymore.

Ay: "Kirino, grab Kyousuke's hand again like you were before."

Ki: "Um, okay."

So she grabbed his hand again and once again her back began to glow.

Hi: "Whoa, do you think this has something to do with the Godling core?"

Ni: "That would be the most likely explanation, I'm going to have to open her up to get a closer look."

Aya: "O-Open her up?"

Nicola then place both his hands on Kirino's back and his finger melded into her flesh.

Hi: "Holy shit!"

Aya: "Kirino can you feel that?"

Ki: "Feel what? What is it this time?!"

Nicola then curled his fingers then pulled Kirino's flesh open like a bag of chips revealing her bones and internal organs.

Hi: "Oh my god."

Aya: "Ooogh, I think I'm going to be sick."

Ki: "W-What's going on?! Why does it suddenly feel cold?!"

Ni: "Just stay calm."

Nicola then disconnected her ribs from her spine before finally grabbing the vertebrae where the glowing was coming from and turned it around to reveal an odd symmetrical, boney growth attached to her spine.

Ni: "I can't believe this."

Hi: "What in the world is that?"

Ni: "It's a core."

Ki: "Like Kyousuke's?"

Ni: "This can't be, I've looked at all of Kirino's medical records since she was born, there's been no evidence whatsoever of her being a Godling, unless…Kirino let go of Kyousuke's hand again."

She did as he said and the glow faded from the core.

Ni: "Hmm…okay hold it again but this time concentrate your thoughts on him, try to connect your heart with his."

Ki: "Okay."

She did so and this time her core began to glow with a greater intensity.

Ni: "I see."

Aya: "You see what?"

Nicola then put Kirino back together and walked to the other side of the bed.

Ki: "Why do I feel like I just got abducted by aliens?"

Hi: "What are you doing?"

Ni: "Okay Kirino, I'm going to need you to hold tight to Kyousuke's hand and keep your thoughts on him."

Ki: "Okay."

She sat there with Kyousuke's hand close to her face as Nicola grabbed onto the cage in Kyousuke's chest.

Hi: "Seriously Nick what are you doing?"

Ni: "Right now it's only a hypothesis but I believe that Kyousuke somehow implanted a sort of lesser core into Kirino."

Ki: "Wait, he what?!"

Ni: "I think it acts as a support unit for him, like if his core gets damaged or if he needs a bit of a boost in combat but this thing in his chest is blocking the connection."

Aya: "Are sure about that?"

Ni: "Mostly, really it's the best explanation for it, though I do have doubts."

Aya: "What if you're wrong?"

Ni: "Then I'll just jam this thing back in place before the whole building catches fire."

Aya&Hi: "F-Fire!?"

Ni: "Welp, here goes nothing!"

Aya&Hi: "WAIT!"

Ni: "Hnnnnng!"

{Pop!}

Without much effort the cage popped out of Kyousuke's chest perfectly clean.

Ni: "Well that was easy, hm?"

As soon as he pulled it out Kyousuke's core began to glow as well, both cores began to progressively increase their glow's intensity until they were almost as bright as moonlight.

Ki: What's going on? My body is suddenly cooling down but it feels nice, like a light breeze in early spring or like a dip in the pool on a hot day.

A few minutes passed as they continued contact before the glows faded again.

Hi: "Did it work?"

Ki: "Kyousuke?"

Ni: "…"

As they waited for something to happen Kyousuke rapidly shot up into a sitting position, startling everyone.

Uni: "AH!"

Ki: "Holy shit!"

Ky: "Hm?...Hm?"

Ki: "K-Kyousuke? You okay?"

Kyousuke looked at Kirino as she looked back and in a snarky tone said.

Ky: "Who the heck are you?"

Kirino knew immediately he was just pulling her leg but she still thought his prank was inappropriate.

Ki: "Oh so you have amnesia huh? Guess I'll have to fix it!"

Ky: "W-Wait, Kirino!"

{WHACK!}

Ky: "OW! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Agh!"

Ki: "Oh no it looks like you still have a bit of amnesia, here let me get it out for you!"

{WHACK! WHACK! WHACK!}

After a few more good strikes to his head she stopped and sat back down.

Ki: "Jeez I was worried sick about you and you pull something like that? You really are an idiot."

Ky: "I said I was sorry."

Aya: "Yeah Kyou, that was just in bad taste…it would've been funnier if you just crapped yourself again hmhmhm."

Ki: "Again?"

Aya: "I'll tell you about it later."

Ky: "Ayami shut up or I will kill you."

Hi: "Hmhmhm it's good to see you back up again Kyou."

Ni: "Haah, hmm, maybe I'll do the examination on them later, would rather not ruin the mood."

After confirming Kyousuke's health they all grabbed a dinner together, finally having a chance to properly meet each other Kirino and Ayami hit it off pretty well though half their conversation was at Kyousuke's expense and everyone had a good time. After bidding farewell and promising another get-together Kyousuke and Kirino were able to make it back to their dorm just before midnight.
