Okay, uh, most of the characters have have powers and Kyousuke has powers and, uh, he goes to a hero school with his sister Kirino and he saves the world and the universe and stuff, doesn't get anymore complicated then that, I swear.

18. Chapter 18

Re: "So you accepted another challenge from one of Akihiko's cohorts?"

Ky: "Yeah I know I screwed up but this time it wasn't for information or forced compliance, he wants to eat Mochi."

Re: "…"

Ky: "Uh, Renji?"

Re: "You are to win this match at all costs."

Ky: "Huh?"

Re: "I'm serious you little son of a bitch, you're the one that put sweet little Mochi's life on the line, I don't care if there was a 100% chance of winning, you are to never pull that kind of shit, now you better do whatever it takes to win this or I'll shove my foot up your ass, walk you up to Akihiko with you still attached and rat you out myself!"

Ky: "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to do it, Ryu and his asshole friends just got me riled up and I wasn't thinking."

Re: "So who was the guy that challenged you anyway?"

Ky: "Didn't get his name but he was able to use his powers to smush the new tag I got for Mochi."

Re: "Let's see, hmm…oh, oh shit."

Ky: "What?"

Renji then got up from his chair and went over to grab up Mochi.

Re: "I'm taking Mochi with me, I declare mission failed, we tried our best."

Ky: "Whoa, what are you talking about!?"

Re: "Kyousuke, you just accepted a challenge from 9th rank Izayoi Minamoto the Terran Prince, Earth Elemental: Supreme-, you're going to fight one of the top ten and the strongest earth elemental in THA!"

Ky: "Oh shit, wait what rank is Ryuu again?"

Ki: "He's 8th and I'm sure you still remember the thorough ass whooping he gave you before we transferred."

Just then Kirino came in carrying a bag of snacks and Mochi immediately jumped out of Renji's arms to greet her.

Ky: "So I'm dead."

Re: "Pretty much."

Ki: "Hey there Mochi~ I brought you a tasty snack~ By the way, I brought you something too Kyousuke."

Ky: "Hm?"

{Punch!}

Ky: "Agh! What was that for!?"

Ki: "For being an idiot and putting my fur baby's life in danger!"

Ky: "Wait you heard that?!"

Ki: "Yeah, so when is the match?"

Ky: "We scheduled for next week, he said I'd need the time to prepare before he made me his bitch."

Ki: "…Well then let's go."

Ky: "Go where?"

Ki: "To train obviously."

Re: "Well I'll take that as my que to leave, good luck you two, also Kirino?"

Ki: "Yeah?"

Re: "Put him through the wringer."

Ki: "Oh I intend to."

Ky: "Oh no."

So Kirino put Kyousuke through the most brutal training he's ever experienced, not only conditioning his muscles through exercise but honing his ability to think on his feet through the most frustrating VR combat sims, maintaining his balance by sparring with the sumo club, using him for target practice at the shooting range and increasing his stamina through endurance exercises in the most grueling obstacle course imaginable…a My little pony convention.

{thud}

Ky: "Please Kirino, just end me."

Kyousuke laid on the ground in a shriveled heap, not even able to lift his head to look her in the eye and his voice was hoarse from constant labored breathing.

Ky: "Just put me down like Old Yeller."

Ki: "No."

Kirino looked down at her brother with a sadistic malice in her eyes.

Ki: "Until were done and you've brought Akihiko to justice, you don't have my permission to die bitch."

Kirino then picked Kyousuke up by the back of his shirt and dragged him off to their next destination…a bath tub.

Ky: "Huh?"

Ki: "This next part of your training is more for your mind than your body, after pushing you to your absolute limit you'll go through full sensory deprivation for a few hours. This bath water is mixed with a large amount of salt so as to keep you suspended close to the surface and I bought a special water heating pump with your credits to maintain the water temperature to match your body temperature the whole time."

Ky: "Uh."

Ki: "You are not to move or make a sound or turn on the light until time is up, you got that?"

Ky: "Uh, y-yes ma'am."

Ki: "…A-And just to let you know…I don't hate you, I'm just mad, I'm only being hard on you so you succeed, so don't go delving into your usual pessimism."

Ky: "Hm, yeah I love you too."

Ki: "Geh!"

Ky: "Now get out so I can strip."

Clenching her chest Kirino exited but contemplated maybe taking a peek before he turned out the lights.

Still dehydrated, hungry and exhausted, Kyousuke turned out the lights and got into the tub lying prone so as to float freely, he felt like he was floating in space.

Ky: So what am I supposed to do? Just float here?

He remained still, the minutes felt like hours as a dozen thoughts went through his mind.

Ky: Hm maybe I could meditate, I heard somewhere that with enough concentration even a normal person could create fire using only their mind. Maybe if I focus enough, I can tune the caster nodes across my body to be more effective in utilizing my powers.

Kyousuke focused, trying to create complex projections on his back, chest, legs and feet. He could feel those parts of his body heat and cool but nothing else.

Ky: What's going…

All of a sudden he began to feel cold and the walls around him disappeared, then a dark grey arm faded in from the infinite darkness and pressed its finger into his chest.

The arm seemed to phase through him until it made contact with his Godling core and his body quickly grew colder until it began to freeze solid.

Ky: "S-Stop, augh!"

He couldn't move and it became hard for him to breath as the ice creeped toward his limbs and his head.

Ky: "Hih-hah! Hih-hah! W-What's happening?!"

Just as the ice was about to go over his eyes, he regained consciousness as Kirino pulled him out of the block of ice he had encased himself in.

Ky: "GHAAAAH! Hah, hah, what happened?"

Ki: "…You tell me, first I noticed the bathroom door frosting over, next thing I know, I walk into Jack Frost's winter wonder bathroom."

Kyousuke looked around the bathroom to see every square inch frosted over and his bath water was practically frozen solid despite being salty, it looked like Kirino had to use a good amount of strength to break him out.

Ky: "Whoa!"

It was then he noticed Kirino's hands were a bit frosted too.

Ky: "Hey does that hurt?"

Ki: "Yeah it stings a little, no thanks to you."

Ky: "Here let me warm you back up."

Kirino blushed a little as her brother took her hands and quickly heated them before frostbite could set in.

Ky: "Sorry about this, I don't know what happened, I was just floating here and then I wake up to all this."

Ki: "Hmm…maybe you need a little more self-introspective, this could be a reaction to a bad dream that could be symbolizing some sort of internal anguish. You think maybe you had another nightmare about the Cosmic Devourer?"

Ky: "Even if I did, I never had a reaction like this before and I don't exactly feel traumatized by whatever I dreamt about, heh, my head is really messed up."

Ki: "That it is, well I'm no psychologist so I can't help you but just know I have your back, so…i-if you need a hug or something just ask."

Ky: "Hmph…thanks."

So after thawing out the bathroom they went off to a movie theatre to get Kyousuke's mind off of things.

Ki: "We did it, I can't believe we did it!"

Ky: "Hah yeah, hah, we saved the universe~"

Na: "That's right, I'm the boss of the DSA and you guys fucking did it!"

Ki: "Hooray!"

Ky: "Yaaaaay!"

Na: "So now that, that's over, you two can get back to your normal lives and never have to deal with my bitch face again and as for me…I'm going to jump off this cliff and effing kill myself, later."

Ki: "Um, hey Kyousuke?"

{Splash!}

Ky: "Yeah wassup?"

Ki: "I've been meaning to tell you something that I've been wanting to say for a long time…Kyousuke I l-lov-"

Ky: "Ep, let me stop you right there, I've got something I need to tell you first."

Ki: "Eh?"

Ky: "I'm getting married to this rando chick that I've literally only talked to twice since our whole adventure started."

Ki: "Eh?!"

"Hey there, it's good to meet you, I'm going to enjoy riding your brother's dick every night and look forward to having his beautiful children."

Ki: "EEEEEEEH?!"

Ky: "Well see ya, have fun with peekabangs over there."

Ki: "Huh? Wait, Kazuhiko? What are you doing here?"

Kaz: "I'm so happy Kirino."

"I now pronounce you man and wife, you may kiss the bride!"

Kaz: "Pucker up darling!"

Ki: "No!"

"Uwaaaah! Uwaaaah!"

"Congratulations, it's a boy!"

Ki: "NOOOOOOOOO!"

Ki: "AH!"

Kirino shot up in a cold sweat, she took in her surroundings, glad to see that she was still at the THA dorms. After changing out of her sweaty clothes Kirino entered the living room to see a tray with some food under a heat preserving dome and a note.

|Morning little sis, here's some breakfast, I'll be out at the practice field if you need me. Love you're big brother.|

Kirino folded the note back up and after making sure nobody was looking, stuffed it into her bra and proceeded to dine on her breakfast while watching some morning soap operas. After consuming her cooked chicken menstrual fluids and bacon, Kirino followed up on her brother's location.

Ky: "Hup!...Hup!"

Ki: "What are you doing? And why are you, uh {gulp}, shirtless?"

Kirino had come up to Kyousuke at the schools practice field where several other students were practicing with their powers or just exercising. He was repeatedly jumping up into the air and had a large amount of steam bellowing up from both his shoulder blades.

Ky: "I'm trying, Hup! To learn, hup! How to fly! Gyah."

Ki: "Fly?"

Ky: "I'm going up against an Earth elemental and as I'm sure you know flying types beat ground types and I'm shirtless because I'm trying to focus on making some sort of jet thruster projection on my back and I don't want to burn my shirt."

Ki: "That actually sounds like a good idea but I highly doubt you'll get that down before the match, you may be an omnicaster but it's still gonna take a lot of time to condition your caster nodes to do what you want, for now you should really focus more on the nodes already capable of complex techniques."

Ky: "Yeah but I think I've gone as far as I can just using my hands."

Ki: "You won't be sure unless you keep pushing."

"Hey there, Kyousuke right?"

Ky: "Huh?"

Just then a girl came up to them, she had long black hair with some covering her right eye (similar to Kazuhiko's hairstyle) and brown eyes, she had a petite body and a kind of an average but cute look to her, not pretty enough to stand out in a crowd of other girls but still pretty enough by herself to grab the attention of plenty of guys. She was being pushed on by a couple of other girls that had big excited grins on their faces as she looked up to Kyousuke shyly, Kirino gave her an inquisitive glare though Kyousuke seemed oblivious to the reality of the situation.

Ky: "Yeah, that's me, can I help with something?"

Am: "Uh, yeah, my name is Amy Tanaka."

Ky: "Amy with an I or a Y?"

Am: "With a Y."

Ky: "Ooh, exotic."

Am: "I was wondering…if you wanted to hang out sometime."

Ky: "Uh, well unless you bring your friends it's probably gonna be just you, me and my sister because my only friends live like two hours away."

Am: "Actually I was thinking that just the two of us could hang out."

Ky: "Really? You don't think that sounds kind of boring, it's more fun to hang out with new friends alongside old friends, you know to help ease the tension should things get awkward."

Am: "I think it could be fun, I know lots of things we could do together."

Ky: "Alright just don't go trying to fleece me, I have money and I'm willing to spend it but I don't intend on breaking the bank just to entertain you. My sister makes me spend enough of my money on her as it is."

Ki: "Hmph."

Am: "I'm not saying you should spend money on me at all."

Ky: "Well that sounds even more boring, fun is never free, well how about we just exchange numbers and after we both come up with some ideas on what to do we can call each other and make a plan from there."

Am: "That sounds great!"

So after tapping their phones together, Amy giddily scurried off with her friends while Kirino could only stand there mildly shocked at what had just transpired.

Ky: "Hey Kirino, you think you might wanna come along with us? I know she said she only wants her and I to go but I think it would be better to at least bring one more along."

Ki: "A-ah, uh, K-Kyousuke? Do you seriously not know what just happened?"

Ky: "Yeah, I just made a new friend, why do you ask?"

Ki: "Kyousuke, she just asked you out on a date…a romantic date, as in she intends on making you her boyfriend."

Kyousuke stood there for a moment contemplating the words his sister had just spoken, for the boy had no first-hand reference on how to identify a female human that had a sexual interest in him of any sort. So he had to think hard back through the recent conversation, instant to instant, compartmentalizing the updated context of each exchange of words, each facial expression and each bodily gesture until his mind could fully comprehend what had happened and the intentions of the new party.

Ki: "Kyousuke? …Kyooousuke? …You in there?"

Ky: "…Holy shit, a girl just asked me out?"

Ki: "And? Well how do you feel about it?"

Ky: "I have no idea, seriously I've been single so long, I haven't the foggiest clue on what emotions I should be feeling right now."

Ki: "Really? Jeez, well you're going to reject her right? You're too busy with Izayoi and Akihiko to focus on a girlfriend."

Ky: "No, that would be incredibly rude and imagine how big of a hit my reputation would take if a guy as plain as me rejected a girl as cute as her. Especially after she was the one that took the initiative when it's traditionally the man's job to make the first move, I'd look like a total chode."

Ki: "Chode?"

Ky: "I mean I admit I don't really have any feelings for her given that we literally just met but I at least have to be polite and humor her for a little."

Ki: "B-But Akihiko, Izayoi!"

Ky: "They can wait, right now I have to make plans with my first ever girlfriend."

Kirino stood there and watched in silence as her brother walked off, she was at a complete loss of what to do, Kyousuke, the object of her affection, the very reason she got up in the morning and the subject of most of her dreams at night. Has now been claimed by another woman and soon enough would likely claim his chastity, just the thought of coming home and possibly walking in on them in the middle of "that" made Kirino sick to her stomach…she knew there was only one thing she could do.

Ki: "I must kill her- u-um I mean have to spy on her, there's something really fishy about this, no self-respecting girl asks a guy out herself, she has to be working for Akihiko."

Re: "My thoughts exactly."

Ki: "Eh?"

Just then Kirino turned around to see Renji a few feet away squatting to tie his shoe.

Re: "Don't look, face the other direction and just talk as normal."

Ki: "So you got any info on that homewrecker, I mean snake?"

Re: "Let's not talk here, meet me back at your dorm."

So Kirino left for the dorm and waited only a couple of minutes before Renji teleported in front of her.

Ki: "So, what do you know?"

Re: "Unfortunately not much, I haven't seen her make any interactions with Akihiko or his allies but that doesn't mean she doesn't follow him, perhaps she could be some kind of mole Akihiko designated before I transferred, for a situation like this or she could be one of his admirers working independently to get information for him."

Ki: "There's no way he could've foreseen Kyousuke coming after him."

Re: "Still you should watch her, even if she isn't up to something Kyousuke shouldn't be getting himself tangled up in a messy relationship, in fact give me a second."

Renji quickly teleported away, a minute later a duffle bag teleported in his place before he teleported himself back.

Re: "This bag has some surveillance equipment in it."

Ki: "Where'd you get this?"

Re: "…I even installed special noise cancelling devices in your dorm so Kyousuke and I can converse about our plans without worry of leakage, it can be switched on and off so they won't suspect anything."

Ki: "So I can use this stuff to spy on that bitch, watch her every move, expose every one of her secrets so unforgiveable, even Kyousuke would have to dump her, hehehehehahahahaha!"

Re: "Um…sure, just remember to be discrete, if this is indeed a trap set up by Akihiko we have to make sure we don't let him know that we figured it out, or else he'll set up something else more elaborate."

Ki: "Don't worry, I may be a super lifter but I can be stealthy when I want to be."

So Kirino proceeded to spy on Amy like the demented stalker she certainly isn't, she didn't see Amy attempt to make any physical or verbal contact with Kyousuke, likely saving conversation for when they actually go out. Amy seemed to be a normal sweet girl, helped out around the school but only ever had extended interactions with her other two friend who frequently teased her for now having a boyfriend, though other than that appeared to be a loner. She even had a lot of similar tastes to Kyousuke, they both enjoyed reading One Piece, both their favorite snacks were beef and cheese croquets and both liked listening to some band called Radiohead oddly enough. But most of all they both really liked hot tubs or similar hot water generating basins, she even kept a vast collection of hot tub safe bath products similar to Kyousuke's. So, to Kirino's horror, not only was Amy perfectly clean but her and Kyousuke were like a perfect match.

Ki: "…Too perfect, a girl who is a perfect match for Kyousuke, just waltzes up to him and asks him out, there's no way something like that just happens."

As Kirino was contemplating Kyousuke came out of the bathroom all clean and dressed up.

Ki: "Where are you going?"

Ky: "On muh date with Amy."

Ki: "So soon?!"

Ky: "Well yeah, this restaurant had some people cancel their reservation so we have to either go now or wait another two weeks and Amy says they have amazing food at reasonable prices, I'll bring you back something."

Ki: "Are you…excited?"

Ky: "Nope completely terrified, I'm actually more looking forward to the end of the night so I can relax and forget all about whatever fuck ups I inevitably make."

Ki: "Jeez, you should really have more confidence in yourself, women find insecure men a complete turn off."

Ki: Wait, what the hell? Why am I giving him advice?!

Ky: "I know but all I can do is fake confidence for now, it's hard for me to feel confident around people I don't know well, especially girls, unless they piss me off."

Ki: "Still it's not like you have to act like you have everything figured out, just don't go being a downer like usual, be more optimistic, smile more, make some jokes even if they're lame and just over all try and exude a more positive aura."

Ky: "…I see, thanks."

Kyousuke headed for the door, patting Kirino's head on the way before stopping.

Ky: "I'll bring you back something really good, so don't go to sleep too early."

With that Kyousuke left Kirino alone in the dorm.

Ki: Haah, as much as I hate the idea of Kyousuke having a girlfriend, I wouldn't do anything irrational to stop him, I may be hopelessly in love with that idiot but I won't get in the way of him finding love with someone else. I care about his happiness, even if I can't be part of it…unless it's with glasses bitch, then that's when I'll resort to murder.

For the rest of the evening Kirino sat in the dark with Mochi watching a romance anime movie with a sad ending. At around 11:00 Kyousuke came in carrying a bag with Kirino's food, though his face looked…normal, like he just came back from a pleasantly productive day at work or something.

Ky: "Hey, I'm home."

Ki: "W-Welcome home, how was it?"

Ky: "It was nice actually, Amy was really sweet, she and I have a lot in common, we already agreed on a second date."

Kyousuke then sat on the couch next to Kirino and pulled out two to-go boxes and handed Kirino one.

Ki: "What's that?"

Ky: "Leftovers, I was so focused on Amy I sort of forgot to eat my food before it got late but hey, at least you won't have to eat alone."

Ki: "…Hm, yeah."

Ki: And eventually I'll always be eating alone.

The following day being a Sunday, Kyousuke and Kirino decided to make the trek back to Chiba to visit their parents for the day, though Amy decided to come along.

Ki: "Why's she coming? Don't you think it's a bit too soon for her to meet the parents?"

Ky: "Well she's not, she has some relatives in Chiba, she actually visits them regularly so she's technically not coming with us, rather we're both going the same direction."

Ki: "Oh but are you still going to be seeing each other?"

Ky: "Maybe, though not at our house, I already made plans with my friends to hang out as soon as we get off."

Ki: "I see…hey, uh, do you mind if I t-tag along?"

Ky: "Huh? Seriously? You do know Manami will be there too?"

Kirino flinched at her name but quickly composed herself.

Ki: "Yeah but I got nothing better to do."

Ky: "You're not going to attack her, are you?"

Ki: "No."

Ky: "You promise?"

Ki: "…Yeah, yeah."

Ky: "Good~"

After reaching Chiba the siblings and Amy met with Manami and Kouhei at the station.

Ko: "Whoa, Kyousuke, you were actually telling the truth?!"

Am: "Hello, it's good to meet you, my name is Amy Tanaka."

Ko: "Amy with a Y or an I?"

Am: "Um, with a Y."

Ko: "Wow exotic, well my name is Kouhei Akagi."

Ma: "And my name is Manami Tamura, it's good to meet you."

Ki: Strange, I thought Manami had feelings for Kyousuke, I expected her to be more torn up about it but she seems practically indifferent, maybe she's just a good actor.

They headed off to their usual arcade though Kirino didn't do much interacting with anybody but Kyousuke, though she did observe Manami and Amy the whole time. Manami continued to act strangely indifferent and Amy continued to just be normal though fortunately for Kirino, her and Kyousuke didn't act very lovey dovey, they didn't even hold hands.

Ky: "Haah, that was fun."

Am: "Yeah, I've never been to an arcade like that."

Ko: "Seriously, I thought you visited family around here often."

Am: "Yeah but most of my friends aren't really into arcades and I've only ever been to the big flashy ones in the city on occasion."

Ma: "Well then we should hang out next weekend and we can go again."

Am: "That sounds great!"

Ky: "Welp here's your place Amy."

With the afternoon getting late, Kyousuke walked Amy to the front door while the rest of the group waited at the gate though while Kouhei was distracted by something on his finger Kirino grabbed Manami and pulled her out if his earshot, she planned on doing something she never thought she'd do…talk to her.

Ma: "Kirino?"

Ki: "Hey, uh, T-Tamura, I wanted to ask you something."

Ma: "Um, okay, what is it?"

Ki: "…How do you feel about Kyousuke and Amy, about them…dating?"

Ma: "…W-Well I was definitely surprised at first but I thought she was nice."

Ki: "S-So you're not jealous or anything?"

Ma: "Why would I- O-Oh, did you think I had a c-crush on Kyou, n-no I don't, I mean, I like Kyou and if he did ask me out, I would definitely say yes, it's just I don't exactly feel that strongly for him, I do find him attractive but I just think maybe I should meet other guys before I decide how I really feel about him you know? Eheheheh."

Ki: "Oh, I see…well do you think they're a good match?"

Ma: "I can't say for sure, they seem to like each other but it's too soon to tell…um, I don't mean any disrespect but, Kirino? …Are you maybe jealous of Amy?"

Ki: "N-NO! I just don't trust her, I don't think Kyousuke is a terrible guy, it just seems too out of nowhere."

Ma: "I see, well maybe you're right but Kyousuke needs to find that out for himself."

Ki: "Huh?"

Ma: "Heartbreak…is something everyone has to go through at least once in their lives, so maybe it's best to just let things run their course and if it ends badly, then you can be there to comfort him."

Ki: "…"

Ko: "Hey girls let's go!"

Ma: "Coming."

Kirino and Manami caught up with the boys though Kyousuke looked at her questioningly.

Ky: "Were you actually talking to Manami?"

Ki: "O-Oh, u-uh, I was just teasing her a little about being jealous of you and Amy."

Ky: "Come on, don't be mean."

Ki: "Sorry."

The group continued further on the street before splitting off.

Ko: "Alright we're going this way, see you guys later."

Ma: "Bye."

Ky: "Yep, later."

Ki: "…So how do you feel about Amy so far?"

Ky: "Dunno, she's cute and we really harmonize, even after I told her about the misunderstanding and how I'd still date her for a little to protect her reputation, maybe it can work out with her but I still need more time with her."

Ki: "So you're not worried that she might be playing you?"

Ky: "Well yeah, I'm making sure to keep an eye out for that but I don't want to be so suspicious that I end up alienating her and she goes and tells everyone that I'm a creepy jerk. Besides she hasn't aroused any suspicion so far."

Ki: "Haah, well…as long as you're happy."

Day of the Match

Am: "I know you've got this Kyou!"

Ki: "Kyou?"

Ky: "Thanks, fwhoo."

Ki: "Remember Kyousuke, just because he's in the top ten doesn't mean he's above you."

Am: "Yeah, it's like a game of rock, paper, scissors, you're paper and he's rock, all you have to do is melt through all his earth and stone and he'll stand no chance."

Ky: "Yeah."

Am: "…Why are you so quiet?"

Ki: "Because he's terrified, which is fine, it's better acknowledge your fear now than to bottle it up behind a façade of bravery and let it explode out in the middle of the battle."

Am: "Well I don't think so, you have to chase away the fear and put on a brave face."

Ki: "No, he needs to handle his fear but remain confident so he's more careful with his strategy."

Am: "No, he needs chase away his fear and be brave so he can be more confident in his executions."

Ky: "Or you both can leave so I can get my head straight because your arguing is starting to stress me out."

Ki: "Yeah, yeah-"

Am: "Why do you have to be so mean?"

Ki: "Well if you're going to be dating him, you better get used to his snark, come on let's go find a seat."

Kirino grabbed Amy's wrist and led her out of the stadium locker room.

Ky: "…Hhiiiih, haaaah."

Kyousuke proceeded to put his helmet on and head out, he goes through the double doors and out onto the main field where Izayoi and the moderator were waiting, the stadium seats were filled most of the way. Kirino and Amy are already seated next to Arika while Ryu and his group as well as Akihiko with his fly girl Hoshi were sitting on the opposite side.

Iz: "Welcome to my battlefield Kousaka, where everything you stand on is my weapon."

Ky: "…"

"Are both combatants ready to start?"

Ky: "Yeah."

Iz: "Ready to finish it too."

Ry: "So leader, mind telling me why you're here?"

Ak: "Just came to see why you're going against my orders, I thought I told everyone to leave the Kousakas alone."

Ry: "Yeah sorry about that but I still don't get why, every other top rank, we harassed relentlessly but all of a sudden you want to go easy on this guy?"

Ak: "That's because he isn't like the others, he's…harder to manage."

Ry: "What does that mean?"

Ak: "It means he's dangerous, if we don't handle him properly he could bring our entire empire crumbling down before we can even lay the first brick."

Ry: "How so?"

Ak: "Well for one thing doing what you did, pissing him off and letting him get stronger. If our plan is going to be successful we need to make sure Kyousuke doesn't get in our way or better yet, get him to join us."

Ry: "You really think so?"

Ak: "Yeah, just watch."

The moderator took his position at the edge of the field as the shield projectors set up the walls.

"Yeah Izayoi, kick that Chiba dirtbag's ass!"

"Come on newbie, you got this!"

"Three…two…one, begin!"

{Whack!}

Before Kyousuke could make a move a large stone spike jutted up from the ground and struck him in the face, knocked him on his ass, then before he could get back up, the ground opened up beneath him and swallowed him up all the way to his neck.

"Ten, nine-"

{Boom!}

Thinking fast, Kyousuke created an ice bomb to blow himself out of the ground and as soon as he landed, he began to freeze the ground as fast as he could until the entire field was frozen solid.

Iz: "Hohooo~ looks like you did your research, earth elementals have a more difficult time moving earth if it's cold, for some it's even impossible to move if it's frozen solid."

Ky: "Well, given that over confident tone in your voice, I take it you have something up your sleeve."

Iz: "Can't get anything past you can I? You know, when you transferred you really intrigued me, well your powers anyway, having control over a cosmic force like temperature goes beyond anything us feeble elemental superhumans wield."

Ar: "Oh god, is he monologuing?"

As Izayoi was talking, Kyousuke looked around in confusion as the field began to melt outside of his control

Iz: "It really pisses me off that such a tremendous power fell into the hands of a little scrub like you, just imagine all the amazing things that could've been done for the world if it were in the hands of someone more capable. So I thought 'why not me?', soooo…I just did it…I've mastered a new elemental technique, vibration control."

Izayoi then waved his hand and the ground began to glow beneath Kyousuke before-

{BOOM!}

An explosion erupted at Kyousuke's feet, sending him flying.

Ar: "Whoa, copy cat?!"

Ki: "But how?!"

Ky: "Augh, shit."

Ak: "Interesting, you decided to beat the enemy at his own game."

Ry: "Yeah it was Izayoi's idea, said something about physics and thermodynamics or whatever and figured out how to control the temperature of earth then he studied Kousaka's fighting style and figured out how to copy some of his moves."

As he was lying on the ground, Kyousuke tried to get back up but was unable to as he noticed that he was frozen to the ground.

Ky: "What the-"

Iz: "Now, you aren't the only thermal manipulator."

Izayoi quickly lifted a large stone over Kyousuke's head but just as he sent it rocketing downward Kyousuke broke free of the ice and rolled away.

{Crash!}

Though before he could get back to his feet the ground beneath Kyousuke began to glow again before he was caught in another ice explosion.

{Boom!}

Ky: "Augh!"

Kyousuke was sent slamming up against the wall, then just as he lifted his head he saw a bunch of large stones flying toward him like homing missiles. With just a half-second to spare Kyousuke was able to dodge all the stones though just as he did the ground beneath his feet froze solid and smooth causing him to slip and fall.

Ky: "C-Crap!"

{Thud}

Though while it looked like he was falling Kyousuke took the chance to fake helplessness and took aim with an already charged Thermal Rifle x10 and fired it at Izayoi's knee.

{FwshBang!}

{Crack!}

Iz: "AAAAahaaahaah!"

Izayoi double over in pain as his health went down by a fifth, giving Kyousuke an opening to get back up and rush him. He built up a half charge Thermal Impact but just as he was close enough to fire it, a large spike of earth shot up from the ground and hit him in the face.

{Wham!}

His Thermal Impact misfired, most of its energy sent up into the air.

Iz: "That really hurt YOU PIECE OF SHIT!"

Almost like a canon the earth spike opened up and fired a powerful blast of steam and debris right into Kyousuke's face, sending him once again flying backwards.

Am: "Kyousuke!"

Kyousuke laid on his back, dazed and unable to get up.

Ky: "Shit, this is Ryu all over again."

Before Kyousuke could recover Izayoi lifted a mass of earth in the air and began to churn it with heat until it was a semi-molten and glowing sphere.

Iz: "Time to end you."

Izayoi then dropped the glowing sphere onto Kyousuke using it to pick him up and engulfing him in it.

Ky: "Whoa, whoa-mfmf!"

Iz: "Let me show you a new trick I learned with thermal manipulation, Iron Earth Forge!"

Izayoi then isolated the iron in the earth, covering the entire surface of the sphere in a thick layer then applying pressure until it was completely packed then rapidly cooling it until the iron solidified then further freezing it until it was completely solid before finally letting it drop to ground.

{Thonk!}

"Whoa, uh, ten, nine-"

Am: "Kyousuke, don't give up."

As the moderator was counting down, Izayoi noticed a faint glow on the frozen metal sphere.

"four, three-"

{FFFFFFwiiiBOOM!}

Just then the glowing spot on the iron sphere exploded outward in Izayoi's direction but he managed to dodge the blast.

Iz: "What the hell?!"

Molten earth spilled out of the sphere as it quickly began to melt and Kyousuke easily pulled it apart to rise out of it.

Ky: "Gah! I almost suffocated."

Iz: "Hmheheh, looks like I need to give you even more of a beating!"

Izayoi then lifted several spikes of earth and sent them flying at Kyousuke at high speed but Kyousuke ran at them unabated dodging some and using thermal blasts to destroy the rest. Izayoi then tried to initiate an ice bomb but Kyousuke was able to see his tell and countered it by heating the ground before it could freeze while at the same time charging a thermal rifle x5.

Iz: "Oh yeah, well right back at ya!"

Izayoi quickly formed several cylinders from earth, filled them with ice and they began to rapidly spin up.

Iz: "Thermal Salvo."

Just as they fired Kyousuke pulled out a thick piece he took from the iron sphere and used it as a shield.

{Babababang!}

The iron managed to absorb the force of the attack then without wasting another second Kyousuke threw aside the makeshift shield, took aim and fired at Izayoi's right hand.

{FwshBang!}

Iz: "AGH!"

The hit was successful and Izayoi's hand became dislocated and disabled, taking out another eighth of his health.

Iz: "Son of a, aaaahahahah!"

As Izayoi was reeling in pain, Kyousuke charged forward with another thermal rifle charge.

Ky: "Time to end you mud puppy."

Iz: "Grrrrr, AS IF!"

With just his left hand Izayoi lifted another earth spike to strike Kyousuke in the face but he managed to dodge but then another spike shot out of the previous one and hit Kyousuke in the stomach causing him to lose focus and his thermal rifle misfired. Then as he was stunned Izayoi brought up a series of earth spike each one hitting Kyousuke in the face and pushing him backward before, all the way until he was back on the opposite side of the field. Izayoi then melted down what was left of the iron sphere and used it to bind Kyousuke then molded the earth around Kyousuke to further hold him down, finally Izayoi pushed himself to his limit as he lifted his entire half of the field, packed it tightly together into a massive block, before freezing it solid and sent it hovering over to Kyousuke.

Ry: "Heh, no way he's getting out of this."

Ki: "Kyousuke, come on, do something!"

Ky: "I'm trying!"

Ar: "Pull out your cock and use it as a welder!"

Ky: "Stay out of this Arika!"

Am: "Kyousuke!"

Iz: "Hm, now die."

{Crash!}

Izayoi dropped the block on top of Kyousuke causing the entire stadium to shake and sent a gust of wind blowing throughout the area, after that Izayoi proceeded to freeze the block over until it was completely covered.

"Ten, nine-"

Iz: "Hehe, looks like skinny boy was nothing but flash, in only a few months I surpassed this little shit dick, goes to show how inferior the Kousaka blood is, that Amy girl must be a real dumbass for falling for a guy like you?"

Ki: "Come on Kyousuke, this is for Mochi."

Ry: "So, Aki? What do want to do after thi-"

Ak: "Look."

Ry: "Huh?"

"Three, two-"

{Rumble}

The block began to shift a little signaling the moderator to once again stop his countdown.

Iz: "Guh, h-heh, you can go ahead and try to burn your way out of there but I'll just freeze you before you can."

{Crack!}

The block then seemed to rise upward slowly, beginning to break away from the ice holding it down.

Iz: "N-No way."

Am: "Whoa."

Ki: "That thing has to be at least five hundred tons, how is he lifting it?"

Ak: "This is why I told you to leave him alone."

Ry: "What?"

Ak: "This is how Kyousuke isn't like the others, he's not the type you can kick down and expect to stay down, no matter what we do he'll just keep getting back up, not because of some misguided determination but simply out of spite. We could bully him, forge his grades to make him fail, mentally torture him in every way we could think of but that'll just piss him off and make us into his targets, this way he'll eventually reach the top and knock me down, completely ruining our past two years of planning."

Ry: "But how is he lifting that thing?!"

Ak: "Simple, because of you, you pushed him and now he's figured out a new capability that was right in front of his face but he likely would have been too ignorant to notice until much later. He's indestructible therefore his muscles cannot break, so as long as he can push past his natural mental limiters, his physical strength is literally unlimited. You just helped Kyousuke realize…that he's physically the strongest man on Earth."

Ry: "…"

The block further rose until the ice around the bottom broke away completely, revealing Kyousuke's violently shaking body barely lifting the whole mass, the ground around his feet was reinforced with ice but still caved beneath the weight.

Ky: "PFFFFFFFFKKKK."

Kyousuke's face was red and puffed out, he could barely breath as he lifted the massive weight, if he didn't drop it soon, he would give out and once again be crushed by it.

Iz: "You're wide open!"

Izayoi surrounded Kyousuke with several ice filled earth cylinders, primed to fire.

Iz: "Thermal-"

Just as they were about to fire, Kyousuke quickly shifted his stance, his body now still as he tensed every muscle to their max.

Ky: "GRAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Kyousuke moved the block towards Izayoi and every muscle in his body exploded as he threw the giant object at Izayoi, once he saw this Izayoi quickly dropped the cylinders to catch it. He had already used up too much stamina at this point and it was taking everything he had left just to keep the block in the air. With this chance, Kyousuke charged up a thermal attack as high as it would go, concentrating as much heat energy as possible into a single point. This concentration caused ice to develop on every surface around him, including the light walls and his own body, then with what little stamina he had left he aimed the charge at Izayoi and created a thermal projection cylinder around the charge ten feet long rotating so fast that it kicked up a large amount of wind sending ice crystals flying everywhere.

Ky: "Thermal…CANNON!"

{VvVvViiiBOOM!}

The recoil thrust Kyousuke back off of his feet though before he fired Izayoi had just managed to inch the block away enough that it wouldn't fall on top of him then he dropped the block at just the right moment so as to intercept the cannon. Instead though the shot melted through the block without slowing down and proceeded to hit Izayoi in the torso with tremendous force.

{SHATTER! CRASH!}

The shot had sent Izayoi crashing through the light wall and then the stadium wall, his HP was completely wiped out and seeing that he won, Kyousuke…

Ky: "…{Snoooore}."

Fell asleep, frozen on his feet.

{BWEEEE! BWEEEE!}

Suddenly the stadium screen went red and an alarm began to blare through the stadium as four large turret guns rose from the ground outside the battlefield and began to spray Kyousuke and Izayoi with an instantly hardening cement foam, totally immobilizing them despite both of them being unconscious.

Am: "W-What's happening?!"

Ar: "Obvious, Kyousuke broke Izayoi's HP shield, anytime that happens the match is immediately shut down and both combatants subdued."

Ki: "That shot was that powerful? No wonder he fell asleep, that must've cost all his stamina."

Several men in armored suits then came out of the field doors and quickly broke Kyousuke and Izayoi out of the cement before collaring them both, loading them into stretchers and carrying them off. Once that was done the moderator pulled out a microphone and addressed the audience as his voice boom through the stadium speakers.

"Attention everyone, though Kyousuke Kousaka breaking Izayoi Minamoto's HP shield is considered a grave violation of duel conduct and would normally be an offence punishable by expulsion. I judge his actions as unintentional, therefore, Kyousuke Kousaka is deemed the victor of this match and the new ninth rank!"

The crowd went into a frenzy, some booing the decision while others cheered for their new favorite underdog.

"Boo! Eat a dick, you don't know what you're talking about."

"What are YOU talking about, a badass like him totally deserves ninth rank."

As this was going on Kirino, Amy and Arika made their way out of the stadium to go see Kyousuke in the infirmary where he still lied fast asleep. Amy was worried but Kirino wasn't while Arika just sat there playing on her phone.

Ki: "What's up with you Arika? Kyousuke's unconscious, I figured you'd be trying to feel him up by now."

Am: "Eh!?"

Ar: "Hey I may be a slut but I'm no homewrecker…at least not intentionally, Amy here took Kyousuke off the market so now I have to find some other loser to harass."

Am: "Haah~"

Just then Kyousuke began to move.

Am: "Oh, he's waking up."

But he wasn't, instead he just mumbled in his sleep a little before turning over and accidentally grabbing Kirino's boob, leaving everyone in silent shock.

Ky: "haagh~ {squeeze, squeeze} Mochi~"

Maintaining her disgusted look, Kirino slowly grabbed the wrist of Kyousuke's offending hand and painfully twisted it.

Ky: "AAAAHAHAHA!"

With that Kyousuke immediately woke up to a pissed off sister.

Ky: "Owchie~"

Ki: "Hmph."

Am: "You okay?"

Ky: "Yeah, nothing I'm not used to, jeez what's up with this collar."

Ki: "This is what's up."

Kirino handed Kyousuke a paper that one of the school admins told her to give to him once he had woken up.

Ky: "Hmm, let's see."

So Kyousuke pulled out his fake reading glasses and looked at the paper.

"Dear Mr. Kousaka

This is a warning from the Tokyo Hero Academy administration involving your actions in your previous dual with an Izayoi Minamoto, during the battle you inadvertently broke through his HP shield which could've potentially threatened his life. Because this event was accidental you will only be given a warning but should something like this happen again, you will be severely punished and should it happen a third time, you will immediately be expelled, so be sure wield you powers more carefully in the future so as to avoid this."

Ky: "Huh, well it's not like I meant to do it anyway."

Ki: "Then next time don't be an idiot."

Ky: "So I take this to mean that I won right?"

Am: "That's right and now you're the new ninth rank, putting you in the top ten and eligible to move to the top rank's mansion!"

Ky: "Hooraaay~"

Re: "Though that likely means you'll have more challengers in the near future, possibly one of the other top ten."

Am: "Ah!"

It was then Renji appeared out of nowhere, startling Amy.

Re: "I even predict that Ryuu may be you're next high ranking opponent. But I suggest you take it easy for now, we still have things we have to prepare before we face Akihiko."

Ky: "Gotcha, heh, I might as well enjoy my vacation from work while I can."

Re: "Sounds good."

Renji teleported away while Amy looked at Kyousuke questioningly.

Am: "You have a job?"

Ky: "Yeah but they gave me a paid vacation for a couple of weeks after I stopped a burglar from cleaning us out."

Am: "Wow that's amazing."

Ky: "Agh, Kirino?"

Ki: "Huh?"

Ky: "You think you could carry me back to the dorm? Every movement I make is total agony, all my muscles are aching like I got manhandled by Donkey Kong."

Ki: "Haah, Amy can you grab some painkillers before we go?"

Am: "Um, sure."

So after getting Kyousuke's collar removed they retired to their dorms and Kirino plopped Kyousuke onto his bunk.

Ky: "Agh, thanks."

Ki: "So you have superstrength now huh?"

Ky: "Yeah, turns out I had it the whole time, realized it after figuring out that since I'm indestructible, so are my muscles ergo unlimited strength, though seems the downside is that after over exerting my strength I get severe muscle pain."

Ki: "It also looks like you figured out a new move, Thermal Cannon, I admit it was actually pretty cool."

Ky: "Yeah, honestly I've been able to use that move for a while now but outside of this one battle it's completely useless."

Ki: "Useless?! The damned thing sent one of the THA top ten flying through two high strength barrier walls and initiated HP Shield failsafe protocol, that thing is a beast!"

Ky: "Yeah but it takes too long to charge and it's almost impossible to aim since the shot requires in incredibly long barrel to properly spin up and I can't move during the whole process because I need to put all of my focus into it or else the whole thing falls apart and I have to start over again. But the worst part of all is that it completely drains me of any stamina I have causing me to immediately fall asleep from exhaustion."

Ki: "Wow when you put it like that it does sound useless, with Izayoi trapping himself on that one spot after lifting up his entire side of the field along with being too preoccupied with that block you threw at him to perform any kind of counterattack, it really was the perfect moment to whip out that finishing move."

Ky: "So don't expect me to use it again any time soon, ugh jeez, well anyways, I need to take a nap, so no hoes allowed."

{Smack!}

Ky: "Agh~"

Ki: "Don't call ME a ho, jackass! Hmph."

Kirino then walked out leaving Kyousuke to fall asleep in peace.

Ky: "Huh, what was up with Arika."

After a few days of recovery, the siblings packed their bags and moved into their new room in the top rank's mansion.

Ki: "Whoa."

Ky: "Hot damn!"

Am: "This is amazing, I never thought I'd get to set foot in the THA Mansion!"

Ar: "Meh, you've seen on mansion, you've seen them all, just a big house full of empty rooms."

The mansion looked like a basic western brick style with a grand entryway, surrounded by a well landscaped garden.

Ky: "Well let's go inside."

The group stepped through the door and into the foyer with a classic grand staircase leading to the second floor and many doors and pathways around it leading to various parts of the mansion, they ascended the stairs and took the right hallway passing many landscape paintings and portraits of old alumni and senior staff, they even passed a portrait of Shuichi Sosuke which Kirino took a quick picture with. At last they reached their assigned dorm. The inside was like a small luxury apartment just a few steps down from the CHA penthouse, two large bedrooms, each with king sized beds, top of the line PCs and in suite toilets. Then there was the large bathroom with a full immersion tub big enough to fit three people and a couple of shower heads for stool showering. There was a kitchen but it was pretty basic, though it came fully stocked with dry ingredients and several expensive high-end appliances, then there was the balcony, very spacious, enough room to hold a small party on. The living room was well furnished with a large wrap around couch wide enough to comfortably sleep on, a coffee table that could be converted into a kotatsu…that would be useless in the oncoming Spring and big ass HD TV that hung on the wall fully decked out with consoles and games.

Ky: "I hate it."

Ki: "What are you talking about this place is awesome!"

Ky: "There isn't a hot tub."

Ki: "Haah, you and your damn hot tubs."

The girls went in to explore while Kyousuke plopped himself on the couch and flipped on the tv.

Ky: "Haah back in luxury."

Am: "Wow this place is so fancy, hey Kyousuke you think I could stay overnight sometime?"

Ky: "Sure but I'm going to have to buy a sleeping bag first."

Am: "What do you mean?"

Speaking rhetorically Amy then proceeded to sit down beside Kyousuke, getting really close, surprising him.

Am: "I was thinking we could share your bed."

Ky: "Uh, d-don't you think it a little early in our relationship to be sharing a bed?"

Am: "Awe, you're so cute when you're being proper."

Kirino couldn't help but noticed how close Amy was getting to her brother now, so she went off to the balcony so she wouldn't have to see. From there she could see the large beach entry pool landscaped to look like an oasis, complete with a sandy beach, a couple of palm trees and a cabana, unfortunately there wasn't a hot tub there either.

Ki: "Hm, poor Kyousuke~"

Then she looked over at the garden filled with a variety of beautiful plants, small trees and a gazebo, the rest of the yard was just lawn and a few large shade trees, giving plenty of space for various other activities.

Ar: "So, bet you're feeling pretty cock blocked right now, though for a woman it would be getting blocked from a cock."

Ki: "Can't you go be dirty somewhere else?"

Ar: "Not until four, but if you're planning on breaking them up, take it from me, don't, always ends badly for everyone."

Ki: "I'm not planning to…Kyousuke chose her…so all I can do is be happy for him."

Ar: "Wow, didn't take you for the mature type, most girls I know your age would've went all psycho yandere and broke them up by any means necessary, including but not limited to murder."

Ki: "Come on, I'm better most girls, I'm prideful and maybe a little greedy but I'm not selfish, I'm always thinking of the wellbeing of others, especially that idiot."

Ar: "Yeah…though, it's not like anyone else is going to."

Ki: "No, it won't be long before he has someone else looking after him."

Ar: "Nah, that Amy girl is temporary, you heard Kyousuke, he's only dating her out of courtesy."

Ki: "Maybe but eventually Kyousuke will find a girl he actually likes and I'll just be stuck on the sidelines, I'm his sister after all, there's no way he'll ever see me as anything but that."

Ar: "Then why don't you just tell him yourself?"

Ki: "Obviously I can't, he would totally freak out!"

Ar: "Would he? Sure it may shock him at first but he did admit to you that he wanted to marry you."

Ki: "Yeah if I wasn't his sister."

Ar: "Well think, that's all that's stopping him, if you just break down that barrier and tell him you're cool with doing the wincest tussle, then he'll be all over you."

Ki: "…As if I could just tell him."

Ar: "Hey, personally I don't care one way or the other, I'm just trying to help a girl out, though if you're not going to do anything than that means your boy's chastity is up for grabs and I fully intend on grabbing it."

Ki: "Oh like hell you will!"

Ar: "Oh? What are you going to do about it? Eventually Kyousuke is going to break and all it'll take is one particular day when he can no longer handle not feeling the wet, encompassing warmth of a woman and he'll be all mine. Though if you don't want that to happen, you'll have take it yourself or at the very least set him up with a girl you like that will."

Ki: "…Fucking bitch."

Later that evening Renji came over and Kyousuke and Amy made dinner for everyone.
