Tsunade is back!

Tsunade´s coronation day was a date to remember no doubt. Her speech about raising up against the challenges in life and being able to stand again even after defeat was quite emotive and fitting for the current state of Konoha. Her words about cooperation with other villages however, while endearing for the populace, were not so welcomed by the hardliners of the civilian council… But The new Hokage didn´t give a flaying shit about them.

The first council meeting was a show. Everyone boot-liked the Senju name to gain her favour, when some booze would have done the trick easier. Then Tsunade had pushed forward revaluation of the Shinobi programs all together, especially the academy standards, as well as the inclusion of a new and more specialised combat medic program.

There is no need they say, there is no money they said. So Tsunade told them that in that case only the non-clan ninja and the hospital staff would work for those against her designs.

"You can´t do that! That´s discrimination!"

"Yet I am the head of a military dictatorship and you refuse to obey me…" Tsunade never ended her threat. There was no need. So her rulings were accepted or imposed. As Hinata liked to joke about: "Semantics! That is the key to ruling those idiots. Ask when you order and say please instead of or else…"

But all those matters, as interesting as they were, paled in comparison of those awaiting for the next meeting… After enforcing some new changes, adding Sarutobi as one of the elders for example, Tsunade allowed the rest of the council to voice either concerns or suggestions before dropping the serius stuff on them.

"Senju-sama, This council is concerned with the current state of Konoha! We can´t allow Kumo, ally or not, to keep the Uzumaki from us! They belong to us, always have! They must be returned as well as their riches…"

"You mean the riches you haven´t already stole right?" interrupted Tsunade.

"Senju-sama. I am sure that you understand the need to relieve them of their material possessions in order to rebuild! It was done to reconstruct Konoha after the Kyubi attack and shall be done again! If they are the loyal allies they say they are then, they must do their duty. Willingly or not!"

Tsunade laughed. Hard. And as she continued laughing the civilian council and some of the minor clans grinned. This Hokage would agree with them unlike the demon loving old monkey.

"It is clear to me that you have done your job quite diligently. You ransacked the Uzumaki accounts as soon as you heard that Kushina was reported dead. You also plundered all the Uzumaki properties except the clan compound and have tried to gain access to it for years… Very well done." Said a grinning Tsunade.

"Now, being the generous Hokage that I am…" Started Tsunade to the elation of the council. Yet some of the older ninjas where quite aware that the shit was about to hit the fan.

"… I am going to track the money and properties taken, do a follow up and decide how much money some of this council owes me. As I am magnanimous and benevolent like no one, I will probably forgive part of that debt or organize some kind of plan to not ruin you too much…" Her smile was feral.

"Bu-but Tsunade…"

"That is Hokage-sama you buffoon!" Tsunade rose from her chair and crossing her arms started pacing around her desk. All of that while glaring at the greedy idiots around her.

"Have you forgot who I am? Who my ancestors are?"

"You are the granddaughter of the first Hokage. The last Senju!" Started elder Koharu Utatane.

"Yes, and also the granddaughter of his wife. Mito Senju-Uzumaki, first Jinchuriki of the Kyubi no Yoko. The clan you plundered is my clan, the home you burned was my niece´s. The very child you abused is my goddaughter. So NO. The Uzumaki will not pay for your debauchery no more. You owe a big shit debt to the royal family of whirlpool country. Personally I prefer to solve this without ruining no one, as the Uzumaki don´t need the money right this instant… but hear me and hear me well. My goddaughter owns you, she can ruin this village just by claiming your debts. And don´t make me start with the consequences of involving the Daimyos." Tsunade snorted.

"Henceforth all of you will be in your best game. I don´t care who you are or your previous achievements. As I study the finances of this village I will prepare a way to return the owned money without ruining us. But you can forget about your lavish lifestyles. Most of the properties the clan has no interest in, but money, scrolls and heirlooms will be tracked and taken back. Don´t force me to get T&I involved cuz I will!" Promised the blonde.

"Now! On other urging matters! It has been decided that a squad consisting in Konohamaru Sarutobi, Moegi Utatane, Udon Mitokado and Hanabi Hyuga will be our test run team for the elite Genin program that we are adapting from Kumo´s. Ebisu will be their sensei." Tsunade went back to her chair and pulled some papers from the desk.

"The Genin known as Konoha 12, including Chunin Shikamaru Nara will train with the Kumo team under the supervision of Jonin Mitarashi. They will also take missions together. I will have them learning under all their senseis not just their team captains. I strongly recommend that all our teams start training together to avoid overspecialization."

"The treaties with the Sand are ready, I´ll let you review them and make suggestions, the decisions however are main to make." The new Hokage dropped her documents sighing. "Any other matter you want to address?"

"Yes Hokage-sama. We need to address the fact that we lack a biju of our own. I have some suggestions for that…" Danzo never got to finish his sentence. The new Hokage´s glare shut him up. She was clearly not Hyruzen.

"As you well know adviser Shimura. That matter is already being taking care of." Hissed Tsunade.

"We don´t need a lesser demon! The Uzumaki child is ours by right!" Shouted a minor clan ninja.

"Consider yourself demoted for your stupidity." Said Tsunade as it was nothing.

"Do you consider wise to trust another village to procure us a Jinchuriki? Kumo may be our ally… for now… but to trust them with something so sensitive is…"

"Advisor Shimura…" Interrupted the blonde again. "Is of our shared interest to acquire that Jinchuriki for Konoha. As you well know we can do it with no bloodshed, underhanded tactics or even paying money. You have being personally make privy of the situation as well as the reasons why you can´t train it. So keep your ROOTs out of this matter or there will be hell to pay."

"What are you saying Tsunade? ROOT was disvanded!" Yelled elder Mitokado.

"Are you purposely trying to make me get rid of your job as one of the elders Homura? No? Then kindly shut the fuck up if you are going to speak useless shit in this chambers! I know perfectly well that ROOT is still active. Danzo has been debriefed on the whole Jinchuriki business and his ANBU will be co-managed by elder Sarutobi from now on."

Tsunade was not in a taking shit anymore. One of the ninja commanders asked about the Hyuga clan´s situation. Hiashi told them that all was taken care off and that the traitors would be properly interrogated and executed with no exceptions. Some of the councilmembers started to realize that while Tsunade cared about the lives of all Konoha habitants more than any leader before her, she had no problems with disposing of those who endangered the village.

"Tsunade-sama, would you inform us about the whole Jinchuriki matter today or at a later date?" Asked Shikaku Nara with his head resting in his desk.

"There are a few things to polish yet, but as the matter has been already brought up, I´ll debrief you." Opening a folder Tsunade addressed the council. "Kumo has informed us that the village Hidden in the waterfall is treating their Jinchuriki like you treated Uzumaki-san. Except their leader Shibuki, the whole village is against their Jinchuriki. A young Genin by the name of Fu. Not being one of the great villages their biju is less protected and as they despise it, it is an easy target for the people after the bijus. We are going to offer asylum to young Fu. Just like that."

Hiruzen then continued saying: "Jinchuriki are dependent on their emotions to progress in their control of the biju´s chakra. That's why you are going to treat her like a normal Genin… we don't want to repeat the incident that put us in this situation right?" Venom laced his words, a not so subtle threat filling the room.

"As she is the container of the seven tailed beetle, we were going to ask the Aburame clan to house her when she arrives. Further accommodations or changes will be discussed at a later date." Shibi Aburame nodded in acceptance. "We will send a team and the Kumo squad in a two weeks to retrieve her. Uzumaki san will put a better seal on her a sow her the basics of biju taming. If that is all we will end this meeting here." Proclaimed Tsunade.

Meanwhile, in the Hyuga state.

Hanabi Hyuga in her position of heiress had called for a whole clan meeting. So there she was, sitting in her father´s place, just about to address a fractured clan with no more support that Neji Hyuga at her side.

After some minutes, in which some of the clansmen where asking about where the clan head was, they finally started to quiet and pay attention to the heiress.

"Please listen to me. I will be leading this meeting as my father is attending the Konoha council." Said Hanabi getting the attention of everyone.

"We have started a new age for the Hyuga clan, and as such there are lots of things that need to change. We have just declare the end of the Hyuga branch separation, and banned the use of the caged bird seal. But that is not enough. For this to work more changes are needed and better to keep changing things now than to let us become stagnant and complacent." Hanabi took a deep breath. "That is why, with my father's permission, I called for this meeting to introduce some of the changes that as heiress I can implement. To show the former branch lines that we are serious about change!"

"First of all. I will ask my sister for the very own seal our ancestors turned into the atrocity known as the caged bird and every non sealed Hyuga will be branded with it. Me being the first! All of us will be the same!" The branch members where amazed by the bold girl in front of them while the former main family looked scandalized to say the least.

"Only the skill of an individual will determine how much he or she is taught, Not their heritage! Also, as the branch lines are no more no one should be afraid of seeking a relationship outside the clan. Every person in a relationship between an Hyuga and an outsider will be invited into the clan. Should a Hyuga decide to leave the clan he or she will be sealed so the Byakugan doesn't appear in their offspring but nothing more. Which leads me to the next point." Hanabi signalled Neji to come near her.

"To form an alliance with the Sarutobi clan, and clean our reputation in front of the village, I´m currently starting a relationship with Konohamaru Sarutobi. We are too young to guarantee anything, but we are well aware of our positions as clan heirs. Should we have a successful relationship one of us will have to choose to leave their clan. Or at least to choose another one to bring an heir. Should I have to leave the clan or should something happen to me, I name Neji Hyuga heir." No one was ready for that piece of news, Neji even less.

"WE ARE ONE CLAN, NO MORE SEPARATION AND NO MORE CURSED SEALS! WE WILL BE TOGETHER OR WE WON'T BE!"

Three days later Sarutobi Hiruzen, the two loyal Sannin, the Hyuga clan head and his heirs Hanabi and Neji accompanied the Uzumaki to the forest inside Konoha walls. As well as a platoon of ANBU and a dozen of prisoners including Hiroshi Hyuga and another 3 elders. Karui closing the group.

The Uzumakis, guided them to a place hidden by a powerful barrier.

"Is it here mom?"

"Yes kit, here we are. The Uzumaki Shrine"

"N-chan and I will enter the shrine to collect the item we need. If you must enter… don´t touch anything" Ordered Hinata.

The shrine didn´t appear to be special. In fact it was in quite deplorable state. Yet an ominous aura leaked from the building so only the Sannin and ANBU Cat dared to follow. A few minutes later they reappeared with a scroll and a ghastly looking mask.

"Daughters. The ANBU with the rabbit mask doesn´t have emotions. Is completely blank! I suspect ROOT"

Following the mighty vixen´s directions Hinata whispered their concerns to the new Lady Hokage who, in an instant pinned the agent against the ground and applied a paralysis jutsu.

"Well, he is a ROOT" Confirmed Jiraiya taking a look on the unmasked ninja´s seals. "Guess who doesn´t understand the meaning of not interfering."

Tsunade hummed crossing her arms. "Well, we are going to execute everyone here, what does it matter to add one to the numbers? Let's just leave his body in front of the Hokage tower."

"Tsunade-sama if I may?" Asked Karui. As the older woman nodded she continued saying: "Wouldn´t it be hot to carve on him a message? Something like ROOT traitor or something?" The Lady grinned like a shark.

"ANBU take the gags out of the prisoners and line them up." Ordered Sarutobi.

Naruto approached the ROOT ninja reverently carrying the mask. Meanwhile the prisoners were complaining and trying to buy their freedom agreeing to anything that will see them breathing next sunrise.

"We are ready to start. If anyone wants to say something relevant now is the time." Said Nauto.

Then she carefully put the mask on the fake ANBU and everyone felt the air turn chilly. The now possessed ninja stood up and floating in the air turned to Naruto while a translucent robe started to form around his body. The Shinigami took possession of the offered body. It´s dread inspiring aura chilling the bones of everyone. Hiashi stood in front of his youngest protectively.

"U… ZU… MA… KI…" A voice whispered with the same tune as the desert winds. The Death God´s pupil less eyes somehow staring at everyone present.

"Shinigami-sama. We are here to bargain. We don´t expect you to revive anyone, as that is something you´ll never do. We offer you the souls of this sinners in exchange of the release of our dear ones." Proclaimed Naruto

"WHO…? U… ZU… MA… KI…"

"My father, and my mother's other half" Naruto said unsealing the Kubikiribocho and in a fast movement opened the spirits guts.

"Any last words Hiroshi?" Asked Hinata taking one of Naruto´s short swords.

"All I did, I did it for the clan you stupid child. The Hyuga have always done what was necessary to survive! You have no right!"

"We have every right." Interrupted Hinata. "When the Hyuga joined the village they swore oaths. You betrayed those oaths, and you betrayed me. But your death will release the Fourth Hokage from the Shinigami´s spirit into the pure world." Hinata narrowed her eyes and mercilessly slit his grandfather's throat. "In death fulfil your duties."

Hiroshi´s soul became visible as life abandoned his body and was drawn to the Shinigami who devoured it chuckling ominously.

"Well-p let's get this show rolling!" Said Naruto approaching the terrified prisoners Kubikiribocho in hand.

"How? How can you take a life so easy H-onechan?" Asked Hanabi while Naruto beheaded a sound ninja.

"It is not easy. But I have seen humanity's worst, and taking a life to prevent the darkness from spreading is easier for me now. Also is easier for Kurama-Okasama and N-chan. As we are linked it is easier for me too." Chop! Naruto took another head.

As the forth prisoner died Minato Namikaze´s spirit emerged from the open belly of the Shinigami. The blonde Hokage smiled and nodded to his daughter and in laws before dissipating in thousands of light spots.

"Goodbye father. And rest in peace." Naruto´s tears rushed down her sun kissed face.

"No. NO! It is impossible! Namikaze-sama can´t be the father of the demon child! It is impossible. It simply can´t be!" As soon as he spoke Hinata turned to the Hyuga captive.

"But it is. He truly was an Honourable leader unlike you. He was not going to ask the village to sacrifice a baby when his had just born. He would not ask another to die in his place when it was his duty." Hinata huffed with disdain. "Rejoice! In death you´ll wash your shames." Hinata´s hand slammed against his chest and he was no more.

Hanabi watched in morbid fascination how her sister in law mercilessly took the lives of the condemned. Her father kneeled next to her and, embracing her, offered to show her the confession that Ibiki himself had extracted from the prisoners. To allow her to understand, like her sister did, the length of the depravities humans were capable of. "Is a dark duty to be the executioner, but there are people that cannot be forgiven. There are those who don´t learn from their mistakes, no matter the punishment. For a military leader such as a Hokage or a ninja clan leader, is often part of our duties to condemn others to death. Is never easy, but it must be done."

When the death god swallowed the last spirit a torrent of blood like chakra erupted from his opened guts. The chakra started to dissipate while its corroding properties laid waste in the grass and nearby vegetation. The ninja stepped backwards except the Uzumaki girls. Naruto advanced and embraced the torrent of malevolent chakra. Soon enough her body started absorbing it as her Full henge puffed out of existence and her Biju chakra cloak started to form. 2 tail then 4… and then the second stage came with a pulse of raw chakra, pushing everyone but Hinata.

The chakra started to leak from Naruto and envelop her life-mate as her own first stage chakra cloak enveloped her proudly displaying 3 tails. Naruto´s cloak grew more and more as her body absorbed the disembodied half of her mother. Soon a skeleton like structure grew around the Jinchuriki who´s six tails trashed angrily behind her. Hinata walked next to her and intertwined her clawed hand with that of the minibiju next to her.

The people from Konoha plus Karui watched the two of the float in an angry maelstrom of red chakra. "Is… Is this the power of the Jinchurikis?" Asked Hiashi, who didn´t dare to activate his bloodline afraid of going blind. "Why is also affecting my daughter?"

"When H-chan opened the seal to save N-chan lots of undiluted and not purified Biju chakra entered her network. So Kyubi-sama had two options. Save the girl who was willing to risk her life for her child, turning her into a pseudo Jinchuriki. Or let her be obliterated. So now Hinata has a Kyubi chakra pool inside of her that gets filled just by being close to the real Jinchuriki. As long as she doesn´t use it all it also self-replicates but being near N-chan speeds up the refiling. By the way that is a power unique to the nine tailed one." Explained Karui.

The ANBU where so mesmerized that they lost their impassive demeanour. "It is so beautiful… yet so frightening." Said Cat in a near whisper voice.

"Each Biju has its own power. All of them can manifest it through their mediums. All of them but Kurama-sama. The Ichibi has his control over sand. Blue flames for the Nibi. The four tailed one his memory and lava release. All of them but Kyubi-sama who´s only specific power is negative emotion sensing. But, what truly makes her the most fearsome is that her special power is not a fancy ability but her raw and untameable power. What you are witnessing is just half of her power. And you can´t feel it all as it is being absorbed. Just now that the only reason why you are not sick is because N-chan is protecting you. And if not for the Uzumaki barriers around this place all the ninjas would be rushing here!" Karui sighed. " Quick advice. Don´t try to sense it with any technique or method. It will overload you."

A few minutes later the Shinigami stopped leaking chakra and laughing it disappeared. As there was no more chakra to absorb Naruto and Hinata´s cloaks slowly receded. When the cloak fully dissipated both of them, still spotting feral traits turned back to the group.

"WE ARE COMPLETE!" Three voices said at once. "Enemies of the Uzumaki beware!"

Streets of Konoha, near the Ichiraku ramen stand. That very same afternoon.

Hiashi Hyuga found himself dragged to the Ichiraku ramen shop. Thinking about it… it really was history repeating itself. And the wort part was that the ramen chef was smirking at him. Dam that man! He knew more about Konoha than the intelligence units and the gossipers. It was quite obvious that the cook new who N Uzumaki was and who her parents where. Those two were his best customers no doubt. The blond teleport me some ramen and her wife the ramen-brained red menace. Good times indeed.

"H-onechan. What was that mask."

"Call me H-chan when in public please. That was one of the Uzumaki Masks. One of the most dangerous treasures of the clan." Hinata half-hugged Hanabi. "Acording to Kurama-okaasama, the Uzumaki of old developed their sealing jutsu to the points that they were regarded as sorcerers and witches. In their quest for knowledge of the art, they developed the masks. Once active, those mask give you otherworldly powers at a price. They are so dangerous that no one dared to use them except in the direst circumstances. Most of them take the life of who that wears them. Mother only knows about the Shinigami mask. They used it to develop the dreaded Shiki Fujin! The others… well. Most don't have the chakra to activate them before they take your life in payment."

"Woooooo. Scary… Wait! How does the Ky… er… Kurama-sama know that?"

"Before the age of the Jinchuriki Kurama-sama used to laze around Uzushiogakure. Then she was sealed in Mito Senju-Uzumaki-sama. She was the greatest seal master of her era. So… she kind of picked up some things."

"Well, I can´t say that I am surprised." Said a man entering the ramen stall with Tenten.

"Hi girls!" Tenten blinked seeing the stern Hyuga clan head in a place "too cheap" for someone of his standing. "Er… greetings Hyuga-sama" He nodded in response.

"Yes, there is no doubt. You are Kushina-san´s… Oh Kami above you truly are hers" Said the man as his eyes turned glassy.

"I didn´t say anything! He guessed it on his own! Don´t Chop-chop me!" Begged Tenten covering her neck with both hands.

"She didn´t tell me a thing. She needn´t." The man put his hand on her daughter´s shoulder. "The name is Tetsuo Higuarshi, you already know my daughter."

"Call him Te-san." Shouted old man Ichiraku from the kitchen.

"Well yeah. Te-san yes. I was your mother´s friend and as blacksmith I took care of his equipment." Te took a deep breath and kneeling he said: "I was told that you were dead. That you died that horrible night, yet…" The sobbing man bowed touching the floor with his forehead. "I´m sorry, so sorry child."

Hiashi took pity of the man and helped him straighten himself. He also told him that he was not the only one at fault. Some by being lied to and others with their inaction had failed their deceased friends.

Then Tenten´s father presented Naruto the package he was wearing in his back. Inside a wooden box laid sheathed an elegant sword. Slightly longer than a katana and with a straighter blade, yet it was no ninjato.

"This is your mother´s blade. The Uzumaki Red!" Said the smith with reverence. "Blade of the clan head. Legacy of Uzushio. This blade… this blade is special. She seeks her owner. When you arrived I felt a pull to take her out of the place where I stored her. Your mother left it with me so I could change the guard. I never had the chance to return it. But the blade wishes for you to have it."

Naruto took the black scabbard with wave like patterns and extracted a blood red sword from it. The blade was beautiful in a sense. The blade looked so deadly that it was hypnotic. The swirl like guard was decorated, but in its simple form it was easy to guess the fine materials and the quality of the craftsmanship. The handle had the same kind of beauty.

"Ah… Benihime the crimson princess. I was guessing when she was going to appear. By the way kit, that was the name Kushina used for her. This is a fine weapon. Able to compete with the seven ninja blades of the mist. As far as I know is like the blade is part of her master's body. Tenketsu and all! There is no blade that can conduct chakra like this one, as I said is practically part of your body. It also has other powers but no one knows exactly what they are. It may be indestructible too!"

Naruto sheathed the mighty sword back and looked to the kneeling man in the eyes. "I… don´t know what to say. Thanks for keeping it safe."

"She, keeping her safe. Don´t forget to treat her like a female or she will find ways to punish you. I´m serious! She made me trip with everything until I learned my lesson."

"She also found a way to crash her scabbard against my brother´s and my… testicles when we were in the company of your mother." Confessed Hiashi extracting and awkward chuckle from the rest.

"Had I knew that you were alive I would have adopt you with Tenten! Old Hiruzen will be nursing the bruises I gave him yesterday for quite some time. Just… just thank you for being alive." He was crying at this point.

"Weeeell… I can call you sister form now on!" Said Tenten trying to break the tense atmosphere.

"Oh. OH! I get it!" Said Hanabi hammering one hand with the other. "You are Neji´s teammate right? So, as he is as good as my brother, if you were to marry him you would truly be sisters!" Said an excited Hanabi, mumbling "in law" after her great discovery. Tenten blushed and everyone laughed.
