A/N: Hey guys! Gosh, it's been a spell, hasn't it? Life gets away from you when you move halfway across the country and start a new life and job. Here is the chapter, it was left half-written months ago. I have finished it and am now going to continue writing. I have to reread my notes and chapters to remember what I was doing, but I'll get there. ;)

I blink. The music is faint, but it is there, it wouldn't hurt to try. "Sure." I smile and he smiles back.

He takes my hand and pulls me to the middle of a grassy area with a little space. He pulls me to be right in front of him, he puts his other hand around my waist, pulling me close. I put my free hand around his neck with how close we are and he starts dancing slowly. The dance has a different sway than the waltz I did with Jeff.

Wait a minute, "I thought you didn't like to dance?"

He flusters, "I like to slow dance…"

I blush and continue to sway with him as I listen to the music. He starts to hum along and I look up at him.

He looks down at me. "Do you like to sing?" I ask him after catching his attention.

"I do enjoy it. When my family and I are human again, I want to start a band."

"Can you sing well?"

"I haven't sung around anyone except Rudolph, and he only heard it because I didn't know he was there. So, I don't know if anyone likes my singing."

"Well, sing right now, I can tell you if you sing well." I smile. He looks at me, hesitantly.

"Alright. I'll sing the next song that I know."

"You know modern music?"

"I've watched humans for years, music is very prominent in modern-day."

Before long, a song that Gregory knows starts to play from the side room. I blush as I realize what the song is.

I found a love for me

Oh darling, just dive right in and follow my lead

Well, I found a girl, beautiful and sweet

Oh, I never knew you were the someone waiting for me

I breathe slowly as I take in his singing voice. He can sing really well, it soothes me.

'Cause we were just kids when we fell in love

Not knowing what it was

I will not give you up this time

But darling, just kiss me slow, your heart is all I own

And in your eyes, you're holding mine

I close my eyes as he sings perfectly to the song. I lean my head against his chest as we continue to slow dance under the stars. There is no heartbeat.

Baby, I'm dancing in the dark with you between my arms

Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favorite song

When you said you looked a mess, I whispered underneath my breath

But you heard it, darling, you look perfect tonight

He continues to sing the rest of the song beautifully and I lift my head from his chest and smile. "That was amazing! You can sing really well."

He looks away from my face and if he could I think he would be blushing. "You're just saying that to be nice."

"No, really, you are very good at singing." I smile.

He looks at me and smiles. "You look beautiful by the way. I didn't get to say it earlier on the balcony, but you look gorgeous."

I blush and look away. "Thank you…"

Unknown POV

I shouldn't have done that, I should've taken what she said like a man instead of treating her like that. Maybe I can change her mind, make her fall for me. I wonder where she wandered off to. Did she go home?

Who is that? Why are they in the garden together? Is he… DANCING WITH HER? I'll kill him. She's mine!

.O.O.O.O.O.

Gregory's POV

I shouldn't be doing this. We can never be together. The Comet is only a couple of weeks away and we don't even have the stone.

The next song starts to play.

I feel unnerved. I feel like someone is watching us.

A twig breaks and I freeze. "Jayden, I have to go, someone is coming."

.O.O.O.O.O.

Jayden's POV

"What do you mean someone is coming?" Before I finish my question, he is gone. To where? I don't know. Figures. Alone again.

I hear the sound of someone rushing through the garden. How did he hear that from so far away?

I turn around to see Jeff rushing through the garden toward me.

"Jayden! What are you doing out here alone? Aren't you cold?" Jeff looks concerned.

"I'm fine, I needed some time to myself and the garden looked so beautiful, so I came to explore." I put my shoes back on with a grimace. Another moment with Gregory interrupted.

"Hey, I'm sorry for how I acted earlier. I didn't mean to yell out at you or leave you there. I just got upset because I thought we had something." He rubs the back of his neck with his hand.

I look him up and down cautiously. He looks genuinely upset and resentful. "Alright, I forgive you."

He looks up at me with surprise. "Really?"

"Yes, but next time you leave me alone in a room FULL of people, you are dead to me."

"Yes, ma'am."

"Don't call me that."

"Yes, Jay." I smile and he smiles back. "Do you want to return to the ball or would you like me to take you home?"

"I wanna go home. I'm tired and the crowd is getting to me."

"Okay, come on."

He turns and walks out of the garden and to the mansion. I look around to see if I can spot Gregory, I can feel eyes on me but I can't see him.

I think for a moment, maybe he would be able to hear me?

Gregory? This is still weird.

Yes? I jump and Jeff looks back at me for a second. I laugh and wave at him. "Don't worry, I almost tripped, I'm fine."

"Do you want me to hold your han… uh your arm to make sure you don't fall?"

"No thanks. I'm okay." I smile and he smiles weakly back at me and turns back around leading us to the house.

Meet me back at my house.

Was already going to do that.

I smile at this and shake my head.

I don't trust him. He has an ulterior motive.

Of course he does, he likes me. Don't you also have an ulterior motive?

My head goes silent as we move through the mansion and out the front door to Jeff's car. He opens the door for me to get in.

We head down the road to my house and he parks in front of it.

"I'm sorry again and I hope we can still be friends. I'll see you at school?" He looks over at me.

"Yeah, I'll see you at school." I smile and he smiles back.

Getting out of the car and walking up the driveway to the front door, I open it and hear him drive away.

I am surprised to open the door to a silent house. I look at the clock on the stove. 11:47. That would explain why the house is so quiet.

I tiptoe up to my room and close the door silently behind me once I'm inside. I breathe in relief and close my eyes as I lean against the door.

"You should really check your room before putting your guard down." A voice erupts from the silence.

I jump and get into a karate pose. Gregory is leaning against the balcony doorframe. I give him a death glare. He cocks his mouth into a smirk.

"You really should wait until I open the damn door for you."

He chuckles. "Where's the fun in that?"

I stare at him and move to my closet, take my shoes off, and grab some clothes to change into.

"Get in the closet."

"Uh, why?"

"Because I need to change. So get in." I push him into it and close the door.

"Hey!"

"Stay." I hear a grumble but the door doesn't open back up.

I get out of my dress and let down my hair from its braid. I change into a fuzzy pair of pajama pants and a light graphic t-shirt.

I sit on my bed and cross my legs. "Alright, I'm done."

The door to my closet opens slowly and a head peaks around it. "You sure?"

I chuckle. "Yes."

The door opens the rest of the way and Gregory appears from the darkness of the closet. "I could've just left through the balcony for a little."

"I thought you liked the closet, you sleep in there all the time." I smile devilishly at him.

He narrows his eyes at me. "I don't like it, it's just completely dark in there."

A/N: Songs played in Chapter:

Perfect by Ed Sheeran

Please leave a review if you liked it and to say how I'm doing.
Since this chapter was half-written when I left it, it had a different event happening after the dance and I decided to change it. I did keep it though, I now have a page for Deleted Scenes. Let me know if you want to read that and how you want it. I can make a separate work in the series for it or make another chapter after the original, or I can keep them until I have a few stocked up and send him in a chapter as well. Let me know. :)
Also, let me know if I'm doing well with the songs and what songs you would like to see.
