Chapter 55: The Final – Part Three
Noca and Uub broke from their clash, the sparks fizzing through the sky as the two fighters spun through the air and flipped away, landing back down on opposite edges of the stage. Uub set his feet down on the rim but Noca barely touched down before he started running down across the stage again, aiming to get to Uub. The other fighter noticed and lifted his hand, drawing in Ki and then started to throw the blasts down on the stage, aiming for Noca.
The Saiyan looked up to see the blasts coming down and had to do some acrobatics to avoid them. He darted from side-to-side, avoiding all the blasts. He even had to dive and roll to avoid a few. Once Noca passed halfway across the stage he leapt up and started to fly towards Uub. The blasts were still coming down but Noca flew through, avoiding them and getting to his opponent. He managed to rise up above the human and hammered his fists right down on top of Uub's head. The human fighter didn't expect the strength that came from the attack as it knocked Uub right through the edge of the stage, causing him to fall towards the ground.
Uub managed to power up quickly and stop himself from falling all the way to ground, that wasn't how he would lose, and he blasted right back up towards Noca. He shot in with a punch right towards the Saiyan, but his attack only hit against Noca's cross block, which he quickly broke. Uub was pushed back a little upon the connection break and Noca went in for a jab, right for Uub's face which he narrowly managed to avoid by moving his head. Uub ducked down immediately and punches Noca in the ribs with his left hand. The impact caused a little pain to run up Noca's side and he bent to the side slightly giving Uub the brief time he needed to get back above the Saiyan. Uub got himself into his ideal position and slammed a strong right-handed punch down on Noca's face.
The Saiyan was knocked back towards the but moved and repositioned so he would hit the stage, and instead landed on his feet, but didn't take the time to wait. He bounced right off the ground and went flying straight back towards Uub, but he didn't hit his opponent. He stopped right in front of the human, surprising and confusing him, but all became clear as Noca thrust his hands forward together and they shone before an energy blast erupted from Noca's palms. The attack was explosive and managed to though Uub back through the air at a tremendous pace. It was so fast and powerful that Uub went flying right through one of the big monitors that had been displaying the fight.
The remnants of the destroyed screen fell to the ground. Noca followed the falling debris, temporarily allowing himself to become distracted giving Uub the perfect chance to get back in there. He appeared right next to Noca, having phased at a tremendous speed, and he punched the Saiyan across the face launching him back down towards the stage. Noca couldn't reposition himself or even get control of his own body in the time that he travelled back towards the stage. He had been knocked into a shocking speed and crashed down on the stage, hard. He slid across and stayed down for second, wincing in pain.
Uub was already getting on with his next attack, not wanting to waste any time and let Noca recover too much. The more experienced fighter was powering up the signature Turtle Hermit energy wave, the Kamehameha. The blue energy gathering around Uub's hands and shining onto his face. He wasn't powering it up to an insane amount, so he fired it rather quickly, again, not wanting to waste any time with what he had planned. He unleashed the blast and it soared through the air, down towards the Saiyan as he looked up to see what was coming for him.
Noca cursed to himself as he jumped up quickly and braced himself for impact and threw his hands up just in time. The blast crashed into him, Noca managing to hold it back, but he had ignored something that had happened earlier on. The damage to his arm. It was definitely a fracture and Noca felt so much pain shooting up and down his arm and through his wrist. He grunted as he powered up to strengthen his defence and push back on the blast. He started yelling as he continued to push, doing his best to ignore the pain, but the more he did it the more the pain drew his attention. Noca's defence was weakening and the blast was starting to overwhelm him.
"No…" Noca muttered to himself, closing his eyes and powering out his aura some more. "You can do it, Noca."
He screamed out as he pushed onto the blast more and more. He poured as much into his defence as he could and finally started to feel a shift as he was moving up more. The blast was bending to his will and he may just have a chance of sending it back the way it came. He continued to yell, the pain washing over him, and he clenches his jaw and pulls back a little before firing forward again. He opened his eyes and he finally managed to move the blast. The energy moved away, backing up towards Uub. The human's eyes widened as his blue energy wave was coming back towards him. He dodged to the side as the energy flew off into the atmosphere.
Uub breathed a relieved sigh and looked back down to see Noca stumble back, still affected by the pain in his arm. That was another chance for Uub to get back in there. He powered down and the energy spike drew Noca's attention again. He looked up and saw Uub flying in. He panicked and threw his arms up together in a block and soon found Uub's leg connecting with his arms, just inches from his face. Noca cried out slightly as that hit caused more pain. He winced, letting up on the block and allowing Uub's strength to knock him back down into the stage.
Noca crashed down and bounced away, quickly managing to get back to his feet and throw a blast right towards Uub. The blast flew into Uub's face and exploded knocking him back just a little, but Uub needed to be sure of remaining ahead of whatever came next and jumped back, gaining more distance. As soon as he touched down Noca came flying through the smoke cloud that had formed because of the attack. He managed to be too quick for Uub and smacked a strong right hook across the human's face, bringing that same hand across his face in a backhanded punch. Knowing that Uub was incapacitated enough for Noca to pull off some sort of effective combo and powered in an uppercut with the same hand and upon hitting he continued up, rising above Uub a little and bringing his hands up to the right side of his head and powering an attack, it was clearly reminiscent of how Vegeta powered up the Galick Gun.
Noca fired it down, almost immediately, and it propelled Uub down in the stage. He crashed down and watched Noca drop in trying to catch Uub off-guard with a kick but the human managed to flip up and dodge backwards. Noca hit down on the stage and looked up as Uub had bounced back and was already jumping back in towards Noca. The Saiyan couldn't react in time to avoid the knee that smashed into his face. Noca arched back and then Uub, getting above Noca, punched the Saiyan in the face which was strong enough to knock him into the stage, flat on his back. Noca crashed down and Uub had flipped forward, landing with his knee in the Saiyan's gut. Noca coughed up saliva, and a little blood, as Uub connected, but he didn't lift off of Noca. He stayed in the position and went in for some punches. A couple of right and left hooks pounded across Noca's face as he stayed down. His mouth was cut and there were a few injuries on his face that started to bleed some more and Noca started coughing up blood. Uub smirked as he raised both of his hands, clenched together, above his head and brought them down, hammering into Noca's chest. More blood was coughed up, some getting on Uub's face, and definitely on his hands as they stayed on his chest for a second.
Uub was in a very effective position and knew that Noca could be unconscious with a few more hits here and he raised his hands again but as he did Noca threw his hand up, a small energy blast flying up into Uub's face. It took him completely by surprise, not just because he didn't expect Noca to move, but also because there was a surprisingly high amount of energy in that small attack. It managed to knock Uub off of his feet. He flipped through the air and landed on his front but was up on his feet too quick for Noca again. The Saiyan had leapt up and went in to punch Uub but his fist was caught with ease. Noca had tried to punch with his right hand and Uub caught with his left.
It was only in that moment that Uub clocked on to Noca's lack of use with his left hand. He finally realised the injury was causing a little too uncomfortable for Noca. Uub knew he could use this to his advantage and went to punch with his right. Noca instinctively raised his left to block and as soon as there was a connection, yep, there was more pain. Noca winced again and it caused him to weaken slightly, giving Uub another chance. The human went in with an uppercut with his right and then he kicked out, knocking Noca back off of his feet. Uub didn't allow him to go far as he moved forward, grabbed Noca's head with both hands, and slammed the Saiyan into his rising knee. Noca went back again but Uub grabbed the back of his head with one hand and threw him down into the ground, pushing down, cracking into the stage.
Uub let out the smallest little chuckle but the smirk on his face faded when a little spark appeared around Noca. There was a sudden wave of explosive energy that erupted from Noca as Uub was thrown back off of his feet and Noca rose up into the air, yelling, his aura flaring around him. He dropped his arms by his side and looked back over his shoulder towards Uub. He didn't waste time and flashed towards Uub, smacking a powerful fist across his face, throwing him back again. Noca then phased behind Uub and punched him low in his back. As Uub arched slightly Noca punched him in the back of his head and as Uub was swinging forward Noca grabbed his left and threw him up around in a semi-circle and launched him into the air. He followed up by throwing a strong barrage of blasts up at the human. He finished firing the blasts and as the last of them were crashing against Uub's body Noca flew up above him and performed an overhead kick, knocking him back down into the stage. Uub smashed down on the stage and managed to get a clear enough vision to see Noca dropping in with a kick, he moved quick enough to catch the kick and completely halt Noca's movement.
He used his free hand to throw a Ki blast up into the Saiyan, a blast that exploded upon impact, creating distance between the two fighters. Uub jumped up in front of Noca and immediately threw a blast into the Saiyan's face and that one exploded as well, knocking back down into the stage. He smashed down and twitched slightly, not being able to move right away. His face was bleeding a lot by that point, the cuts would scar if not treated immediately after this fight ended, whenever that would be. The top half of Noca's Gi had been torn significantly as well, with a couple of cuts on his chest.
The Saiyan slowly sat up. He had sensed Uub's power back down a little bit, so he knew that this was a moment for contemplation and reflection. Uub just watched the Saiyan, a glare on his face and resentment in his eyes. Both fighters had been giving it their all in that exchange but Noca was somehow looking worse off. He didn't understand it, believing he had an effective amount of power and should be the stronger of the two. Noca slowly lifted up, getting to his feet, but standing slouched over a little. He was still feeling quite a bit of aching and stinging. Both continued to remain in their own little moments. Uub closed his eyes and began to let his energy swell and build within as he dropped into a small meditative state. He wanted to draw out more power and make sure he continued to give as much as possible. Noca, meanwhile, started to clench and tense, his aura growing his breathing becoming quicker. Both were raising their power, surprising a lot of the audience who didn't expect the two of them to have more inside.
Noca's aura drew in and vanished as he reached the end of his power up and then he opened up, letting out the aura once more and being covered in a brief flash of light. Uub, on the other hand, just opened his eyes and his aura instantly flared up around him. Noca's was golden, and Uub's was pink. Uub was the first to move, flashing forward, phasing right in front of Noca and punching for his face. Noca phased away, managing to avoid that attack and he appeared behind Uub and went in for a kick. Uub ducked forward and kicked back, two-footed, into Noca's gut.
Noca was knocked back and Uub swung around and darted for Noca straight away. He flew in, attempting a right jab but the Saiyan moved his head out of the way, but Uub's follow-up in the form of a left hook struck the side of Noca's face. That surprised Noca and left him open for a punch jabbed into his face. Noca stumbled back as Uub moved forward with a spinning roundhouse kick. The Saiyan managed to throw his arms up into a block but it wasn't enough to drop Uub and Noca was knocked back slightly. The block made it lesser than it could have been but wasn't good enough. The Saiyan did jump forward straight away and dropped in with a punch but Uub dodged backwards. Noca darted to the left side of Uub and darted towards him again, this time with a right jab. Uub phased and appeared right in front of Noca but just a little bit to the side, basically a couple of inches. He was the one who managed to get off the jab and knocked Noca back again.
He managed to shake of the attack and charged in again, yelling as he went for a kick to Uub's head. Uub managed to duck under it yet again and that time he caught Noca's leg and threw him through the air. Noca rolled back and powered out his aura to slow himself, completing stopping himself, but only allowing Uub to come out and hit a stationary target. He met Noca with an elbow to the gut. Noca is knocked flying back yet again, crashing in the stage wall that time. Noca barely hit against the wall as Uub phased into Noca with his knee right into the Saiyan's gut. Noca let out a cry as he arched up in pain, but he quickly moved forward, not allowing himself to go down easily, and smashed his head right into Uub's nose. There was a crack and the warm sensation of blood as Uub backed off. Uub groaned, annoyed with that cheap shot. He didn't pay the blood any attention, letting it slowly leak from his nose. Noca took a breath and flashed back towards Uub with a punch into his gut. Uub bent of and grunted in pain but grabbed onto Noca's arm and pulled him closer, firing his knee into Noca's face.
Noca backed up into the air and Uub threw an energy blast up into the Saiyan's body and it exploded, sending Noca flying up in the sky. Uub then moved up, phasing all the way up above Noca to meet his body and hammered him back down into the stage. Noca struck the ground and bounced up above the stage just a little. Uub phased down and kicked Noca up a bit more and then punched him in the gut, sending him flying across the stage. Noca rolled through the air and powered out his hands, stopping himself, but left himself open as Uub phased behind him. Noca sensed it and flipped forward, getting away from that situation as soon as he could, but Uub phased with him, appearing right next to the Saiyan and smashed a right hook into his face. Noca is knocked down into the stage again and managed to get up, but only to be hit in the face instantly, being knocked off of his feet and right back into the curved stage wall.
Noca slumped down upon hitting the wall, sliding down and not moving right away. He was still conscious but weakened. Uub stopped himself from going back in for another attack and started to walk towards him, slowly. Noca was breathing a little raggedly and spat some blood out on the floor. Noca noticed the shadow of Uub's body getting closer and once the human was standing over him, Noca looked up slowly only to be punched in the face with is head smacking back into the wall. Uub pulled his arm back and did the same thing again with Noca's face knocked to the side and some blood being spat across the wall. The Saiyan coughed a few times and looked back to Uub slowly, chuckling to himself. Uub's brow furrowed but he paid it no mind as he powered up some Ki in his hand and went to throw it forward at Noca. The Saiyan moved swiftly managing to get a grip on Uub's arm, the energy dissipated and Noca managed to move, getting behind Uub, still with a grip on his arm and held it behind his back.
Not wanting to give Uub a chance to break out of the grip Noca had, the Saiyan opted to kick Uub in the back of the leg, causing it to give way and Uub fell down to his knees. That's when Noca let go and punched the human in the back of the head. Uub was knocked forward and managed to roll to gain a bit of extra distance. He turned on his feet and aimed himself back at Noca, leaping after him, getting on top of Noca. He managed to pin Noca's right arm to the stage and land with his knee on the Saiyan's chest again. Uub holds Noca down in that position and looks him in the eyes.
"It seems that no matter what you try to throw my way I always get the upper-hand," Uub said, confidently. "I will beat you, with ease. The fight is going to end here, and I will humiliate you."
Noca looked up into Uub's eyes and sees a lot of emotion in them but he doesn't get a chance to understand as Uub punches him in the face and jumps back into the air, phasing away. Noca finally getting freedom gets to his knees and is coughing and spurting out more saliva and blood as he recovers. His breathing returns to normal as he slowly gets up to his feet and looked up. He sees Uub in the distance, up in front of the dark clouds as they begin to move. As the black clouds started to move away the blinding light of the sun shone through, covering Uub and slightly impairing Noca. He had to look away even though he needed to know what would happen. Luckily, Noca had strong sense and could feel Uub, he was powering up another attack.
Uub was preparing another Kamehameha. A much strong one this time. He was definitely planning to end the fight and win in that moment. Noca stands up straight, stumbling and wobbling on his feet a little bit, with his arms by his side. He felt really out of breath but manages to draw in a big one and let out a yell as he powers out his aura again. He turns to make sure his body is facing Uub's and throws both of his arms out wide, drawing in more power, all around his body. His hands shining gold as the energy collects.
Up in the crowd there are some that recognise the attack. Vegeta smirks to himself.
"It's the Final Flash," Vegeta said out loud, feeling a little proud that Noca would opt to use the Prince's technique. Although Vegeta knew the downside, "A full powered version would drain a lot of energy, and Noca is already exhausted."
Noca doesn't stop drawing in the power and yells out as the energy is getting bigger. The sun is now completely visible as the clouds move away. It is shining down on the stage, illuminating everything. Up in the air, Uub continues to power up his Kamehameha and thinks to himself, "Noca is foolish for using all this power, he won't handle it."
Uub finally comes to his ideal amount for the attack and throws his hands forwarded yelling out as the wave thunders down towards the stage. Noca continues to charge his attack. He also aims to make sure that the attack is at its best before he goes for the attack. The blast flies down and Noca starts to get a little anxious, he needs to be sure of getting this off right. The blast is in full view and Noca finally gets to the amount he was looking for. He thrusts his hands forward and smirks.
"Final… FLASH!" Noca screams out as the energy erupts from him and fires straight into Uub's attack. They clash, hard, and immediately the two attack appear to be level. Uub is shocked by this outcome, almost expecting Noca's attack to be weaker than his. He starts to push all he can into his Kamehameha and yells. Down on the stage, Noca can feel it as Uub pours more energy in. It is all pressing down on him and it forces him to step back, his feet being pushed into the stage, causing it to crack. The ground even begins to lose its integrity and begins to fall away and rattle like crazy. Noca notices it falling away from him and he begins to worry. The pain in his left arm also begins to increase as his energy starts to dwindle. That means that his control of the attack starts to fail as well. All that energy falling down on him is terrifying and it begins to feel like too much. Uub's attack it definitely the one taking over.
Noca's eyes go wide in surprise as he realises, he can't stop it from happening. The fear reaches a peak, and vanishes, then comes the confusion at how he has let this happen, finally, the disappointment in himself. He can't stop it. There is an explosion as the two blasts finally absorb one another and go off right in front of Noca. That is immediately followed by another large explosion as the side of the stage Noca is on is shattered. Rubble and dust are thrown everywhere, filling the air and impairing everyone's vision.
There is a moment as everyone lets the dust settle, literally. Uub, exhausted from that output of power, is breathing heavily and looking down on the stage. He notices something and it causes him to curse, out loud. Noca is still there. He managed to remain on the edge of what remained of the stage. He was standing up, but he was no longer a Super Saiyan 2. He was in his full powered Super Saiyan form. His hair still golden and slightly spiked, but no aura. He dropped down to one knee and started coughing as his breath was practically running out. Uub proves he still has enough energy as he phases down and kicks Noca in the head. Uub then phased to the opposite side and kicked Noca up straight in front of him and punched the Saiyan in the chest. Noca is thrown across the stage as Uub phases behind him and knees him in the back, followed with an uppercut that straightens him up again, finishing with a punch into the back of the Saiyan's head.
Noca falls forward and lands roughly. He manages to quickly roll onto his back but can't get up. Uub wouldn't have given him that chance either way. The human pours energy into his right hand and powers in a strong punch, right down onto Noca's face. The Saiyan coughs to the side, spitting out a lot of blood. He tries to look forward, but another powered fist strikes him in the face and that time Noca drops from Super Saiyan completely. Uub stops for a second, noticing that he has managed to get the Saiyan all the way down to this point.
In his head he tries his best not to let it get to him. He can beat Noca in the tournament, in front of everyone and truly prove himself. Noca, laying there on his back, blood impairing his vision, practically passing out from the pain, feels something in his heart. In his soul. A spark of some sort. There's still something there, some power. Uub powers his fist down again, that time striking Noca in the chest. The lack of oxygen going to Noca's brain causes him to drift in and out of consciousness. He is definitely beginning to pass out from everything. Uub stops and looks down on the Saiyan one last time in the fight.
"This is it for you, nobody will need Saiyans after this," Uub mutters, proudly. "You're a failure. You are pathetic and useless."
Those words cut right through Noca's sense of Saiyan pride and there is another spark. There it was again, that power. Is there still something there?
Uub pulls back his arm again and punches down, Noca feels his energy race through him again and he eyes open wide. He turns to look up at Uub as the punch comes down and moves, reacting rapidly to catch the fist, using his bad left hand. Noca slightly winces at the pain and looks right into Uub's eyes. He sees the confusion flood the human and looking back into Noca's eyes, Uub sees them go teal. Next, there is an explosion of power as Noca is Super Saiyan 2 again. While holding on to Uub's arm Noca starts to rise into the air, a little above the stage and looks down on Uub, who still has his feet on the ground. Noca has rage in his eyes and a very strong grip on Uub's arm.
He punches down into Uub's face, still holding onto his arm. Then he punches down again, the stage begins to crack under the immense power. Next comes the third punch and some more of the stage crumbles away. Noca clenches his fist again, with static shining around it, and with the fourth punch he lets go of Uub's hand. The human drops down onto the stage and looks up at Noca. Noca's eyes shining through the blood on his face from all of Uub's hits. But now, Uub also had a lot of cuts and blood on his face. Noca had inflicted a lot of damage in those few hits. He not only looks at Noca's eyes, but he looks within the Saiyan and feels the intense increase in power, and he can only stare in disbelief.
"Saiyans are monsters…" Uub mutters, a crack in his voice as he does. He keeps staring up at Noca and notices the spark in his eyes as the Saiyan begins to rise into the air a little bit more. He looks up as he brings his hand into the air, drawing some energy within and then clenching it into a fist. With his hand still raised into the Noca looks back down on Uub. The human doesn't move. He doesn't know what to do at all. He just lets it all happen.
Noca throws his hand down towards Uub, pointing his finger forward and the small blast fires down at Uub and detonates. The explosion wipes away more of the stage and Uub is sent right through it and crashes down in the ground below, cracking right into the ground and laying there, unconscious. Noca drops back to his base form and descends to the stage, falling to his hands and knees with his left arm giving out. Noca falls onto his side, gripping the arm and crying out in pain.
Meanwhile, the announcer had jumped out of his box and ran out.
"And there we have it, folks. Our new CHAMPION! NOCA!" The announcer yelled as the crowd screamed and cheered. Fireworks started to go off and triumphant music began to play through the big speakers. Noca listens to it all but none of it resonates with him right away. He is too absorbed by all the pain he is feeling.
Uub is stretchered back to the waiting area and once what remains of the stage had lowered down Noca was also stretchered away. The crowd continued to cheer as the two finalists were taken away to have their injuries tended to. A few of Noca's friends and allies started to move and rush off to check on the young man. But there it was…
The world finally had its new Champion.
