"There, all done~!" Kandy declared as she dropped from an exposed vent in the ceiling onto the stone cold floor with her stiletto heels. As she stood upright, she sauntered towards her boyfriend in her jet-black and form-fitting catsuit that ironically squeaked as she walked.

"Shhh! Not so loud..." Danny whispered as he stood guard to the entrance of the room. "Are you sure about this...? Wait, where did you..."

"And last but not least... April Fools!" Kandy lunged at him and pulled his underwear over his head; giving him a massive wedgie. Danny struggled to stand up straight as the tightening elastic bands in his underwear strained his shoulders and legs.

Kandy snickered to herself as she felt a growing sense of giddiness sweep over her. After last night's round of "hanky-panky", she expressed her desire to come up some fun ideas for April Fools Day. Normally Katelyn wouldn't bother put in the effort to engage in such childish tomfoolery, but her alter-ego salivated in unleashing a series of schemes that Katelyn had repressed ever since she was little. After an hour of cuddling, Danny helped mediate her whacky ideas and shave it down to six they could do in the morning... technically seven, with the inclusion of her last minute wedgie.

When a disgruntled Danny finally reoriented himself, he looked over at the green goddess and let off a gentle sigh. Ever since she unveiled herself to him at the ski resort, he found himself grow increasingly conflicted with his feelings towards her personalities. He noticed that her once moderate and stoic persona started to grow more-and-more unhinged and zany as she continued wearing the mask for longer-and-longer stretches of time. In fact, he recently noticed that she opted to keep her mask on even while she slept which did god knows what to her mental state. And while he didn't openly complain about the daily out-of-this-world booty calls and her unrelenting affection, he did feel that his desires for her were less like a dream come true and more of a granted wish from a monkey paw. To Danny, he sought for someone who was a healthy mix of chill and fun, but instead her mask revealed her as a more flamboyant and unpredictable character who was a handful to deal with. Nevertheless, he stood by her and hoped that his presence would be a way to anchor her evolving personality and steer her towards some semblance of sanity.

"I'm so excited for today~!" She beamed as she went in for a brief but passionate smooch on the lips. He could feel her soft green lips while enjoying the sweet ambrosia lipstick that oozed out of mouth. After a minute of making out, she lifted her clear green head away and sauntered towards the exit.

"Wait! You can't go out looking like that..." Danny protested as Kandy's hand reached out for the door knob.

Kandy froze and felt her pent up giddiness wane. But then she realized that it might be more fun to go incognito and innocently witness her plan unfold along with her classmates.

"Ugh, fine. Let's see here..." Kandy snapped her fingers and whipped herself into a sizable twister that knocked over empty paint cans and whipped up any leaf of loose paper into the shroud of her storm. After a few seconds, the twister subsided and unveiled an average teenager who wore a simple cotton top, some jean shorts, and a pair of expensive Tory Burch sandals. However, there was still one big thing that was left noticeable.

"What about..." Danny asked as he pointed to her hairless neon head.

"You're a buzz kill, ya know that?" Kandy whined as she dug into her cleavage and pulled out a flabby peachy-colored mask that resembled Katelyn. She reached out and put both of her hands inside the sizable neck opening and tugged downwards until it reached just under her jawline. As she tugged downwards, Danny could hear the two masks rub and strain against each other while witnessing the physical manifestation of a tug of war between her original personality and the whacky green character underneath.

"Since this was your idea, come help me with this," Kandy demanded as she pointed to the back of her head. Danny obliged and saw a small zipper that went from the top of her scalp down to the edge of her peachy neck. He placed one hand on the top of her head and forcefully yanked an emerald zipper slider down until it bottomed out at the stopper. Then as he let go, the zipper twitched and then melted into her faux-skin while Katelyn's blonde hair sprouted from her scalp; leaving no trace of her green complexion or exposed seam. Danny looked on in awe at the layers upon layers of human and magical flesh that applied pressure to her skull just to keep her satiated.

"I'll see you after homeroom!" Kandy, now in a Katelyn disguise, said gleefully as she turned and walked towards her homeroom.

As she sat down, she looked up at the clock and watched the seconds tick by until it reached... 7:35 AM

"Bwahahwahahaha~"

Her teacher looked up at the loudspeaker with a stunned expression as the rest of her classmates burst out laughing. Prank number 3; replace the monotonous school bell with something fun like laughter from one of her favorite childhood cartoons, Spongebob Squarepants.

"Good, u-uh, morning students," their school principal grumbled.

"I see we're embracing the spirit of April Fools. Very. Funny..." He continued in a more serious manner. "Nonetheless, here are the announcements for today. First..."

As their principal continued to talk, the pitch of his voice started to rise higher and higher until his voice became a squeaky chipmunk. Prank number 4; leak helium into the principal's office.

Kandy looked around and relished in the laughter from her fellow classmates while feeling a surge of pride which reinforced her confidence. She was able to express her more manic ideas in a way that people would find enjoyable as the lines between her boring old self and her new fun spontaneous one blurred; due in no small part to the majority of her time spent as Katelyn's alter-ego.

"And that's all it folks!" Their principal finished as he clicked off the loudspeaker.

"riiiiiinnnnng"

The students in the classroom groaned as they got up and started to make their way to first period. Kandy, however, held her breath and started to rub her hands together under the table.

"It's time for..."

Before she could finish her thought, she heard a loud "POOF" sound echo from the hallway outside. As she got up from her seat and peered out the classroom door to investigate, she saw the entire hallway filled with an ample coating of green powder. Just before school started, Kandy rigged a total of 200 pounds of matcha powder inside the ceilings and setup a timer to go off after the bell to first period.

A moment later, she saw Danny carefully walk down the hall with his books over his head. When she looked over to him, she dug around in her purse and pulled out a large two-person umbrella and shared it umbrella with him as the two walked, hand in hand, to first period.

But as they walked, Danny started to hear people screaming.

"OH MY GOD!" "WHAT THE HECK!" "IT BURNS!"

Danny gasped in shock as he thought to himself, "It's not supposed to hurt. It's just matcha, just matcha..."

He continued to look around and saw some of his classmates rush into a nearby bathroom to clean themselves up. To Danny, he felt his stomach drop as he began to realize the harm their little prank had caused. Kandy, on the other hand, curled her lips and chuckled as she waited her next prank unfold. Prank number 5...

"WHOOSH!"

A loud burst of water rocketed out through the bathroom door and a noticeable pool of water began to accumulate in the halls. Teachers, who were trying to direct traffic and help other students, found themselves slipping on the slippery floor and land face first onto the ground or skid straight into the nearby metal lockers. Danny tugged his girlfriend back towards a nearby wall as they saw the chaos ensue with more students and teachers getting caught in the crossfire which led to multiple injuries all over the place.

Suddenly, a high pitched voice flipped on the school sound-system. "Everyone please evacuate the school. This is NOT a drill! I repeat this is NOT a drill!"

"It was supposed to be funny, it was just a prank..." A shaken Danny thought to himself as he pulled his girlfriend, who was now laughing hysterically, towards an emergency exit while continuing to look back and watch her pranks turn from innocent jokes into utter mayhem.

When they reached the football field, Kandy led him underneath the bleachers into a dark corner and attempted to catch her breath and yank off her human mask to get some air. Danny could faintly see her baby blue eyes enlarged and turn into a dark shade of green as she attempted to shed her facade.

"Pheeeeww~ That thing was not my size," she rejoiced as she used her manicured neon-colored fingers to fan her pulsing green skull.

Danny, still petrified by what he just witnessed, wanted to have a serious talk with his girlfriend, not Kandy, about what just happened. He walked over her and reached towards the back of her head and pulled at her exposed green seam.

"NUUUU! AHHHhhhh!" Kandy moaned loudly as she tried to cover her elongated mouth with her hands.

As Danny pulled on the back of her head, green strands of light pierced through the now hardening fibers on her face. Kandy let out an inaudible scream as she felt the strong tendrils detach from the ingrown trenches that dug deep into her scalp. As each tendril released its grasp, her smooth blemish-less face grew wrinkled and dulled from a glowing green to a faded brown. Danny closed his eyes and leaned backwards as he, once again, played a familiar tug-of-war with the mask's magical skin and the human that lay underneath its grasp.

With some elbow grease, Danny plucked her sheen green face off and flew backward onto the grass covered ground with her wooden mask in hand. Katelyn, still a little dazed from the detransformation, slumped against a nearby railing while gently rubbing her sore temples. She turned to her boyfriend as she heard screaming and hysteria coming from inside the school.

"Danny, don't be mad. It was all supposed to be in good fun..." She started to say.

"Fun!? The first few were innocent enough but then..." Danny stared at Katelyn with frustration in his eyes, "...your ideas got out of hand."

Katelyn's eyes slowly narrowed as return a death stare. She grew disgusted by Danny's comment of directing all the blame towards her. While Kandy was technically her id, she neither liked or wanted to be called out for today's turmoil.

"My... idea...?" Katelyn said softly in a low guttural voice. "My... fcking idea!?" She started to scream. "You could've stopped at any time!"

"Stopped what!? I tried to stop you last night, in fact you wanted to go even further!" Danny screamed back.

"You just can't handle the truth..." He sighed as he tapped his forehead against a nearby railing. "That mask is changing you Kat. You're loosing your grip on reality..." Danny mumbled to himself as Katelyn grew more furious at him.

"Fk off!" Katelyn screeched as she grabbed her mask out of his hands and headed back towards the school.
