A week has passed and we were just outside and walking around the city, trying to figure out what to do. We've all trained quite hard the past week and I knew Mystic along with everyone else was eager to attempt this new gym. I can't even control Mystic who has been looking for a battle all day today.
Because of this, I decided it was finally time to test our strength and attempt to get the next badge. So I took both Mystic and Flanite and walked down to the gym.
We entered the nice cold building as I looked around. It was very artistic. Most of it was made of some sort of quartz or marble as there were large statues of different flying types. Ahead of us was the front counter, so I walked up to it as the person standing there looked over me.
Ky: Ah, another challenger. I'm Ky. I assume you want to enter?
Nodding, I watched as he reached down and took a ticket before giving it to me.
Ky: We are pretty packed today… So I don't think there will be an open slot until tomorrow. Come back at ten tomorrow and I'm sure we'll be able to get you started.
I nodded again and turned back. I left the building and looked down at the two in my bag.
Amy: Well… I guess you gotta wait until tomorrow. But I'm sure we'll do fine, so don't worry.
Pulling out my phone, I started looking at it.
Amy: Hmm. I guess we have an entire day to burn. Lets see… Ah. How about we stop by this lake nearby? Could be a good place to relax and have some food.
The two agreed happily as I walked to a nearby shop to pick up some food. After picking up some food, I walked to the lake outside of the city. After getting to the lake, I found the perfect spot and sat down.
Placing the box of food down, I opened it up and started unpacking them. Once I got the food out, I pulled out my Pokeball's and released my team. It didn't take long for them to find something to do. Sylvie sat next to me and noticed me pull out a cooking pot. She looked confused and gently pawed me. Looking at her, I just chuckled.
Amy: This? I found it in the shop. It's used to cook.
Sylvie looked excited at this and suddenly ran off. I looked confused as she rushed off. She ran into some bushes and after a few minutes, she returned.
In her feelers, she had a few berries and what looked like fruits also.
Amy: Oh…? Jeez. You took no time rushing off to collect these. So… I guess you want me to make you some berry muffin or something?
Sylvie nodded and smiled at this.
Amy: Heh… I was just gonna make some soup or something. But muffins sound good. Why don't you bring me some more? Don't want the others to not get any, heh.
Taking the berries and all from her, she took no time running off again.
Returning to the pot, I set it up and used Kuro to create a fire. So after the fire started, I placed the pot on a stand and began cooking.
For the next 45 minutes, I just cooked loads of these berry muffins. Sylvie provided me with these berries and I continued cooking. So after those 45 minutes, I finished a few batches of muffins as I called everyone over. My team gathered around and we ate.
While we ate, I noticed Stealth who sat near the lake. He hadn't taken any food. I took a few and got up. I walked over to him as he remained sitting there.
Standing next to him, I reached my hand out. He looked at the muffin but quickly looked forward again. I looked a bit confused.
Amy: Uh… Is something wrong?
Stealth just huffed and looked annoyed.
Amy: Um… Okay. Guess I'll let you be.
Turning back, I began walking but was stopped by Stealth who wrapped his tail around my leg.
Amy: Hmm?
Stealth lifted his head up and sighed. He just let go of my leg and this confused me.
Amy: You alright?
He didn't reply. He just dove into the water and vanished into the deep lake.
Amy: Strange…
Shrugging it off, I walked to the others. I sat next to Mystic and started thinking.
Amy: Hmm… So this gym focus on birds. Err… Could maybe shoot them down with fire or water. But maybe it'd be too slow.
Sylvie squeaked out and wrapped her feelers around me. Looking at them, I thought of something.
Amy: Huh. I think I have an idea. Perhaps you can force them down with these.
She wagged her tail and nodded.
Amy: Heh… I think we can do this. Force them down and use a powerful attack.
Rubbing her head, I laid back.
Amy: Okay. I'll send Sylvie first. Try and weaken them or maybe even win using this tactic. Though I doubt it'd be that easy… But still…! I believe we can win this. So lets use today as a break. Get prepared for the battle ahead.
Everyone agreed and we enjoyed the rest of the day near the lake as we played around and came up with some plans.
This fun time went on until 8:30. The sun was nearly gone completely as the sky was dark orange. I decided that it was time to return. I didn't want to get stuck at night in the wilderness. So I called my team back and grabbed all my gear. Once packed up, I walked back to the city.
Sylvie, Mystic, Flanite and Stealth followed behind me as we entered the city. Neon lights and all shined brightly as we walked down the street. We ended up encountering Zach who sat at a food stall. Electric and Spike sat next to him and ate. We walked up to him and greeted him.
Zach: Hey. Been wondering where you've been all day.
I told him what we were doing.
Zach: Ah. Well, glad you found me. Electric and Spike just wouldn't stop running off here to eat, heh… But anyway, are you gonna challenge that gym? Heard traffic finally died down for it.
Amy: Yep. We plan on taking it tomorrow.
Zach: Good luck with that then. Ruka and I might just check out the rest of the city tomorrow. So… I guess we'll see if you manage to get that badge.
Amy: Lets hope. Well… I guess I'll head home to get some sleep. Gotta get up early.
Zach rubbed Electric's back and tail while nodding.
Zach: Sounds good to us. We'll head to our room soon.
Amy: Okay, see you soon then.
I walked back to our room and entered it. I placed my bag on the bed and sighed.
Amy: Well… We've gotta be up by ten.
Sitting on the bed, Mystic jumped out from the bag and found a spot on the bed to just lay there, followed by Flanite. I got ready for bed and just laid on the bed. Closing my eyes, I suddenly felt something slither up my leg. This made me jump as I opened my eyes quickly and looked down at it. I sighed in relief as it was just one of Sylvie's feelers as she stared at me next to the bed.
Amy: S- something wrong? You want to sleep with me tonight? Well, what are you waiting for? Heh…
Sylvie smiled and jumped up. She landed on top of me as I jolted from the weight.
Amy: J- jeez. Didn't expect you to do that though.
Sylvie laid across me and rested her feelers against my body. After a few seconds, she passed out on top of me. I sighed softly and chuckled as I stroked her head. So I laid my head back and fell asleep.
It was around nine when I woke up. Sylvie still laid on top of me as I gently removed her. She simply rolled off and gave soft purrs as she pawed the air. I allowed them to sleep a bit more as I got up and took a shower before getting ready for the battle today. Once I was ready, I woke them up and we were off.
Only taking five minutes, we reached the gym. I entered, Sylvie and Espeonage followed behind. Ky looked at me from the front desk and motioned towards the door.
Ky: Looks like you made it. Fi is currently battling, but you can head in after that.
Amy: Oh, okay.
I walked towards some chairs and sat down. Sylvie wrapped one of her feeler around my arm as she sat next to me. She looked at me and smiled.
Amy: You seem calm. That's good… Lets hope it isn't too difficult for you at first.
Sylvie squeaked out and wagged her tail before putting on a serious expression.
Amy: Heh… Well, I'm sure you'll do great then. I've been thinking… And I believe sending in Espeonage after you seems like a good idea. He seems pretty fired up.
Looking over, I saw Espeonage and Mystic fighting.
Amy: Err… Yeah. Pretty sure he'll love battling.
Sitting back, I watched the TV that hung from the wall for ten or so minutes. After that time, I was called up over the speaker. So I got up, called the others and walked through the doors. I walked down a long hallway as the three followed me.
Once I got to the door, they opened as I walked into the battlefield which was clearly designed for flying types. Lots of open air above, but the ground had all sorts of rocky terrain. Large vents that released a powerful air current scattered the battlefield too. I walked into this field and crossed my arms. I looked at the others and sighed.
Amy: Well then… Did not expect the field to be really rocky. This might be a challenge…
Looking at Sylvie, I stroked her head.
Amy: Okay… Think you can handle this uneven terrain? Might be tough… But you gotta keep on your feet.
Sylvie gave a determined look. I chuckled at this and looked forward. After a minute, I saw the leader of this gym who walked up to the battlefield.
Fi: Jeez. So busy lately… But I don't mind. Lets see what you have, hmm?
She crossed her arms and scoffed.
Fi: As you can see, I specialize in birds and all. My team is known to be the fastest and still pack quite a punch. Think you can handle such speed…?
Fi pulled out a pokeball and looked up at me.
Fi: Now… How about we see who's faster? I do want a worthy challenger, so is that challenger you?
Watching, I saw her release a Fearow. I looked at Sylvie and sent her out. She jumped into the rocky terrain and luckily caught her footing instead of falling over.
Fi: A Sylveon, hmm? Quite an interesting choice. I've dealt with Jolteon's trying to zap my team out of the sky. But my team's speed is way too much even for them. This will be interesting indeed…
She smirked as we stared at each other for a moment. I then looked at Sylvie. She looked back at me and nodded.
Amy: I'm sure you'll do fine. They are really quick… So dodging might be a good idea until we find an opening. So just wait for my signal.
Sylvie nodded and looked at the Fearow. This Fearow looked ready for a fight and I knew this is only one of many. This will be a tough fight and I hope Sylvie can endure these attacks until we wear them down.
Fi: Well? Are you ready?
My thoughts were disrupted by Fi who stared at me. I stood straight and nodded.
Fi: Heh… Then lets begin!
The battle then began without more delay...
