"Volkner."
"Lance." Sinnoh's strongest Electric Specialist returned the greeting when he appeared within the room that is only accessible to authorised personnel. The other people within the room are Lance and his Elite Four together with Elesa from Unova.
Together, they will be the ones to stop Mewtwo.
"Yoohoo~ Excited?"
Volkner simply used a finger to gesture to his own face after hearing Elesa's question.
"Look at my face. What do you think?"
"Aw~ Play along!"
"Oh wow, I'm so excited." Volkner said in an overexaggerated tone with a roll of his eyes which Elesa replied with a roll of her own.
"I just received an update from who I think is our mysterious informant." Lance cut the banter short while putting his phone back into his pocket. "Our informant has reasons to believe that Team Rocket has another Legendary level trump card. It's just that he doesn't have anything to prove its existence."
"That coincides with our findings, didn't it? Our Legendary Birds are missing." Will spoke with a frown. "Have you tried contacting the informant?"
"That number is now invalid." Lance said with a frustrated sigh while running a hand through his unruly red hair. "If only he could come clean with us about his identity, then maybe it will be easier to share our knowledge and keep each other in the loop."
"He probably has other considerations to worry about when it comes to revealing his identity. In any case, the celebrations are starting soon. We should prepare."
Bruno's words had everyone's hands subconsciously move a little towards the pokeballs attached on their belt. Even for trainers like them, this is the first time they are embarking on such a dangerous battle. The title of Legendary is not given for show. Legends are legends simply because no mortals could replicate their feats.
Team Rocket had created a legend. It doesn't matter if it is artificially made or not, but a legend is a legend. Nobody had fought against a legend in a life and death battle and lived to tell the tale, nobody other than the very first Indigo Champion, Ishikawa Katsuo. He's the only person said to have warred against legends and defeated them fair and square.
Moltres, Ho-oh, both fell to his might during his conquest to unite the Indigo. It's a pity that none of Indigo's subsequent Champions are able to replicate his legendary feat. They could really use someone like him right now.
"Let's get a move on." Karen agreed as she moved towards the door. According to the information leaked to them by their informant, Team Rocket would make their move right after the Indigo Police Force are done with their performance. The Police Force had already made their entrance. Anytime now.
To her surprise, the electronic door couldn't be opened.
"Let me try." Bruno offered as he went to open the door, only for the same thing to happen.
"Shit." Will cursed out loud, his xatu standing stoically beside him. "My psychics are reporting that something is interfering with any and all known psychic wavelengths and signatures. We cannot even teleport out now! The Rockets must have made their move earlier than we anticipated!"
"Bad news on my end too, my porygon-z is unable to access the stadium's network." Volkner reported with a grim voice as he looked up from his poketch. "Whatever Team Rocket did, it is good enough to prevent a porygon-z from hacking into the stadium's defense system."
"Then we break down the door." Lance decided immediately. "Bruno."
"Oi oi, Indigo's doors and walls are famed for being made of the sturdiest stuff, aren't they? Didn't you guys say that they cannot be broken down no matter what you do?"
"That only applies to trainers below the level of a Pillar." Koga explained patiently to Volkner's question. "They won't remain standing for long if we are the ones doing the breaking down, and especially with Mega Evolution in our grasp."
"Move aside." Bruno grunted as his lucario stood in front of him. Right before their eyes, Bruno vanished in a burst of speed as he and his lucario both punched at the supposedly indestructible doors.
"HAH!"
With a loud crash, the door was flinged off its hinges and sent flying. The flight continued until it hit the opposing wall across the corridor with a loud bang.
"Dude, a human punching a huge metal door off its hinges is not supposed to be possible." Volkner commented without a care in the world as he strode out of the room with his hands in his pockets, his raichu beside him.
"I am a practitioner of Aura."
"Oh."
"Regardless, the situation had changed. Things are not going to plan. Look." Koga said while showing them what is currently happening in the stadium right now through his phone by tuning into the live broadcast. Right on the largest screen in the stadium, a video of Executive Archer giving a speech could be seen.
"They must have hijacked the control room. No other way they could have hijacked the broadcast while trapping us all in the room like that. The control room is the only place in the entire stadium that can control every single screen, door, shutter, and gates in the stadium." Elesa deduced immediately.
"The fact that none of our forces stationed here are making their appearance would also mean that something had happened to them. Very likely, they are trapped in their own rooms like we experienced. It's a smart move on the Rocket's part, to use the famed defense system of the Indigo Stadium against us. It's an oversight on our part."
The Indigo Stadium is not only one of the largest and oldest stadiums in the world, but also the sturdiest. It was initially built to be a bunker capable of containing threats within it and also preventing anything from outside to harm the occupants within. It was built to be an impenetrable bunker.
Not only that, the entire stadium is strategically designed and separated into many sections, with large heavy metal gates and shutters positioned at key areas that can be immediately activated to quickly isolate a given section when needed. It is a countermeasure designed in the event when a pokemon within the stadium somehow goes berserk and needs immediate containment. Those gates and shutters are said to be near indestructible unless you are on the level of a Pillar.
Right now, the situation is not in their favour. The entire stadium is being held hostage by Team Rocket through Mewtwo. From what they saw through the broadcast, Archer had claimed that Team Rocket's forces are now marching towards every single city in Johto and if the Gym Leaders were to resist, then for every Rocket member put down an audience from the stadium will be killed in return.
The Indigo Stadium has a seating capacity of 100,000. Which means to say, Team Rocket now has 100,000 hostages in their hands. Something needs to be done about this situation, and fast. At this rate Team Rocket will really conquer the Johto region without needing to experience a battle.
That's not all. Before the end of the video that was starring Executive Archer, Archer had taunted Lance to make an appearance and fight Mewtwo, saying that if he doesn't do so Mewtwo will also start killing off the audiences one after the other.
Team Rocket had forced Lance into a corner. He has no other choice but to go and face Mewtwo in battle with his hands tied behind his back. There's no way he can battle at full strength with so many innocent bystanders around, they will end up as collateral damage.
Just as the Pillars were giving some thought on how to best resolve this situation, Lance's phone beeped once more. Lance quickly whipped it out to see if anyone had anything useful to inform him about, only to frown a little when he read the message.
"What is it?"
"It's our informant again. He told me to go ahead and face Mewtwo in battle, and that he will find a way to open the gates and shutters soon enough. However, not all the shutters can be opened immediately. He does need some help in certain sectors."
"Where?"
"Sectors B, G, and O and coincidentally, these are the areas where our forces are currently being trapped in. The informant said to destroy the relevant gates within those sectors at exactly 10: 30. Now is 10: 26, but our route there is blocked thanks to Team Rocket having control of the defense system and Teleport somehow being unavailable right now."
"Which means the problem is how to reach there and destroy those gates on time with most of them still being shut and controlled by Team Rocket."
"If Teleport doesn't work, I know something else that will." Volkner said immediately, capturing their attention. "Shadow Sneak. Not many pokemon would know how to use that move, but it just so happens that my gallade is capable of using it. And rather proficiently too, if I may add."
"Are you sure Shadow Sneak will work?"
"I know of a thirteen year old girl that used Shadow Sneak to slip past all of the defenses in my West Forest."
"In that case, let's do this." Lance came to a decision as he explained his plan. "Koga, you take back control of the control room. Volkner, I need you, Bruno, and Will to help free our forces from where they are trapped in. Bring them there with your gallade's Shadow Sneak. Elesa, Karen, and I will hold Mewtwo back long enough for everyone to finish their jobs. Join us as soon as you can."
At this moment, the live broadcast playing on Koga's phone showed Mewtwo teleporting into the stadium, armoured with the M2 Bind.
"We don't have much time." Koga reminded them.
"Now is 10: 26. At 10: 30 sharp, we will free our forces from their containment. Everyone do a time sync now, we need to make sure we are all using the correct time because timing is of the essence. Also, convey to our forces that Protocol M is allowed. Don't worry about the backlash of using it in public's view. I will handle the aftermath."
Everyone else had a heavy look on their face upon hearing those words, but nobody commented on anything. They all understand the severity of the problem they are facing right now.
"Got it. I will also get my porygon-z to continue and try hacking into the stadium's defense system at the same time, see if we can speed things up." Volkner replied as he let his gallade out. "Come, Mr muscles and little willy, let's be on our merry way."
"Little willy?!"
Whatever complaints Will had wasn't heard because Volkner's gallade brought them away with a Shadow Sneak at the next moment.
"Will they be alright?"
"I believe the question should be, will we be alright?" Karen corrected Elesa as they both followed Lance to the middle of the stadium.
"Are we really going up there to fight against a pokemon on the legendary level? Just the three of us? Our fighting strength just got cut by more than half." Elesa asked hesitantly.
"I am not planning for anyone to lose or die, if that is what you are wondering. It is now 10: 28. We just have to survive for two minutes." Lance replied confidently as he strode out into the stadium, walking ahead of Elesa and Karen.
"Easier said than done, Mr Champion." Elesa argued, but released her pokemon out for the imminent battle anyway.
Lance grinned as he released his team of dragons out for battle, who met Mewtwo's challenge with defiant roars, roars that put the entire stadium at ease with their presence.
"Don't worry. Nobody on our side is dying today." Lance promised as he rode on one of his dragonites before taking off.
"I swear upon it as the Champion of Indigo."

Jarvis got more and more worried with each passing second, his analytical mind making it very clear to him that there really isn't much time left until 10: 30. He needs to wrestle the control of the Indigo Stadium defense system back into their hands before then. Otherwise, the entire Indigo will be screwed.
However, the network of the stadium's defense system cannot be penetrated no matter how he tried. It is like an impenetrable fortress. Jarvis had never encountered anything like this before, even the Indigo Government database wasn't so well guarded.
[Calling for kin SN105672964, calling for kin SN105672964]
Jarvis perked up upon hearing the call of a fellow porygon. There is another porygon here? What a small world.
This fellow kin of his might also be his very last hope.
[This is SN105672964, please come in]
[This is SN306781947, I am your ally. I am able to help you access the network. Where are you right now?]
Jarvis quickly sent his location to the kin that is calling for him. There isn't any other choice but to place his trust in the other porygon. Their species are rare due to the fact that they are artificially made and the only other porygon he had met thus far before this was the other Jarvis belonging to one Velda Vera, but right now beggars can't be choosers.
In the event that Indigo's mysterious informant failed in his job, then it is on him to break into the network before 10: 30 and reactivate all the gates and shutters within the stadium. That is the only way to allow swift evacuation of the people trapped within.
Another porygon-z soon popped into the section of the cyberspace where Jarvis is in. Now, Jarvis is curious. Another porygon-z?
[Hello, I am SN306781947. You can call me Nosy.]
[I am Jarvis. Can you help me gain control of the defense system before 10: 30?]
[Affirmative.] Nosy replied without hesitation. [The Rockets had hacked into the defense system using our fellow kins, which is why you are having trouble. They have an army of them.]
[I see.]
Of course, he should have guessed that their fellow kins are working against him. After all, his birthplace was at Kanto, back at the shady AI manufacturing plant in Saffron before he was shifted and placed as a prize in the Celadon Game Corner where he eventually met Volkner. If it wasn't for the fact that he was programmed to make it impossible to ever leak out what he knows about Team Rocket before he became Jarvis, he would have told Volkner long ago everything he knew about the Game Corner.
[What's the plan?]
[I have hacked into one of my fellow kin. Using that as an access point, we can shut down the entire network and reconfigure it into our own design. We have one minute and twenty-one seconds to 10: 30. Shall we get to work now?]
[Let's do this]
"Dragon Pulse!"
It still astounds him sometimes, that a Legendary pokemon can be created.
Team Rocket did a darn good job in creating Mewtwo. The power that Mewtwo is casually throwing about could easily kill any trainer below the Elite level. It still left him breaking out in a cold sweat sometimes, that if he didn't receive the tipoff about this Rocket invasion beforehand, if Indigo didn't have time to prepare for today…
Lance cannot imagine just what would have happened to Indigo. He, for one, could not possibly match Mewtwo in combat all by himself without any prior warning. If their R&D team hadn't figured out a way to break Mewtwo out of the M2 Bind they would really be screwed ten times over.
'Can't you guys put in some effort to land a hit on me? I'm not even actively trying to dodge for goodness sake!'
Lance had faced many types of opponents ever since he became a trainer. Powerful ones, skilled ones, underhanded ones, quiet ones. Trainers and pokemon come in all shapes and sizes and each have their distinct personality and unique skill sets
However, none of them is as talkative as the man-made psychic pokemon here. It talks way too much.
To make things worse, they cannot block out Mewtwo's voice because it is not speaking with them through its mouth. Its loud voice goes directly into their minds and there's nothing they can do to stop it from happening, to unhear anything it is speaking directly into their minds.
Mewtwo casually punted his dragonite and salamence out of the air with a flick of its fingers.
'Who~ Is~ That dragon I see? Staring straight~ Back at me~ When will my reflection show~ WHO I AM INSIDE~'
And it sings. Horribly.
"Oh god! Does it ever stop talking?!" Karen complained as she and her dark types tried their best to hinder its movements. However, the effects are not as much as they desired it to be. Mewtwo is simply too powerful and it is not even taking them seriously.
'You guys don't like my singing? I like it when people sing, my only friend is a very good singer although he tends to sing sorrowful songs instead of happy ones. What a pity. Oh hey! Do any of you have any songs to recommend?'
Mewtwo was swiftly interrupted by a large discharge of electrical energy, cutting his speech off.
'Oh, I know you! Elesa!'
"I'm flattered." Elesa replied flatly as her electric types picked up the pace of the battle, trying to pin Mewtwo in place. Volkner had almost succeeded in getting his rotom to infiltrate the M2 Bind earlier but Mewtwo still managed to break out with nary a thought. Mewtwo is too powerful, and even till now it is simply toying with them.
They are supposed to be some of the strongest trainers the world has to offer, and yet they are being toyed with.
'Hey hey, remember the miltank farm at Route 39?'
"How did you know that I've been there?! Do you just read my mind?!" Elesa growled furiously as her zebstrika blasted Mewtwo with another blast of electricity, only for it to barely leave a dent on the M2 Bind.
'Oh no, I didn't. I know how you humans value your privacy so I try to not do that unless I really need to. Hey hey, I'm curious. Do you find him attractive?'
"Who?"
'Your Mr IT consultant.'
"Him?" Elesa frowned while continuing to give her pokemon commands. "How do you know that fellow?"
'I am Mewtwo. I know everything except for one thing.'
"Which is?"
'Team Rocket has another legendary trump card. Do any of you happen to know what it is?'
"Kanto's Legendary Birds." Lance replied as his dragons tried to forcefully rip the M2 Bind off Mewtwo, only for Mewtwo to slip away from their grasp with a Teleport. More dragons closed in on Mewtwo and this time, Mewtwo simply blasted them all away with another use of Psychic.
'Now that made some sense.' Mewtwo conceded as it visibly gathered a huge amount of psychic energy between its palms.
'Watch out, I'm unable to control my actions until you guys free me from the accursed M2 Bind. Until then, try not to die by my hands. PSYSTRIKE!'
Lance and the others immediately scattered just as Mewtwo unleashed a devastating wave that shattered everything in its path. Lance grimaced when he saw how the site of the battle had changed. The damage from that attack had just effectively blocked the escape route the Rangers were using to evacuate the civilians out of the stadium.
'And another one! And another! And another!'
Mewtwo had flown up above the stadium and began to fire off psychic waves indiscriminately in all directions. Lance and his dragons moved in response. There's no way he will allow any innocent bystanders to die today.
With a single command, his dragons unleashed a volley of Dragon Pulse at the psychic waves, detonating it prematurely before any real damage could be done. He gave a thumbs up to a nearby Ranger that he just saved before diving back into the fray, indicating to her that everything is now alright.
"Lance! Leave Mewtwo to us! Go take out the Rockets! We need the civilians out of here ASAP!"
Volkner's assurance was all Lance needed to decide to help out with the Rocket suppression. He and his dragons changed directions and headed straight for the Rockets.
"This is Champion Lance! I will open up a route! All Rangers, follow behind me!"
His voice had the intended effect. The Rangers who were startled by Mewtwo's display of power earlier are starting to calm down and reorganise themselves behind his army of dragons. Up above, Volkner had Mewtwo preoccupied as his pokemon engaged the psychic pokemon in high speed aerial combat, not giving Mewtwo a chance to respond.
'Too fast, too fast! Slow down! More haste, less speed!'
"Just SHUT UP! Your voice is making our heads hurt!"
Will dropped down from above Mewtwo with a flash of Teleport, even if it is clear to Lance that even Will's pokemon are struggling to manage a Teleport thanks to whatever the Rockets had employed that is interfering with the abilities of their psychic pokemon. It is a testament to Will's skill as a trainer that his pokemon are still able to pull off a Teleport in such a situation, even if it is a shaky one.
Bruno and his fighting types had tagged along for the ride. Will's Teleport had allowed Bruno to reposition himself in an instant and their nation's most powerful Fighting Specialist didn't disappoint. Moving at speeds that none of them could catch, Bruno's fighting types had swiftly smacked Mewtwo into the ground in one solid blow.
"NOW!"
Koga was the first to follow up as his poison types quickly closed in towards Mewtwo. Lance brought his attention back to his own situation upon seeing that. They have things handled. Now, he will help the Indigo forces erase the Rocket forces that are terrorising the stadium.
"Hyper Beam!"
His dragonites collectively fired a Hyper Beam in the direction where most of the Rockets are at, obliterating them in a single move. With this, the STAR forces should have an easier time doing the cleanup. The Rangers would have greater freedom in conducting their rescue operations, which will translate into a faster evacuation.
"GO!"
His Rangers moved under his command, taking this opportunity to quickly escort the civilians out of the stadium now that the Rockets are temporarily unable to counterattack. Lance allowed the STAR forces to take over from here and turned his attention back to Mewtwo. The assembled team that were tasked to free Mewtwo are starting to restrain it and from the looks of it, this second attempt in trying to get Volkner's rotom in infiltrating the M2 Bind is going a lot more smoothly.
Hopefully, there won't be a need for a third attempt.
Even with the preparations done on their end, it took them another thirty minutes or so to finally break Mewtwo out. Trying to hold Mewtwo down for so long was a nightmare none of them wanted to go through ever again.
'Ah! Fresh air! Freedom! FREEDOM! Hah! Take that, annoying one! Thou shalt not be controlled by you any longer! I, AM, FREE!'
"It's still talking." Karen deadpanned with her arms tiredly crossed across her chest, tired of listening to Mewtwo's rants since their battle started.
"This goofy idiot is Giovanni's greatest masterpiece? Really?"
"What did you expect Mewtwo to be like before today?"
"I don't know, but definitely not this."
The cloud of smoke had started to clear, allowing them all to see Mewtwo in all its glory. Mewtwo is raising its arms into the air in celebration while doing some sort of funny tap dance with its feet, clearly enjoying its newfound freedom. The shattered pieces of the destroyed M2 Bind are scattered across the ground. Volkner's rotom had succeeded in its job.
"Weird as it is, it is still a legendary pokemon." Lance reminded them before calling after Mewtwo. "Mewtwo!"
'What?!' Mewtwo turned around, visibly annoyed at having its celebratory dance interrupted.
"Do you mind helping?" Lance gestured to their surroundings. A sizable number of the Rockets have been obliterated by Lance's dragons earlier but if Mewtwo is really like what their informant had reported, that it has no wish to side with the Rockets, then there's a chance that it might choose to play an active role in stopping Team Rocket.
They really need all the help they could get right now, even if it means getting help from their former foe.
'Oh fine, if only for his sake.'
Mewtwo rolled its eyes before raising a hand. To their surprise, the battlefield stilled for a moment and with a flick of its finger, every single Rocket and their pokemon from everywhere within the stadium began to rise up into the air. Shocked screams and shouts filled the air as the Rockets struggled helplessly in Mewtwo's hold, gradually levitating higher and higher until they are mere specks in the sky.
'Adios.'
A psychic explosion coloured the skies above as it rained scarlet. Mewtwo put up a large psychic barrier above the stadium that prevented the rain of red from staining them crimson, looking unbothered that it had just casually massacred every single remaining Rocket within the stadium with a simple thought.
'Why are you guys looking at me like that? Oh, I know. You guys are glad that I wasn't taking any of you seriously, am I right? Oh, no need to be so awed at my glory. I am Mewtwo. This much is par for the course.'
"You are the most annoying psychic I ever had the chance to know." Karen gritted out.
'Twenty years of confinement in that glass tank does wonder for my current mental state. If anything, take your complaints up to the annoying one. You might know him, he goes by the name of Giovanni. And while we are on that topic.'
Mewtwo's expression turned serious, grabbing their attention.
'Giovanni is missing. I am also currently unable to track him because that accursed M2 Bind sapped a large portion of my strength while I was trying to resist it. I am not at my peak right now and I won't be for quite a while, maybe even for the whole of today. My friend had gone to track him down but I just lost contact with him too. I need you to help him track Giovanni down, now. I'm pretty sure he's about to do something really stupid.'
"You have a friend?"
'You know him as your friendly and mysterious informant. Without him, there wouldn't be an Indigo now. Be thankful, that he is on your side. If it wasn't for him, I would have been your enemy.'
Mewtwo began to float in the air once more.
'I will honour my friend's wish and lend you my assistance in wiping all Rockets out of Kanto, so that you fools can focus your full attention on what is currently happening in Johto. If Team Rocket really has the Legendary Birds in their hands as you said, then you useless fools might want to hurry.'
With that, Mewtwo disappeared in a Teleport.
"We are letting it go just like that?"
"What else can we do? You saw how powerful it really is even when it's not at its peak. None of us can stop it if it ever took us seriously." Lance replied as he gestured to the bloodied battlefield.
"What Lance said. Just be glad that it is not our enemy." Bruno grunted out an agreement as he recalled several of his pokemon. "Let's move on to the next stage of our plans."
"Reports are starting to come in from every single town and city in Johto. As expected, Violet, Goldenrod, and Olivine are having it the hardest." Koga spoke up as he put his phone back into his pocket.
"Olivine should be fine with Steven and Lorelei helping Jasmine. Siebold is running support from the Whirl Islands as well, I wouldn't be too worried about Olivine." Lance stated. "Let's first focus our efforts on Violet and Goldenrod. What's the status there?"
"I'm heading to Goldenrod. Consider Proton neutralised." Volkner stated without caring about anyone else's response as he climbed onto his luxray's back, recalling his pokemon back to their pokeballs save a select few.
Lance didn't bother to comment because he knows Volkner won't bother to take orders from him now that his most important job is done. He knew the only reason why Volkner chose Goldenrod instead of Violet is because Goldenrod is a lot closer to Olivine. If the situation at Olivine took a turn for the worst, he could head over immediately to help Jasmine.
"Thank you, Volkner."
"Don't mention it."
With that, Volkner's luxray took off into the skies, leaving them alone.
'Are we really heading to Goldenrod?' Simba asked Volkner the moment they were alone, flying in the general direction towards Olivine. Volkner could have teleported over with Myst's help, but if he chose not to do so then it means that Volkner is expecting harder battles ahead that might need Myst to be at full strength. Teleportation over distances as large as the distance between the Indigo Plateau and Goldenrod takes a fair bit out of psychic pokemon no matter how powerful they may be.
"Yes. We neutralise the ice boy, then we head back home." Volkner replied from where he is sitting on Simba's back, Squeaky and Vik flying alongside them.
'Something on your mind?'
"That Mewtwo, it knows things that it isn't supposed to know, like the song it was singing earlier. The lyrics had changed a little, but I'm pretty sure that song was called Reflection."
'You mean your secret? Did it read your mind?'
"I have no clue. Either it knew somebody else who has the same knowledge as I do, or it had read mine. But I had forgotten that song entirely until it sang it, so I'm betting it's the former."
'The secret seventh?'
"Perhaps. That might also mean that our worst fears are true, that the seventh is a Rocket. At least he's working as a double agent, so he shouldn't be entirely bad."
'Don't worry. If he is an enemy we will just neutralise him like always.'
"Thanks, Simba."
The rest of their flight went by silently. Halfway through, a ring of Volkner's poketch got him to check what was going on. Squeaky could see a frown setting on Volkner's face after reading what had gotten his attention.
"Route 44? That's near Blackthorn, isn't it? Why the hell is Skye there? Why did she only send me her location- Jarvis? What do you mean by a large scale gas attack?"
The poketch began to beep once more. Squeaky assumed that Jarvis is explaining to Volkner through the screen what it currently knows.
"Poison… Could it be Petrel? He's one of those who we have no idea where he may be at." Volkner muttered to himself. The rest of them stayed silent, allowing their trainer to properly organise his thoughts. After a short while, Volkner spoke again.
"Jarvis, link me to Flint. He should still be at Blackthorn."
The call connected within seconds.
"Howdy, Volk! This is not a good time for a- Take down that guy on the left first- Call! Your info isn't accurate at all you fucking lazyass! The number of Rockets at Blackthorn is way more than expected! You hear that, you lazy bastard?! WAY more than expected!"
"Go check on Route 44! I suspect that the gas attack on Blackthorn is Petrel's work and that Route 44 could be where he's at!"
"Petrel?! The fuck?! Alright, I will work on- Burner, Flamethrower!- Sorry Volk, talk to you later! I will go and investigate Route 44 as soon as I'm done on my side!"
"Thanks. Stay safe."
"You too."
With a click, the call ended. Even without looking, Simba could feel Volkner's mood getting heavier.
"Simba, hurry. If the Rockets had resorted to gassing an entire city, I don't want to know what else they are capable of if given time to prepare."
Simba wordlessly acknowledged his trainer's orders by picking up on the speed, soaring through the skies in a yellow streak.
The faster they end this, the faster they can all go home.
