Looking down at the small box Felix had given him with a smile and wink Bruno took in a deep breath outside of Carina's door before slipping it into his shirt pocket under his runa. Raising a hand he knocked and heard her call, "Come in!" Senora Guzman was taking a package from Caraina when he did. Grinning at him in welcome Carina finished what she was saying, "It might be better to keep them away from the cake, which you know very well."

Smiling back at her, "Thank you my dear." Then the older woman left after nodding to Bruno.

Picking up the small pile of fabric from her chair Carina said, "I was about to have dinner if you want some."

Taking a deep breath, "That would be great, thanks."

Another smile at him, "Of course." Then starting to set the table as he made sure the door was shut and locked from the outside world, "I have some leftover sancocho from the latest batch of weddings and christenings."

Rolling his eyes, "Everyone pays you in food."

Shrugging, "That's what a good trade brings." Setting down the glasses and jug of water, "Do you want cream with it?" He shook his head and they settled down to eat.

It was hard for Bruno to fully relax this time. The box in his chest pocket seemed to be burning into him as they ate their meal. After cleaning up he burst out, "Carina."

As she looked at him startled, "What is it Bruno?"

He realized she had been telling him something but he had been too nervous to listen. Swallowing, "Sorry, sorry I just have something I want to ask you and it's distracting me from everything else."

Looking at him from where she stood by the sink she wiped her hands before stepping forward to sit at the table, "Alright, what is it?" He chewed his lip trying to find the words as she watched him patiently.

Finally he broke the silence, "I've been thinking about who I would like to.. Maybe if I could…" She was still looking at him and waved a hand slightly, encouragingly. Finally he just took out the small box and handed it to her, "I had this made for you."

Taking it, "Thank you Bruno." Opening it to see the ring, "Does the question have to do with how I would wear it?"

"M-more of what it would represent," he answered. Finally getting on one knee and holding the back of he box while Carina's hand was underneath it, "W-will you m-marry m-me?"

A smile far brighter than the sun broke out on her face, "Yes." Tears running down her face, "I will marry you." Throwing her arms around him she kissed him full on the mouth before settling with her head against his shoulder leaning against him, "I thought you would never ask me." After he slipped the ring onto her finger they kissed again, sitting there on the floor of her kitchen content with their world.
