Chapter 8s2: Me and the boys (part2)

"Soo you've said you know how to suggest things to people.. how do you do this?" Balto asked Dallas as the three of them left the backstreet. "Oh you see, humans thinks that they're a way smarter than we, theyre amazed when you do something clever.. they font really know we understand much. If you show your intelligence to right human you will live a good life... simply saying you have to outsmart humans by your own way. and to be honest its not that hard." Dallas said chilly, Balto and Kaltag looked at ech others impressed in silence. "Soo what does that mean in my example? What should i do to live good life?" Kaltag asked as they take a road leading to boiler room. "Let me think.. you want to live aside youngster or child right?" Dal asked. "Yes, i really want to." Kaltag asked. "Okey then, when we meet my owner later remember some things. Kids are energetic and like to play, so you have to show that you like the same, you have to show that youre caring and polite, also show that you like kids and that youre not aggressive. Thats really important. My owner will exam you, dont worry and stick to what i said." Dallas explained. "To be honest i think that youre more in charge in this project than your owner." Balto laughed. "Yea you can say so." He smiled and hold the door for hes friends.

"Okey where we sitting?" Kaltag asked. "I guess in our favourite place" Balto moved to crate standing in corner of boiler room. "This place changed.. won't that be surprise for humans seeing something familiar to their restaurants?" Balto asked a bit worried about the evolution of dogs behaviour. "No worries Balto, no human is looking in here." Dal said. "You havent been here for a while Balto, have you?" Kaltag said. "Last time i was here on our last boys evening." Balto said. "You have to come here much often, its a better place now." Kaltag left two of those and went to demale dog in other corner. "Is it safe to have a place like this? What if humans find out?" Balto asked Dallas. "You think someone gonna belive someone saying that dogs have their restaurant?" Dal laughed. "Maybe you right.." As Balto said this Kaltag came back with some meat followed by female dog bringing bowl with some liquid. "Enjoy boys. Call me if you need something." Said the leaving husky. "What is this?" Balto said sniffing bowl. "Lets say we are using what humans waste. - Kaltag said. - now chill and enjoy our meal, i traded three bones for this." "I cant believe, how this place changed." Balto said and started to eat beef. Dallas started to drink some of the liquid from bowl, so did Kaltag after him, they left some for Balto. Both of them are looking at Balto waiting for him to drink. "What is this?" Balto asked. "Come on drink Balto" Kaltag said. Balto wasn't really happy to do so but he did. "Youre happy now?" Balto said with bit of smile, he fond out it wasnt so bad. "see now? were civilised dogs community. Not freeks sleeping in holes in middle of the forest." Kaltag said, Balto kinda ignored that and looked around place that used to be just boiler room. He noticed Kodi and hes sled team. "Looks likemy son is here too. Seems hes having fun.. maybe this place isn't that bad at all." Balto said quietly to himself. "Umm Balto? Are you with us?" Dallas said. "Huh? Ah yea.. yes sorry, i got distracted for a moment." Balto said, now focused on talk. "You seems really distracted today. Something happened?" Kaltag asked. "Yea, you see my sister visited me, we havent seen each other for a while. I found out my mother is dead.." Balto said, hes ears lowered. "Im really sorry Balto." Dallas said. "The thing is that she died here in Nome and i found her remains at Patrick house... and those remains had teeth marks. Some dog had to help humans to put her down.. and this makes me feel uncomfortable." Balto said, feeling better to say that out to someone who he trust. "Oh my. Im soo sorry Balto. -Dallas feel bad for what happened to hes friend. - Ill help you find out who did that." "Im not sure if there is chance to find out now, its been a long while ago." Balto said. "At least we will try to." As Dallas and Balto talked Kaltag bringed another bowl to drink with friends.

They drank a bit more before Dallas reminded what he wanted to talk about with Balto. "Oh Balto, remember what I said about that dog... i mean Steele?" Dallas said feeling a bit dizzy. "Yea, i do remember." Balto answered feeling the same. "I saw him passing through backstreets." Dallas said. "Thats not good that will bring problems for sure." Balto said. "Having Steele around always means problems." Kaltag added, with hes head laying on the crate. "Are you okay Kaltag? You doesn't look too good." Balto asked worried. "Neither do you, im fine im just drunk." He laughs. "We were drinking alcohol for all that time?" Balto asked. "Yea isnt that good?" Dallas asked. "even if so its not good, what if some human notice drunk dogs on streets?" Balto asked feeling that hes a bit drunk too. "No worries Balto, chill. Humans are at homes now, its something like 1am." Dallas said, as he got up. "Lets go before Kaltag spend all hes bones." Three of them left boiler room. "Kaltag hou cant be drinking like this if you want to be owned by human child." Balto said. "I know i know.. sorry im just feeling lonely and other stuff.." Kaltag said. They followed Dallas just to find out theyre standing on hill above Nome. "What are qe doing here? ...wow its really hard to focus after drinking that." Balto wasn't happy that he drank too much, he font like to loose control of hes destiny. "Come on see this fresh snow?" Dallas said, Kaltag laugh."I do" "Lets slide down this hill, i watched children doing this." He took spruce branch and sit on it. "Come on guys!" Dallas said. Kaltag did the same. "Youre acting like pups guys." Balto said. "Dont be grumpy, have fun!" Balto took brunch and did the same. "Last one at the end is dumb cat!" Dallas said and all three of them slided down.
