Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Fearful Flames. Enjoy the 2000-word chapter. I don't own GC, Tom Siddell and a few others do.
He looked at the woman, flames dancing from his body as he gazed at her with confusion. The look of curiosity in his amber eyes must have been visible to her because she giggled to him as she slowly drew closer, curious as to what a being who burned like this was doing here.
"STOP!" He yelled before he looked at her with interest. "Stop, it burns everything around me. I can't stop it. I don't know HOW to stop it. I want to." He said before shaking his head, unsure of what came next.
She took several steps forward, curious as to what happened next. He could see she wore no shoes, purely exposing her feet more openly to the flames. He could do nothing to protect her. He wanted to say something to stop her when it came down to it. He was quite hopeful that she took the hint.
"Why are you out here alone?" She questioned as he pulled his coat close openly. "If it was so easy to control that stuff? Everyone would be doing it." She put in before he backpedaled for a few moments.
He was quite hopeful she took the hint and left. This encounter was the last thing he wanted to happen. He knew something was going on. Did she personally know him or something? He couldn't tell. He hadn't the foggiest clue as to how they had met if she did. It felt so foggy in his head, but then again?
He didn't recall much of anything when it came down to it. If he did? Then it was always in bits and pieces. It wasn't like he had much with him running away from monsters.
'This feels like a dream that I hadn't been through.' He thought as he shook his head.
"What were you doing here?" She questioned as he shook his head.
"Trying to be alone in this forest without killing someone." He stated as he sighed, more flames dancing over his person. "Which you either seem to want to die, or you want something from me. Tell me the truth, what are you doing here? These flames will kill people when it comes down to it." He stated before he leaned on the tree behind him.
It was burned down entirely. He looked at her before gesturing to the tree behind him.
"See? Fire, as in it burns things, why are we still having this talk?" He questioned before he sighed. "Trust me, everything around me burns. It's all that EVER happens. You shouldn't be around me, it's just how more people are burning." He questioned to which she was given a slight nod as he clicked his jaw against him.
He hummed to himself as he shook his head. This girl lacked any type of self-restraint or preservation. Did she want to die so badly that she had sought him out in this manner? Because it angered him how she felt about this. He would not kill someone who he didn't want to, it was not funny nor a good thing in his life, if it was? Then he'd have stayed home.
"Because I can stop that fire." She said as she slowly started to walk up to him. "You know when it came down it? I've seen plenty of things when it came down to it. You're not the weirdest person I've seen today, trust me. If you could kill me? I'd be gone or screaming. You were born with that type of power, weren't you?" She questioned as she slowly walked closer, staring at the fires as he hummed to himself.
How did she know? He was curious as he hummed to himself as he clicked his tongue. He was quite curious as to how this would go.
"Do you want something to happen here? What are you talking about?" He questioned as he shook his head back and forth. "You don't seem to care about what happens next. How do you know more about this fire? There's nothing… Normal, about this. How could there be anything close to this? It's not normal, it's not natural at all." He stated as he sighed.
"Because I've seen people similar to you before. Do you think this makes you a monster?" Annie asked to which he frowned to himself while he started to think of what to say to her.
The annoyance he felt was equal to the surprise he had in his body. There was simply nothing to suggest that she knew about him as he didn't know who she was. Still? If she did know him when it came down to it? Then he was curious as to how she knew such a thing.
"No," He started to say with a small roll of his eyes. "Who are you?" He added before he raised an eyebrow.
"Annie." The woman stated while he shook his head back and forth. "And who are you? I know what you are, but not who you are." The woman added to which he frowned.
"Oliver." He stated as he shook a hand while he looked back and forth. "Why? Do you think this can be cured? It's not some sort of disease that just goes away." He added while he raised an eyebrow.
"Because there are more dangerous things than this," Annie added to which there was a weird sense of amusement. "Trust me. I've dealt with worse things when it comes down to it." Annie stated while he cracked his fingers while he shook his head.
"I'm going to guess that there's something that you want to talk about at the moment?" Oliver stated while he held his flaming hands up while he did so.
He was well aware of how this woman was odd. She didn't show any amount of fear around him. it told him a lot at the moment
"There have been weirder things in the world than someone who's been lit on fire," Annie stated to which the burning teenager said nothing.
'Can't argue with that kind of logic. I still don't know what the hell this woman is. She's not scared by freaking fire blasting out of my body.' Oliver mentally thought to himself.
Oliver said nothing while he slowly stepped down towards the woman. He looked almost entirely weirded out by this as he started to think.
"Show me, then." Oliver stayed silent while he started to raise a hand to his temples. "Since you told me stuff. Now I'm curious what the hell that is… Unless you're lying to me." Oliver said while he raised an eyebrow.
Annie said nothing as the flaming warrior leaped down towards her. There was no real fear in her eyes which both terrified and interested him at the same time. If he wasn't someone who had a fire blazing from all parts of his body? He'd be rather thrown off by this woman rather than anything else. Yet? He was STILL thrown off by the fact that she wasn't scared of him. what had she seen to be this disturbed by him?
"Hmm," Oliver stated while he shook his head before he rolled his eyes and sighed. "What happens if I come and trust you?" Oliver asked while he frowned to himself as he crossed his arms.
Annie motioned for him to slowly follow him. Oliver only raised an eyebrow before he slowly started to think of what happened next. This woman was either insane, lying, or she had something he didn't expect and was telling the truth at the end of the day. He seemed to control this power that lashed out at every single thing around him.
There had to be some truth if this woman wasn't at all scared by the fact that he was on fire at the moment. he was rather interested in what came next. He decided to at least allow her to have some form of trust and allow her the benefit of the doubt.
At least until he formed his ideas and opinions on this. Then he'd go from there. He could control flames and yet? He was interested in if this was normal at the end of the day. He hadn't seen anything else that matched it at the moment, might as well have seen what the competition was at the time.
He cleared his throat while he frowned to himself and cleared his throat. He was rather interested when it comes down to it. Oliver said nothing and simply followed after her with the flames still cackling as he did so.
He tapped on his legs before he cleared his throat and started to best ponder how he cleared his face. He sighed to himself and looked at Annie. There was still plenty of problems with what to do next.
"What's to do next?" Oliver stated while he sighed to himself. "Escort the burning man somewhere else where he can bring the rest of the world around him when it comes to doing next," Oliver stated while he frowned to himself.
"There are plenty of people who can do worse things," Annie said to which her friend simply rolled his eyes at her. "I'll show. It's a lot more dangerous here than you expect it to be if I'm 100 honest. It will feel a lot worse if you don't trust me when it comes down to it." Annie stated while he frowned at her.
"What happens next if they aren't insane like this?" Annie heard while she frowned to herself. "There's a lot of creepy monsters when it comes down to it. It comes down to a lot of questions when I consider it at the end of the day." Annie stated while she frowned to herself.
She frowned to herself before she started to think of what he was capable of and what to do next. The more time that she invested in him? She was rather hopeful before she frowned at her and she sighed to herself.
"What do we do when we get there?" Oliver asked while Annie blinded to herself and sighed to herself. "There's a lot of plans to make at the end of the day," Oliver said while he crossed his arms and started to frown deeper as he did so.
This was going to be a rather long and tedious few days in his mind. It explained a lot of details that had caught him off guard when he considered it. He frowned to himself as he brushed off his clothes and seemed to glance at her with a raised eyebrow as he looked around before he sighed to himself as of the moment.
This had become odd, a lot more hopeful than he expected it to be.
It had been odd, yet he had no real reason to doubt her. No real reason to consider the idea she may be lying when it came down to it. there was at least some interest in her skills, there always was when it came down to it, no matter what was to come. It honestly made him question what was coming given enough time and effort on his part.
Then again? What did he know? She was either insane or something else given the type of chatter she seemed to give.
He placed a hand on his head and seemed to look around with amusement and annoyance before setting down.
