~The Next Morning~
"So you're saying that this girl named Isaribi saved you?" Ino inquires, "Yeah, I owe my life to her." Naruto says, "Even if that's so, there's no doubt that this girl named Isaribi was one of the people who attacked us." Shino explains, "Our mission is to protect the government's money. And catch the Demon of the Ocean." Shino states.
"He's right. All you have to do is look at her, she's obviously the demon thing we're looking for." Ino states, "Yeah, sure, but I think there's some reason for all that." Naruto says and I nod, "I think so as well…." I know so… "Yeah! Maybe if we were to go after her th-" Naruto get's cut off by Ino, "You're talking nonsense. You don't even know where to look." Ino shoots back at Naruto.
"Actually I might." Shino states and Naruto looks over, "Really, Shino? But how?" Naruto asks, "I heard something. There's an island out here that's the heart of all the people here being taken away." Shino explains, "Where do we find it?" Naruto asks looking intently at him, "A deserted island where the demon of the Ocean lives, Demon Island." I deadpan, Something sooo hard to guess… "Demon Island?" Naruto asks and I nod slightly without knowing it, "You know something, Y/n?" Anko asks me and I tense, "N-No.. I don't… But are you ok?"
"Yes, but forget about me, there's something I want to tell you about the Demon of the Ocean. This isn't some sea creature we're dealing with. It's a human whose flesh has been altered." This catches everyone's attention and I clench my fist.
"What did you say?!" Naruto yells and I look at Anko trying not to show I know something, "What are you talking about?!" He questions, "A good amount of people did mysteriously vanish 10 years ago but is wasn't because of any demon… They were being taken and used as live subjects.."
"Orochimaru…. Is Orochimaru mixed up in this current matter?" Naruto growls, "I don't understand… Orochimaru and experiments? Where's all this coming from?" Ino asks. Now externally, I might seem calm internally…? ARE YOU STUPID INO?! He does tests all the gosh dang time girl!
"I think I better start at the beginning when he first left the village. Over ten years ago…" Anko starts and I tune her out, already knowing what happens. Specifically, Oro had a strong desire, rather a lust for power. He started making Forbidden Jutsu's and stuff like that. Sooner or later it became known that he was not the best person but he traveled a lot and has a lot of private facilities outside of our village, naturally.
"So one of those is on Demon Island?" Shino asks and I nod, "That would make a lot of sense…"
"So, the people who disappeared?" Ino questions and I sigh, "They were constantly used for experiments…" She gives a shocked look, "What?"
"Kuso Orochimaru! What does he think people are?!" Naruto growls, "Play things he can do whatever with…." I mutter angrily.
"So what are we going to do?" Shino asks, logically. Naruto however, is not as calm and logistical, "It's obvious, isn't it? We get into their hideout!" Naruto stands up, "And we have to get Isaribi back!" Anko stands up a little slower, "It's settled. We'll continue and hit the Demon of the Ocean's hideout." She responds.
We waited till nightfall to start our departure, giving us a little time to prepare. Naruto's currently rowing the boat as the rest of us relax, leaning against the wood. This is when more questions come.
"Sensei, how long have you known about Demon Island?" Ino asks. Anko responds with, "It's because Orochimaru was the Jonin in charge of me." I sigh and look up at the night sky as they all give Anko a shocked look. My eyes widen slightly in pain as my curse mark starts to burn.
We finally reach the island and get out of the boat, "This way." Anko states and we start rushing our way.
"How is it, Shino?" Naruto asks as Shino uses his bugs to scan the area, "No problem." He responds, "Okay!" Naruto says and we all jump towards the entrance. Following the entrance is a stairway downwards.
Reaching the bottom we find an old rickety wooden door. Of course, we just roll in and look around, no fear of anything happening or any possible consequences. Nah.
"Birds, no fish?" Shino asks looking at the test tubes and just like that, the floor drops from beneath us and we fall. No one could have seen that coming. Oh right, Anko was left up there. Welp. I guess I could teleport to her… Yeah. I appear quietly behind Isaribi and Anko, watching the exchange. Isaribi pushes the Kunai being held to her neck away with the skin and flips Anko. She bolts out the door but she's not the only one who slipped out. Anko can handle herself. There's something I need to do. I think running through the halls.
I reach a door and hear talking. Slamming my back against the wall I listen in, "...vince her to come with us." I recognize that snake's voice! I think bitterly, "She seems stubborn to join us. But I'll try." Sasuke. Like heck he'll succeed.
"Wonderful~" Oro speaks and I roll my eyes, "I sense someone…" Sasuke says and I don't wait another second, bolting to where the others are located. Half way through running I roll my eyes and teleport.
"Orochimaru's not here. This whole incident was all his doing." Anko is saying as I teleport, "Oh, so this is the dope that's working for Oreo."
"Y/n!" Naruto and Ino unison in surprise and the creepy scientist man looks at me, "So you're the girl that Orochimaru was talking about…" I stick my tongue out, "You mean the Oreo or just… Oro… Snake man…. Mr. ssssssssssssssss…" Everyone deadpans at me, "You're kidding." The man says and I shake my head, "No."
"You're the reason for this mess?! Ridiculous!" Naruto yells. The man retorts, "Ridiculous? This is no joke, I've devoted my life to this research."
"What was that?!" Naruto shouts, "Look! This one has the physical ability to adapt to water." The butt-nugget gestures to Isaribi, "She combines the ability to breath underwater and the muscle strength to move freely and quickly. It's been a dream of mine for many years, to form a Ninja corps for underwater combat. This is the first step!" He says proudly.
"A Ninja corps for underwater combat?" Ino questions. I glare at the man, I could fight your entire army and you'd never win. I think coldly.
"That's right, a military corps able to move freely underwater that the common person definitely could not imitate." He states, "When that happens, we can divide land and land and completely control marine shipping routes! Wonderful, is it not?!" He exclaims and I hit my fist into my a palm, "So you've fallen into Oro's trap."
"What was that, you little brat?" He asks glaring, "Oh, just Oro's trap of promise of power and glory and all that nice schist." I wave him off, "But please, continue. I just love hearing about this." Slowly he regains his composure, "With this strength, I'll stand on top of the world." I snicker, "Sure. Like that'll happen."
"As I was saying." He growls, "I'll make Orochimaru regret abandoning this research." He says. At this point my face is red… not from anger… well partially but mostly from holding in laughter. Oh but Naruto's mad.
"People are not your tools!" Naruto says angrily, "Oh my you're so young, you don't understand the greatness of this research…" At this, I take the chance to… facepalm.
"Well, you're a guinea pig who doesn't know better." He says pointedly, looking towards me, "So I don't think I want you to understand." Oh? So now I'm his guinea pig?
"Bastard!" Naruto shouts and runs at him, to which Isaribi gets in the way, "That's good, Isaribi."
"Out of the way, Isaribi!" Naruto says, "No!" She responds fiercely.
"Why are you protecting that guy?!" Naruto asks desperately. I sigh, "I think she thinks he can turn her back to normal. I happen to know he can't for crap." I let out.
"No! That's not true! He's the only one that can return me back to normal!" She shouts, "He promised. Look." She undoes her bandages, "People are judged based on their appearance. They don't come near me just because I'm covered in bandages. A monster with these scales would be out of the question." She explains, "I want to return to my formal body, I want to be human! For that reaso-"
"You really think…. That after everything…. He'd be willing to do that…." I wonder, cutting her off, "Did you hear how much he just bragged? Everyone will judge you all the same, just by appearances?" I ask bitterly, "For being a monster? I could name at least 5 people like that. That I know. Personally. You only make it worse by embracing it… Proving them right." I look her dead in the eyes, "You're still human now, Isaribi." I say in a softer tone.
"She's right." Naruto says, "But you joined up with those guys to attack and sink ships." Naruto says, "Isn't that far more like something a monster would do?!" He asks.
"Stop it, shut up!" She yells, tears coming out of her eyes, "I don't want to hear it! Shut up, shut up!" she screams covering her ears, "Stop it! Are you bullying me, too?"
"No…. I-I'm the same as you!" Naruto responds, sympathy in his eyes, "You're lying!" She says shaking her head, "What are you talking about? You're a normal human." Normal… human…? Us…? Please…
"I want to be like you too!" She says and I shake my head, "You… really don't." I mutter watching as she falls to her knees in tears.
"Don't cry Isaribi…. I'll properly return you to normal." The scientist butt says. Anko then tackles Ino, "Look out!" She shouts as the wall next to us explodes, sending us all on the floor with the rubble.
"A bulls eye letter bomb. Thanks to Isaribi doing a good job of attracting your attention. Naruto winces as Anko groans in pain, "S-Sensei!" Ino says worried and I look over and point to the guy that just blew up the wall. I point to him, "Stretchy arms." I state simply. Ok, I can literally hear the deadpans.
"I'll leave the rest to you." Dr. Creepy says, "Let's go, Isaribi." I facepalm, "After all that… she still…" I roll my eyes, "Gosh. Nobody has common sense." I mutter getting up off the ground, shakily.
"Wait a second! Don't go Isaribi!" Naruto pleads, "Kuso…" Stretchy arms cracks his knuckles, "We'd better take care of this right away." He picks up Naruto and I just glare, If I interfere… Nothing too bad could happen… I think. He chucks Naruto to the ground and I pull out one of my Kunai, "Y/n!" I turn, "What?" I ask Naruto, "Stop!" I look at him incredulously, "What?!" He smiles weakly, "I have to… learn how to do this on my own!" He says then Stretchy arms grabs him, "I'm going to strangle you to death like this." He states and I growl. Naruto lets out screams of pain as he laughs.
"What?" Stretchy is now under Ino's jutsu, "Mind Destruction Jutsu, a success." Ino says and I nod, Good! I was about to kill him! Soon Stretchy arms's arms are tied to two supports, "All right, you did it, Ino!"
"Kuso! Let me go, let me go!" The guy screams, "Pff, why would we do that? You make a nice decoration~"
"That was dirty of you!" He yells, "Says the one who was trying to kill a group of kids." I say raising an eyebrow, "Yeah, what are you talking about? There are no such things as being too dirty or crappy for Shinobi." Yeah sorry bud, comes with the job, idiot.
"And you call yourself a Ninja?" Ino asks, tauntingly. The room starts to shake and fall apart, I grab Anko, "Let's go guys! The place is falling to pieces!"
"They're planning to take care of us along with the building." Anko says weakly. Naruto and Ino help me support Anko, "Oh you've gotta be kidding me!" Naruto says and soon we catch sight of a wild Shino, "Hurry the entrance is already useless." He tells us, taking no time to waste. We run towards said exit, "We were almost there." Ino says as we find the exit blocked.
"Guys, step back." I say and they all look at me with wide eyes, "Don't worry, I probably won't get us killed." I say with a small smile. I poke everyone once, each disappearing to the outside after I touch them.
"Phew, we're safe!" Naruto says to which I reply, "That was fun." With a roll of my eyes. I look to Anko, "You ok?" I ask, seeing her kneeling.
