Episode 23: Past Trauma Memorized
Still late in the night, after the incident at Ozzie's, Amara has lost consciousness and is now lying in bed. Aaron sits on the bed as he watches Amara sleep. He can still remember how Amara has gone into deep shock back at the NightClub.
Flashback: Couple of Hours Ago - Ozzie's
Asmoedus grins evilly and says, "Well well well, look what we have here…"
Then the spotlight shines at Amara, causing her and Aaron to stop.
"So your little lost daughter is here as well, with a batty hillbilly boy!" Asmodeus says in a mocking tone.
Hearing this comes in rather a shock from everyone, especially for Amara, Aaron, Blitz, Moxxie, and Millie.
Aaron asks, "What the fuck did you just say?"
"Oh, I guess you didn't know that you're dating Stolas' lost little daughter. Isn't that right, Stolas? What was her name again? That's right, her name is Princess Maribelle Goetia." Asmodeus says, turning to Amara.
Hearing about Stolas's daughter and the name leave Amara in shock, and so does everyone else. In shock, Amara begins to feel uneasy. The next moment her knees give weight and sits on the ground in shock.
Flashback Ends:
Then Aaron remembers the fright Amara has when they return to her apartment. It upset him very deeply.
Flashback: Couple Hours Ago
Amara hugs herself tight as she begins to move back towards the wall.
Then begins to asks herself in fear, "Princess Maribelle Goetia? Prince Stolas' Daughter?"
"Amara, what's wrong? Are you okay?" Aaron asks, growing worried.
Amara moves back until she presses her back against the wall.
In fear, Amara begins asking, "Why did you call me that?! Why did you call me that name?! Why did you say I'm Prince Stolas' daughter?! Why did you shoot me with that gun? Why Why?"
"Amara?" Aaron asks, stunned and worried.
Amara continues as her fear and tears increase, "Why did you invade my home? Why why did you stalk me? Why did you shoot me? Why did you look so different? Why... why... Why did you kill my parents? Why... please... why... Why did you do it? Mirror? Why Mirror? Why?"
"Mirror? What are you talking about…" Aaron says, confused.
But becomes stunned in realization, "No... It... it can't be…"
Just then, Amara clutches her head with tears falling from her face and screams, "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh!" And soon collapses and falls to the floor with her back against the wall.
Flashback Ends:
Aaron thinks long and hard of what has happened tonight, and now Amara is lying unconscious in bed. Still everything that has happened, is drilled into Aaron's head. Aaron then gently takes Amara's hand and holds it gently. He places one hand under Amara's hand as he places his other hand over it.
"Amara, I'm sorry this happened. I promise, everything is going to be okay. I promise," Aaron says sadly.
Suddenly, Aaron hears Amara grunt and notices her eyelids move slightly.
"Amara?" Aaron questions.
Soon enough, Amara begins to slowly open her eyes. The owlet groans like she has woken up in some kind of pain and slowly turns her head to see Aaron who is holding a concerned face.
She softly says, "Aa-Aaron?"
"Amara, are you okay? How are you feeling?" Aaron asks, frantically.
"I-I think so," Amara softly answers.
She struggles to sit up and asks, "Wha-what happened? I… I remember meeting you at the station to go on our date and…"
Amara becomes stunned to remember what has happened, "Asmodeus? He said that I was… was…"
Amara soon begins to shed tears in sadness. She then hugs herself as her body shakes.
"Amara," Aaron says, concerned.
He then hugs Amara and rubs her back in deep concern.
"It's okay, Amara. It's okay," Aaron says, concerned.
Soon, Amara begins to cry as she presses her face on Aaron's chest.
"Aaron… I… I remember…" Amara says in tears.
Confused, Aaron asks, "Remember? Remember what?"
She then wraps her arms around Aaron and says, "I remember what happened… I remember what happened from that awful night."
"You mean, the day your parents were killed?" Aaron asks.
Amara looks up at Aaron and nods her head in tears, "Yes… I know who killed my parents…" and clutching his shirt in the process.
"What?" Aaron asks, shocked.
Then asks, "Amara, I know this is going to be hard, but can you explain what happened."
"I-I-I'll try," Amara answers in tears.
She then begins, "It happened that night…"
Flashback: Many Years Ago
One night, in the Wrath Ring, many years ago. In the brown wooden house that is about two stories. It has a large fence surrounding the area. There is a sign that reads, Rusted Gold Corral Ranch.
Amara who is the age of eleven at the time is drawing a picture on the floor as her father, Jake and her mother, Cassandra are watching television. Cassandra is also holding little Roy who is already a year old baby and is sleeping peacefully.
Jake looks down towards his daughter and asks, "So Amara, what are you planning on doing tomorrow?"
"I'm not sure dad. My friends and I have been doing a lot, and we're kind of running out of ideas," Amara says.
Cassandra says, "I was thinking that maybe we can go out to a different Ring. We can go to Loo Loo Land in the Greed Ring."
"No thanks mom. I don't want to be in the same park as that creepy robotic clown," Amara panics.
"Oh Amara, it wasn't so bad. I know your first experience wasn't the most pleasant one, but you still had fun at the theme park," Cassandra says
"I know, but I really hate that clown. It's creepy, especially with that big grin of his," Amara says, and has shivers going up her spine.
Jake says, "Don't worry, if that clown tries to mess with ya again, it's going to be scrap metal."
Amara giggles and says, "Thanks dad. I really appreciate it."
Suddenly, Amara suddenly hears the door knob turning. Everyone turns their heads to see the door and the knob turning rapidly. Amara gently walks over, but the door knob keeps being turned from the outside, and the banging of the door. Jake quickly drags Amara back to Cassandra. Cassandra then holds both her children in her arms as Jake grabs the rifle.
Amara asks, frightened, "Who's that?"
"I-I don't know," Cassandra worried answers.
Jake turns to Cassandra, "Dear, take the children up the stairs while I…"
Before he can finish, the door bursts open, frightening the children, and making Cassandra clutches her children tight. Little Roy soon begins to cry from the noise. Jake stands in front of her family as a group of Imps enter the house, and with glowing weapons.
Among them is a tall and slender looking Imp. However, although he appears male, something seems different. Almost feminine. His white hair is a little long past the shoulders in a lower ponytail, and has white and black striped horns. He is wearing a beige button up shirt with brown pants, black suspenders, and black boots. He soon reveals his sharp teeth, but two of them are bigger than the other.
Seeing him, makes Amara frightened, but Jake and Cassandra are furious at the sight of one particular Imp.
"Mirror?! What the fuck are you doing back here?! I thought you left down after the shit you pulled!" Jake angrily demands, pointing the rifle at him.
The Imp, Mirror shakes his head and says. "Tsk tsk. Temper temper, Jake my friend. I'm just here to get my favorite student, my sweet little song bird."
Jake and Cassandra gasps in shock, but soon glare at Mirror with rage.
"You bastard! You're after my child again!" Cassandra angrily says, clutching Amara in her arm.
"What? I didn't mean to scare her. The poor dear overreacted a bit," Mirror says.
"Overreacted?! You stalked her! You sexually harrased her! You even tried to kiss her! And tried to kidnap her! If you think I'm going to let you get away after everything you've done, you're fuckin crazy!" Jake angrily says, not fooling around.
Mirror ignores Jake's wrath and turns to Amara with a smirk on his face.
He then says, "Now sweetie, how about you come with me and my friends. My new friend, Orpheus, wants to meet you."
"Wha-what?" Amara asks, worried.
"Don't worry, I promise that you'll be well taken care of," Mirror says.
But Amara shakes her head and says, "No. I don't want to leave my parents or my brother. I want to stay here."
Mirror smirks and says, "Well then, looks like we'll have to do this the hard way."
Mirror then points a black gun that has silver white marking and has an odd glow. He aims it and fires it close to Cassandra's head, but misses. Jake and Amara are shocked beyond belief.
"You fuckin bastard!" Jake angrily says, and charges towards them.
Jake then kicks one of the Imps in the face. He then begins to smack him with his rifle, but one of them is sneaking up to her dad.
"Dad, look out!" Amara shouts, and pounces on the other Imp.
Amara then punches the guy in the face and sends him crashing to the wall.
Jake laughs, "That's my girl!"
"Thanks pa!" Amara says.
Just then, one of the Imps grab Amara from behind and tries to pin her to the ground, but Amara is able to intervene by slamming him to the wall. Just then, one of the Imps then tackles Jake. Cassandra is holding Roy in fear for her and her family's lives, and worried for her husband and daughter's safety. Amara then slams her fist at one of the Imps' faces, while Jake is able to shoot one of them in the arm. As Amara and her father are fighting the other Imps, Mirror is simply standing to watch the brawl with an evil smirk on his face.
"I somehow knew my sweet little songbird would not be going down without a fight," Mirror says.
He then holds out his gun with an evil smile, "Then I'll just have to make her."
Mirror then aims the gun towards Amara who is busy fighting the other two Imps. Cassandra notices this and gasps in shock.
She cries out, "Amara…!"
Amara is about to turn around, and Mirror fires his gun.
Suddenly, Amara lets out a scream in agony and pain, and falls to the ground., clutching the left side of her stomach as she bleeds from the bullet. Amara continues to scream, like the bullet is burning her.
Cassandra screams, "My baby!"
"Amara!" Jake cries out.
He and Cassandra run to Amara who is lying on the ground in pain.
Jake picks up Amara and frantically asks, "Amara! Are you alright?!"
"Oh don't worry, I didn't hurt her too bad… much," Mirror says, evilly.
Then looks at his gun, "Of course, an angelic weapon like this is very hard to find.
"Angelic…" Jake asks, confused.
But realizes in shock, "Why the fuck did you have that?! You are aware this kind of weapon can actually kill…"
"High class demons like demon royals," Mirror answers with a smirk.
Jake narrows his eyes towards Mirror, "Yeah. That."
"No shit. That's the idea. I can't have any high class demons coming after her. In this case, it will help make a demon princess vulnerable," Mirror says.
"What are you talking about?!" Cassandra asks, in tears, "Why do you want my daughter?!"
"Your daughter? That's a laugh. Of course, you wouldn't know that you've decided to adopt a Goetia Princess as your child," Mirror says in remark.
"Goetia? What the fuck are you talking about?" Jake asks.
"Oh, you wouldn't know. Years ago, there was a Goetia Princess around two years old who was abducted from the Goeita Family of the Great Prince Stolas, one of his two twin daughters was stolen from their home. As of now, the young princess would have been just about your daughter's age, and you found her when she's two years old," Mirror says.
Jake and Cassandra are confused.
But Cassandra quickly realizes, "Wait, are you saying that…"
"Yes. It was surprising when my new master told me. Your daughter, Amara, is the long lost princess of the Great Prince Stolas of Ars Goetia. Her name was Princess Maribelle Goetia," Mirror says.
"So then, why was she…" Jake asks.
"I don't know why she was found in your farm. Orpheus orchestrated the whole abduction, but it didn't work out because one of the servants was able to prevent it, but instead of taking her to the palace he decided to run and left her in the Wrath Ring where you found her. I don't know the servant's name, but it appears that he thinks it will be best for her to raise her… away from him." Mirror says.
This is a big shock for Jake and Cassandra. Their adopted daughter is the princess of the Great Prince Stolas, they only know him because he comes to the Harvest Moon Festival every year. And from what Mirror is saying, Amara is a princess who was kidnapped, but one of the servants intervened, and was brought to the barn where Jake and Cassandra found her. So they ended up raising the princess without realizing it, and to be raised away from being responsible for her abduction. Despite being in pain, Amara has heard everything that Mirror says. She isn't sure if he's lying or not, but the way he's talking… she fears that this must be the truth.
Just then, Mirror asks, "Now then, how about you hand over the princess and we won't give you or your family trouble. She's not really your daughter, so why bother keeping her… Besides, if the royal family finds out, they'll think you were involved… So, what will it be…?"
Jake and Cassandra are stunned to hear the options they're forced to make.
Jake looks at Amara in sadness, but then glares at Mirror viciously.
He angrily says, "If you think, I'm going to give you my own daughter… then you have another fuckin thing coming. Princess or not, My wife and I raised her with our own two hands, and she is one of our special stars in our lives."
"Why, she's not even your daughter?" Mirror questions.
But Cassandra angrily says, "Amara is our child! If what you're saying is true, then whoever left her here wants her to have a safe life! And I want that for her too! We would rather die then allow her to be taken by the likes of you! We will make sure that you are one day killed and we'll make sure to let everyone know who you are, and what you're planning to do! We will protect our children even in death if possible!"
"Well then, it looks like we'll do things the hard way," Mirror says, and aims his gun at them.
But Jake then fires his rifle at Mirror's hand and knocks the gun off of it.
"Not while I'm alive, ya ain't," Jake angrily says.
"Why is it with you as being so violent? Mirror questions.
Just then, Jake begins to fire his rifle and begins to punch, kick, and attack them.
Jake turns to Cassandra, "Dear, take the children upstairs!"
Cassandra nods her head and picks up Amara in her arms. Despite the pain, Amara is able to wrap her arm around her mother's neck. Cassandra quickly runs up the air. Jake continues to fend them off.
Cassandra is able to reach the upstairs and into Amara and Roy's bedroom. There Cassandra places Amara and Roy on the bed.
Amara clutches her stomach and softly says, "Mom, it… it hurts…"
Cassandra then removes one of the furniture that reveals a wall. Cassandra places her finger on the hole and it opens, revealing a secret room.
Cassandra picks up Amara and says, "I know sweetie. I know, but we'll get you help after we deal with Mirror and those awful Imps."
"Okay," Amara says, practically in tears.
Cassandra then places Amara in the secret room. Then hurries to grab Roy and places him in there.
"You two stay here and don't come out," Cassandra says.
"Alright…" Amara weakly says.
Cassandra then closes the door and hears the sound of the furniture being moved in front of the door. Amara slowly reaches her arm and touches herblack talon hand to Roy, making him feel calm. Amara then turns to the side and hugs her brother in fear, trying to ignore the sounds of gunshots. Amara is so dazed and stunned from her injury that she is having trouble hearing much. She hears her parents shouting and screaming, multiple gunshots.
Time has gone by, and Amara feels that she lost a lot of blood, and it feels like hours since he's been in the room. She soon notices that she doesn't hear any gunshots anymore. Then they hear the sound of footsteps, they appear to be moving far away and in a hurry. Soon, Amara feels that no one is in her home anymore. She struggles to withstand the pain from her wound and pushes the door open that has the desk in front. Amara then picks up baby Roy and slowly walks out of the room. She slowly walks down the stairs, frightened and holding Roy in her arms. Once she's down the stairs, Amara stares in the living room with a horrifying shock. She finds her parents to be laying down on the floor and are bleeding, there are multiple gun shots on their body, and especially their left chests.
Amara is so in shock, that as she struggles to walk to them, she collapses on her knees as she holds Roy tightly.
"M-mom… D-dad…" Amara softly says.
Amara soon becomes terrified, mortified, petrified in complete fear.
She softly says to herself, "It… it's my fault… my… My parents died… be-because of me…"
Soon, Amara begins to shed tears with sadness and remorse, practically blaming herself for her parents' death. She hugs baby Roy close to her and begins to softly shed tears in sadness and despair.
Flashback Ends:
Amara continues to cry as she hugs Aaron in deep sadness. Aaron stares in shock and disbelief of what Amara has told him.
"Did… did Mirror really…?" Aaron asks, stunned.
Amara slowly nods her head and wipes the tears from her face, "Yes. I'm afraid it's true."
Amara continues to cry, "He told me everything! He told me that I was Stolas daughter, and that my real name is Maribele! He said that Orpheus had me abducted when I was a baby, and a servant of Sto- I mean, my real father- I mean… I…! He said that the servant was able to prevent my abduction, but took me to the barn in the Wrath Ring where my parents found me to protect me!"
She continues to cry and says, "I don't know all the details or his connection to Orpheus, but he must have got Mirror to join him, or he was from the beginning. I don't know! All I know is that he and the other Imps invaded my house that night! He attacked me and my family! He told me that Stolas and Stella were my parents! He shot me with that angelic weapon! He killed my parents! He did all this to take me to him!"
Amara continues to cry, but by then, her tears run dry and can no longer shed any more. Aaron is shocked to hear everything Amara has to say and what she witnessed. He just stares as he watches Amara cry, not able to shed anymore tears. When the shock wears off, it's replaced with two strong feelings: strong resentment at Mirror for his actions towards Amara, and deep sorrow for all the pain and suffering Amara has to go through. Yet, it makes sense to Aaron. Her favorite teacher attacked and shot her, being told that she is a Goetia princess who was kidnapped, her parents died trying to protect her.
Aaron embraces Amara with tears flowing down his face as he grits his teeth in anger.
In his thought, "So what happened?! Fuck… Amara… I can't believe you went through all that. That's why you lost most of your memories from that awful night, all because of what Mirror did to you. He scared you, he hurt you, and all because you were…"
He soon calms himself down from his rage, and knows that Amara's wellbeing is important right now.
He comforts Amara as he says, "It's okay Amara. No words can express that you went through something so awful. I promise to be there for you. No matter what. I promise."
Suddenly, Amara asks, "Aaron, i-it's my fault isn't it?"
Aaron becomes speechless when he hears Amara's words. The two let go of their embrace, allowing Amara to sit up on her bed.
She lowers her head and sadness and says, "This is all my fault. What happened when I was a baby. My family was attacked and my parents were killed. My colleagues and my brother were attacked. It all happened because of me. Maybe it would have been best for Mirror to take me to Orpheus back then."
"No. It's not," Aaron says, sternly, causing Amara to look at him.
"Amara, you didn't know all of this, nor could remember. You're not the one who decides to kidnap you, kill your parents, cause you to go into a trauma, or attack everyone. You cause all of this," Aaron explains.
He then says, "None of this is your fault… and I'm sorry… I'm sorry you went through all of this."
Aaron then lets go of Amara, and gently lies her down on the bed. Then puts the covers over her, "I promise I'll do everything that I can to help you get to the bottom of this."
He rubs her head and says, "For now, it's best to get some sleep. We'll sort everything out in the morning."
Amara slowly nods her head, but doesn't look like she's able to go back to sleep. Aaron notices Amara's state and thinks she could use some help. He turns to see Amara's guitar leaning against the wall close to the closet and has an idea. Aaron walks over as he picks the guitar. Then brings it back and sits on the bed beside Amara.
Aaron then asks, "Amara, will you feel better if I play the song your dad used to sing to us? Wherever he takes us camping? Will that help?"
Amara sadly smiles and nods her head.
Aaron then positions the guitar and begins playing it to make calm music. Then Aaron begins to sing.
Aaron:
Shades of night are fallin'
As the wind begins to sigh
And the world is silhouetted 'gainst the sky
Amara soon begins to feel at ease. And soon begins to relax.
Aaron:
Red shadows on the trail
Red moon shining through the trees
And the plaintive wail from the distance
Aaron continues to strum the guitar and whistles a bit.
Aaron:
Comes a driftin' on the evening breeze
Aaron whistles again.
Aaron:
Move along
Red shadows
Move along
Soon the dawn will come
And you'll be on your way
But until the darkness sheds its veil
There'll be red shadows on the trail
Aaron turns to see Amara is feeling relaxed and begins to drift off to sleep.
Aaron:
Move along (Move along)
Red shadows
Move along (Move along, move along, move along)
Soon the dawn will come
And you'll be on your way (On your way)
And soon enough, Amara has drifted off to sleep.
Aaron:
But until the darkness sheds its veil
There'll be red shadows on the trail
Aaron calmly smiles as he sees Amara is fast asleep in her bed.
Aaron:
Shadows on the trail
Aaron then strums the last tune of Amara's guitar and concludes the song.
"Good night, Amara. Hope you feel well in the morning," Aaron says.
Aaron then stands up, and places Amara's guitar back at its place. He then leaves the bedroom as he takes his Hellphone out of his pocket and closes the door. He then walks to the couch and sits down. He lets out a sad sigh as he begins to dial his Hellphone to make a few calls.
Somewhere in the Wrath Ring, one of Aaron and Amara's friends, Cyclone is in his bedroom and fast asleep in his bedroom. Suddenly, he hears his telephone ringing, causing him to wake up in surprise and falls off the bed.
Cyclone then sits up in surprise, "Huh. What? What was…"
He then turns on the lamp on his furniture, and picks up his house phone.
He answers the phone and begins talking with Aaron, "Aaron, this better be good? Do you have a clue what time it is? Did you call to tell me how your date went?
Aaron explains a bit about what has happened on his date, and Amara having a terrible shock.
Cyclone becomes shocked and says, "Yeah, Aaron, got it. I'll call the others. Just take care of Amara."
On the other line, Aaron says, "Thanks man, I'm going to call Eda. I think it will help."
"Good idea, partner. See you in the morning," Cyclone says.
"Yeah," Aaron replies.
With that, the boys hang up their phones. Soon, Aaron dials on the phone to call Eda about the situation.
Back at the Wrath Ring, Eda is sleeping in her bed. Just then, she hears her telephone ringing. Eda soon wakes up and lets out a yawn as she stretches her right arm and covers her mouth with her left hand. She turns her head to see the phone ringing.
She picks it up and answers, "Hello."
"Hello, Eda," Aaron answers over the phone.
"Oh Aaron, I didn't expect a call from you. I suspect that you and Amara are still at the apartment after your date," Eda says.
"I know. Listen, something has happened at Ozzie's and Amara well, isn't taking what happened very well," Aaron says.
Concerned, Eda asks, "Why did something happen?"
Aaron then begins to explain to Eda about what has happened at Ozzie's and what happens when they arrive at the apartment.
Unknown to Aaron, someone is secretly spying on him and Amara from the window across the street. That someone is Mirage. He uses his binocular to see Aaron talking on the phone in the living room. Then turns to see Amara sleeping inside her room.
Mirage evilly grins and says, "Aww, Amara is sleeping in bed without her little boyfriend with her. I wonder what he could be talking about."
Back in the apartment, Aaron concludes, "And that's what happened."
On the other line, Eda is shocked, but also feels strong sorrow.
Despite her sadness, Eda says, "I see. I… I had no idea. And as of now she's in her room resting."
"Yes ma'am," Aaron says.
Then Eda asks, "You're sure she's okay?"
"She's fine for now, but I feel what happened at Ozzie's and having her memories of the incident return…" Aaron sadly says.
He sighs and says, "I feel that it's best for you to come. I think it would be good for you to be there for her. I already called Cyclone and he's going to call the others about what happened."
"Thanks for calling. I'll try to get there as soon as I can," Eda says.
"Okay," Aarons ays.
Eda then says, "Take care of Amara."
"I will," Aaron says.
With that, the two hang up the phone.
Eda sadly sighs as she turns the pictures of herself along with Amara and Roy who are at a younger age.
Eda sadly sighs and says, "Oh Amara."
Back in the apartment, Aaron takes off his jacket along with his shoes and places them close to the closet. He then removes his jacket, and removes his shirt to reveal an undershirt. Then removes his pants to reveal his boxers. He holds his clothes and places them on the chair close by. He then brings out one of the spare blankets from the closet, and lies down on Amara's bed. Then covers himself with the blanket. He wants to be beside Amara to keep her company. Then soon enough, Aaron drifts off to sleep for the rest of the night, and promises to do whatever it takes to help her. His best friend, and the girl he loves.
Unknown to the group, Mirage is still spying on the two who are now asleep.
"Well well, looks like little Aaron is not letting the little songbird out of his sight. The poor darling" Mirage says.
He then brings out his phone and makes a call. After dialing the number, Mirage places his phone to the side of his head to hear the phone ringing.
Soon, the phone answers, and Mirage says, "Hello boss. Yes.I'm spying on Amara's apartment. As of now, the dear is fast asleep with her little friend. Shall I move in?"
"No. Remain where you are and keep an eye on her," The voice of her boss says.
"Of course. So what shall we do?" Mirage asks.
"For, watch over the young girl, and follow her movements. When the time comes, you know what we need to do," The demon says.
"We?" Mirage says, confused.
The demon is in a dark room, looking out through a window as he watches the day is starting to begin. He walks over to a couch and sits down and the light appears in the room.
As the sun begins to shine towards the demon, it reveals that he is wearing black boots, with black slacks tied by a black belt with a gold buckle. The light continues to reveal the demon wearing a black black vest button up with gold buttons. Underneath the vest is a white well dressed button up shirt, and a red bow necktie. He is also wearing a black suit jacket with small red stripes going vertical, and a gold button, and has metal spikes on the shoulders.
The demon Orpheus smirks and says, "I believe it will soon be time for me to officially meet the young Maribelle, and finally take what I failed to gain centuries ago. The blood and control of a Goetia Demon."
Soon, the glowing crimson eyes glow, and the light reveals his long black hair that goes past his shoulders, and his pale white skin. Almost human, but he evilly grins to show his sharp fangs as he knows it will be time for him to encounter Amara and claim his prize.
