Chapter 25

Luke had woken up sometime during the morning of the next day. His head was throbbing, and his body ached all over as if he had been tossed down a hill. And from what he gathered, the rocking of his room was because he was on a boat.

He was in this same room, alone and having no clue what had happened. He had been talking to Dad and then…out. He was knocked out by that dude, Henry. He wondered if Angel was taken too, but he would find that hard to because of those 'vampire' friends.

He got up to investigate who else was there. He looked out the tiny window in the room, and at least there was sunlight, Meaning no vampires…

He quietly Moved out into the small dark hall. He looked around to a few closed doors that he wasn't going to look through. So, he looked up toward the light of the top of the stairs, and he slowly ascended.

"Oh. Your awake."

Luke quickly turned his head to the voice, regretting the sudden movement and feeling the pain in his head.

A woman was at the bar area cleaning the surfaces. He moved in a bit more, and her eyes moved up in confusion. "Your bleeding?"

His hand went up to his face, then looking down saw nothing there. She moved to hand him a wet towel. He took it and wiped it all over, feeling the dryness come off. She leaned forward and pointed to places he missed. "you're a twin?" she asked, and Luke nodded. That made it clear that his brother had been there or still is. And as if she had read, his mind gestured to the door leading to the deck. "They should be out there somewhere."

He slowly walked out, his hand blocking the sunlight shining down on him. A table inhabited by food and drinks covering the surface was on his right. He went up to the table covered in food and beverages, looking around for his brother. Hearing voices to the back, he looked down and saw George out in the water. Emma is lying on a towel, sunbathing.

"Hey, Jackass!" Luke said aloud but not enough to hurt his headache.

George stopped his pace turning in the water to look up at Luke. His eyes went wide, and he quickly started swimming back. Emma looked up to him with a grin on her face. "Luke, your finally up."

Once George reached the back of the boat, he pulled himself up, and Emma put her hand out for him to help her up to stand.

George was happy to see his brother standing there. They must have brought him in sometime this morning. He and Emma were asleep. Well, he was sleeping. Until he saw that Emma wasn't beside him, he did hear her voice in the hall. He was talking about someone unconscious. When she came back, he pretended to be back asleep. He was angry that she was keeping stuff from him off and on. That it pulled him out of what he had been doing. He wanted to do more since hearing that Angel had been at Emma's house. But Something was keeping him back from not caring that everything was fine. George owned a straight face when reaching the top of the boat.

"Have a nice swim?" Luke asked, eyebrow raised. George exhaled but didn't say anything, drying off with a towel brought out for them.

"there's nothing wrong with that!" Emma said, all smiles.

"Yeah! You right, you right!" he answered with fake enthusiasm. Luke punched George out of Emma's line of sight. "Hello?"

"Do you want something to drink?" George asked, looking at him than at Emma.

Luke's face scrunched up with confusion. "Sure?"

"Water, please," Emma said, taking a seat on the couch and pulling her phone. Fingers were swiping.

Luke was about to say Something else, but George stopped him by nodding to follow.

"Are you listening? do you have any idea what I've been through in the last 24 hours?" Luke explained once inside.

"Can we have three waters," George asked the woman behind the bar. She bent over, opened a small fridge underneath, and retrieved the bottles.

"Hello!?" Luke asked again impatiently.

"Keep your voice down!" George said, grabbing his shirt and pulling him in close to whisper. "Were not alone here." Shaking his head when Luke looked at the woman behind the bar. "Now, quietly, didn't you find Angel?"

"Yeah, well, that's the thing. Do you remember when we found the comic in her stuff about Mom, Dad, and Uncle Sam? And Vampires. Well, they're real! It's all true! I went to the comic book store and talked to that girl again. That's when I called you telling you I had some news? They're legit vampire hunters, and she took me to this place by the cliffs away from the beach, and Angel was there as a prisoner. I know it sounds crazy, but I was almost killed by one of them. And I saw them change their faces and do stuff to...her.".

"Hold on? What do you mean 'did stuff to her'? You let them- "George questioned.

"Imma stop you right there. I did all I could, but they have the strength of like ten people. We fought them, and Amorita shot one of them. Remember the one we saw with Angel on the beach? He took her blood to heal. I'm not sure about what else happened, and they used mumbo jumbo magic to knock me out. Oh god," he said, his head falling into his head." Before that, Angel was taken by their leader. For helping me, he threatened to cut off eyelids for information. She stopped him and might have been punished by the way he took her away out of the cave. When they came back, she said everything was fine."

"And you believed her?" George exhaled slowly. "I'm sorry, your right. There wants anything you could do. Did anything else happen?"

"They put Amorita down in a hole after that. Oh, also, Emma's house was a shit show too. They just straight-up start attacking and saying Something about someone's brother. Once That was Over, we went to the club looking for you. When we got there, you must have already left; that's when Mathew appeared.

"He was there when we got there. Their siblings." Luke was shocked. He didn't even see A resemblance between them. "They talked a lot together, even hearing them say Angel's name, and I heard them say Emerson's. There's a lot of weird shit happening. People are coming in and out. Emma says their family. But they seemed weird. " George grabbed the counter, his knuckles turning white. He looked pained. "I didn't get much because I was pretty drunk and in other shit. I'm sorry I fucked up." George looked behind him toward the stairs as if expecting to see someone appear.

"What do you mean?" Luke began to ask, but a large shadow was moving toward them, and Luke turned to see a large man. He was walking in from the deck, behind Emma.

"That's a long-ass water run." She said, their arms crossed. "It's almost time. Take Luke back downstairs and George," she said, putting a long finger in Front of her smile.

"Hell, no, you're not putting me anywhere. I'm fucking out of here. Let's go, George." Luke turned to him, seeing that Emma held onto his arm, pulling him to her. Something was wrong, he could tell. The man grabbed Luke's arm and dragged him away toward the stairs, where he was pushed to the bottom. He landed on his hip and looked back up at the man blocking the light coming in.

"Mother- "a hand shot out from the dark and covered his mouth, unable to move as he was dragged back into the dark hallway.

XXX Hours Later XXX

Luke watched, unable to move from the spot he had been placed back on the bed, and this time was frozen in place. Sitting in the same spot for hours left his body aching. All he knew was Mathew spoke, and that was it. He had been hiding in a closet closed away from any danger. Ready to pounce when anyone came.

Angel's body had gone completely ridged. Skin paled, and her eyes were blown wide at Mathew holding her. As if she had seen a ghost. Something was not right, and he could tell. Something happened between them and tried as he might, screaming in his head to make him let her go. He couldn't do anything but watch her extreme discomfort. And needed to know why.

The only thing he remembered from the club was Mathew saying he would 'help' by taking her out to his car because of her state as if drunk off her ass. Knowing Angel, she wouldn't do Something like that in public, get wasted, and do Something stupid, especially with everything that was going on now.

"Let go of me," Angel spoke softly. Her hands were trying to peel his off her—small, almost unseen tears formed in her eyes. Something did happen, and when Luke was able to find out, he and George killed Mathew for hurting his little sister.

"And why would I do that?" He said, his hands moving upward. "You know I won't."

Angel's shielded her panic inside as best as she could. With every image resurfacing inside her from the previous night, replaying all over again in her head. And if things couldn't get any worse, the Yacht vibrated, and the engines were roaring to life.

No, no, no! They couldn't be moving.

Laddie could have gotten the message by now and could be on his way, but if the ship goes out to sea. Would he be able to come out to sea to look for them? How long would that take?

Angel mentally blamed herself for not giving any details of the boat. It could take them the rest of what sunlight they had till nightfall to probably find them. Maybe that could be a good thing.

David.

Maybe they'll wake and figure out where they are.

At first, she thought she could take it on, and Laddie would make it first, but with the new development of 'vampires' and the fact they were out in the middle of open death. She regretted it and wished he was there. If he does wake up, he won't hear her and will probably be pissed. She still had Dwayne, though, and her brothers.

Be strong.

"How are you alive?" she said bravely, pushing down every emotion.

"I'm pretty sure you know the answer. I have special friends like you have special friends."

So, she was right." You're a Vampire." She breathed.

"Due to unfortunate circumstances of an untimely death…yes. Now that we're back together, you can be my perfect first prey." She squeezed her eyes shut.

"Let my brothers go first then." She said bravely.

"You don't get to make orders right now." the hand on her neck moved to her jaw to turn her to look into his evil eyes. Angel rolled her eyes away to look anywhere but at him. He looked upon her face noticing her bruised cheek. His fingers brushed over it, making her flinch. "Sorry about that," his eyes moved from her face to her neck. "Oh, but what's this?" now, his fingers brush over her new love spots left by David. "Looks like you did get some action." He whispered into her ear. "What else did he do to you?"

"Fuck off- "Matt squeezed her jaw painfully. She held in her scream.

"When I'm through with you. Every piece of you will be bruised."

He was about to say Something else when he heard Something only, he could hear, turning away slightly and rolling his eyes. He leaned over and looked straight over at Luke. He leaned away from her. He let loose her face and gripped her arm, pulling her up.

"Get up and follow." He stared at him. With that, he turned with Angel in tow, and Luke could finally move.

Mathew dragged her along with him up to the steps. "Luke-y boy," Mathew grabbed Luke's shirt, pulling close. Giving him another good look in his eyes. "You go ahead first and wait." Luke had no other choice except to keep his feet moving up even though he turned his head to watch them.

"So," Mathew said with a pause. "Where are your friends?"

She ignored him, looking away. Anywhere But his eyes. She wouldn't tell him anything. She could hear him scoff.

"You can't ignore me forever." He spoke. His body was now pressing up against hers. "You're lucky I'm in a good mood."

"Don't touch me!" She screamed. He pulled his hand back as if to hit her, but the boat rocked hard, knocking Matt over onto the floor. Angel was able to get free and run-up to the deck.

She saw Luke in the Bar Area, looking from her now standing there and to the outside deck. Where Dwayne was now there, he was still covered in his dark clothes. He held on to two of Emma's Guards, now fighting and pushing them away as they kept coming at him.

Emma gripped George inside the bar area to keep him to one spot. Both were watching the fight happen outside.

Dwayne was holding firm in the daylight, being as cautious as possible. All the guards were attacking him. One of the men was now running upon him from behind. "Look out!" Angel said, beginning to run forward. Emma moved quickly, grabbing Angel and tossing her down with surprising great strength. Her body slid back against the wall, and Something grabbed her by the ankle, pulling her back. She looked back as Matt had pulled her toward him. she began to kick in his hand, and when it slightly loosened, she pulled his arm out, and the sunlight hit it, catching fire. He yelled loudly, receding into the dark. Letting Angel scooted away.

"EMMA!" he roared. She turned her head to Matt. "close the Shades!"

Emma yelled to the bartender, who was already shocked by everything happening to start closing the shades with the remote hidden underneath the bar. Angel got up and ran at her, almost touching the counter when Emma got in Front of her.

"Oh no, you don't," she said, her white teeth grinning wide. "You wanna get knocked over again?"

"Don't make me hurt you, Emma." Angel turned her eyes to George. Who was staring at both? Back and forth, his face was full of pain, wanting to do Something she could tell, but Something kept him back. As if under the influence, just like Luke.

The shades We're almost down from were from their slow pace, making Matt itch to come out. Angel jumped back from Emma and ran towards the top deck door into the sunlight to see Dwayne had knocked one of the guards down with a punch to the head that probably could have killed him. He grabbed another, tossing him over and out into the water. He now faced the large man who was now carrying into the game A large silver chain gripped his hands.

Dwayne moved slow, eye to eye with Emma's man. Standing firmly in the spot till someone would make a move. The man swung his chain fast, and Dwayne dodged it. The bodyguard may not have been a vampire, and with Dwayne in daylight condition, they could even be of equal strength. He swung faster once, twice, and a third time. He turned to look at Angel this time and swung closer to Angel. Dwayne noticed grabbing her in time, jumping away.

He quickly pulled her up and examined her. "Are you alright?! I'm sorry I didn't get here faster ran into a few problems; grabbing the boat wasn't as easy as I thought without breaking it open." He was swaying a bit as he talked.

"I'm OK. My brothers are inside, and so is Matthew. He's still alive."

"That douche bag from the club? The one that David ripped the jaw off of?"

She nodded. "Well, shit. We might have a bit of a bigger problem than expected. It's a good thing I -"From behind Dwayne, another man rushed him knocking Dwayne over. Dwayne was too weak to notice that the man had been coming. The only real problem was, is now Dwayne was the center of the frame of the deck door into the bar area. And Mathew was standing over him.

"Hi!" he waved, grabbed Dwayne's shoulder, and dragged him inside the darkroom. The other guard ran in fast, followed by the big one taking his time slowly, swinging the chain still in his hand. She went toward the door, but he knocked her back onto her ass and turned to see that they now had Dwayne trapped under Mathew's leg chains covering his legs and his arms. The big guy put the chain against his chest and took off layers of his clothes.

Angel pulled herself up from the floor, anger flaring. She was sick and tired of being knocked over. She gripped the door frame now looking for Something, grabbing the first thing she could see, a vase. On a table next to a window, she grabbed it and broke it on the top of the head of one of the guards knocking him out. It gave Dwayne a moment to kick the legs out from under the big guy as he reached for her. Instead went forward, grunting in pain. Mathew was now there, walking around Dwayne toward her.

"Come here." She stayed close to the door in the sunlight. Defining him, Mathew's head tilted, impressed, and in a quick move, Mathew's foot went up and then down on Dwayne's leg breaking it. Dwayne was in agonizing pain but didn't make a sound. Only glared daggers at Mathew, who grinned down at him.

The big man had slowly got up from the floor, moving toward Dwayne, kicking him twice in the face, and with help from the other bodyguards, carried him to the corner of the room. And to seal the deal, Emma came over, her arms lifted to unclasp a necklace from around her neck. Walking over slowly, she waited a minute as Mathew pulled Dwayne's head back by his hair, and she put the chain against his mouth. And it was of real sliver which started to burn through his mouth.

"Fucking bitch. Fucking bastards!" she thought, green eyes like flames deep within.

"Now, get over here," Mathew ordered, his tone deeper.

Everything was worse than they had planned. George was glued to Emma's side, and Luke was gripped by one of the guards who was wet from being thrown into the water earlier.

"If you don't come here now," he turned away, walking up to Luke, grabbing him by the shirt, and pulling him up almost entirely off his feet. "Then I'm going to start hurting them. And they won't be as strong as your friend here."

"Hey!" George yelled, Now taking a step toward them, ready to yank Mathew away, but Emma grabbed him. And his body stopped moving.

Angel clenched her jaw, biting the inside of her cheek, stopping her from saying every vile thing she could think of. But relaxed and walked over toward Mathew unwillingly. His hold left Luke with a smile of satisfaction, his hand out to her.

Once his fingers touched her arm, he pulled her toward him. The hand around her neck started to choke, squeezing tight. Her breath grew tight. Her eyes never went to his, though.

Again, George put more force into taking the step to reach and hit Mathew's arm, pushing him. "Drop your hand!" he said through clenched teeth. Mathew only turned, looking down at his hand, smiling at him as he looked back up.

"Really? You think you can stop me?"

"OK," Emma shouted. "Everyone all sits down. Matthew, behave. I need to go find out what's happening downstairs. It's almost time." she left the room and headed downstairs.

Angel's eyes drifted to Dwayne as they walked by the couch. Steam from the burning was coming off of him. His eyes were closed tight. Tears started to build up in her eyes, seeing him there, half awake and half in pain. She could smell it from there, and it made her nauseous.

Matthew sat down, pulling Angel with him. Everyone sat except the guards that surrounded Dwayne.

"Now, where are they? Like I had asked before."

Her eyes were looking forward to sitting as straight as possible.

"Be nice, and maybe I'll- "

"Why don't you Go back to hell..." She spoke. "Garbage. Less than dirt. They'll be up soon. Any minute your ass is good as gone, just like last time." She grinned.

A sharp sting came across her cheek, knocking her over, and both Luke and George quickly got up, coming at Matthew, Luke was shoved away onto the floor, and George was knocked over the couch to the opposite side.

"You know. I was going to kill you. After I break you, however, I might be generous if you apologize." His hands crept up her arms and then towards her waist, to which she quickly moved.

"I would rather die than apologies to you." His hand stopped on her arm just at the elbow and, with a hard Yank, made her shoulder pop, and she cried out. "I'm not telling you anything, and I'm not going to apologize." She again yelled, clenching her teeth.

Matthew growled as he stood up, pulling her with him. "Maybe we should continue what we started last night. Then it shouldn't long after that."

"No!" She trembled, pulling against him, but his strength was overpowering. She did not move her feet as he dragged her. Luke jumped up from the floor and grabbed him.

""What's the matter Luke? Got Something to say? Do you want to know of how slutty your sister is? Go on speak."

"FUCKING BASTARD! How dare you even look at my sister! How dare you even TOUCH her!" Luke was able to set free his anger and his fists tight as the punched him over and over. Aching painfully feeling Something bones were breaking.

George also was moving closer to them away from Emma ignoring her as she yelled for him to get back. Knocking her hand away when it tried to get him. "No! no more Emma I'm done with your bullshit, and I don't care what you or that old fucker downstairs threaten me with!"

Angel had been released from Mathews hold moving away as George ran over but hesitated as Matthew laughed. In a flash grabbing Luke's shirt. "Morons."

Angel's eyes widened in horror as Mathew pulled back. "NO, stop!"

He ignored her, hitting George in the stomach, immediately collapsing onto the floor, almost knocking the wind out of him with intense pain. Luke, still in Mathew's grip, hit him in the face. Only once then letting him go. Luke grew still and fell to his knees. His hand went out to stop him from going forward onto the floor. Blood poured out from his mouth and his nose.

Angel's face was red, tears streaming down her face and seeing both the twins hurt and her own pain in her shoulder.

"George…Luke…stop. I can't bear it!" She pleaded. When she looked back up to Mathew, his face had changed, slowly reopening his eyes bright red. He bent over, grabbed Luke from the floor, and groaned. He leaned forward again and took a deep inhale of Luke's blood. The hunger was there. Luke looked up at his face with slight horror.

"Wait!" He stopped pulling Luke toward him and looked over at her. She had been shaking but stayed brave, stayed strong.

"I'm sorry. Please! Please stop hurting my brothers. You don't want them. You want me, don't you?" A smile crept upon his face, his fangs popping out of the corners. He dropped Luke, falling back down to his knees. She remained frozen, watching him walk over to her slowly.

Dwayne's chains rattled, trying to move to do Something. His skin was melting with every movement. The silver was getting closer and closer to the bone. His strength was depleted. All he could do was sit there feeling helpless.

"Don't…. do it! Angel!" George yelled painfully from the floor, holding his stomach. Luke, unable to speak once more due to a cracked jaw, spat blood out of his mouth, and a tooth popped out onto the floor. Most of his face was already swelling with bruises. Glared draggers at Matthew. Who ignored them both, still moving toward her?

She didn't look away when he approached to keep his full attention on her. He gripped the back of her head, turning it sideways and inhaling her skin deeply. "I can smell every bit of you, and oh, are you mouthwatering." He opened his mouth wide, fangs out.

"Well, Mathew, you wouldn't be trying to eat our guests now, would you?" Said a deep unrecognized male voice.
