Hello guys.

Becoming Lord Black was easier said than done. Once the healer deemed Sirius fit he started putting his affairs in order. He was sitting with Remus in the back yard, it was raining and he had wanted to sit underneath it. Of course Remus had wanted none of it and cast in Impervius over himself. Even if Sirius was drenched to the bone and Remus was giving him a funny look he was enjoying himself. The smell of wet dirt was quite peaceful.

"OK I have lots of things to do what should we do first."—He asked Remus who answered with a shrug.

–"You are of no help"

"You need to register as in Animagi. You need to go to the OMCP—Office of magical child's protection. — And start your guardian papers perhaps even start adoption for the future. You need to go to Gringotts and accept your inheritance but I don't know if you should do that before or after you accept your family magic and the ring. So that means you have to go to 12 Grimmauld place and you need to find a house to start the Wards around it, all before talking to Dumbledore."

"Easy"—Sirius said massaging his temple. –"I won't go to the ministry without being Lord Black so we have to go accept my family magic and the inheritance first"—He grimace the last thing he wanted to do was go to that horrible place. –"Tomorrow we will go to Grimmauld."

Tomorrow had arrived quicker then he wanted and now he was in front of his old family house. He turned around to look at Remus and gave him a very uneasy smile. He tapped the door with his wand and walked in. The place was exactly like he remembered though some new eccentric decorations had been added. There was dust covering the floors and in unnerving silence.

-"That is a lot of snakes"—Remus said looking around. It was the first time one of his friends saw his house. He had never invited them, not that his parents would've allowed it anyway. –"Yeah dear old mom had a peculiar taste, don't touch anything the furniture might be alive"—Remus looked at him amused but it change to a look of concern when he saw Sirius expression.

They walked down the hallway.—"Did Dumbledore told you what happened to the house elf?"—Remus shook his head. Sirius took a deep breath and apologized to Remus.

"KREACHER!"—He yelled and immediately regretted it. He jumped a meter of the ground when he heard her.

"WHO IS THERE? YOU! YOU BLOOD TRAITOR HOW DARE YOU COME BACK TO THIS HOUSE, YOU FILTH"

Sirius paled and turned around to see his mother's portrait proudly hanged on the wall.-"Mother" –He said coldly. He felt Remus nudge and point at the ground in front of him.

"Filthy blood traitor coming back…my poor mistress, There, there Kreacher his here Mistress" –The old house elf was strolling down the hall to his mother's portrait. He looked worse than Sirius remembered him; he looked grey and sick his tablecloth was so dirty the house crest wasn't visible. Sirius turned around and smiled at Remus.-"Welcome home Moony. You have met my mother"—He pointed at the portrait. -"And that is Kreacher"—

"HOW DARE YOU BRING STRANGE FILTH TO MY HOUSE…"

"SHUT UP!"—Sirius yelled—"I don't want to be here mother but I must. "

Kreacher kept murmuring under his breath.

-"Kreacher come."—The elf didn't move—"KREACHER obey or I will give you clothes"

The elf turned around narrowing his eyes.—"That's right Kreacher I'm the new Lord Black so what is it going to be. Obey and serve the house of black or clothes?"

His mother's portrait had gone silent.—"You are Lord Black?"—She hissed.

"Yes. I'm the last Black unless of course you want the title go to a Malfoy"—Sirius almost laughed at his mother's sour expression— "Don't worry mother I'm only here for the ring once that is done you won't see me again and hopefully I won't see you …ever"

Kreacher looked between the portrait and Sirius; he looked like he was struggling, trembling even. –"I will obey. Kreacher is loyal to the house of Black, Kreacher will be loyal to the new Lord Black"—the elf said through gritted

Sirius clapped his hands the sound echoing through the house.—"Great, first order Clean yourself Kreacher you look awful, second prepare the study, clean it a little and bring the family ritual bowl, make tea, Remus and I will go explore"

He pushed Remus upstairs trying to stay away from the walls. He passed all of the rooms and finally arrived to his old bedroom. He opened the door and realized nothing had change. His parents hadn't burn anything or even made his bed. –"Mi casa tu casa Rems."

Remus laughed when he saw the Gryffindor colors and the poster of Muggle women in bikini –"I bet your mother loved that one"—He said pointing to the Playboy 1975 cover.

"Ah one of my favorites"—Sirius laughed. He started going through his closet and throwing things into the bed, he taped his wand into one of the walls and a secret room opened, he grabbed all the books and notebooks he had with a few album pictures and a box full of letters. "You kept all of this"—Remus said surprise. Sirius had kept all the letters shared with the Marauders.

–"Dad built me that secret room right after my first year, my mother wanted to burn everything that made me happy. I think that was one of the nicest or if only nice thing my father did for me. I couldn't take anything when I left."

While Sirius cleaned the last of his belongings and unstacked the pictures, Remus read a few letters.

-"There all done, let's go"

Sirius and Remus quickly walked down the stairs. Took a turn to the left and walked down the hall, passing a gloomy dining room, and a library that made Remus stop abruptly. –"Come on Remus"— Sirius pulled him. –"You can look at it later, though. I guarantee you it won't be pretty."—

Sirius hesitated in front of the door of his father sanctuary. The man spent more time in that room than with his family, especially if his mother was going through a crazy frenzy. "You are not to bother me unless it's urgent".— He would warn everyone. He prepared himself and opened the door, the room was warm, and unlike the rest of the house, it wasn't covered in dust. Kreacher had done his job. Right in the middle of the room was a large wooden desk the fire to its right, a couch with a coffee table to his left. There was a huge bookshelf that was being looked over by Remus, the walls had a few family portraits and none of them had Sirius on them. The ritual bowl sat in the middle of the desk. Next to it sat the the family ring, a black band with a black star diopside in the center.

"Are you ready?"— Remus whispered sitting down –"Should I leave the room?"

Sirius shook his head and stood in front of the desk. The ritual bowl was as old as the Black name. It was shaped in the form of a Canoe made of black porcelain. He tapped it with his wand making it levitate in front of him, a dark aura surrounding it. He used his wand to slice his hand. He closed it into a fist and stared at the blood pouring down, the drops making a patter sound on the fall. He pointed his wand up to the sky, taking a deep breath. He said loud and strong.

I, Sirius Orion Black, son of the house Black, Hereby claim by blood and magic the Lordship of the Noble and Ancient House of Grimmauld. Let it be known the family magic now answers to me. Let the Ancient know the power of House of Black has returned. TOJOURS PUR. So have I sworn, so mote it be.

A blinding warm light came out of his wand and mixed with the Dark aura around the bowl combining with his blood and surrounding the now floating ring that absorbed it through the rock. Sirius grabbed the ring and put it into his ring finger in the right hand. He felt the pull in his magical core, the magic spread through his body closing his wound. It was strong and cold, he resisted he commanded the Magic not the other way. At the last moment, a Crow appeared In front of him, both bowed to each other before the Crow disappeared into the ring. For a few moments, everything was silent. He turned around to look at Remus, who was wide eyed, mouth open. Sirius smiled sheepishly—"Should have worn you, sorry."

Moony shook his head—"Reading about it and seeing family magic is completely different." –He said standing to look at the bowl. It was slightly tainted with blood. "How do you feel?"

"Surprisingly, I feel well balanced. Complete. I feel better than ever."— Sirius leaned back into his chair. He looked at the ring the stone glistening in the light; it was his he never would have believed it years ago after he ran away. The many times he played with it when his father allowed him to touch it or when he was dragged into the library to learn about his duty. He was Lord Black.

"What does the ring do?"

"It opens all the Houses that belonged to the Black family. It opens my Gringotts vault. It's also a Protection, blocks my mind from Legilimens and it works as portkey, though it requires a lot of magic to make it work like that. It also brings the family magic forward in case I need it."

"Fascinating."

Sirius laughed.—"I'm sure there are a few books in the library about family magic that would interest you, but right now we have a lot of things to do."

"Yeah, what do you want to do now?" Remus took a seat in front of him

"Now I check the wards, Kreacher!"

Crack!— "Master"— The elf bow so low, his nose touched the ground.

"Good, you're clean. Make sure you're always presentable. Bring tea."— The elf snapped his fingers. A tray appeared with fresh tea and biscuits.

"Now there are some things in my room, pack it all I will be taking it."

"Yes Master, will master not live here."—The elf said frowning.

"No, My grandfather had another elf. What was her name?"

"Teeny master."

"Can you sense her?"

"No Master, Lord Arcturus order for her to be honored after his death."

"Ah."— Sirius wrinkled his nose in disgust. — "So it's only you, very well. Pack my things and start cleaning. I want this place immaculate."— He ordered, and the elf disappeared.

"I presumed being honored isn't good? And why are you making him clean if we're not going to live here?"

"Honor is something my great, great, great grandfather invented, if the elf was loyal to a master or the elf died of old age it would be beheaded, a way of honoring them for their loyalty to the House of Black. My mother would hang them in the stairs but she liked to exhibit them, I assume they're in the drawing room."

"Your mother had a very peculiar taste."

"My mother was fucking insane. And he's cleaning so he has something to do. Otherwise he would go insane. We will need him later"

Sirius stood up and walked to the blank wall on top of the fire. He pressed his ring to the wall and dozens of name with the strings of magical chords, all in different colors appeared. He felt Remus next to him.

–"Too many people, is allowed to walk into your house."-

Sirius agreed with disgust, looking at the names Lestrange, Malfoy, Rosier, and Burgs"—"Great company, my parents kept."— He tapped the wards with his wand and only left his and Remus name—"Now only we have access to the door."— He activated the wards added a few charms against Dark Magic and some sketchy blood wards. He put charms against owls and outside elves. He de-activated the floo and put all the portraits to sleep. –"I have to give it to my ancestors, they were paranoid but knew what they were doing, it might work to our advantage. We're going to call this the safe house, for emergency's"

"How many houses do you have?"— Remus asked sitting back down cup of tea in hand.

"Well, now I remember we have a Manor in Scotland. I only went there a handful of times before going to Hogwarts; I remember it was quite big and it looked more like a museum then a house surrounded by a couple of acres of land. Right after I graduated, my grandfather declared neutral, locked himself up there under the Fidelius. I think that is where we will live. Other than that, the goblins will have to tell me."

"OK, so now we go to the Gringotts."

Sirius sighed while sipping his tea.—"Yeah better if we get it out of the way. Before we go, I have something to ask."—He put his cup down he had been thinking a lot about it. If he was going to face the vultures and Death eaters, he needed someone he could trust. Remus gestured him to continue.

"The House of Black needs a 180° makeover. I will make changes like bringing back Andy and see what I can do to get rid of Bella. I need an advisor, someone to navigate the Wizengamot and represent me with the goblins. Go abroad when I can't. Also the Blacks have a chair in the Hogwarts Board of Governors. I will also need a representative for Harry in case of emergency."— Sirius paused to let Remus absorb his words. — "I need someone I can trust."

"What are you asking Sirius?"

"I want you to be the Steward of the House of Black."

Moonys eyes went wide and stood up abruptly. –"Are you insane? Do you know how many hate you're going to receive. How many doors are going to shut in your face because you have a werewolf as Steward?"

"If the doors shut in my face, it means we don't need them."

"I can't be part of the Wizengamot it's the Law."

"You won't sit on the chair, Remus. You will give me advice and with you by my side, we can vote against and approve those laws that would benefit us. Come on, you said it yourself Voldemort is still out there. We have to think for the future. We have to think about Harry's future. We have to make sure that by the time Voldemort returns, if he does he has no power to grasp from. We're going to need/have allies."

"Why me, why not Andy?"

"Oh, Andy is going to serve her role. But I know she has a career now and I know she's going to make me beg for it. Andy will help us; she'll be hostess of my parties, gather with the Ladies and go to events you won't be able to attend, she will also bring change to this family, a muggle-born husband and a Metamorphmagus daughter. Like I said House of Black is in need of a change. Are you saying you don't want the job or that you can't handle the job?"

"I can handle the job Padfoot."

Sirius beamed at his friend. –"There is no one better than you, Nine N.E.W.T. O´s and E´s in all of them, top five of our generation, you could have any job you want but those stupid laws that these prejudice assholes put over your head have destroyed that, but now we are in the circle."

Sirius saw the internal battle his friend was going through. He knew that the ambitious boy who worked hard in achieving nine N.E.W.T. the mastermind behind their biggest and best pranks wanted this more than anything. But he also knew that he was fighting the scared five year old boy who was bitten, whose parents and society ingrained in him that he had to stay hidden.

"This is going to make a lot of people angry but you're right this isn't about us. It's about Harry's future. I accept I will become Steward of the house of Black. Consequences be damned."

Sirius laughed and toasted with his teacup. –"To the House of Black."

"To the House of Black."— Remus whispered
