Hey, uhh, its been a little bit, hasn't it?

There's no real point in dancing around the issue, so I'm just gonna get it out of the way, front and centre: As of today, Fogbound Castaways is discontinued, mostly because I suck. I mean, with so much as a TI-82 calculator for a brain, you could probably piece together that this story hasn't been updated in two years with no signs of slowing down. Fucking woohoo. Choo-choo.

I didn't want to be the author who candidly starts their own story, especially not an SYOC, doesn't exactly know what they're getting themselves into, and then immediately burns out before the first chapter even begins proper, but sometimes you need to look deep within yourself and say, "Yes I am." Because I am. Ultimately, it boils down to the fact that I haven't been anywhere close to my writing output as I was in 2019, and, hell, I had to force myself to sit down and churn out the last chapter, and that, again, was two years ago. There's just no feasible way I'd be able to do that for an entire Danganronpa story line.

On top of my output being shit, quickly after introductions began, FC fell leagues down to the wayside in priority, to the point where I would only ever acknowledge it in passing thought of that I should get back to it someday. Well, here we are. Hope this is what you wanted, me.

I haven't been capable of writing consistently, and whenever I do, it's frankly never been for FC, not once. Which sucks, because I still do care about it, and it's why I've been so antsy about discontinuing it, because the cast is all great, the setting is inspired by nostalgic memories of the Halifax's Pier 21, and Rei and Koromichi have a place in my heart, even if I am a terrible mother.

With that being said, there are a few specific people I want to apologize to, if you ever even read this, being the few people whose characters I accepted but had no other method of contacting outside of the initial PMs, being:

- Barbacar, who submitted Vivian (who is right up my alley for character design and motivations, I love her.)

- irwegwert, who submitted Mishelle (though I do see you in the StephenPlays comment section occasionally. And online in my Switch friend list.)

- thefinalpamofficial, who submitting Matomi (special shoutouts to you in particular, because fuck me with a jackhammer, her form was so incredibly detailed. I did not deserve her.)

I'm going to leave everything related to FC up, mostly because it's basically just this and the server I had made and there's no real point in deleting any of it, and also because I'd like to keep the memento. Though I don't have much in the way of plot details, if anyone's curious about it, feel free to ask. No sense letting it go to waste.
