Chapter 31: The Other Side

"One Fifty One."

The words came from the mouth of a blonde boy doing push ups, sweat beaded on his forehead dripping onto the ground as he released his held breaths with every push back up his red eyes stayed focused on the spot on the ground that he could see while moving.

He could feel his muscles groaning, a small part in the back of his head telling him to stop. Telling him to take a break and relax just to allow himself even a second of peace, but the boy only did another push up ignoring the pain only focusing on moving forward. An image of a smiling woman filled his head while he went down again, Kaina also did have the kind of face that could bring people peace; she was a good hero, the one that the world needed.

The blonde felt no peace seeing her face filling his mind, he saw the pain he ignored once before. He felt his regrets, he felt every bit of her effort that she spent not trying to fall apart only for him to be the person that finally pushed her over the edge damning her to a false freedom that imprisoned her.

He could feel the burn get worse as he pushed himself back again, his arms felt like they would pop off or something was going to tear if he kept going. Yet he went down again feeling his hands tremble underneath himself while more sweat dripped on the ground.

"One Fifty Three."

A rooftop filled Katsuki's mind this time the sound of subtle crunching of the gravel underneath his feet filled his ears while the sun felt warm as it made its descent peeking over the horizon as it fell. This time a green haired boy was there to admire the horizon with him while he couldn't help but smirk at the boy's dedication at being a good person.

Yet the image quickly shifted to the bruises that marked the boy's face while he was covered in the blood of an innocent man, he was hurting. Yet the blonde pointed and called the boy a monster, the irony since he was the one who created him.

He was his hero, he was also the one that left him more alone then he'd ever been before.

Katsuki released more air out of his mouth, it felt hot and was full of exhaustion yet Katsuki only pushed up again, that boy's sister she knew what he was doing was wrong but she didn't love him any less for it as a sister would feel.

He took her loved ones twice over, her brother and the man that she had come to love that loved her back. He watched him die and couldn't do a thing about it, he was slow. No… he was selfish, was it because he feared his own death or the death of the person he had already taken so much from?

Katsuki couldn't say, even he didn't know.

"One Fifty Seven."

Katsuki went down again while Izuku as a young boy filled his head, the boy was crying. Katsuki had beaten on him again with the same lack of mercy he always had when they were kids. Yet the boy was still standing there, hurt but not gone. Times had changed as he watched the boy get older but that had always been the thing that had never changed, his oldest friend was there no matter what yet he always pushed him away like he had done recently.

Lactic acid build up was combating the muscular structure of the blonde fighting and destroying muscle fibers hoping the pain would allow Katsuki to allow himself to heal and get stronger but he still went down again.

All for One haunted him.

He berated him but not in the sense of tearing him down, but in the sense of praising him for his greatest failures up to this point. He was a fuck up and All for One was loving every bit of it, he wanted to see him lose he wanted to see him break further. Katsuki could feel himself cracking at times at any moment he'd be in pieces just like the man wanted from him. As long as he could move he would keep moving without any sort of stopping until he's won no rest.

For Katsuki Bakugo, there was no peace.

"One Sixty."

Katsuki said before finally letting himself down gently, his breath trembling as his body scolded him for his self-destructive actions through the pain pulsating through his body, Katsuki ignored it using the sink he was beside to splash his face with water.

His vision met with the mirror that reflected the face that he refused to look at if he didn't have to, his shirtless frame filled his vision. His body was toned and built with sweat falling off of it the liquid droplets running over scars that had closed a while ago from his past endeavors.

They were his reminders.

Katsuki saw his parents looking at him in the mirror, they had that same love filled look in their eyes as they always gave him despite everything. Katsuki could feel his expression softening before his hardened it again before smashing his fist against the mirror cracking it causing his reflection to become distorted and unrecognizable. He didn't need his parents to give him a look filled with so much love despite everything he's done and all of his shortcomings.

He also couldn't stand the man he was starting to become.

The door to the room opened up while Katsuki looked over his shoulder, his red eyes gleaming as they met gold ones while the light flicked on showering the boy's frame in illumination causing him to huff before footsteps approached him.

A hand grabbed Katsuki's wrist while the blood ran from his knuckles to the marble tile on the floor splashing red onto a blotched pattern of black and white. The boy looked at the daintier hand holding his wrist before he looked up toward the person holding onto him.

"Goggles, you don't need to hold on to my damn wrist. I'll take care of it myself."

Katsuki said while Mei looked at the boy with a doubt-filled look before she guided him to the counter, setting the boy down at a bar stool, "Sit." Mei said while she walked to the medicine cabinet pulling out cleaning materials and gauze while the boy huffed.

"You're doing it again."

Mei said sitting down in front of the boy grabbing his hand tenderly looking at his knuckles while Katsuki huffed again, "Doing what? Training? I already told you that I was going to be doing that in the first place." Katsuki said as Mei flicked one of his arms causing the boy to wince at the pain.

"No, being edgy and taking it too far. You're still only a human being, you need to take better care of yourself."

Mei said while cleaning the wound on Katsuki's hand as the boy looked toward her, "I have to get better. I can't do that by slacking off." Katsuki said while Mei tightened one of the bandages on his hand harder causing him to wince again. "That's not getting better, that'll only leave you worse off when you go out and you know it." Mei said while Katsuki rolled his eyes.

"Whatever."

Katsuki said while Mei finished wrapping up his hand, "There you go you big ole baby. One wrapped up hand, try not to fuck up the other one while I'm gone." Mei said with a slight chuckle in her voice obviously trying to lighten the mood while Katsuki rolled his eyes again.

"What did I say about swearing Goggles? You make it sound weird."

Katsuki said while Mei stuck her tongue out at him, "If you can do what you want then I'll do what I want." Mei said with a chuckle while Katsuki shook his head.

"Aren't you already doing whatever you want?"

Katsuki said while Mei continued to look at him, "What are you doing here? You have school, you should spend this time wisely not screwing around looking after me." Katsuki said while Mei put a hand on top of Katsuki's wounded one.

"Someone needs to remind you that you have things to live for, I worry that you go out there trying to get yourself killed instead of trying to complete this plan of yours.

Mei said while Katsuki huffed, "I'm not going to be killed by some extras, there's no need to worry about that." Katsuki said standing up to grab his sweater while Mei watched him walk to grab it. "I've got the school set up by the way." Mei said while Katsuki nodded, grabbing his water bottle before his sweater unscrewing the cap.

"Good, then stand by. Has anyone suspected anything?"

Katsuki asked while drinking his water while Mei shook her head, "Nope. I plan to keep it that way." Mei said while Katsuki wiped his mouth, "I'll do my part, make some friends or something in the meantime." Katsuki said while Mei gave the boy a look.

"I've already got my friends, if this is you asking me to keep my head low while you dig into the grime then I refuse."

Mei said while Katsuki groaned, "We aren't having a back and forth about this. I've got this from here." Katsuki said while he started walking toward the door ready to slip his sweater over his head, Mei stood up walking over toward the boy placing her hand on his abdomen stopping him briefly while he looked toward her.

"You're in pain. Stay home today."

Mei said while Katsuki looked at the crosshairs of the girl looking back at him, "Keep your communications open, I might need you. Now get to school." Katsuki said while he moved past her, putting on his sweater fully before walking out of the door.

Mei looked at the door before looking back in the room that he was staying in, it was provided to him for his current work. However Mei was worried that if he kept things up the way he was going that this place would eventually become a prison for him.

She would keep coming back to prevent that from happening.

Izuku adjusted his gloves on his new hero costume while he looked around the area outside where they were waiting on their assignments from the work studies they were going to be going on now that they had received their Provisional Licenses from the exam a couple of weeks back. The green haired boy felt a mixture of excitement and nervousness while he was looking around, this was different than what the internships were going to be and he wanted to feel as ready as possible.

A sudden nudge to his back caused the green haired boy to jump before he looked toward the source of the nudging spotting a brown haired girl who was smiling at him, "Hey Deku." Ochako said while Izuku scratched the back of his head. "Hey Uraraka. What's up?" Izuku asked while the girl looked toward the rest of their class.

"Just taking it in I guess, I'm a little nervous about doing the work study."

Ochako said while Izuku nodded his head, "You've got nothing to be nervous about I'm sure you'll be amazing at your study." Izuku said while Ochako smiled at the green haired boy, "Thanks Deku, Todoroki told me the same thing when he left but I guess I still got jitters. I'm shaking out." Ochako said while Izuku smiled.

"Todoroki huh?"

Izuku said while Ochako gave the boy a look before waving her hands at the boy, "W-wait there's nothing going on! We're just friends! Come on, I don't need you thinking that too!" Ochako said while Izuku chuckled.

"I know, but you two have been getting along quite well since the training camp. It's kind of hard to not see anything you know."

Izuku said while Ochako huffed before giggling at the boy before Kaminari stuck his tongue out at the two, "You both are as gross as ever, this is why love is dumb." Kaminari said, causing Izuku to start waving his hands while Ochako just calmly waved her hand at Kaminari, "Deku and I are just friends, Kaminari." Ocahko said while Kyoka suddenly kicked the boy in the shin causing him to wince while she sighed.

"Have you ever thought that you were the dumb one? Please excuse the idiot, for he does not know what he does."

Kyoka said while Kaminari rubbed his shin, "Why so cruel Ji? I've been nothing but an angel to you." Kaminari said while Kyoka gave him a look, "That's an interesting way to say dumbass." Kyoka said while Kaminari groaned causing the students to laugh.

Izuku looked around at the group laughing and smiling appreciating the sight since around a month ago it was hard for them to even talk with each other sometimes since the incident back at Kamino, Izuku's smile dropped slightly while he watched Kirishima, Mina, and Sero walk up but Katsuki was nowhere to be seen the same way it's been since then.

A part of him felt that he would come back but another part of him wanted to try to find him regardless of whether or not he decides to return, if he had some free time during his work study he was going to see if he could find Katsuki or at least try to investigate.

The sound of heels descending the stairs caused Izuku to look over toward the sound spotting Momo heading down rather quickly, "Hey Yaoyorozu." Izuku said while the girl stopped looking back toward the boy.

"Midoriya."

Momo said politely while the rest of the group looked toward her, "Hey where are you rushing off to? Our leads are supposed to be meeting us here." Kyoka said while Momo smiled. "I have a different arrangement with my lead so I'll be meeting with them directly. I hope you all have a fantastic work study today!" Momo exclaimed while walking off again.

"Dang she was speeding off, you think she's running late?"

Kirishima said while Mina shrugged, "Maybe, I hope she's doing ok. She's been a bit dodgy lately." Mina said while Izuku looked toward where Momo had walked off to. Momo had suddenly become hyper focused on something lately since a month ago, Izuku noticed this but he never had a good opportunity to stop her and ask about it properly.

"Hey, Midoriya!"

A young blonde man called out jumping up and down energetically while smiling toward the older boy, "That's Mirio, I'll see you guys later on today!" Izuku said, moving toward the blonde boy while the group waved the boy off.

Izuku was going to get to the bottom of this and hopefully bring Katsuki back to see everyone again.

Katsuki stood in front of the doors of an office building waiting in front of the door waiting for the scanner to finish looking over him before the door beeped allowing him to enter into the building with his hands in his pockets while he kept a scowl on his face.

Public Safety Committee was printed along the first wall that Katsuki walked past as he was met with a second set of doors that the boy opened up before moving toward his destination.

Katsuki made it to the elevator pressing the down button sending him to the lower floors of the building where he was meeting with the ones he was supposed to be working with, the elevator finally opened up allowing Katsuki to exit.

The room was a dark office-like area with several people moving around the room while a sandy haired man yawned looking toward the approaching teen, "I almost thought you weren't going to make it, some lady friend holding you up?" Yokomiru joked while Katsuki glared at the man.

"You tell me, you've got time to stalk a teenage boy but not enough time to sleep. Makes people wonder what you moonlight as."

Katsuki said while Yokomiru chuckled, "You know exactly what I moonlight as, you however have to be careful. I know she's a previous classmate of yours but the minute she says something you'll be compromised. Then she'll be… we'll let's just say I hope she likes you enough to keep quiet." Yokomiru said while Katsuki kept walking.

"Nothing to worry about old man, the only thing you need to worry about is getting to this briefing that Dickhead McBird Brain is leading."

Katsuki said while Yokomiru chuckled, "You really weren't kidding when you said that you didn't like the guy. Sounds personal." Yokomiru said while Katsuki kept moving without making eye contact with the man. "That's because it is. I'd rather not waste time that I could spend busting skulls to spill my guts to some bored old dude." Katsuki said while Yokomiru sighed.

"This debriefing is on the recent case about a massive breakthrough, this could be one of the most important cases we've had in a long time."

Yokomiru said, causing Katsuki to look over his shoulder at the man, "Yeah, I'd figured that get your attention." Yokomiru said while Katsuki waited for the man to explain while Yokomiru cleared his throat before speaking.

"One of the children of All for One has been found."

Yokomiru said while Katsuki's eyes widened while they turned around a corner, "The children of All for One? That bastard has kids?" Katsuki asked while Yokomiru shrugged his shoulders, "I'm sure he does with as long as he's been around but the title is more like a code name for those who have abilities similar to the quirk All for One itself. Once we retrieve them the amount of knowledge we'll be able to obtain will be immense." Yokomiru said while Katsuki looked ahead.

"So a fetch quest for a holder of a piece of one of the most dangerous quirks ever seen, sounds simple enough."

Katsuki said as Yokomiru chuckled, "Yeah for suicidal bastards. I'm pretty sure they'll practically be on kill on sight orders for anyone that isn't authorized. You may not come back at all, kid." Yokomiru said while Katsuki huffed.

"Think I care, they're the fuckers who'll be suffering once I get there. The ones you need to waste time worrying about should be them."

Katsuki said while Yokomiru looked at the boy before chuckling again, "Scary." Yokomiru said while they entered a room revealing Hawks standing in front of a map with a layout marked on it. There were two others in the room with him, one of them was another young man with black messy hair close to Katsuki's age as well as another young woman she had her blue hair tied into a ponytail.

"Look who decided to show up, my own Boy Wonder. I thought you were playing hooky." Hawks joked while Katsuki growled at the blonde man.

"Call me boy wonder again and I'll bury you under the foundation."

Katsuki said finding a place to sit while Hawks nodded his head with a grin on his face, "Good morning to you too." Hawks joked again while another man sighed, "He's always like this, what crawled up your ass and died?" the young man said while Katsuki sent a glare toward the young man's direction.

"Nothing crawled up my ass, but we can definitely arrange the dying part if you want to volunteer Dipshit."

Katsuki said while a female stood up, "You two relax, we're finishing debrief." She said while Hawks nodded his head towards the woman.

"Right, debrief. We're basically going to enter the facility and pick up the package in a smooth and hopefully quiet manner."

Hawks haphazardly explained while Katsuki huffed, "You needed me for this task, why?" Katsuki asked while Hawks shrugged, "That's why I said hopefully." Hawks said while Katsuki rolled his eyes while the other male with black hair shook his head. "Why pick the hot head for a stealth mission anyway? Won't he just ruin it. This one has a knack for the disruptive." the young man said while Katsuki growled at the boy.

"I'll disrupt your nervous system, fuckwad."

Katsuki growled while the young woman sent Hawks a glare while he simply shrugged his shoulders trying not to laugh at the two boys who were glaring at each other, "Anyway, we'll be rolling out in 30. I need everyone in tip top shape by then." Hawks said walking away while Katsuki looked away from the black haired boy to glare at Hawk's back.

"Alright you two that's enough. How many times have I told you both I hate being the responsible one?"

The young woman said while the black haired boy looked toward the blonde who started walking toward the area where his costume was being held.

"You wouldn't have to if someone wasn't a prick 24/7."

The boy said while the young woman with darker blue hair looked up toward Katsuki, "What's your excuse?" the girl said while Katsuki turned his head toward them slightly, "Oh? You said something?" Katsuki asked before he kept walking until he left the room.

The young woman sighed while the black haired boy pointed at the door while she shook her head, "Just shut up and suit up." The young woman said while the black haired boy got up and started walking toward the direction of the blonde being followed by the girl.

Hawks kept walking while Yokumiru waited for the blonde as they started walking together, "Still think the kid's hilarious?" Yokumiru asked while Hawks gave the man a grin.

"Yup." Hawks said while Yokumiru chuckled.

"He's still torn up about his previous situation. The higher ups are starting to get worried it's going to affect his numbers."

Yokumiru said while Hawks looked at the man before chuckling, "Trauma aside I'm not worried about his numbers. We're focused on the greater good, remember? I'm not sure why numbers are the big concern around here anyway. Listen the kid's a little rough around the edges sure, but I know for certain that he's an asset. You wouldn't have fought for him so hard if he wasn't." Hawks explained while Yokumiru rolled his eyes.

"Point aside, we don't want this mission going awry because of anything emotional. All for One has heavy influence over today's objective, last thing we need is a panic attack that takes out a city block."

Yokumiru said while Hawks waved his hand at the other man, "Don't worry about it, I've got it controlled. No panic attacks, hell there won't even be a whimper out of the kid with what I've got planned." Hawks said.

"Somehow, I believe you but that doesn't make me feel any more comfortable."

Yokumiru said while Hawks continued to grin, "No one said you have to be comfortable, you just have to trust me." Hawks said before walking ahead of the man while the grin slowly faded away from his face as he made his way to his own office.

Meanwhile Katsuki was adjusting his costume. His sleeves went up to his biceps, both shoulders bearing an explosion symbol on them while the chest had a large X on it, the blonde looked at his gauntlets before looking up at the mirror in front of him.

Katsuki saw his face while he gritted his teeth, this was one of the children of All for One after all. What was stopping him from getting payback on that bastard, whatever grand maniacal scheme they were a part of, Katsuki could just take it all out with a swing of his palm.

He wanted to see All for One's face, the moment his precious plans begin to burn to ash with every explosion that comes out of Katsuki's palms, he wanted to see the defeated look on that man's face; he wanted to wipe that damn smile off of it.

He'd do it on his own without the help of his two new partners that he didn't ask for or the man that acts like an idiot strictly for the fact that he could. The moment that he takes a look at the face of whatever evil bastard child that man spawned he'd wiped them off the face of the earth.

Katsuki stood up grabbing his mask as he put it over his face glaring while he had finished putting on, he was going to make All for One's life a living hell from here on out.

That he promised.

Momo's grey eyes scanned the main lobby of the office of the pro hero who she was going to be doing her work study under, the room was a meticulous mashing of black and white tiles as if it was modeled after a chaotic game of chest.

Most of the decor reflected this same chaos, even the style of dress of most of the staff that was working on the inside of the building. The girl felt a little out of place wearing her flashy red costume in the mostly monochromatic area but she steeled herself and moved forward toward the receptionist who gave her a bored look.

"Good morning, I'm Momo Yayorozu. 1st year at U.A High heroics division, I'm currently here to begin my work study."

Momo said eloquently while the receptionist maintained her bored look before looking down at her panel and pressing a button wordlessly, Momo looked at the woman with a confused expression before everything suddenly went dark.

Momo's pupils dilated trying to absorb every fragment of light they could to gain some sort of vision while the girl instinctively pulled out a polearm from her shoulder prepared for any sort of attacks that may come her way.

Whatever kind of test this was she had come a long way since the forest and wouldn't be left in a vulnerable spot this time around, Momo shut her eyes allowing her other senses to take control. She felt the temperature of the air change, she could also feel that she was moving. Not left to right but down like she was on some kind of elevator.
The air smelled like there was cleaner recently used, maybe there was some sort of clean up whatever the case it had been cleaned recently.

Momo stayed focused on what she could hear listening to the soft clicking of some kind of mechanism that must be to the piece that was moving her. It sounds like it slowed down since she had first heard it, meaning she was going to be at her destination soon.

Momo steeled her body for an attack, if this was going to be a physical test then she needed to be prepared the moment the mechanism stopped. That moment came while Momo crouched to the ground, the polearm in her hand ready to swing, the last click sounded while Momo's eyes snapped open and she swung the pole in a circular motion spinning her entire body with it hitting the air.

Momo went to throw the pole like a javelin but a spotlight cut on revealing a man sitting in a chair, the other spotlight cut on engulfing Momo in light as well. The girl looked around while the man clapped his hands together once before pointing at the girl.

"Just as I suspected, you listened to the elevator mechanism to determine your destination then you preemptively planned your attack. I had to move my current position before you even made it down but you already knew that hence after that first arch you immediately adjusted to my real position despite not being able to see a thing. That's impressive."

The man said while Momo bowed, "It's nice to meet you sir I'm-" Momo said but was cut off by the sound of a foot tapping the ground.

"Momo Yaoyorozu, U.A. High recommendation student first in your class in terms of intelligence, heiress to the Yaoyorozu conglomerate. You'll be turning 16 years old in a couple of months and your favorite kind of tea is actually Chamomile but you tell your friends Earl Grey as to make things simpler for them. I know who you are and have determined that I don't care. What I do want to know is why you're here at my work study? There are plenty of different pro heroes you could have worked under."

The man said while Momo looked back up toward the man, "I want to work underneath a pro hero like yourself in order to further enrich my skills sir." Momo said while the man with messy black hair looked at the girl unimpressed while he sighed.

"The arc of your swing went from top to bottom maintaining a 47 degree arc through most of the spin before dropping down to 43 degrees at completion. That makes the blow in complete the other reason you tried to quickly compensate with the throwing of said weapon meaning that you are uneasy, you're here for something and you want to find it. Even at this moment you want to see if this will be the place that helps you find whatever it is that you are looking for. Is that right?"

The man said while Momo nodded, "I don't mean to be untrustworthy or deceitful, it's just I also don't want to seem like I'm here for purely selfish reasoning." Momo explained while the man sighed.

"I admire your attempts to be cordial Miss Yaoyorozu, however your true intentions are what I find way more interesting. Who is this person you're looking for? A friend? An adversary? Perhaps something more?"

The man asked while Momo fought off any kind of warmth in her face while she shook her head at the Pro Hero.

"He's a friend… He went missing a while back, I am here to complete work for the study of course however a large part of my time here will be looking for him."

Momo said with more confidence in her voice causing the man to grin while he nodded, "That's more like it, you're driven. That's good, you'll need it when you are working alongside me. Good you passed, I look forward to working with you." The man said simply while Momo looked dumbfounded at the man before giving him a look.

"I passed? I figured there was going to be more."

Momo asked while the man shrugged before walking toward a series of monitors, "Yes that's all. I found you interesting so you pass. Since you're my only student that managed to pass I'll be relying on you. Hope you're up for the task." The man said while Momo nodded her head.

"You can just call me Trace by the way, no need for anything like sir or captain. As far as I'm concerned we're all heroes on the same level on the field. "

Trace said as he started typing away at his computer while Momo took a step toward the hero.

"Since you'll be spending a majority of your time investigating anyway, I've got a case I want you to work on with me."

Trace said while pulling out a folder filled with different pictures and case files, Momo looked into the folder tentatively before her eyes widened at the sight of mauled bodies. "It looks like we have a classic murderer on our hands." Trace said simply while Momo looked up at him.

"Murderer? These bodies looked like they were mauled by some kind of animal. There's no way a person could have done this."

Momo said while Trace looked back at her with an unfazed look, "In a world filled with all sorts of quirks you shouldn't allow the degree of the murder to take your eyes off of a suspect." Trace said while Momo looked at the Pro Hero again while pulling out one picture in particular.

"Look at this, let's say this was a human being for a moment. The lacerations on the body match any common claw mutation quirk. The issue comes in the way this individual passed that makes me suspicious. This person wasn't killed immediately."

Momo said while Trace raised an eyebrow while Momo continued inspecting the picture, "Look here, the body has clear signs of healing bruises. Whatever had this person was clearly abusing them for a while before giving them a false sense of freedom only to kill them right afterward, they chased this person down and hunted them like an animal. It looks as if this wasn't strictly a murder but a bait." Momo explained while Trace nodded his head.

"That interesting and all but where are you getting the part that this murderer isn't human? There are plenty of sickos out there that would do this in the streets at night."
Trace said while Momo pointed at the picture again, "These are punctures, this person was slowly killed over the span of hours while being hunted in alleys. This thing took out this person's heart and liver, common items that any black market dealers would take but why leave the body mangled in a place we could find it?" Momo asked while Trace pulled out more pictures, noticing the similarities between them before looking at the young woman.

"We're the ones being hunted."

Trace said while Momo nodded her head, "I suspect that these bodies were being studied, the victims we can see here all have their hearts taken out of their chests. I have had encounters with creatures that had quirks." Momo said while Trace narrowed his eyes at the image.

"Nomu, though we've never had a case of any of them being intelligent. It's hard to grasp, we'll put it in the running as a theory. Because of the level of danger of the particular case I'll have you doing hands-on investigation with my sidekick out on the field. Any downtime you have I'll allow you to look for this friend of yours as well."

Trace said while Momo nodded her head, "I'll look for our person murderer and you'll look for our intelligent Nomu. We'll even make it a competition, investigate and we'll compare what we find until we corner this murderer of ours." Trace said, sticking his hand out toward Momo who took it shaking it firmly while Trace nodded.

"I look forward to seeing what you do Miss Yaoyorozu, Welcome to the Trace agency work study."

Trace said while Momo nodded back, "I won't let you down sir." Momo said while turning to leave the building.

Momo was determined, she was going to solve this case and find Katsuki in one fell swoop. Since the assumption is that there are Nomu involved that could have its own connection to where Katsuki could be since that All of One person is involved.

No matter what, he was going to come home.

{...}

A blonde man wearing sunglasses walked down the strip with his hands in his pockets while whistling the tune of a song that had recently gotten stuck in his head while he adjusted his jacket, he had a carefree smile on his face while looking around almost like a tourist while he continued to move ahead toward his destination.

The man yawned while entering his destination, it was a rundown building one that would have looked inconspicuous to the regular person. Hawks unfortunately was not a regular person, the blonde looked around before pulling a small button out of his pocket clicking it before flicking it to a random corner.

He turned to walk away but the cold sensation of the barrel of a rifle touched the back of his neck, Hawks put his hands up with an almost bored sigh while the man holding the gun narrowed his eyes at the winged man.

"Turn around slowly… Hero."

The man said while Hawks turned around to face the man with the gun in his hands, "That's it. Any sudden moves I won't hesitate to paint the walls with your brain matter." the man said while Hawks looked the man up and down.

"I guess this was the right place after all, only henchmen would wear outfits so conspicuous. Hey so do they have those in blue? I'd totally rock that If I could."

Hawks said while the rifle was pushed into his chest causing Hawks to take a step back, "Shut up, back up's on the way. We'll deal with you silently, having heroes snooping around in a place like this could only spell trouble." the man said while grabbing at his walkie talkie while Hawks pointed a finger up while looking at the gunman.

"Question, who's going to get here first? Your backup or mine?"

Hawks said while the gunman glared at him ready to pull the trigger, "We can bet on it actually." Hawks said nonchalantly while the gunman continued glaring at the blonde man, "I told you to shut up!" the gunman said while Hawks shook his head.

"My bad, I just wanted to apologize."

Hawks said while the beeping on the device became faster before it came to a stop, "I should have given you a better warning." Hawks said while the gunman pointed his gun at Hawks foot ready to pull the trigger but a sudden small and fast orange shot put a clean hole through the rifle causing the man to drop it.

The gunman looked up, spotting a foot point blank in front of him before he roughly slammed to the ground by a kick hard enough to make him bounce before hitting the wall cracking it as feet slid across the ground.

The blonde hair of Katsuki Bakugo came into the vision of Hawks while the boy looked at the man in front of him, "What happened to no fucking around?" Katsuki asked while Hawks shrugged, "It wasn't fucking around persay but he was easy I thought I'd at least get a chuckle in before you came and sucked up all of the fun." Hawks said while Katsuki huffed.

"I am the fucking fun."

Katsuki said before stomping toward the stairwell going down, "Has anyone ever told you that mindless violence stopped being fun around 30 years ago?" Hawks said, walking beside the boy as Katsuki rolled his eyes.

"How interesting, please tell me again. I think I might give a fuck this time."

Katsuki said while Hawks chuckled, "Be lucky you're mildly entertaining, if you weren't I would have had a bar of soap and a side of fires ready for you." Hawks said while Katsuki huffed, popping his knuckles.

"I get it because you're a big ass chicken. You would have fries ready you Kentucky Fried fuck."

Katsuki said before he kicked down the door of the main corridor revealing a bunch of armed men waiting for them while Hawks looked toward Katsuki, "Y'know Kentucky Fried Chicken is actually pretty good." Hawks said as the men went to open fire but feather cut through the rifle barrels while Katsuki blasted forward toward the men with a grin on his face blasting them as he began to fight with Hawks following close behind.

Haws pulled out one of his long feathers slashing at a few of the men while Katsuki back flip kicked one man before landing and blasting another one point blank sending him into the wall before he grabbed the arm of another man swinging at him dislocating it before tossing him toward Hawks who kicked the man out of the air.

Hawks quickly landed before beginning his feather blade down slashing a man before swiping the blood into another man's eyes before kneeing him in the stomach he used the man's back to roll off of before kicking another hard into the doors at the back of the hallway before finishing off the man he kneed sending feathers flying forward toward the doors sticking into its steel frame.

Katsuki somersaulted kicking a man in the face before grabbing another one by the collar and throwing multiple punches to his face until the man became unconscious Katsuki threw an elbow back mid punch striking a man in the bridge of his nose before the boy turned around and clotheslined him to the ground.

Katsuki then turned his attention toward the door putting his hands together for an explosion that tore the steel doors apart while Hawks sent more feathers down, Katsuki looked toward the men that Hawks killed before looking toward the stairs down.

"Orders were to kill anybody onsite if they attacked first, I think you are still playing a bit too nicely leaving them to recover. That's how you make demons."

Hawks said while Katsuki walked forward, "Then I'll kick their asses again, I won't kill random people if I don't have to." Katsuki said while Hawks looked toward the boy, "And what will you do when that day comes when you do have to kill?" Hawks asked while Katsuki continued descending down the stairs.

"Then that bastard better pray."

Katsuki said before the two men kept moving on the outside a blue haired girl ran across the rooftops spotting the building where Hawks dropped the beacon she flipped off of the building before waving her hand in the air sending a wave of crystal that covered the windows and the main exits.

"Sheik!"

The young woman called out as the boy with the messy black hair with a blindfold covering his eyes jumped off of the roof, slipping into the building to meet with Hawks and Katsuki, "Dia!" Sheik called out while the girl held her hands out manipulating the crystal she had formed, shaping it to cover the entire building while onlookers watched in awe.

Katsuki kicked another man into a wall while Hawks sidestepped another attack before slashing the man's back causing him to drop to the ground. Katsuki ran down the hallway jumping from wall to wall blasting enemies on the way before sliding to a stop before a door.

"I got it!"

Hawks yelled out cheerfully before sending a wave of feathers into the door damaging it before Katsuki started charging up a A.P. Shot, the sound of running caused Katsuki to look back at one of the men charging toward him with a blade ready to stab the boy but the man was taken out by a flying kick as Sheik landed.

"This was supposed to be a stealth mission, remember?"

Sheik said while Katsuki huffed, "Whatever, he dropped the damn beacon. That meant it was go time." Katsuki said while Sheik glared at him, "Why are you always like this?" Sheik questioned while Katsuki glared back.

"Fuck you, what kind of nerd names himself after a video game character anyway!?"

Katsuki yelled while the black haired boy pointed at him, "Says the guy literally named Nohbody!" Sheik yelled while Katsuki gritted his teeth, "After I kill this guy, you and I are going casket shopping!" Katsuki yelled while Hawks sweat dropped.

"Boys as entertaining as you both are could we at least try and focus on the door, they could be running away as we speak."

Hawks said while Katsuki turned his glare toward the older blonde before firing off the shot blasting down the door, they were met with the sight of several scientists scrambling around the room attempting to destroy any kind of research they may have had before looking toward the three men in shock.

Katsuki's eyes immediately went toward the large machine that was covered and ready to be taken out of the building. The green fluid in it bubbled while Katsuk narrowed his eyes.

The child of that bastard was there.

"You picked a bad time to nap, you prick!"

Katsuki roared before blasting into the room while Hawks started using his feathers to secure the researchers, "Sheik, grab whatever files you can, we'll deal with them." Hawks said while Sheik ran toward the computers.

Katsuki extended his palm to blast apart the casing but was smacked away by a mechanical arm causing Katsuki to flip backward. A robot stood in between Katsuki and his target and needless to say the boy wasn't even a little happy about it.

"Fuck out of the way!"

Katsuki yelled blasting at the offending machine while it attacked him, the blonde was sliding across the floor avoiding the attacks of the machine while it was hell bent on stopping him from getting anywhere near the case.

An arm flew at Katsuki that the boy smacked away with an explosion before running up the arm of the robot, the machine tried to attack Katsuki again destroying its own arm in the process while Katsuki flipped firing an A.P. Shot directly into the face of the machine destroying its head.

Katsuki stalked toward the case while the cover was falling off of it revealing more of its contents but the blonde boy didn't care, he could only see the laughing face of All for One in his head while he could feel his anger building up. Katsuki's hands sparked as he brought his arm back to destroy the case in one shot, hoping that this hurt that man in any way that it could. The only thing on Katsuki's mind was vengeance while he brought his hand forward.

The rest of the cover fell off of the case, crimson met crimson while Katsuki's eyes widened mid swing he quickly moved his palm slightly to the left blowing apart a wall and breaking the case open instead of destroying it.

Katsuki caught the body that fell out of it holding it tenderly while he gritted his teeth looking down at the breathing person.

"Bakugo? What's wrong?"

Sheik asked while Hawks looked toward the blonde as well, Katsuki didn't look toward either of them while he held the body of a small girl with green hair and eyes just as red as his. The blonde trembled holding the little girl in his arms.

She was literally just a child.

Katsuki swung his hand thinking that he would finally get that vengeance he had been seeking, he had already resolved himself to take the life of the bastard that was supposed to be the child of the man he hated the most. No one told him that it was a literal child, her eyes looked as if they were a little relieved watching death come her way.

Katsuki held her tightly while Sheik looked in surprise and Hawks looked at Katsuki unfazed while the blonde boy finally turned toward them looking over his shoulder towards the two men. His hands still trembled.

"Fuck."

Katsuki said while the girl went to sleep in his arms.

Hey it's Tobias and I want to apologize. This chapter took me way too long to write, not only did I move but I started my new position at my job and to top that off I was having a bad case of writers block.

I knew how I wanted the chapter to be be but structuring it was the hard part even now I'm still squinting my eyes at it but I finally got to a point I didn't absolutely hate so I'll leave it here and sharpen the next chapter in hopefully a shorter timeframe.

Anyways thank you all so much for your patience and your time. I hope you enjoy the read an I'll definitely be seeing you guys in the next one!
