Chapter 10 - Epilogue
During the years that followed the battle with Gaea, things seemingly went back to normal — or at least as normal as they could get when taking into consideration that this world was filled with demigods, who were constantly fighting for their lives against monsters, though those battles were getting few and far between as the years progressed.
The Roman demigods eventually moved back to their camp, while the Greek demigods remained in theirs; however, they became frequent visitors at both and had many shared quests and adventures, some of which didn't even involve a prophecy or life-threatening, world-destroying consequences.
The gods and goddesses kept their promise this time, they did indeed claim all of their children within a month of their arrival to both the Greek and Roman camps. Harry suspected it was because the gods and goddesses didn't want any more of their children being adopted by the Potters. Then again, he also came to understand that the gods and goddesses continued to have children with humans, because they had to have someway to remain relevant, because there were too few humans in the modern world that believed in them and they had to have someone to worship and give them offerings, otherwise they would fade away as Pan did, so that was actually the main reason for having demigods and not that hogwash of giving the gods a way to work through humans on earth or some such.
It seemed like a pretty selfish reason to Harry, but he decided that at least the children were finally getting claimed and having regular visits from their godly parents once a year as promised, which was much better than it had been before he and Merope arrived here. Apollo and Athena had even chosen to come visit their children more frequently and had forged even stronger bonds with them, and dare he say it, even loved them as a parent should.
The Potters spent their remaining years on this world traveling back and forth from both camps and around the world. They warded safe havens in every city in every country so that when the children grew too old to stay at the camps, they had their choice of any location they wanted to be to live out their lives in peace, where the monsters of the world couldn't reach them — the mythical monsters that is, as the human race consisted of a different type of monster that couldn't be combated with a sword and shield.
Percy and Annabeth were the first ones to retire from the camp and move to one of the safe havens. It turned out even better than Percy had dreamed when he discovered the city that the Romans had created for themselves.
Harry and Merope didn't have any more children sorted into their cabin, because the gods and goddesses never left their children unclaimed again. So they had chosen to remain in this world for about 200 years.
After all of their adopted children had grown up and moved on, having children of their own, then grandchildren and great grandchildren, Harry and Merope felt like it was time for them to move on; however, they waited until the great grandchildren were fully grown adults with great grandchildren of their own.
By this time, Potter Cabin had been renovated into a recreational facility that would be available to all of the demigods, Greek and Romans alike, so everyone now had access to the same training, library, and magic of the Room of Requirement. It became the place where everyone wanted to hang out together, instead of playing board games in the Big House.
The Potters did, indeed, leave a way for the demigods to contact them, should they ever be needed in the future, by leaving a mirror on the wall inside one of the various rooms of the Room of Requirement that was connected to the twin mirror that they could carry with them.
After saying their goodbyes to the campers and making sure that all of the leaders knew how to contact them and would pass on the information to their successors, Harry and Merope were on their way to start a new adventure.
"Where do you think we'll end up this time?" Merope asked Harry, as they initiated stealth mode and walked out of Camp Half-Blood hand-in-hand.
Harry shrugged and said, "I don't know, I'm not feeling the same pull that we usually do, so I guess there's no place in particular that we need to go.
"Neither do I," replied Merope.
"How do you feel about medieval England?" Harry asked.
"Well, it's a lot further in the past than we've ever gone," Merope replied thoughtfully.
"True," Harry said with a nod, "but that just means that we could help shape the Wizarding World into a more likeable place."
"But would we be traveling to the time before the Statute of Secrecy?" Merope queried, as she thought about what she knew about the medieval times.
"Do you suppose that the robes we have packed will blend in well with that time period?" Harry wondered.
"I'm not sure. I suggest that we remain in stealth mode until we can take a look at the clothing when we arrive, then transfigure something if we don't have anything that will work." Merope replied.
Harry smiled and said, "Intelligent suggestion as always."
Merope just looked at him with a slight smirk, then said, "Well, no time like the present to find out, let's go on another adventure."
"You bet," Harry replied with a cocky grin.
And with a silent pop, they were gone from this world and onto the next.
A/N: First off, my apologies that this epilogue is so short, there was just not really a lot more that I remembered wanting to add to this particular crossover.
Also, I'm not sure when I'll begin typing and posting the next installment to Harry and Merope, but I'm toying with waiting until I've got the story completed before posting it, so that you all are not stuck on waiting for my slow updates. When I do start posting the next story, I'll be sure to add another note to the bottom of this story naming the sequel, for those of you that are following.
