Chapter 22

Arc 1

Fort Valor

It was a few hours later. The night sky was pitch black lit up by the moon and the stars as it peeked over Fort Valor. A military fort right outside of Little Falls, New York. It just so happened to be one of the most guarded military forts at the moment thanks to the shipment that was coming in tonight. The shipment was holding a weapon, a weapon with the possibility of hurting hundreds and hundreds of lives if put in the hands of the wrong person. There were guards standing all throughout the fort standing armed looking for any danger that would be present.

From afar floating in the air was none other than Adam Pierce looking at the guards with a frown on his face. He raised a hand pressing on his ear piece.

"Gemini, are you in position?"

"I have told you many times, I hate that name. I only allow 1 man to call me that name and you're damn sure not him." Azalia said as she stood at the ground level looking at the guards with a pair of binoculars that had X-Ray capabilities.

"I don't give a damn what you like. I'll call you whatever I damn well want, alright?"

"You better remember I am the one who gave you those abilities, I can just as quickly take them."

"I'd love to see you try."

"Why you-"

"Enough! Both of you! I don't have time to listen to you two bicker about shit that doesn't matter. Now get in, get what we need and get out! Centurion, run point and leave no survivors. And Gemini, you go in and retrieve the weapon. And don't screw this up!" Miles shouted in both of their ears making them both wince at the tone that was in his voice.

"Well, you heard him. Let's do it." Adam said as his eyes began to glow a bright red. He flew towards the base. As he approached the base, he heard several soldiers begin to shout and point their guns up at him.

On the ground Gemini pressed on her belt making her go invisible before she began running on the path leading to the doors of the fort. Because of her invisibility factor she was able to run and jump on top of the shoulders of one of guards standing outside at their post. She wrapped her legs around his throat and was able to flip him onto his back and grabbed his pistol from his side to shoot his partner in the chest a few times causing him to fall down to the ground as blood began to seep out of his wounds. She grabbed a knife from her utility belt and slit the throat of the man she was still on top of.

In the air, Centurion was looking down at the men who were shooting him with a smirk as the bullets deflected off of his body. He closed his eyes before opening them as laser beams began to come from his eyes. He aimed them directly at the men who were shooting at him, killing them instantly. He closed his eyes once more causing the beams to stop before opening them once more to his original bright red eyes.

"That was way too easy." Centurion arrogantly said looking down at the damage he and Gemini caused. He descended down to the ground standing next to Gemini who looked on with a frown as she turned her invisibility off. Gemini looked down at her forearm causing a holographic map to appear showing the inside of the fort.

"The weapon's just ahead." Gemini said looking up from her map at her partner.

Centurion turned his head seeing several Humvees and AH-64 Apache Longbow making their way towards the two.

"Need help?"

"Go retrieve the weapon, I'm gonna have some fun." He said turning around as he started to float in the air with his fists clenched as Gemini looked up at him.

"Okay, you have fun with that you sick bastard." She said as she turned around on her heels and ran inside the fort looking for the weapon they were sent out to find.

Washington D.C. - White House

Meanwhile in Washington D.C., Miles currently stood in the bathroom looking at his reflection in the mirror. He had a scowl on his face as he looked at himself. The bathroom was empty meaning he had all to himself. He closed his eyes and exhaled a calm breath before he regained his composure and walked to the door. He pulled it open and as he walked out, he put a smile on his face. An Image was important to a man like Miles. A good image could get the people on his side. A good image could get him a good chance to get into politics whenever he feels that he's seized the business aspect of power and the streets aspect of power.

"Right this way, Mr. Maverick." said a Secret Service member as they guided Miles to the Oval Office. Miles looked at the hallways inside the white house with a smirk on his face. This was the ultimate goal, the ultimate position of power in his mind. Once he conquered the business world and the crime world, then he would move onto the political world and conquer it in only a way a Maverick can. And then, he would become the most powerful man in the world.

"Alright here we are sir." The Secret Service member opened the door and allowed Miles to walk into the office. Miles looked around at the office. It was historic to say the least. Miles' office at his headquarters was definitely bigger than the oval office but it just didn't have that historic feel to it as much as the Oval Office did.

"Ah, Mr. Maverick, welcome." said President David Alleyne. David was a middle-aged caucasian male with a head full of salt and pepper hair with blue eyes and a beard that matched his hair color. He wore a black suit with a blue tie and a US Flag pin on the right side of his suit jacket.

"The pleasure is all mine, Mr. President."

"Likewise, you know I knew your father. We went to the same college, in fact I remember his bright idea to create Maverick Industries. He was a brilliant man, a great man and if he were alive today, he would be very, very proud of you." David said as Miles offered a fake smile. Miles hated his father, Michael. Everyone who truly knew him knew that. But outside of his sister and his closest confidants, no one else knew the hate that Miles had for Michael.

"I miss him. Everyday, I strive to make him proud." Miles lied.

"Well, you're doing a great job. You drink?" David said standing up as he went to his table that had a scotch tray on it.

"Yes, Mr. President."

"Rocks?"

"No Rocks." Soon David walked around to Miles with two glasses of scotch, one with ice and one with no ice.

"Thank you, sir."

"Now let's talk business, I'd like to make you a rich man. Well, in your case, an even richer man."

"Music to my ears." Miles said, raising his glass with a smile before taking a sip.

Centurion floated in the air looking down with a smile at the destruction he caused. Fire. Fire was the only thing he could truly see and he loved it. There were bodies lying on the ground, some separated. Limbs separated from the body and small pieces of the vehicles he destroyed on the ground.

"A little help here." Gemini said as she walked out carrying the so-called weapon. Centurion lowered down to the ground with his feet landing on the ground. He looked at Gemini with a frown on his face as he looked at the weapon they were sent to retrieve. It wasn't a weapon at all. It was a man. An ordinary man. He looked to be a man of asian heritage with short black hair with a toned, defined body.

"What the hell is this?"

"The weapon we were sent to get is a man?"

"If we were sent to get him then there is a reason. A reason, that we'll come to find out soon." Centurion grabbed the guy holding him upright before grabbing a hold of Gemini and taking off into the sky to fly away.

Sunstone City

The pair of Cedric Harvey and Kalani Rose walked into one of the hottest entertainment spots in Sunstone City, Pinhead Pride both wearing smiles on their face. Pinhead Pride was a place they loved coming to when they were kids. It was one of the things he loved playing for many reasons. One of which, it was something he could beat Kala in and that was even without his powers. And since he had been back, he hadn't been there. He was too busy trying to save the world. Running around being the hero that everyone needed him to be. Being Charge as he simply put it.

"It smells like Pizza, Sweat and a chance to kick your ass." Kala said with a smile as she looked up at her best friend who simply rolled his eyes.

"Kala, I have kicked your ass in bowling more times than I can remember. This time it will be no different."

"Yeah, okay we'll see."

"We will and when I beat you, you have to buy me an ICEE."

"Okay and if I beat you then we have to go Vampire Moon."

"Really, that's what you wanna see. Another corny vampire and werewolf romance."

"Yeah."

"Okay fine. If you win, we'll go see that crap I guess."

"Yay! You would totally be a werewolf."

"Wait why would I be a werewolf?"

"Because the good guys are always werewolves and they're cute. But the vampires are hot and are a bit of a bad boy like my boyfriend. I'm gonna go grab us a lane." She said walking away quickly to go start their night off with a bit of bowling leaving Cedric standing there with a look of confusion on his face.

"There will never be another Kalani Rose." Cedric sighed shaking his head before he made his way over to her in their lane.

Downtown Sunstone City

The biker man rode his Harley Davidson into the city with a frown on his face. He stopped along the side of the road looking around the city. It was somewhat calm for a weekend night. He stepped off his motorcycle and took off his shades throwing them down on the ground.

"Charge, I think it's time you come out and play." The man said as he walked into the center of a 4-way intersection. Vehicles started to honk at him as he stood there blocking the way but he paid them no attention. He looked down at the ground and slowly rose his head and opened his palms. His eyes were full of purple flames as the sky began to cloud up and thunder a bit. Lightning bolts began to come from the clouds and strike nearby at cars and trucks causing them to ignite.

It was very clear that his man had a plan. A plan to draw out Charge and was gonna cause as much damage as possible to do so.

A/N: Okay, rewrite is done. It's up. Some things changed, some things didn't. I did make a few references to Crimson in this story because he is the same universe like it or not. And I will try to get Crimson up and running soon. And I know this chapter was supposed to be longer but I was so excited, I had to quickly get it out.
