Chapter 23

Arc 1

Sunstone City

Cedric stood at the lane he and Kala shared in Pinhead Pride. Currently Kala was up by a strike and this was the last turn of their game. He was going a bit easier on her than usual and a lot of that had to do with the fact that he wanted her to have fun considering that they haven't really hung out amongst themselves in a while. Cedric smirked as he had the bowling ball in his hands and kept his eyes on the bowling pins that were in front of him. He pulled his arm back before rolling the ball down the lane. Cedric's focus was taken away from the bowling pin and was placed on the noise he heard elsewhere.

He looked forward with a frown as he heard all the commotion going on in his city. The sound of Kala's voice was enough to make him focus back on the bowling lane seeing that he only knocked down one pin.

Kala giggled as she had a win in the bag due to the fact that Cedric only hit a pin.

"What happened to you never letting me beat you in bowling?" Kala teased as Cedric looked at her shaking his head. The only reason she truly won was because the commotion going on the city caused him to lose his focus. Whatever it was, he had to check it out. The only problem is he promised Kala, a night full of fun activities.

"Whatever, hey look I'm gonna go use the bathroom. I'll be back in 5." Cedric said as she nodded along, taking a seat at the lane while he quickly rushed away. He looked at the hallway where the bathroom was located and saw an door with an exit sign above it making him smirk. He turned to look back at Kala, letting out an deep breath before he quickly made his way down the hallway. He walked out the door, looking around making sure no one was there before he walked forward stepping into an alleyway and blasting off into the night sky as his suit materialized on his body.

The-Black-and-Blue hero flew into the fray seeing the man stand in the center of the 4-way while cars around him were ignited. Luckily there were no civilians in the area but seeing the chaos he was causing in Sunstone City was enough for Charge to want to confront this man and find out why he was in his city causing destruction.

Charge dropped down to the ground creating a small crater as he landed. He looked up from the ground looking at the man. A small frown formed on his face seeing the size of this man standing in front of him.

"Hey, I don't know who you are and I don't care but you need to leave my city alone." Charge said as he slowly took a few steps towards the man.

"Trust me you will know me all too well once I'm done with you." The man said as a sadistic smile curled on his lips. He raised his hand towards Charge and released a bolt of purple lightning. Charge quickly put his hands up forming a force field of blue energy emitting from his palms. The lightning broke through the force field striking Charge directly in the chest making him grunt in pain as he flew off his feet, crashing back-first into a nearby car leaving a huge dent in the side of the vehicle as the alarms went off.

Charge groaned as he rose up to his feet placing a hand on his chest. Not many people could say that they actually hurt Charge but this man, whoever he was could say that. "The Champion of Sunstone City" quickly bolted over to the mysterious figure and started to unload lefts and rights to the man's face. The man grabbed Charge's fist as he went for a right, making the formerly known "The Black-and-Blue Blur" look at him with a look of disbelief.

"My turn." The man said as he clocked Charge with a headbutt making Charge stumble back a bit. Charge shook his head regaining his senses only to be caught once again as the man dashed towards Charge hitting him with a series of left and right hooks. The figured quickly changed his attack sequence, hitting several shots to the body and finishing up with an uppercut sending Charge up in the air before he crashed back-first into the ground creating a small crater as he crashed. Charge wiped his nose using hsi hand seeing blood seeping from his nose.

"So you're the so-called "Champion of Sunstone City" you don't look like much of a Champion, much-less a hero." The man said as he walked towards the crater and jumped down into it standing over Charge making a purple rod of lightning in his hand. He raised the rod over his head as if he were gonna attack Charge with it but blue beams came directly from his eyes, knocking the man momentarily off his balance. Charge quickly bolted up into the air escaping while he had the chance to.

The man who attacked Sunstone City looked up in the sky with a smirk on his face.

"In due time, Charge, you will meet Darkness and you will face the test. And then we will truly see if you are the one to beat my brother once and for all." He said before jumping out of the crater and walking towards his motorcycle to ride off and wait for his next encounter with the hero.

Charge landed outside of Pinhead Pride shortly after his battle with the mystery man. He looked around to see if anybody was nearby and luckily no one was around. His suit de-materialized, returning him to his civilian clothes. He walked around to the front entrance of the bowling alley seeing Kala standing there. She turned her head and saw him, rolling her eyes as she walked towards him and playfully smacked him in his chest.

"There you are, I've been waiting forever."

"Relax, it wasn't that long."

"We missed the 9:30 showing of Vampire Moon but if we hurry up we can make the 10:20 showing."

"Kala, relax. The night is still young." Kala rolled her eyes as Cedric attempted to sing Nicki Minaj a bit with that last line.

"If you try to sing that one more damn time, I will kick your ass myself." Kala joked as Cedric chuckled as the two began walking down the sidewalk to continue to enjoy their Funday Friday while neither of them knew that their lives were about to be changed forever by the events over the next few weeks.

The time was about 12:35 AM and Cedric and Kala just finished watching Vampire Moon. They had about an hour to get to Pop's before it closed for the night. Pop's always closed late on Fridays and Saturdays, closing at 2 AM. It would be just like old times, Kala and Cedric spending plenty of late nights at Pop's, just talking and being the best of friends. Even though Cedric wished he could change their relationship, he enjoyed what he had with her and wouldn't change their dynamic for anything.

"You know after watching this movie I would totally say you would be a werewolf." Kala said as they walked to Cedric's car while she carried a bag of popcorn in her hand as she ate it while walking.

"You said that earlier." Cedric reminded her with a confused frown on his face.

"I know I did but now I have added reasons. The werewolves are kinda like the defenders of the people, that's what you are in a way. You help people. You always make it your mission to help everyone and save them if they need saving. You try to save everyone and be a hero just like the werewolves just like Charge." Cedric took a nervous inhale. Kala was starting to compare him to Charge and Kala wasn't a stupid girl at all, if she kept thinking about it soon she would start to connect the dots.

"Of course, the only difference is that you rush in head-first and always manage to hurt yourself but Charge actually seems to think his situation's through not to mention, he's a bit taller and more built than you not mention his eyes…."

"Okay, I don't want to hear about this anymore." Cedric lied, the truth is: he loved hearing her talk about him in that manner even if it was technically not about him but more so about Charge.

"Okay, I wonder does he have a girlfriend?"

"Kala!" He shouted, making her start to giggle as Cedric put his hand on the door handle and pulled the door open allowing Kala to enter his car.

"Okay, I won't talk about him anymore." Cedric rolled his eyes, shaking his head as he closed the door behind her and walked around to the driver side of the car. He sighed before he stepped into the car as a frown began to set on his face. That man actually was strong enough to make him bleed, not many people that he faced could say that. Tonight, he was going to enjoy the night with Kala but in the morning, he was going to regroup with Dr. Hart and they were going to find this man, one way or another.

A/N: Alright so short chapter here but I was on a mission to update this before I take a small leave of absence. I know it's not that good but the next chapter will be better, I can promise you that. And the next chapter will have much more plot in it and more action and I'm still taking OCs for this if you want. We're created a whole new Earth here and we have to have characters to fill it out. I'll be back folks and when I come back more action will follow.
