"Madam Mayor! So great to see you." Grace smiled happily, standing beside Regina's desk with a latte already in hand. Regina paused at the door, taking a slow deep breath. The last time she was in here was with...him, and she felt terrified but to the untrained eye she just looked like her normal regal self, standing in the entry way and making a grand entrance.
That morning Emma had fought her hand and foot...telling her she didn't think she was ready yet and she should just wait one more week! Of course the stubborn brunette would have none of it. She needed to do this. Just push him out of her mind and move on. Easier said than done. "Good morning Grace...thank you very much." Regina smiled and took her latte, sitting down in her big office chair. "Now I assume I've missed much...fill me in please."
"Right well construction for that park you signed off on is underway! And they're making extreme progress on it. Some samaritans have made some small complaints but the council has been working tirelessly to rectify them, so you can just rest." Did they know what happened? Regina's blood went cold at the very idea of it. She froze, staring straight ahead. "Dear...why on earth would I need to rest?" The bite in her tone did not go unnoticed by the small, cowering red head. "Oh I'm sorry madam mayor! We just heard you were out dealing with family matters...and they just wanted to uh help."
Regina visibly calmed down, her shoulders slouching a little as she relaxed against her chair. She brought her latte up to her lips taking a small sip and moaning softly at the way the warm liquid coated her throat. "Very well. Thank you Grace. You may be excused." With that she hurried out of the office and back to her desk, just in time for the phone to begin ringing.
"Um...madam mayor?"
"Yes?" Regina mumbled, not even bothering to look away from her computer and taking notice to the many emails in her inbox. Most already answered by her secretary, but of course Regina being Regina she would have to go over those answers and make sure they were to her standards.
"Chief Swan is here. Should I say you're in a meeting?" She mumbled, covering the speaker part of the phone with her hand. Regina rolled her eyes and took her glasses off the bridge of her nose, shaking her head. "No. Send her in."
Not more than thirty seconds later, a worried looking blonde walked into the office latching the door behind herself. "Hey.." Emma was dressed in her very sexy uniform, her hair pulled back into a tight perfect pony tail that fell down the length of her spine.
"Hello Chief Swan. May I help you?" Regina have her a curt nod, putting her glasses back on and turning back toward her computer. Trying to act as casual as possible...giving no indication for how she was truly feeling. Emma just sighed and immediately moved closer, her hands flat on Regina's desk as she stared at her. "We should discuss this morning Regina."
"Surely you don't think here is the place?" Regina's voice was a sharp whisper as she stared up into big green eyes, the vein in her forehead popping out just slightly. "If not here where? I'm drowning here Regina. Please."
"What do you mean if not here, where? Isn't it obvious that this is highly inappropriate. You are my subordinate and we will not talk about this here. No way. Here, I am the mayor of this town and what happened to me...what is currently going on with me. It all stays home and the job comes first." Well that's fucked. Emma crossed her hands over her chest and shook her head, giving Regina a look of defiance.
Sure, she's at work...but that doesn't completely make everything else around her disappear. "Oh oh really? So I guess you're not Henry's mom all the sudden when you're here?" Regina gave Emma a warning look.
"Emma."
"Or uh..that time Henry fell off the swing set at school..while you were over here being mayor and we both rushed over immediately dropping everything. What about then?"
"Emma stop it." Regina was standing now, her chest heaving slightly as more anger filled her body.
"Oh or what about when Henry had the flu and you rushed-"
"You're using horrible examples. Of course I am always a mom. Henry is my world."
Emma just stared at her, nodding slowly in agreement. Henry would always be everything. To the both of them. "Okay...then what about that day...two years ago. When a crazy gun man almost shot me and I texted you..I texted you goodbye. Next thing I know you're surrounding me with four other cop cars. That was?"
"That was mayoral business. I have to protect my police force." Her wall was going up and stubborn Regina was coming out. Emma just scoffed and nodded sarcastically. "Sure thing...madam mayor. " Emma growled, sitting down across from Regina with a pointed look.
"Grace in the future...I'm in a meeting!" Regina grumbled behind the closed office door, rubbing her temples softly.
"Roger that!"
Emma smirked and shrugged, "we're discussing this now, baby girl." Regina gasped and squeezed her legs together, looking anywhere but at Emma. Immediately turning into a mess of sub. "Now, tell me why this morning happened?" Emma sat back, crossing one leg over the other and staring at Regina expectantly. "Um...Em-"
"What?" Emma growled, her demanding tone coming out. "Miss. Swan I uh-" her eyes wandered nervously around the room. "Look at me when I'm talking to you." Emma whispered, her eyes looking directly into Regina's. "Yes."
"Yes what?"
"Yes...Miss. Swan." She clutched the edge of her seat and rocked discreetly. "So what happened?"
"I just uh..." she paused and took a deep breath, "I just...needed to lose control and let you...you just...you always-"
"Spit it out brat." Emma knew exactly what Regina needed, she just needed to hear her say it.
"You just make me feel safe and I can completely let go with you, so...calling you Miss. Swan this morning..."
"And then again when I walked into the office." Regina nodded, blushing.
"And I mean...you've called me Miss. Swan before. Since the divorce...what did that mean?"
"Oh well...it was just something I've been used to so it..just slipped out, but you didn't even seem to notice so-"
"Oh I noticed. But this morning..when you said it, you always said something else. What was it?" She knew but again...wanted to hear Regina say it.
"Miss. Swan please-"
"Now, baby girl."
"I said I wanted you to own me." A blush flooded Regina's whole body and she sighed, her eyes slowly closing.
"Well...I have wanted nothing more than that...for a long time." Regina gasped and looked up at Emma in wonder about to say something when Emma abruptly stood up. "That's all." Emma hummed and began walking out of the office, "I'll see you after work Regina." And with that she was gone.
What the actual fuck.
The day seemed to go by relatively fast, and by three o'clock..she was just ready to see her son. It had only been two days since she let herself seem him. She needed to have a little time just to prepare for the questions he would surely have. Why were you screaming at night mommy? Why couldn't I see you? Did you want to see me? The sheer thought of the hurt in his eyes was enough to keep her from coming out, but sooner or later she had to face him...and when she did all she received was love and excitement. Why would she think any different!
Two days ago also marked when she moved back into her house...but the adjustment didn't go as easily as she had hoped.
Regina walked up to the front door, feeling bile rising up in her throat. She had Emma directly by her side and Henry in Emma's arms. "Home!" Henry squealed happily and moved out of Emma's arms faster than she could grab him. He barged inside and immediately rushed up the stairs into his bedroom. As soon as the air hit Regina's face, the smell of her home filled her nostrils like burning fire and she felt the vomit knocking at her lips. She turned around and sighed, taking a deep breath. When she opened her eyes Graham smiled gently at her, standing at the end of the driveway and leaning against his squad car. Emma had called him to make sure she had backup just in case.
"Regina If you're not ready...we don't need to do this." Emma mumbled, clasping the brunettes hand in her own. "No no...I uh...I can do this." After a few more moments of contemplating Regina stepped over the threshold into her home and paused, holding her breath. "Breathe baby...ground yourself." Emma mumbled stepping behind her and whispering kind affirmations in her ear. "Feel your feet flat on the floor...the way your hair feels against your neck. Focus on the air leaving your lungs and pull it back in. You've got this." Emma whispered, standing so close to her lover now. Regina couldn't help but lean back against her for some extra support and comfort, doing exactly as instructed. Her nostrils flared out dramatically as she sucked in air greedily finally opening her eyes.
She set her purse down and slowly walked into the living room, clinging on to the wall as the images flew before her eyes all over again. "Come here!" Screams echoed in her mind, "I said come here!" She groaned and rubbed her shoulder remembering how aggressively he grabbed her off of the floor and over his shoulder, forcing her over the couch. "Hey.." Emma mumbled, cupping Regina's face slowly and with purpose. "Come back to me." Regina's eyes met beautiful green ones and she nodded softly, "I'm here it's just..."
"A lot. I know. Take your time."
Regina entered the living room and sighed, staying far away from the couch he hurt her against. "I'd like that removed..." Regina pointed, looking around the room some more.
"Absolutely. Today. I'll get it out of here asap." Regina just nodded, hugging herself and moving out of the living room and into the kitchen where it all began. She noticed they had kindly cleaned up her spilled pomegranate lemonade, but then tucked under the counter she recognized the cup.
"Emma-" Regina whimpered, turning her head away and pointing a shaky hand outward at it. "Fuck Reg..a-sorry. I got it." Emma immediately threw it out and took the trash bag completely out, throwing it away in the dumpster out back. "I'd like...to get curtains for these doors." Regina whispered once Emma came back into view. She turned around and looked at the glass kitchen doors, nodding sadly. That used to be Regina's favorite part. The sunlight shining through while she just cooked and hung out.
"Emma...I uh..."
She didn't even have to say more, Emma already walked up to her and smiled weakly. "May I hug you?"
Regina had to take a second to think about it. She hadn't been touched or allowed anyone to really even come near her since the incident. "Y-yes.." Emma gently pulled her into her arms, cradling her head against her chest. The second Emma's arms enveloped her and began rocking, a dam broke and Regina sobbed hard against Emma's chest, clinging on to her shirt. "S-stay..." Regina whimpered, shaking softly.
"Baby steps..yes. I will stay. You did it Regina. You're in...one step at a time."
"Thank you Grace, have a lovely day." Regina smiled as she left the office putting her sunglasses over her face and walked off toward Henry's school. She enjoyed the walk. The breeze felt incredible against her face and she knew Henry would enjoy it as well! It was rare that they walked home from school.
"Hey baby boy!" Regina giggled happily, sliding her glasses on top of her head as Henry ran her way.
"Mommy mommy look!" He squealed, holding up a drawing he had done at school. "It's us! Our family. Me. Mama..and you." He hummed, pointing everyone out in his sloppily done photo but oh so cute. "Wow my love...enchanting as always. Where's my love huh?" She joked, wrapping her arms around him in a tight embrace and smiling. "Do you like my drawing!" Adorable. "Oh I love it. Mama will too." She thought back to what he said and let out a small sigh, family. I mean I guess in many ways they would always be tied to one another..but in this photo, Henry stood between them with two thumbs up and Regina and Emma were..what looked to be like holding hands behind him. Not exactly an accurate depiction but one she could see he desired.
"Yeah, mama loves when I make these drawings." Regina's ears peaked up at that.
"Does she now?"
"Yes! She says it makes her happy." Henry hummed, struggling to push the artwork into his backpack. Regina smirked and bent down, helping him with the zipper before closing it back up and slinging his bag over her shoulder. Her little prince. She clasped their hands together as they walked down the street towards home. "Just because it makes mama happy...doesn't mean you need to draw it. You can draw whatever you like."
"I know.." he grumbled, his big brown eyes boring up into his moms matching ones. "But I love it too!" Regina laughed at that, nodding her head. "Well in that case...draw all you'd like my love." Henry began skipping gently, pushing Regina to just a slight speed walk pace. She loved how happy and free he was. She hoped it would never change...even though of course that was impossible. He's bound to grow up at some point.
"I love you mommy." Regina's heart swelled and she leaned down as they walked, kissing his messy hair. "I love you too baby." The rest of the walk was relatively silent as they approached home. When they entered the driveway Regina immediately noticed an unfamiliar car in the driveway, a dark grey Honda CRV. Her warning signals immediately fired up in her head and she clutched Henry's hand tighter, pulling him towards her a little while she searched through her purse for her phone in a panic. "Mommy...you kay?" Her smiley little boy mumbled, kicking rocks under his shoes mindlessly. "Uh..of course baby. Just gotta make a quick call before we go inside." Regina sighed and finally found her phone, dialing Emma's number which was on speed dial.
Almost instantly Emma answered, "hey are you okay!" Regina's heart squeezed at the immediate sense of panic in Emma's voice. "Um..at the moment. There's a car I don't recognize in the driveway. Are you home?" Home. Emma felt felt her heart swell at the casual use of the word. "Oh yeah..I'm inside. Why don't you come on in and we can chat." Regina's eyebrow reached her hairline and she bit her bottom lip, "or you could just tell me what's going on."
"Reg. Please just come in...I'll see you in a moment."
Regina hung up the phone and took a slow shallow breath. What the heck is going on. "Mommyyy!" Henry whined, pouting his cute bottom lip out. The brunette giggled and shook away her thoughts, approaching the door with their son. She swiftly unlocked it and Henry tugged her arm gently, "c'mon mommy!" His little excited feet bounced up and down as he pulled, completely oblivious to the inner turmoil his mother was facing.
"Uh...you go ahead I need just one moment." She whispered with a fake playful smirk, before panic began set in and she took a moment to practice what Emma had told her a few days prior. "I wait for you mommy..." he mumbled. Breathe in and out...feel it leave your lungs and pull it back in. "You've got this." She whispered finally crossing the threshold.
The second she crossed the threshold Emma was standing in front of her with a warm, encouraging smile. "Hello you two. Welcome home." Emma mumbled, her eyes never leaving Regina's. "Hi mama! Look at my drawing." He pushed it up under Emma's nose and wiggled it around, begging for her attention. "Alright alright." Emma giggled, her eyes peeling away from Regina's. "Wow is this us?"
"Yup!" His dimples were large and in charge with how big he was smiling.
"It is beautiful. Go hang it up on the fridge! And then can you go upstairs and play a bit so mommies can talk?" Henry nodded agreeing to these terms and immediately ran off, drawing swaying in hand.
"Emma." Regina crossed her arms over her chest looking regal as ever, "what are you not telling me?"
"Well I uh...phoned a friend and just..come on-"
Regina entered the living room, seeing a man in a fitted suit standing in the middle of the floor. "Hmm..and you are?" Her eyebrow must have been raised to the ceiling from how nervous he looked under her pointed glare. "Oh yes, I-I'm sorry. My name is Archie. I am a friend of your- uh Emma's and I am a lawyer hired to deal with your case." He pushed his glasses up his nose and clutched his briefcase in his clammy hand, his other hand reaching out to shake Regina's.
Emma stood there nervously, looking back and forth between the two patiently. Regina stared down at his offered hand and after a beat accepted it, wiping her hand off on her outfit afterward. "My lawyer? Hired by whom exactly?" Shit.
"Yes, Emma hired me."
"Hmm...and what case are you referring to?" Oh come on Regina.
"Well uh...the one involving Mr. Robin Locksey Ma'am." Regina sucked her cheeks in, sending a glare towards Emma. They had discussed her need to be involved in his trial but she had wished Emma would've at least mentioned this to her rather than bombard her with this new information.
Regina ignored that last statement and looked around the room before sitting on her small sofa. "I would offer you a seat but uh...we recently did some moving around and I'm down a couch so-" the awkward silence hung in the air for a moment longer than Emma was comfortable with.
"Well not to worry! I'll grab a chair from the kitchen." Emma smiled a little too widely, rushing off into the kitchen and pulling a dinning room chair into the middle of the living room...noting the fact Regina set her hand on the extra seat on the sofa, clearly not wanting this man to come sit by her. "Should we get started?" He mumbled to himself, opening his brief case and accepting the seat offered by Emma. Emma gave Regina a quick apologetic look and moved over beside her, silently begging to sit down. Regina just rolled her eyes and moved her hand placing them calmly in her lap. On the inside she was screaming, begging for this to just be over. I'm not ready.
"So Ms. Mills...I'm going to need you to go over, in your own words, what happened on the day of the attack." Regina felt her blood run cold and could suddenly hear her heart beat in her ears. She hadn't even told Emma what had happened that day. Refusing to discuss what had happened. "I-uh..." Regina sat there frozen, clutching the edge of her skirt so tight that her fingers were turning white. "Reg..?" Emma whispered, sensing her distress. "I just...I need a moment." Regina bolted up, knocking over his cup of water sitting on the edge of the coffee table, "s-sorry..." and off she went, rushing out the front door.
Emma gasped, and immediately jumped up. "Shit sorry...hold on." She quickly grabbed a rag and placed it over the spilled water before making eye contact with her friend, Archie. "I know she needs to be there...and this is important. I'll try to talk to her." Archie gave her a sympathetic nod and Emma stood up, rushing out the front door. I should have just told her. I'm such an idiot. Emma rounded the corner of the porch and her heart sank at what she saw. Regina was silently sobbing, holding on tightly to one of the pillars going through the porch. Her mascara dripped down her beautiful cheeks. Regina felt a presence beside her and immediately gasped, looking up in a panic. Upon realizing it was Emma she immediately relaxed, hugging the pillar tighter as she sobbed mumbling to herself.
"Regina...baby girl come here." Regina immediately softened at that one phrase, doing as she was told. Slowly she walked over to Emma on wobbly feet and allowed herself to be pulled over to the porch swing. Emma sat down and pulled Regina into her lap, adjusting to the soft back and forth of the swing. "I wanted to apologize.." Emma started, kissing Regina's forehead ever so gently. "I should have told you about this. The fact he was coming..and everything else, but I do need to tell you something now."
Regina sniffled and wiped at her tear stained cheeks, "what?"
"They uh set the trial date..."
Regina immediately sat up straight, Emma's hands laying on her lower back for support. "Uh-when?"
"One month from tomorrow..."
"Oh.." a sob wrecked Regina's body, "that was fast."
"Oh baby..." Emma pulled Regina closer to her chest and whispered soothing things against her head.
"Why are you taking such good care of me? What do you care?"
That immediately made Emma mad and she felt her blood beginning to boil. How could she possibly ask a question like that! Emma had to remind herself...she feels vulnerable and what does Regina do when she feels that way? Puts her walls up ten feet tall. "Regina Mills-Swan...get up." Regina gasped at the name and looked into Emma's deep green eyes, seeing them blown wide with anger and..something else? Power maybe?
"E-Emma...that isn't my last name anymore."
Emma completely ignored her statement while she stood up in front of Emma, eyes cast down to the floor. She felt her most safe when she let herself be completely without control to Emma. Only with Emma though. "You will do well to never say something like that again do you understand me?" Her voice sounded powerful, demanding...much like she had heard many times before and somehow it brought her some strange comfort. "Yes Miss- Emma." She quickly corrected, a blush painting her beautiful tan cheeks.
She could almost feel Emma's smirk even with her eyes cast down, and then she felt Emma stand up...the smell of her glorious perfume filled her nostrils like a song. Suddenly her hands were in Emma's and she let out a slow breath she didn't even realize she had been holding. "Look at me." Regina's red eyes slowly met Emma's loving one's and she ran her thumb back and forth over the brunette's hand, "I know how hard this is about to be for you. I understand, but I will be there the whole time. Lean on me for support."
"It's just...I never told y-you-"
"I know. I know, and that scares you huh?"
Regina sniffled and nodded her head, looking back down at the floor. "I am scared too if I'm being honest." Regina gasped and her eyes shot back up, curiously looking into Emma's. "Yeah, I mean...just the thought of what he did to you makes my blood curdle and now I'm going to know what happened. It's scary." Regina nodded slowly, taking a deep breath.
"We've left him long enough..let's head back in yes?" Emma walked towards the door and noticed Regina hadn't moved from her spot, but she always seemed to know what Regina needed. Together or not...she would always take care of her needs and right now Regina needed to surrender and just be free. "Baby girl, come now." Almost instantly Regina walked up to Emma and accepted Emma's hand when it was offered, allowing herself to be guided back inside the house.
"Ms. Mills...whenever you're ready. Start from the top." He held a pen out, ready to jot down any necessary notes as Regina spoke. A professional look painted on his face.
"Right..." Regina breathed in and out, grounding herself. "Uh..well I got home..and I walked into the kitchen." She paused, looking over at Emma who was just giving her a reassuring smile. Over the past few weeks...some forgotten memories had been flooding back in the form of nightmares, or random flashbacks throughout the day. "I noticed...the sliding door was ajar and that wasn't like that and that's when I felt his hand slam roughly over my mouth from behind." Regina almost whimpered, but held her composer.
Emma already felt herself growing hot with anger, and upset. This was going to hard to hear. Be strong. Be strong.
"Hmm.." Archie nodded, jotting down notes. "And in case you didn't know...directly after the attack the police stayed after you went to the hospital trying to find evidence he was here and they did. Fingerprints on the sliding door in the kitchen, a perfect match for his own." Regina felt chills run down her spine and nodded, "so your testimony is going to be that final nail in his coffin."
Regina cleared her throat before carrying on, "so then...he pulled me back into the living room and I remember him...throwing me on to the floor." She clawed at the inside of her palms as a form of getting out anxiety and grunted softly when she felt Emma pull her hand away discreetly, rubbing her clawed at palm. "Um..and he began telling me what he was going to do.."
"And what did he say?" Archie frowned, looking concerned.
"Well..." a tear slipped down Regina's cheek against her will and she immediately wiped it away, "sorry." Don't be weak.
"Regina, do not apologize." Emma demanded kindly, "you are absolutely within your right to feel all your feelings." Archie nodded in agreement, crossing one leg over the other.
"He told me..he was going to rape me, and then.." she cleared her throat and took a deep breath, "he told me he was going to make it so...I'd never want Emma again. Ruin me for her." Emma gasped and her eyes filled with tears, and though she tried to push them away she couldn't. Slowly they pooled and fell down her ivory cheeks. "Shit Reg." Emma covered her face and wiped her tears away.
"Go on Regina."
"Um...and I begged him, I begged him to stop! That I'd say I hadn't seen him, that I wouldn't say anything.." a weak whimper left Regina's lips. "But then he spit in my face and told me to shut up. That my crying wouldn't help me."
Emma clenched her fists together, feeling bile raise up in her throat. "And of course...it didn't. He ripped me up and pushed me hard against a couch that I've since removed, cuffing my hands to it and then.."
"Then what Ms. Mills?" The blush on Regina's cheeks didn't go unnoticed.
"He began spanking me...fast and hard..until I couldn't even feel his hits anymore..until it was hard to stand." Regina felt mortified telling this story and also all of her panic began to fill her lungs again. All she wanted to do was scream and cry...and forget the entire thing even happened, but she couldn't ever.
Archie began moving fidgeting uncomfortably in his chair, and cleared his throat. "Regina I am so sorry...are you okay to continue?" Her brown eyes looked over into green sad ones, receiving an encouraging nod. "Yeah..."
"Okay, what happened next?"
"He warned me that uh..he was about to rape me, and then he did..he pushed into me and even.." she gulped, "finished inside of me. When he was done there was blood running down my thighs. Then he just left me there...bleeding and bound to that chair. I had to break my own thumb to get out and that's when I called...Graham for help."
"Reg I was wondering...why didn't you call me?"
"Because..you were with Henry and I didn't want you to panic, which you obviously would and in that panic you'd forget about Henry and bring him and I-"
"You were thinking of our son." Regina gave a weak nod and turned back to Archie, "is that all?"
"I think that's a good place to stop for today. You did amazingly Regina and I am sorry I had to re open those wounds, but you should be proud of yourself. You spoke about this all the way through..and you're okay?" He mumbled, packing away his things in his brief case. "Actually...other than how anxious I feel right now, I am ok. Minus my breakdown before hand." She giggled, trying to lighten the mood.
"Yes, let's work more on this because remember...in one month you'll have to come face to face with that monster." That was enough to make her blood run cold all over again and her face paled as she just nodded her head. "I'll let myself out. Thank you for your time. I'll be in contact to discuss our next meeting." He walked out the door, leaving Regina and Emma alone in their feelings.
"Regina, I am so sorry. I don't even know how to describe how much I wish-"
"I know, I know Emma." Regina whispered, looking down anxiously.
"What do you need Reg? What can I do for you?" Emma mumbled, moving closer to Regina.
"Y-you know what I need Miss. Swan...you always know." Regina whispered, looking anywhere but at the blonde.
Miss.Swan her honored name.
Emma smirked and nodded, her dom persona slipping into place. She needed to be taken care of and give up control. "Come. Let's go upstairs."
"B-but...Henry." Regina whispered, still sitting down. "Nothing is going to happen baby girl. You're not ready for that." How does she know me so well. "Just..come with me now okay?" Regina slowly nodded and followed closely behind Emma, walking into her bedroom and Emma shut the door.
AN- get ready for next chapter. ;) I think some dom/ sub relations will be really hot to be honest, what do you think? Anywho comment and vote please. I appreciate you all!
