Meanwhile, Dwaine and Jethro were just staring at a Remington and each exchanged cigarettes. But when Jethro grabbed the cigarette himself, he quickly tossed it to the ground when Cesar arrived.
"Hey Carl!" Cesar told CJ, "there's four cars on the list, ese, and they're in the showroom across town! Let's go get them!"
"I've always admired your direct approach, hombre," CJ said as he walked with Cesar outside of the garage.
"OK, let's go get those wheels!" Cesar explained, right before LB and Ryder pulled up in a white Washington.
"Need a lift, homie?" LB asked CJ and Cesar.
"LB," CJ exclaimed with a smile. "Ryder wasn't wrong about you! You are like a clockwork ninja!"
He let out a relieved chuckle. LB just grinned back at him.
"Word is that you and Ceez looking to swipe four cars from the showroom Downtown!" LB informed.
"Read my mind, partner!" CJ replied.
"Then take the wheel then, my nigga," LB said, sliding to the passenger's seat. "Let's get these wheels!"
"Jeah," Ryder added from the backseat. "Hook it up West Coast style, motherfucker."
So CJ hopped inside the vehicle and took a drive through the city.
"I like this place, you know," Cesar said randomly.
"Where?" CJ asked.
"San Fierro, man," Cesar replied. "My home will always be the Varrios and El Corona, but this city, it has something gentle about it."
"Nigga, fuck that gentle shit," Ryder chimed in. "We gangsters! We want that hardcore shit!"
"Yeah," LB added. "We like things to be chill once in a while, but there ain't jack shit "gentle" about San Fierro."
"I'm serious, holmes," Cesar protested. "This place is amazing to drive through. The city, the streets, not to mention the atmosphere. I swear, it felt like a utopia driving through the Garver Bridge, eh."
"Yeah, I know what you mean, Ceez," CJ said. "Kendl seems to like it too, you know?"
"Oh yeah," Cesar replied. "She's really getting her head into this business thing."
"Jeah," Ryder replied. "Hopefully, she'll put her hard-earned cash in to pay for some decent clothes."
CJ ignored Ryder's remark. "That's good," he told Cesar. "She's always been the brains in the family. She should get out the ghetto and make something of herself."
"I think she's aiming to make something out of ALL of us, eh!" Cesar told him.
"Yeah, she's the moms of the family now," CJ said.
"Don't go far, CJ," Ryder told him. "Just think about what mothers are known for before you get her to usurp Mrs. Johnson for that position."
"Come on, Ryder," CJ groaned. "What it kill you to say something nice about my sister for once? I never throw any shades at your sister."
"That's because Lisa doesn't have anything niggas could use against her," LB chimed in. "That girl is hardcore."
"Kendl told me all about her," Cesar answered. "From what Kendl told me, she doesn't sound like a girl I would mess with." He then turned to CJ, who had reached the end of the road Downtown.
"Hey, who's this 'Truth' guy, holmes?" Cesar asked CJ. "I don't think he's wrapped too tight!"
"I'll say," Ryder added. "That motherfucker make ME look clean even when I was high on the wet."
"No kidding," LB chimed in. "He higher than the blimp that was flying above the stadium during the superbowl back in January."
"He just sees everything from a different perspective, that's all," CJ answered quietly. "At first I thought he was just another acid casualty fruit cake. But some of the things he say... I don't know, man, it ain't all bullshit."
"Well that motherfucker ain't no genius like me," Ryder replied. "Shit, he don't even know about this ghetto mentality shit the way we do."
"Damn straight!" LB added.
"You gonna become an alien hunter, holmes?" Cesar asked CJ.
"I'll take a rain check on that one," CJ replied.
"CJ hunting aliens?" Ryder asked. "That's about as believable as him jumping on the buildings of San Fierro like a blind ninja."
"Man, you a fool, Ryder!" CJ laughed, and everyone else joined in on the laughter.
It was like good old times for CJ. He was already having fun with his conversation with his friends, and they haven't even arrived at the showroom yet.
"This is it, CJ!" Cesar announced as CJ finally pulled up in front of Otto's Auto showroom. "Hey man, the cars are upstairs! They're on the second floor."
"Second floor?" Ryder asked. "How they get them up there?"
"Aw great!" CJ groaned. "Why is nothing ever easy?!"
"Chill, CJ," LB told them calmly as the two walked inside the building. "We just gonna each grab a car and roll up outta here!"
As the four friends finally made it upstairs, they confronted a dealer.
"Can I help you four, errr, gentlemen?" the dealer asked.
"Yeah, you can help by going to help some other motherfucker," CJ replied flippantly.
"Y- yeah," the dealer responded apprehensively. "That sounds like a good idea!"
"Alright, CJ, it's time to roll!" Cesar explained as he, Ryder, and LB split up to grab the other three cars. Ryder hopped inside a Washington. LB swiped the Buffalo. Cesar jumped inside the Elegy, which left CJ stealing the Sultan. "It's follow the leader, you better keep up!"
"Who said you the leader, motherfucker?" Ryder asked. "I'm the genius! I'm leading the way!"
"Yo Ryder, that was just a joke," LB told him. "He meant CJ should keep up, seeing how he isn't all that great of a driver and all."
"Time to roll!" Cesar announced.
He was the first to drive out of the window.
"Aw, you a maniac, ese!" CJ yelled.
"Keep up, motherfucker!" Ryder yelled, following Cesar along as he drove out of the window. Those were the first words Ryder told CJ when the latter returned back to his hometown after following his homies in an impromptu getaway via bicycles to avoid the Ballas. It was all coming back to him.
"Listen to the man, CJ!" LB shouted as he drove out the window and drove onto the road to follow Ryder and Cesar.
Without a word, CJ took a deep breath and drove out of the window as well. As he landed on the road, he saw his three friends up ahead.
"Hey, CJ, is this walkie talkie working?" Cesar asked through a walkie talkie.
"You hearing us, motherfucker?!" Ryder snapped through his walkie talkie as well.
"Yeah," CJ responded. "Reading y'all loud and clear!"
"That's great, homie," LB answered. "Hopefully, you got the speed to stick with us!"
"Listen to the man, CJ!" Cesar responded. "C'mon, CJ, see if you can keep up with Cesar Vialpando! Beat the tram up the hill!"
CJ watched as the other three in front of him dashed up the hill alongside the trolley.
"Jeah!" Ryder shouted out. "They can't stop me!"
"Piece of chocolate cake!" Cesar added.
The three drivers then split up. Ryder took a left turn. LB turned to the right. Cesar stayed straight ahead. And CJ just stuck with Cesar.
"This tram driver must be shittng himself, holmes!" Cesar said through the walkie talkie.
"Hey, CJ!" Ryder shouted through the walkie talkie. "One time at 12:00!"
CJ then looked to his left to find Ryder being chased by the police on the other side of the street. He saw Ryder's car shaking rapidly right before sending the two cop cars crashing into a wall.
"What I tell y'all?" Ryder shouted. "They can't stop me!"
CJ then saw LB riding on the other end of Downtown.
"Yo CJ," LB said through the walkie talkie. "Try not to crash into any building, a'ight?"
As LB zoomed through the intersection, CJ spotted Cesar being chased by the cops as well.
"Hello cops," Cesar sneered at the police. "What took you, eh?"
Cesar zoomed past CJ and made his way through the tunnel on the road, with CJ following him along.
"Hey, CJ, watch this... NITRO!" Cesar yelled, and he hit the nitro gas on his car, causing him to speed through the street. CJ turned his nitro on as well and followed Cesar at the speed of light. It was as if he was Sonic the Hedgehog.
"Follow me down the hill, holmes!" Cesar said as he took a right turn down a nearby hill. CJ followed along. He tried to control his acceleration as he and Cesar sped through Paradise street.
"Yo, Ryder, LB," CJ said through the walkie talkie. "You guys make it back to the garage yet?"
"I did," LB answered.
"Yo, I'm still blasting this nitro through the city!" Ryder replied. "One-time ain't a match for a Grove Street OG like me!"
"Yeah, well just focus on trying to get back to the garage, Ryder," CJ responded. As he and Cesar made their way back uphill, CJ told Cesar, "OK, Cesar, that's enough fun. Let's get these cars back to the garage! LB already made it there, and Ryder's still cruising Downtown!"
"OK, CJ," Cesar agreed. "Hey, I know a quick route!"
So Cesar lead CJ downhill through Juniper Hill street as the San Fierro Police Department continued chasing the two drivers. But as they drove downhill, Cesar crashed into two cars driving on the opposite of the intersection, causing his car to spin out.
"Holy SHIIIIIIIT!" Cesar shouted. "Fuck, holmes, did you see that?!"
"Can we think about getting back," CJ complained, "before I end up in a car-wreck barbecue?"
"Sure thing, holmes," Cesar replied. "There's a shortcut this way!"
Cesar lead CJ through the other corner through Downtown down the alleyway. To their surprise, however, they saw more cops on the other end of the alley, blocking their path.
"Uh-oh, more cops!" Cesar warned. "BACK UP, HOLMES, BACK UP! BACK UP!"
CJ put his car in reverse and let Cesar follow suit as he put his vehicle back on drive and drove away, riding from the cops. CJ followed suit and he and Cesar made their way back on the road in Downtown, narrowly escaping the police.
"OK, we're good!" Cesar told CJ. "See you back at the garage, CJ!"
CJ and Cesar both drove through the street and finally made it to the garage, with Ryder and LB standing by their vehicles. The former two parked their vehicles and exited them. Ryder walked around CJ and discerned the vehicle the latter was driving.
"I don't see no scratches in this vehicle," Ryder informed. "Looks like you did good once again, CJ. You ain't half as shitty as a driver like you used to be."
"I gotta be honest with you, CJ," LB chimed in, "when the police showed up, I thought you'd be in a fiery car crash burning to death."
"Yeah," CJ started to say, "well, that nitro came in handy. I actually thought I was Sonic the Hedgehog."
The other three laughed along with CJ.
"Let's go fix these vehicles up," Cesar answered.
"Right behind you, homie," LB said as the four friends walked inside the garage. CJ was on intense missions similar to when he was with Sweet, Big Smoke, and Ryder. The difference was that while Ryder was still by his side, he was working alongside Cesar and LB as well. It was like a new beginning of a new cohesion. At this point, CJ couldn't wait to bail Sweet out of jail. His brother would be so proud.
