Later, CJ was seen working on the hood of Cesar's red Savanna.
"Yeah, I got it," CJ announced. "It's in the manifold."
"Shit," Cesar groaned. "I just changed that seal! Must have got a crimp in it, damn!"
Kendl later arrived and looked out through the open garage door.
"Hey, Ceez," Kendl informed Cesar, "your boy is here."
Cesar looked up ahead to see an African American bald guy wearing a white tanktop and green shorts standing outside. He was standing right beside LB.
"He ain't my boy," Cesar replied. He walked over to the guy and LB. Meanwhile, Kendl walked right behind CJ.
"Hey, we're almost living a normal life, huh," Kendl told CJ softly. "This is far from Grove Street right?"
"Yeah, I know," CJ replied in a somber tone of voice, "but I just can't get it out of the back of my mind. Moms, Sweet, Smoke – I just can't let that go."
"I know," Kendl said. "So what we going to do about Sweet?"
"It's a shitty situation, but I've got to let it play out a little longer, OK?" CJ responded.
"OK, but be careful," Kendl told him. "We ain't trying to lose you again."
"That's right, sis," CJ told Kendl. "Good looking out. I still got my homies Ryder, Cesar, and LB backing me up. So we gonna get Sweet out of jail soon."
"That's good," Kendl said. "You guys all look out for each other. I'm especially waiting for Lisa to arrive here. Hopefully, she could keep Ryder in check with his dumbass."
She began to walk away. As Cesar and LB finished talking to the man, they returned to CJ.
"Hey. Carl, I gotta rap to you, holmes," Cesar told him. "I know a guy who knows a guy who handles freight containers down on the docks."
"And he saw one of the containers was loading up cars and one was a match for a car on a customer's wish list," LB added. "So, he marked the container with the spray can, but it might be too late, the ship's loading it and it moves out tomorrow. So if we want to get our hands on those vehicles, we gotta bounce now, homie."
"Okay, let's go peep it out – see what we can see," CJ replied.
He shut the hood of the Savanna and hopped inside the driver's seat. Cesar hopped in the passenger's seat while LB got into the back.
"What, Ryder ain't coming with us?" CJ asked as he started to pull out from the garage.
"He's talking to his sister," LB said. "She wants him to remember to pick her up at the airport first thing in the morning."
"For real?" CJ asked surprised. "Lisa's coming here this morning?"
"Yeah," LB replied as CJ made a right turn on the road. "She's gonna help remodel the garage. It's only been about a year since she moved out of Los Santos."
"Okay," CJ said. "Looks like the family's coming together after all."
"Sin lugar a duda, holmes," Cesar replied. "So anyways, how we gonna steal a car off a container ship, holmes?"
"You know, the same way they got on – use a dockside crane," CJ replied.
"Yeah," LB stated. "Like the one I used to have back at the junkyard in Los Santos – before C.R.A.S.H. tore it down after they tried to destroy our hood."
"Man, those things are real high up," Cesar moaned softly. "I ain't too good with ladders and I'm afraid of heights!"
"OK," CJ replied. "I'll use the crane, you and LB better be ready to crack the container."
"We got yo' back, CJ," LB told him. "Fo' life, my nigga!"
By the time CJ made it to Easter Basin, he drove into the docks and made it to the ship.
"That's the ship, CJ!" Cesar announced.
"OK, I'll go sort out the crane," CJ said. "Gimme a second."
"We here for ya, CJ," LB told him. "Just don't move so slow."
"He's right, CJ" Cesar added. "Be quick, I don't wanna be caught sleeping out here!"
So CJ got onto the crane and looked at the three containers loaded onto the ship. They were all plain and unmarked.
"Cesar! LB!" CJ called to the other two. "None of these is marked with spray paint!"
"Then we'll just have to try one at a time, eh!" Cesar shouted.
"Yeah!" LB yelled. "So you better get started, homie! Some guards are bound to come out here any second!"
So CJ used the crane to pick up one of the three containers from the ship. He hoisted up a little higher, rotated the crane to face the bottom ground, and slowly lowered the container onto the surface.
Cesar and LB checked inside. "Wrong one, Carl!" LB yelled.
"Not this one, CJ!" Cesar yelled back.
So CJ used the crane to rotate it back on top of the ship to grab the second container. He hoisted the crane slightly higher as he grabbed the container and rotated it to the ground, lowering it onto the surface, giving Cesar and LB a chance to check inside.
"Still not the one, CJ!" LB shouted out.
"No luck, CJ, try another!" Cesar added.
So CJ was left with one last container.
This has to be the one, CJ thought.
So he used the crane to rotate it to the top of the ship and grabbed the last container on board. He hoisted the container a few feet off the ship, rotated the crane to the ground, and slowly lowered the container down below. CJ and LB checked the inside.
"That's it!" LB shouted. "That's the one!"
"OK, CJ, this is the one!" Cesar yelled. "Good work, holmes!"
CJ let out a sigh of relief. He looked down from the crane. It was high up. But even from that view, he could still see the Jester down below. Little did he know, however, there were security guards down below. They drove in a blue Honda and parked the vehicle in front of the running Jester. As Cesar and LB hopped out of the car, the guards hopped out of their vehicle as well.
"Hey!" one of them shouted. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?!"
"CJ!" Cesar shouted as the guards fired at him and LB. "I could do with some help!"
"Yo, CJ!" LB yelled back. "Get your ass down here, nigga! We gotta take these fools out!"
So CJ climbed down the crane and joined Cesar and LB in a gun battle against the security guards.
After murdering all four of them, another car pulled up in front of the trio.
"Hey, hold it right there!" one of the security guards shouted as he and the others hopped out of their vehicles.
CJ, Cesar, and LB shot at the guards and killed them all as well.
"Stay right there, you thieving bastard!" another wave of security guards approached the trio.
The three friends killed all the security guards and hopped inside the Jester.
"Let's just get the car and get out of here!" Cesar told CJ.
"You heard the man, CJ!" LB added. "Let's get the fuck up outta here!"
So CJ turned to the exit and drove away
"There gotta be an easier way of earning a living than this," CJ muttered.
"Hey, CJ," LB told him. "Ain't nothing in life easy. You gotta work hard to get what you want."
"I know," CJ replied, "but still, can't we just do normal work without people trying to kill us?!"
"Sure, holmes," Cesar said. "I guess, but what else are you qualified for?"
"Yeah," LB chimed in. "How else you plan to run a normal business? You may have left the hood, but from what I've seen, that gang mentality is still on the back of your mind, homie. It's time to move on, Carl."
"Yeah, I feel you both," CJ replied. He then hit a rock on the road, which caused the trio to bounce up in the air.
"Hey, CJ!" Cesar cried out. "We get paid on the condition of the car, holmes! Be more careful!"
"Who's driving, me or you?" CJ asked.
"Nigga, you better be careful with that ride if you want the job to be easier," LB demanded.
CJ drove through Doherty and made it back to the garage, where he place the car inside.
"That was like a piece of tortilla, holmes!" Cesar said as he, LB, and CJ all hopped out of the car. CJ then turned to see Ryder talking on the phone.
"A'ight, so you want me to be there by what time?" he asked.
CJ heard the woman's voice again. It was definitely Lisa. CJ couldn't quite make out with what she was saying through the phone, but she sounded calm yet somewhat stern.
"Girl, I ain't gonna forget," Ryder told the woman through the phone. "I got it written down in my head. I'm off the water! So now I can think clearly!"
The woman on the phone said something. To CJ, it sounded as if she was asking a question.
"Yeah, I know where it's at!" Ryder responded. "I rode through the city to know where the place is! Just hang tight, sis! I definitely won't keep you waiting!"
The woman continued speaking incoherently through the phone sounding calm yet skeptical.
"I know, Lisa, I know," Ryder groaned. "You don't have to keep telling me twice! Just get yo' rest and wait for me tomorrow! I promise I'll be there!"
"Okay, bro!" CJ barely heard Lisa say through the phone. Ryder hung up and stored the phone in his pocket.
"Yo what's up with you, Ryder?" CJ greeted, giving his friend a handshake.
"Lisa's coming over here tomorrow," Ryder told CJ. "She wants me to pick her up from the airport at exactly 9:00 tomorrow. That's when her plane lands here in San Fierro."
"She's on the plane right now?" CJ asked.
"Jeah," Ryder said. "When she gets here, she's gonna help design this garage and add some nice shit around here!"
"That's great!" CJ said, feeling strangely excited to see Lisa again after five years since he left the hood. "Can't wait to see the end results once we've finished."
"So what you guys been up to?" Ryder asked.
"Me, Cesar, and LB," CJ started to say, "we went to pick up a Jester from the ocean docks over at Easter Basin."
"Jeah?" Ryder asked. "How that turn out?"
"It was a success," CJ replied. "Of course, we had to get past security to grab the vehicle."
"Just like good old times," Ryder said. "Remember when you and I took on those weekend soldiers last month?"
"I remember that," CJ said. "You almost got us killed with your crazy ass plans! You was definitely fucked up on that sherm, homie."
The two laughed it out. They had never had so much fun sharing memories with each other no matter how lowdown most of them were.
"Remember what I said about sticking by your homies, CJ," Ryder reminded. "Remember, I ain't the one who sold you out."
"I know, Ryder," CJ said.
"Later, CJ," Ryder said as he walked away. The empire was turning into a success so far. All that had to be done was the decorating and it would be finished completely. CJ had never felt so excited.
