Chapter 34

I'm So Confused

"WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!"

Adamos lets out a weak chuckle. "I may have jumped the gun a bit."

"A bit!? That was ground level and you jumped it like it was a fucking pole vault." I mentally scream at him yet not taking my eyes away from the glaring woman in front of me. "And now we're dead."

If looks could kill I would have been dead with the number of daggers that her eyes were shooting me, though there was something going on in the back of my mind that said that I had seen her somewhere.

"Not if I can't convince her its me."

"And how do you know her?" I ask sarcastically. "Old war buddy? Ex-girlfriend?"

Adamos made some retching sounds that seemed a bit to genuine to me. "NO! Fuck No!" He shouted. The utter repulsion in his voice nearly distracting me. "She's my daughter! The fuck!"

"Well how the fuck was I supposed to know?! It's not lik—"

"Boy." She only spoke a single word, but I it felt as if ten tons had been placed on my shoulders. She took a step forward. Her feet meeting the water's surface yet not sinking like any normal person. "It would be wise to explain yourself before I lose my patience."

The threat hung silently in the air and I could almost feel the noose tightening around my neck.

"Uh-Yes. Sorry. I'm, uh, here on a delivery and I took a wrong turn and nowI'mramblingandyou'rereallyscaryand—"

"Stop!" The command forcing my mouth shut. "Deep breath and then speak." The goddess spoke. Her tone was hard yet patient.

Taking her advice, I took a deep breath and pulled my backpack off. "I was sent to deliver a package and got lost after a horde of Nekrulls came after me." I pull the package from the bag. "However, I lost the tool that was supposed to show me the way. You wouldn't happen to be able to help, would you?" I ask trying to avoid the whole outburst.

The goddess raised a brow and snapped her fingers. The package vanished from my hand and reappeared in hers. She didn't even bother listening to my protests as she began to tear open wrapping.

"What are you doing?! I'm supposed to deliver that!"

"And you have." She says nonchalantly as she holds up a bottle of wine and a large sweater. "1926, a good year. And at least she got the stain out." She mutters. "You've done your job. You may leave." The goddess walked away looking at the bottle. "And take the trash with you."

"H-Hey! Wait a mom-"And she's gone."

I couldn't even see her through the trees anymore as I walked ashore. "Is it all gods that pull the mysterious routine or is it just the ones I meet?" I shook my head in exasperation before picking up the wrapping of the package. "Making me pick up her trash. Who does she think she is."

There on the wrapping in big bold letters: TO TIAMAT

"Oh." The realization of where I had seen her finally hits me. This was Adamos' daughter. One of the firsts. The last child of the primordial Thalassa. "Ohhhh."

"Oh, she's grown so beautiful." Adamos cooed.

"And she's completely dismissed us."

"Oh, don't you worry. She'll help us. My Tia has always been a patient and understanding girl."

"You really think that?" I couldn't help but ask. "Because if I didn't know any better, I'd think she was about to kill me."

"Pfftt. Nah." I felt Adamos nudge me towards the island, though it wasn't like I had a choice. Kym said that she was the only person that could help me, and I didn't know how much time I had wasted so far.

I burn the trash into nothing and walk out of the surf and into the forest. I had to raise a brow at the flora as they were far larger now that I was up close. The trees, bushes, even the fruit seemed to be growing far larger than they should. I had even walked past a banana tree where the bananas were the size of my forearm. "What is up with this place?" I raise my brow as I look at a few of the more exotic flowers. They were vividly bright colors that looked like they belonged in a tropical rain forest."You know these are actually quite beautiful." I take deep breath smelling the flowers.

"I'm pretty sure that one is poisonous."

"Oh look, I think I found a trail." I power walk away as fast as I could, I had enough encounters with poison to last me a long while thank you very much.

X

It only took me ten minutes before I was scaling the side of a mountain, manipulating the stone to create sturdy hand and foot holds for me to use.

Because where else would a goddess live than the highest place on the island.

"I never took you for stereotyping."

"Well…Am I…wrong?" I pant between each word as I pull myself over the ledge. The cool stone feeling great against my back as the aching in my muscles subsides. From where I was, I had a perfect view of the entire island and could even see a large lake that acted as a midpoint between the mountain and the coast. "You know the views not that bad." I say as I stand up.

"And it would be better without the trespassers."

"GYAAHH!" The sudden voice made me jump, nearly sending me back over the edge as I slip on some loose gravel. My only saving grace was the olive toned hand that grabbed me by the collar of my shirt before I fell over the side. A sudden yank and I soon found myself thrown on my ass.

"Ow. Was that really necess—OW!" Pain shoots up my hand as a foot grinds it into the ground, pinning me to the spot.

"This shall be the only time that I ask kindly. Why are you here?" Tiamat asks, her tone more frigid than the north.

"Oh, I'm just here because I was looking for some eggs and mil-AHHAHAHAAAA!" I could practically feel my bones breaking. "Gah! I'm sorry! Just get off my hand!"

Surprisingly enough the goddess complies and removes herself from crushing my limb, but I could barely make a fist due to the swelling and pain.

"You are trying my patience."

"Yeah, I've been told that I have that effect on people. Look I'm sorry if we got off on the wrong foot but I was told that you could help me." I looked her straight in the eyes as I asked. I couldn't help the slight shiver go down my spine at her piercing gaze. "Kym said that if I delivered the package you would help me find my friends. She said that you know everything that goes on in the ocean."

"As flattering as the praise is, I am going to have to decline." Tiamat sounded completely uninterested as she walked away.

"Wha-why!?"

"I have no interest in involving myself with the matters of the upper oceans. All it will bring is unnecessary complications."

"Even if they're a pain in the ass, but isn't Poseidon still your granfa—GGKH!"

Tiamat's hand was tightly wrapped around my throat in an iron vice, holding me a foot above the ground. I could feel my lungs begin to burn due to lack of oxygen. It was then that I realized just how much I screwed up. I got desperate when she declined to help and I panicked, letting the words come out of my mouth before I even knew it.

"You know quite a bit for a mere delivery boy." The goddess snarled as her eyes turned to slits. I felt a massive weight bear down on me, black spots forming in the corners of my eyes.

My lungs were on fire as I struggled to escape. "Can't…breathe." It was all I could get out as I tried to stay conscious. With a small growl that sounded far to deep to be human she threw me to the ground. Even with my new freedom I still found it difficult to stand. "Your daughters a real piece of work." I think as i tried to get up.

"A work of art." Adamos uselessly contributes.

My chin was grabbed by a slender finger and thumb, forcing me to look the goddess in the eyes. My mind went blank as I looked into those aqua green orbs, my body tensing as I looked into the eyes of what could only be an apex predator. Tiamat held up her hand, showing me a small glowing blue orb. "You are going to tell me everything that you know." She whispered in a low voice that didn't detract from how terrifying she was. "If you lie to me, I will know."

I numbly nodded.

"Who are you?"

"Percy Jackson…ma'am." I hastily added on the last part, though it seemed like she didn't appreciate it.

"Why are you so insistent on seeking my help?"

"I was told that you know everything that goes on in the oceans. Second only to my father Poseidon."

"If you're hoping for some form of submission by associating yourself with the king of Atlantis than you are sorely mistaken. "

"I wasn't trying too."

"Now tell me. Who told you how to find me?"

"I was following something that Kymopoleia gave me before i lost it. I then got lucky after escaping the Nekrulls." My mouth felt dry as I spoke. Suddenly the orb in her hand turned from blue to red and my heart skipped a beat. I couldn't even react before my face hit the floor. An unknown force was pressing down on me like a massive weight. I struggled to my knees before the weight tripled, nearly sending me to the floor once more if I hadn't caught myself at the last second.

"Impressive. Most mortals would have found themselves crushed into unconsciousness. Yet you not only stay awake but also resist." Tiamat almost sounded intrigued. "But it would be best if you didn't lie from now on, otherwise your punishment will be much worse."

I nodded my head and immediately felt the weight disappear from my shoulders. I could feel my joints pop as I moved.

"Now answer my question boy." The goddesses was starting to sound impatient. My mind raced as I tried to think of something. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know how the magic worked, nor the limitations so half truths might as well be pointless.

"I think its best if we come clean with her."

"But what about secrecy and all that shit you go on about?"

"I raised her to well." Despite sounding exasperated there was definitely an underlying feeling of pride. "There is no other way than to come clean."

"…You just want to talk to her!"

"…I will neither confirm nor deny that statement."

"All right look," I looked the goddess in the eyes, a feat that was much easier said than done. "I'm gonna need you to keep an open mind. Because what I'm about to tell you is going to sound crazy and not at all realistic, but it is the honest truth."

"…I promise not to punch you." She said after a tense moment.

"O-kay?" I somehow wasn't comforted in the slightest at the promise. "I've been traveling around with a god that's been living in my head and he is also your long lost fatheGHHAK!"

I didn't even register what happened until I saw Tiamat with her foot in the air, in the ending stance of a kick.

"Ah. My apologies. It seems that I kicked you out of reflex even though you were telling the truth." Tiamat looked a bit bewildered at what just occurred yet somehow her voice still had traces of her even tone.

"Whhyy?" I probably came out more as a whine than anything else but the aching pain in my gut and the need to keep my lunch down was drawing most of my attention. "You said you wouldn't attack me."

"It sounded like you were speaking complete bullshit and I only promised not to 'punch' you."

"Can see the fucking family resemblance now." I grumble as I massaged my aching torso. It didn't hurt all that much to be honest. It was more to the shock and where she hit that stunned me rather than any damage. "It seems that the ability to be a pain in the ass is hereditary."

Tiamat most likely chose to ignore the comment completely as she walked over to me and held my face in her hands. "You said that my father was within you. I want you to show me." Her face was still impassive as she spoke however there was something different in her eyes and the way she spoke. Like there was a small hint of hope just beneath the surface.

"All right. Time for you to get out there and convince her not to kill us."

Not even waiting I feel Adamos shove me out of the way for control of my body.

"Tia my beautiful baby. I've missed you so much Megathia."

"Papa?" As if a switched was flipped the goddess's entire demeanor changed as he said Megathia. I could only guess that Megathia was some kind or childhood nickname only he called her in private. Gone was the look of a cold predator staring me down and in its place was a little girl seeing her father for the first time in years.

And when I say little girl, I mean that literally. The moment that the two embraced the six-foot goddess' form shifted and shrunk down to the size of a little girl that looked no older than maybe six or seven years of age.

What followed next I couldn't really understand as it sounded mostly like incoherent babbling between the two, but there were a few words that sounded like an explanation as they hugged it out for ten or so minutes.

It was actually kind of sweet to watch.

"Promise me you're not going to leave."

"Never. I'm staying on this island however long you want."

"What!?" I forced my way to the front, not caring at all about ruining the moment. "No! We are on a time limit as is! We can't stay here!"

"Percy! Come on!" Adamos whines.

"Oh. It's you again." Tiamat said, her tone back to its normal even tone while her form was back to the gorgeous woman it was before. "I must insist that you allow my father to resume control. As…pleasant as you are, he is the far more preferred company."

I ignore the backhanded comment that proves she is Adamos' child and try to bring us back to why we are here. "Look, can you help us or not?"

"Of course, I can." Tiamat uncommittedly shrugs. "Locating your friends is but child's play for me."

"Good." I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face. It had honestly felt like months since I had last seen my friends. "That's a relief. Can you tell me how to get to them?"

"No."

The answer was so short and the tone so blank that I could practically hear the record scratch in my mind. "What?"

"I don't know if you realize child, but I have finally found my father, who has been exiled for millennia after a bullshit trail. A trial that was created because a few deities couldn't stand the amount of sway my father holds over their very lives." Her voice becomes more frigid with each passing moment. "So, I hope you realize just how much I cherish these moments."

I gulp down the knot that was forming in my throat. This woman has to be the most intense daddy's girl that I had ever seen. Forget the cutesy voice to get what she wants; this is a complete fucking reversal where I'm pretty sure she would submerge a coastal city if asked.

I let out a nervous chuckle. "Would you uh, give us a minute." "Dude you need to control your daughter right now!"

"Oh, come on she's just a little emotional right now. I mean you remember how you felt when you thought your mom died." I grimace at the memory, not liking to remember how that felt.

"But we are on a time limit. We've already been sent every which way and now we are practically at the finish line." I reason. "You gotta convince her to help us."

"…You realize she will want something in return." I mentally roll my eyes, trying not to think of how typical and cliché that it has become. Gods don't do anything without getting something out of it. "No one ever does anything out of the goodness of their hearts Percy." Adamos scoffed. "They either expect something in return or your good enough friends or family that they want you around. No one cares about the lives of strangers."

"Skip the lecture and just convince her already!"

"Fine." I felt my self-move over and Adamos take the wheel. "Hey Megathia." Adamos cooed and instantly I was no longer looking at a grown woman but a grinning little girl. "Look, this is a rather important thing for Percy. He really needs all the help he can get, and we are kinda on a timeline. So, won't you do it? For me?"

Tiamat bit her lower lip as she stewed in silence. With how small she was it almost looked like the was adorably pouting.

"Fine." She agreed with no small amount of reluctance. "I will help, but only because Papa asked. But in return I want one day with him. No Percy in the way. Just time with my father."

"Well?" Adamos asked. I took a moment to think about it. It wasn't a bad deal at all. All I had to do was give up a day of my time for her help.

I felt Adamos move over allowing me control. "I think that's fair."

The goddess nodded, looking pleased with the exchange. She was back in her adult form, and in all honesty the swap between forms was kinda getting hard to keep up with.

"Now that the deal has been struck, I will send you straight to your friends."

"Just like that?" I asked a little caught off guard. "I mean not that I'm not grateful or anything, but I thought you were just going to give me directions."

"My father said that you were running out of time did he not? This will be much faster and far safer than giving you directions. I wouldn't want anything to happen to him so soon after I have met up with him because you were careless."

I had to nod at her reasoning, not bothering to think to much of it. If she wanted to give me a short cut, then who am I to complain about being given the easy way.

"All right child. How you get there should be easy enough," Tiamat began to explain as she began to something magical. I guess being the daughter of a magic god meant that you learned quite a bit as the spell she was conjuring looked like a teleportation spell but that was as far as I got as it was to complex for me to decipher. "You'll fell a slight pinch and a loss of consciousness. That is normal for first timers. The demigods that entered the Sea of monsters are all gather together in one place, so you won't need to look far."

"Well that's a relief."

Tiamat nodded in agreement. "They are all located at…oh." Tiamat briefly paused.

"What." I didn't like that slight pause. Pauses were usually something bad. Either given by people who had bad news or evil Disney villains who love theatrics. "What's with the oh. Is this a bad oh or a good oh?"

"It seems that your friends are all located at C.C's spa and resort."

"So?" I asked still not getting what she was so worried about. "They are at some spa. What's the big whoop."

"Percy, don't you remember the last resort you were at?" Adamos asked.

"No." I said with a frown not being able to recall in the slightest. "You got us out of there."

"Regardless child, this is a resort inside the sea of monsters." Tiamat interrupted. "Never assume that anything is safe in here."

I nod, taking her words to heart. A little paranoia has often proved quite beneficial ever since I found out I was a demigod. No reason this should be any different.

All of a sudden, I felt a small pull in my gut as motes of light flicker around me. I watch as my hand begins to slowly dissolve with the lights. Not hurting in the slightest, rather feeling kinda tingly.

"Perseus." Tiamat calls me by my name, drawing my full attention. "Next we meet I will be taking what is owed to me."

"One day with your dad." I acknowledge, earning me a nod of acceptance.

Tiamat turns to walk away but stops and turns to me, giving me an oh so familiar smirk that turns my blood cold. The same smirk that I've learned to associate with a certain god when he's feeling mischievous. "I've added a little something to the spell. Nothing harmful believe me, but it should help you search for your friends unimpeded."

Her reassurances did nothing to soothe my nerves, but I was never able to ask her what she did as I soon dissolved into light.

X

"EVERY TIME!" I roar as I stomp around the sand of my mental landscape. "Gah! Its like every god just gets off on being as vague and mysterious as shit!" I practically felt like screaming into the empty landscape because the whole not giving straight answers thing was really getting annoying.

"You'll understand how fun it is when you do it yourself."

Immediately I was on guard as whoever just spoke was someone that I had never heard before. The only people who could be hear were Adamos and myself, however this voice was definitely feminine. It wasn't Tiamat as it sounded maybe an octave higher than her own.

"Who's there!?" I shouted as I take a fighting stance. My hand to hand wasn't as good as my sword or spear skills, but I was no slouch by any means. "How did you get here?"

I hear the soft crunch of sand behind me and instinctively turn, ready to fight who ever it is that invaded my mind and hoping that I could either defeat them of hold them off long enough for Adamos to arrive.

However, I freeze when I see her, a warmth spreading through my face.

In front of me has to be one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen, one that could give Aphrodite a run for her money. However, she could be considered beautiful for an entirely different reason than the goddess of love.

Where Aphrodite could be thought of as soft, sensual, alluring, the perfect damsel or girl next door, this woman was strong, charismatic, like she could walk into any room and have a presence that just put her at the top.

The epitome of a warrior queen.

She had long black hair that reached down to her rear, which seemed to shimmer between accents of purple and blue like an aurora, framed her heart shaped face contrasted with her flawless pale skin.

She wasn't tall, yet I wouldn't qualify her as short for a woman either, standing around somewhere between 5'5 and 5'6. I couldn't help but stare at her curvaceous figure, her generous chest wrapped tightly in a black and purple clothe while a similar dress wrapped around her wide hips, a single slit on the right side teasingly opening up just enough for me to catch a glimpse of her long pale legs with each movement.

The clothes however didn't cover her midriff or arms leaving an open view of her flawless pale skin and to show that despite her lithe appearance there was well toned muscled that only a fool would ignore.

Despite the fact that I was sure that I had never seen this woman before, I couldn't help but think that this woman looked very familiar.

"You look a little flustered Percy." The woman spoke in a smooth tone that brought a new wave of heat to my ears. "What's the matter."

"Wh-Who are you?" I feel a wave of embarrassment as I stammer in front of the beautiful woman. The woman lets out a melodic laugh and I can only guess how red my face must look at the moment.

"Come on now Percy. You really shouldn't ask questions you know the answer to. Your much smarter than that." The woman teases as she begins to circle me like a predator.

"Yeah well, I've never met you before in my life lady." I never take my eyes off of her even though I could feel the nagging in the back of my head that screams familiar. "I think I'd remember someone like you."

"Oh well aren't you a lady killer." The woman gives me a rather familiar smirk. "Careful. I know it's every boy's dream to have a harem of girls but its often to much work to bother."

"Wha-Why would I want something like that!" I shout, not wanting to hear anymore. As appealing as a relationship is, the idea of multiple was honestly a bit much for me. I only need one girl in my love life thank you very much.

I suddenly felt something soft press into my back as long slender arms wrapped themselves over my chest.

"When did she…?" I didn't even see her move, yet she had somehow made it behind me.

"Come on Percy. Its not that hard. Who. Am. I?" With each word she pressed closer into my back. Each movement made me stiffen.

"I-I give up. I don't know who you are." I could feel the heat from her breath on my neck.

"It hurts my heart that you don't remember your…brother."

"…HUUUH?!"

I don't know how it happened but somehow, I managed to escape her grasp and move over twenty feet away in the span of a single second.

However, these impressive feet of agility wasn't enough to keep the woman from laughing like a mad woman. "HAHAHAHAHA! Y-Your face! I can't breathe."

"THE FUCK!" I scream at the dark-haired woman as she laughs hard enough that I see tears. "Stop laughing."

"Oh man. That never gets old. Whoo." The woman stops laughing long enough to compose herself.

I was about to call bullshit on her however I immediately recognized the amused smirk on her face that only belonged to one man. A pit of dread fills my gut. "Oh, my gods my brothers a woman." I realized, however that didn't compare to what dawned on me next. "Oh, shit I thought my brother was hot."

I had never wished I was able to drown myself until this moment.

"Oh, come on Percy its not that bad." Ada—She tried to console me. "It's perfectly natural for you to imagine such beautiful women." A—SHE reasoned, but I could hear the joking tone underneath.

"SHUT UP! Do you even know how weird it is to be attracted to your sis—BROTHER!?" I shouted back. "It's super fucking weird!

"Well its not like we gods have DNA, so there's really no issue with sleeping with a sibling or cousin." The goddess crossed her arms and rested her check in her hand, giving me an amused expression. "So, don't worry about any birth defects when you finally sleep with one of the girls at camp and knock them up yo—"

"NO! NO! I am not having the sex talk again. The first time was bad enough." I shout as I cover her mouth with my hand. I shiver as I remember how that conversation went, and if the smile that I feel under my palm means anything she remembers as well.

I slowly move my hand away from her smiling mouth and take a deep breath to calm my sporadic nerves. I was to all over the place and I would never get any answers unless I was calm.

"So, you're really Adamos?" I ask, wanting to get this question out of the way first.

"Well, this form is known by many names around the world, but I mostly go by Evangelia, or Eve for short."

"Eve? Wait. Adamos…Like Adam and Eve?"

"Of course." Eve gives me a confirming grin. "Where do you think those names came from. Adamos, meaning 'unbreaking' or 'invincible' and Adam meaning 'earth' in hebrew. While Evangelia means 'bearer of good news, and Eva or Eve meaning 'life' in hebrew."

"And you're the god, or goddess of life." I finished.

Eve gave me a proud smile and a thumbs up. "Bingo!"

"But that still doesn't explain how you're a woman."

"It's because I wanted to." She said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, but I must have had a look on my face that said I wasn't buying it. Eve lets out a sigh before explaining. "Look, there are plenty of myths of us deities transforming into animals and what not. There are even plenty of cases of gods turning mortals into opposite genders, Artemis being the prime example. What makes you think we can't turn ourselves into the opposite gender."

It took me a second before I realized that he, SHE—Gods this is going to take some getting used to—has a point. There are many stories of the gods taking different forms and seducing mortals and changing mortal's genders. Hell, even my father has turned a woman into a man before.

Was it really so hard to believe that the gods could change themselves.

"Its still kinda hard to believe."

"Oh, believe you, me. You're not the first person to fall for my form change." Eve waved off before smiling like she just remembered a good joke. "There have been many people, mortals and immortals alike, that didn't recognize me until I told them. It's always funny watching people's reactions. Well, that and this form has helped me solve many problems."

"Really? How?" I ask, now feeling curious.

"While I was in Japan, I went under the name Ame-no-Uzume and I had to bail Susan out of his latest screw up by stripping in front of the Shinto pantheon. I tell you; you haven't seen anything until you've seen a sun goddess blush." Eve smiles fondly. "There was also the time that I passed myself of as Freyja to help Thor get his hammer back, and the time I went into hiding in Ireland." Eve let out an involuntary shiver. "Changed my name to Scàthach and started training heroes for a while."

"Why were you hiding out in Ireland?"

"I don't want to talk about it."

"But—"

"I said I don't want to talk about it!"

I back away, holding my hands in surrender and letting the question die right then and there. "Ok. I think we were getting off track anyways. You still haven't told me why you changed into a woman."

"Well I thought that misery loves company and you'd feel better."

"What? Why?" I asked now confused. Why would I care about…that. "Eve. What did Tiamat do?" Eve looks away a coy expression on her face. "Adamos?" I ask with more force, forgetting the name change.

"Have you ever heard of the Oiroke no Jutsu from Naruto?"

"Yeah? What does that have to do with any…thing…No." I freeze finally get what she's implying.

"Sorry kiddo, but you'll realize this is for the best."

"You son of a bitch! Don't you da—!" I never finished that sentence as I blacked out right there.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

On a lone beach a single individual scream to the heavens a primal roar that promises a painful demise to all those that had taken part in their pain and torment.

A/N: Hey everyone. Sorry that this is so overdue, but I blame a mixture of Cyberpunk 2077 and traveling for the holidays. It don't own a laptop, so I haven't touched any word docs for a while. Anyways how are you all doing. I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season. If any of you can guess the female Adamos is modeled after Scathach from FGO. For any who don't like that, I just want to say this isn't a statement of anything on gender or sexuality. Adamos is a god, or in this case a goddess and can change to whatever she pleases, though he does prefer to be male. It also opens up different ways to be in other mythologies. Also.
