CJ then got a call from Sweet and answered his cellphone.

"'Sup?" CJ answered.

"Yo CJ, you good, bro?" Sweet asked through the cellphone.

"I'm good, bro," CJ replied. "What about you?"

"Aside from my empty clip, I'm straight," Sweet replied. "What's up with B-Dup?"

"Let's just say that B-Dup's drug dealing career has went downhill permanently," CJ responded. "But Big Bear been into rehab months ago and I'm wondering if he got out soon."

"A'ight," Sweet replied. "Well, come back over to my place. I'm having a discussion with the rest of the families."

So CJ hung up the cellphone and stored it in his pocket. He had taken out one traitor and was now on the verge to hunt for the main traitor. Now that Sweet was motivated and no longer in despair, he should be back to his powerful self again.

Meanwhile, CJ kept trying to reach Ryder's number, but his number kept going to voicemail. He was getting worried. Where was his homie? It wasn't like him to disappear all of a sudden.

Without thinking too much about it, CJ decided to return to Grove Street and hopped inside one of the parked vehicles under the Muholland Intersection. The sun had just began setting, and the blazing orange colors bounced off the buildings and streets.

CJ finally made it back to Grove Street and parked in front of Sweet's house. He exited the vehicle and walked up to Sweet's house. He walked through the hallway and searched for Sweet, who he saw sitting on the counter having a discussion with the rest of the Grove Street Families members.

"You gotta love your 'hood like you love your homies!" Sweet announced to his members. "It's always been that way, and ain't nothing ever gonna change, I done seen it all."

He then turned to see CJ enter the kitchen. "Whattup, CJ?" he said.

"Whassup?" CJ greeted back, giving Sweet a handshake. "Yeah... I'm glad to see things back the way they used to be."

"Nah, it ain't like it was," Sweet told him. "But it's gonna be. We still gotta get everybody in the 'hood back together. I was just telling these cats what's important. We gotta let everybody know: Grove is back on the map."

CJ then decided it was time for his brother to see the bigger picture. As much as he wanted to get the families back, he was still above the hood mentality. So he had something to say. "Hold up - don't you think we ought to take it easy?" he asked.

"What?" Sweet muttered in perplexity as he glared at CJ.

"You know," CJ told him. "I got other things in mind - commitments I made."

Sweet then turned to the other gang members. "Can y'all step outside for a minute?" he asked quietly. "I need to talk to my brother."

So the other members of the Grove Street Families got up off their chairs and walked out of the kitchen. Sweet then turned back to CJ. "If you don't get this shit together, what you think this place is going to look like?" Sweet asked his brother. "You always did real good leaving jobs half finished."

CJ then shook his head in disbelief. "That's cold, Sweet," he uttered, struggling to keep his temper.

"Man, we can't take care of this from no bitch-ass rapper's mansion!" Sweet snapped.

CJ's brother was really taking some quixotic methods, and it was time for CJ to give him a reality check. "Look, the world is bigger than this 'hood," CJ tried to convince.

"This is where our lives began and where it's probably gonna end," Sweet declared presumptuously. "And don't forget where you came from, mister uppity ass nigga."

"Now that ain't fair," CJ told him.

"Oh," Sweet uttered, glaring at CJ "Somebody just crossed out all the writing on the wall. Disrespected your 'hood. And you act like you don't give a fuck. THAT ain't fair."

CJ just didn't have the energy to argue back. He knew it would take a long time to convince his brother to eradicate the ghetto mentality out of his mind. So he figured that he should give Sweet more time until he really sees how the ghetto mentality is bringing him down. "OK," CJ told him. "Have it your way. C'mon."

CJ and Sweet walked outside. "So you got a plan?" CJ asked.

"Yeah, I got a plan," Sweet announced. "We're gonna roll into Ballas territory and take it back for the Grove."

"Okay, let's get those motherfuckers!" CJ agreed.

"Seriously, CJ," Sweet told CJ as the two hopped inside the Greenwood. "You still ain't seen Ryder anywhere? He the only motherfucker that ain't shown up back in the Grove during the meeting!"

"He around here somewhere," CJ told him. "I'm sure he'll turn up!"

"Well I hope he do," Sweet said. "Because I already lost three homies last year."

CJ drove straight down the road and through Idlewood into the Ballas' territory, where Big Smoke's old house was.

CJ and Sweet stepped out of the car and pulled out their assault rifles, ready to murder the members of the Ballas. They saw a group of Ballas hanging right under the bridge and prepared for attack.

"Let's hit these fools!" Sweet called as he and CJ fired bullets at every member, instigating a gang war.

CJ and Sweet fought for their lives as they took out many of their rivalry gangs using their assault rifles. The Ballas were becoming even more intense since the last months CJ was in Los Santos, meaning that the Johnson brothers were going to have to put in all their weight. So they continued firing bullets at their rival gang and each member dropped dead after being struck by so many bullets.

CJ and Sweet survived the first wave, then came the second wave, in which the Ballas had more hand grenades to fire at the two brothers. They both took cover and used the houses and back alley wall as cover. CJ and Sweet continued shooting at the Ballas and killed them all one by one.

After the second wave, CJ and Sweet got a big surprise when they saw that the Ballas had somehow gotten sawed-off shotguns and Molotov Cocktails. This didn't squelch CJ and Sweet's battle though. They just continued to fire back at them, with the help of CJ's accuracy skills and Sweet's brute force combined. After a two-minute shootout, CJ and Sweet had finally murdered every last member, and Idlewood was now all theirs.

"Grove Street Families is back!" Sweet cheered. "Let's go hoo-ride on these Ballas!"

So CJ and Sweet decided to take on another 'hood in Idlewood and looked around.

"What you been doing since I was inside?" Sweet asked CJ. "Join an army?"

CJ just smiled and stared back at Sweet. "Let's just say my mind went sharper after I left the 'hood," CJ equivocated.

"I see," Sweet answered. "Well show me more of that shit when we take on another 'hood, baby bro!"

CJ and Sweet walked around Idlewood to find another 'hood to take over and finally came across the gas station by the convenient store – the same store that Brian was murdered at five years ago.

"This one's for you, little bro," CJ muttered under his breath.

He murdered the groups of Ballas at the store not just to take back the part of Idlewood, but to avenge his younger brother's demise. So after starting a gang war, CJ and Sweet entered their first wave, where the Ballas were coming back even stronger than ever. Some of them even did drive-bys on them, which luckily, Sweet and CJ were able to circumvent. They fired back at the attacking Ballas while avoiding their swarming bullets, which hit all over the store in front of them. This caused the owners inside to scream and take cover.

CJ and Sweet survived the first wave and prepared for the next wave. The Ballas were too persistent to let the Johnson brothers take over their 'hood. They threw more grenades and Molotov cocktails at them, and CJ and Sweet dodged every blow as they fired back at the gang. It was literal life or death, and they weren't taking the latter as an option, especially since two of their family members were already deceased.

The shootout lasted for a good fifty seconds until the brothers came to the final wave of the gang war. The Ballas have become heavily armed with all kinds of weapons: assault rifles, combat shotguns, SMGs, and so on. As they attacked CJ and Sweet, the latter two fired bullets back at them. They continued the gang war for a good two minutes and thirty seconds until every last Ballas gang member had now dropped dead.

The 'hood now belonged to CJ and Sweet, and CJ had the chance to take one the one territory that the Ballas had killed Brian five years prior. CJ felt good at the fact that he had a chance to avenge his younger brother. All he had left was to search for the guy who betrayed him and instigated the murder of his mother as well.

"We did it, CJ!" Sweet cheered. "Let's bail back to Grove Street."

So CJ followed Sweet around to get to the Greenwood they left behind by the bridge. CJ hopped into the driver's seat and started the engine, with Sweet tagging along. CJ drove straight down the road and right to his home street to drop off Sweet. He parked the car in front of Sweet's house.

"You helped Grove Street Families hammer them Ballas," Sweet congratulated.

"Johnson boys rolled right over them!" CJ declared.

"OK, dog, I'm going to get some sleep," Sweet said. "I'm beat."

He then handed CJ some cash. "Here," he said, putting the cash in CJ's hands. "I took this from one of those Ballas fools. Probably drug money – here's your half."

Sweet hopped out of the vehicle and walked back inside his house. CJ yawned loudly, as he was just as tired. It was now late outside, and he wanted to take a small respite after surviving several gang wars against the Ballas. So he decided to drive to Madd Dogg's mansion to get some sleep.
