After a few minutes of walking, the group finally arrives at the village.
The smell of freshly baked pie wafts through the air, causing their stomachs to growl even louder, looking around they can see rows of houses, people wandering about doing their jobs and children playing tag.
"Welcome to Syrup village, there's a restaurant up ahead." Usopp says and keep walking,
"Quaint village you got here." Jaune comments,
"Yeah, not much happens around here, but it's nice living here." Usopp replies with a smile on his face,
"I bet, so why were you out at the beach anyway?" Jaune asks the question that has been bothering him ever since this morning,
"Oh that? I just enjoy walking along the beach, and you got to be careful, you know? Pirates could come and invade at any moment." Usopp warns, "So I take it upon myself to protect this village from harm."
"Uhhh"
"Well except you guys of course, you all seem like good people." Usopp says trying to diffuse the awkward situation he got himself in,
Cutting in, "Hey Usopp, who are those three kids?" Luffy asks as he points at a bush with three little heads poking out of it,
"Oh them? Don't worry they're harmless children from the village." Usopp waves dismissively,
Seeing that they have been spotted, the children scrambles off,
"So anyway, here we are, come on in guys." Usopp says and pushes the doors open, "Sit wherever you like."
"Welcome welcome, how can I help you?" The owner greets until she spots Usopp, "oh, Usopp, you're not warning the village today?"
"No, not today." Usopp replies with a smile and begin to bargain, "Anyway, these are my friends, they're travellers who just got attacked and they're quite low on money, so I was wondering if they can get lower prices or something?"
"Lower prices? hm, no can do there," She answers, "But, I can give them some bread and fruit to eat, free of charge, if you don't scream anything about pirates invading for today."
"Ok" Usopp agrees and shake her hand,
"In that case, sit down with your friends and I'll go get food."
"Thank you." Usopp thanks the owner as she disappears back into the kitchen,
"Alright lad, just sit down and I'll get it to you."
Walking to the table, Usopp happily plops himself onto a chair until,
"What was that all about?" Jaune speaks up,
"What are you talking about?" Usopp nervously asks,
"The owner just said something about warning the village, do pirates invade often?"
"Well no they don't, … I'm just playing a prank on the village you know? Things can be quite dull around here, so a prank makes things here more lively," Usopp explains and move on to Luffy with his own questions, "Anyway Luffy, can you tell me anything about my father?"
"Well, Yasopp is part of my friend's crew and he is fantastic with a gun." Luffy tells Usopp everything regarding his father,
Wanting to hear more Usopp asks, "Part of a crew? Is he still with them? What sort of adventure did he go on?"
Pouting, Luffy answers, "Last time I saw them, he is still with them, I can't tell you anything about their adventures though, they never let me go with them."
"I bet he was a brave man, challenging the sea with his crew right? I also bet he fought a giant or something." Usopp says, idolising his old man with stars in his eyes,
"Yeah, my friend is super strong so I know they go on lots of adventures and I bet they also fought a dragon too." Luffy replies with even more stars in his eyes,
"Alright you two, settle down." Zoro says, trying to rein them in,
"I say let them, I'm amazed at how energetic Luffy is." Jaune argues,
"Ok, food is here." The owner calls out and place three baskets of fruits and two baskets of bread on the table, she then promptly returns to the kitchen,
Immediately, the crew grab whatever they can and stuff it in their mouth without a care in the world,
"Well anyway," Usopp utters as he grabs a loaf bread, "I got to go."
"Huh? You're not staying and eat?" Luffy asks with cheeks still full of food,
"Uh yeah, I'm kinda running late on something, so I'll talk to you guys later." Usopp explains as he walks to the door,
"Alright then, bye Usopp." Luffy calls out in the middle of an attempt to grab an apple,
"See ya." Jaune says while fighting for an apple,
"Suit yourself." Zoro utters and go back to eating,
Emily only waves and continue eating,
Minutes later, the five baskets are all empty, satisfied with their meal, the crew sit back and relax until three little boys carrying wooden swords burst in,
"You three!" They yell in unison, "What have you done to our captain?!"
Instead of replying, the crew look on in confusion,
"Captain Usopp, what have you done to him?!" The boy with green hair repeats,
Seeing that he's not getting any answers, the boy points his sword at Zoro and ask again, "where's our captain?"
"Don't know," Zoro replies, "Maybe I ate him."
"what?" the boy with glasses mutters,
"That's right," Zoro continues and smirks evilly, "And maybe I'll eat all of you too."
"Piiman, what should we do?" The boy with a purple hat covering his eyes asks the green haired boy with fear in his voice, "Another captain ate our captain!"
"I don't know Ninjin! Don't ask me!" Piiman replies, "Tamanegi! What should we do?"
"Since we're up against a monster." Tamanegi says calmly, rationalising the situation, "Run Away!" He screams and bolts out of the restaurant,
"Run Away!" Piiman yells out and both him and Ninjin follows Tamanegi out the door,
"What was all that racket?" The owner asks, emerging from the kitchen,
"Nothing happened, just Zoro threatening to eat some kids." Luffy answers with a straight face,
